Title: THE BOOKS ARRIVE EARLY

Well, you've read the notes, the notes arrived late rather than early, and now it is time for you to post until the late rather than early cows come home.

Good morning, all! I slept relatively well. Thank God for Tylenol Arthritis; it's pretty good for the pains. although nothing beats Tylenol with codeine!

This morning, I am off to Rodgers & Hammerstein for my final pass through the DEAREST ENEMY archive. I need to answer some questions I do not remember about what I did in 2002 to reconstruct the show.  I'll stop at Toyland, drop off some music for my colleague Curtis, pick up a ROBERTA vocal score for Jason Graae, and head home.

Glenn Ford I always enjoyed, then I saw 3:10 to Yuma and realized that he was more than a pretty face and an engaging actor. He was something to watch. Also liked the Big Heat, Pocketful of Miracles and Gilda.

Borgnine: The Wild Bunch

Rod Steiger: In the Heat of the Night.

It took me over 90 minutes to get home today from 27th Street. I have no idea what's going on, but traffic is a mess and buses are taking their goddamned time running on Sixth Avenue. It waiting 20 minutes before one bus finally stopped. There had been a No 7 before it with the sign "Next Bus Please" flashing. Then, about five minutes later, another bus showed up.  According to the lying schedules the MTA posts at every stop, there should have been one every 10 or so minutes. Because traffic was so awful, it took forever to get to the Upper west Side and at 72nd Street, we were told by a dispatcher the next stop was at 118th and Eighth Avenue. So, everyone had to get off and get onto the already packed bus waiting for us. It was like riding in a sardine  can and every stop piled on more crowds, most of them school kids who ride for free.

So, what the fat hell is going on today?

No, I guess not.  I actually just had dinner at home this eve with the ex (the other roommate cooked) and we watched some TV.  I still think he's a liar and an a-hole, but we get along.  I think I'm passed being bitter.  That is, until I find myself packing the same things I packed twice in the past two years.

I can watch Ford in pretty much any of his westerns...I'm also fond of COWBOY, THE MAN FROM COLORADO (Glenn plays a baddie), and THE FASTEST GUN ALIVE (though it's a bit tough to believe that Broderick Crawford would really be his competition for fastest gun...But the movie also has the always-excellent John Dehner in it).  VIOLENT MEN has the bonus of Babs Stanwyck being evil and nice performances from Eddie G. and Brian Keith.

THE VIOLENT MEN
THE BIG HEAT

We recently watched THE VIOLENT MEN and enjoyed his performance and the film very much.

Those were great bonuses in VIOLENT MEN.  I find it amazing that with a cast of these favorites of mine I didn't remember this movie, kind of seems my now I would have watched it multiple times.

Your comment about Broderick Crawford made me laugh out loud.

Well, I must be off.  Tonight is a production meeting for the next show for which I will be sound board operator:  Olympia Family Theater (http://olyft.org/)'s original musical adaptation of Cinder Edna (http://www.amazon.com/dp/0688162959/).  OFT is the group that put on "The Wind in the Willows" last year.  I have some friends in the show, so I know that it's going to be fun. :D

Be back later!

Good morning, all! I slept relatively well. Thank God for Tylenol Arthritis; it's pretty good for the pains.

I looked it up to see what is in it vs plain Tylenol.  The website say temporarily out.  You might want to stock up on this.

When I get to Dublin, I'm stocking up on Tylenol with codeine!

Do you buy it over the counter or get it through a doctor at discounted prices?

Over the counter.

Doing lots of playing on our staging site with the new notes form.  It's actually very easy - much easier, in fact.  But they still have to figure out how to break the notes into two sections - I discussed this at length with them and I think they now have a handle on it.  It's also going to take much longer than originally projected, like another twenty hours, so I really don't like three pages of postings because why am I doing all of this work otherwise?  Perhaps someone can explain that to me.  I'm also supposed to see the staging site version of this updated board, either in a little bit or the morning.

So far, I wrote a test notes - wrote in Word, used italics and bold, all of which carried over perfectly when put in the form, and I even put a video into the notes.  The one thing that became clear about that was that the thin column we have in the current design (they've carried over the current design on the staging site, but Doug will be redoing it) won't work for putting in photos or videos, so we'll go to a width that will accommodate those things.

I actually may go back up on Saturday.  Not sure.  Its only about an hour drive.   Saturday they have the art show.  I'd like to go to that.  And eat more Dutch food.  If I go, I'm going to take my shoes and see if the guy who makes shoes can  file one spot on each shoe. Then they will be quite comfortable.

Don't get me wrong, I won't be wearing them for any period of time and if I ever do wear them, I'll take another pair of shoes with me.  Mine are made in Holland and they're intended to wear, so they do provide arch support and are carved out to sort of fit the foot. I just have a high instep

Well they had the basic carnival food with the carnival portion of the festival.  Had to get a funnel cake.   They have really good pastries with almond filling (Elmore ordered them from a Pella bakery once).  It's similar to German food.
