I'm meeting DR KevinH for lunch today :)
I am enjoying the French "Brain," BK. So, more selections, please.
Wouldn't it be fun to have some posts on the other boards we have - like in the Outside the Box board - where you can post your favorite episodes or casts. Or the book boards - I should think that would be fun.
Good morning, all.
Continued vibes and prayers for DR Mike's dad and for Mike and his whole family.
This is a shot of me the last time I attempted a triple lutz:
WHOA -- STOP THE PRESSES. I JUST GOT THE TIME-OUT THING AGAIN.
I have a Print-Screen image but have no idea how to save it and post it here, so here's a simulation of it. It appears right above the editing area when you first click on POST after typing a new reply. Clicking again posts the message fine.
The following error or errors occurred while posting this message:

Bugs? Spiders, roaches, bed bugs, ticks, mosquitos . . .
I get the timed out issue as well but I didn't post about it because even though it says you are timed out if you click try again, or post, or whatever it says, the post will go through. Timed out seems to happen when you take your time with a post, as Larry said, going away from the computer to look something up (there is no activity and the software thinks things have stopped) and then returning and finishing the post. SMF gets confused when you start again because you were "inactive" and now you're "active" Since the post isn't lost and the option to post again is always there and it's always gone through for me when I click I don't say anything when I get timed out.

In my case, I'd remained "active" working on the post. At no time had I stopped typing or formatting the post for more than a few seconds.
Since I need to go do some things right now, I'll close this tab without logging out. It would be good to know if my name disappears from all pages (since I won't "be on" any of them for a while). If I can, I'll check it myself from a friend's computer.
Bye for now!
And the word of the day is: SWOOPSTAKE!
You never could keep your legs closed.
AND...
I have other good news, for DR Ben and all of you others who have been following along on our great national emergency...
The picture files are recovered -- all 105 of them saved to my hard drive, and I've started anew on the Micro SD disc with a test shot on the phone camera. All is well. We should all sleep well tonight. Thank you, thank you.
DR Jennifer there was a preview for The Enders Game. Did you read it?

Ah. Now I know I'm back. :)
Hoosier daddy?

Hoosier daddy?
I believe it was Mr. Earles.

Hope we see a photo of DR DOUG R and DR KEVIN H
Well, I have to say I am loving the Forever Logged In (the title of my upcoming memoir) thing. Am I the only idiot who's been manually logging in and out multiple times a day for the past year?
Oy!!
Well, I'm staying home tonight. Charlotte has lost her voice and is not performing. On another failed social event, I am finding no one to take my extra ticket for VENICE at the Public Theatre on Saturday afternoon. I'm feeling like Typhoid Mary.
folks
My father could really use your healing vibes
He is still in the hospital and things are not good
thanks

I had a fantastic time in Fort Wayne.
I saw two performances of my play (LOMBARD), presented a "workshop" on writing for film, and did some Q&A sessions.
The people there treated me very well.
(I'm not sure how to post photos on this page, but I have some up on FB on both my personal and The Hollywood Legends pages.)
For those wondering why the picture icons are so small, why is DR Ben's picture much bigger?
Yesterday we saw the Star Trek movie in 3D and enjoyed it very much. DR George, to my relief, I didn't find it too loud.

Here you are! I had lasagne. Kevin had a pizza.

DR ChasSmith - great news about your photos being recovered. Tech problems for me always tend to "bleed over" and affect my mood about everything else in my life.
It's slimming.
Picked up a package and realized I am not better and certainly not ready for food and probably not ready to go to the Avalon at six-thirty.
Maybe something I had from Gelson's last night was bad - although I can't imagine why it would take twelve hours to be a problem.
Two different people on Facebook complained that they lost their LP version of the musical of Gone With the Wind. I direct them to Kritzerland.com to buy the CD version
They're a little late for GWTW on CD - it's been sold out for eight months, although I think we have a few left.
Back from a staff farewell luncheon at a fondue place called The Melting Pot. It was four courses: 3 kinds of cheese fondue (I just ate a few chunks of bread and the raw veggies), then a delicious salad, then chicken/beef/shrimp (I again opted for the veggies in a vegetable broth) with 6 kinds of dipping sauces, followed by fruit and sweets in 3 kinds of chocolate (one of which contained Bailey's). It was spread out over 3 hours, so I'm not "Thanksgiving" full. But still quite full. If you know what I mean. And I'm sure you do. :P
Bailey's isn't vegan, is it?
This page needs a spot of color:

This is a really interesting link:
http://www.furia.com/misc/genremaps/engenremap.html (http://www.furia.com/misc/genremaps/engenremap.html)
It's called "Every Noise At Once," and it is basically a sound map of all genres of music.
Hovering over a genre name and clicking on it gives you a pre-selected sound sample of music of that genre.
Clicking on the little arrow for that genre takes you to a new sound map, delving into further sub-categories or composers/artists in that genre.
I just received an update that my father has Apirating Pneumonia. Not sure what that is exactly.

This is pretty cool...but where are the "Broadway" or "theater" samples??
Welcome, new DR adamisland!

Found it..."show tunes," near the bottom. The sample is "I Get a Kick Out of You" by Sutton Foster.

And if you click on the little arrow next to that, you get a whole page of Broadway composers and performers.
TOD:
Roaches are probably my least favorite, with mosquitoes a close second, largely because they love my diabetic blood. On Saturday night, though, at my friend's party, flies took over the top spot. They descended on the food like a biblical plague. I had never seen so many flies in Texas before, and though all the food was covered up, they lingered. And irritated.
Some fine posting here late last night. What happened? Did vixmom drink the whole glass of wine?
They're wonderful. They had them in Africa everywhere and they work great. Trouble is, my friend Bonnie didn't have a single one. No one had ever seen flies like that before in town. Maybe she should invest in some. That way she'll never see a fly again.TOD:

John, have you ever tried these things?

EDIT: It happened again when I was posting this one, because it took me a couple of minutes to edit. That's two messages in a row. But HELL, I know I've taken an extremely long time to write some really long posts in the past. These were only a couple of minutes in the making. Definitely a new thing going on, in my experience.

Just hit the post button again and it should go through the second time.
I also read BKs new book while I was away; enjoyed it very much.

This has to be food poisoning. I can't eat anything. I'm going to buy some 7-Up and soda crackers. I hate this!
That's a great web page. Is it new?
Lemon yellow has never been your color, DR Slingblade.
I have never received one of these time-out things - but I'm an admin so maybe I wouldn't. But we're really gone through everything and can't find anything that would be causing it.

You know, I got back in bed at eight-thirty for about forty-five minutes, and when I got up I was hit with a huge wave of nausea that has not abated since. Why? If feels like food poisoning nausea, but how could that be when the last food I ate was at eight last night. wouldn't it have hit me sooner?
Frustrating and long day at work todayMe, too. I think Ginny's Monday rubbed off on us.

Nearing the end of "The Old Curiosity Shop." Nell has just died, and while I didn't quite laugh the way Oscar Wilde did, I can't say I was sorry to see her go. I'm ready for this book to end.
Oh, wait. She's dead but they're going back over it again.
Feel Better Vibes for BK
And now, I'm off. I've been at work for far too long.
Be back later. :D

Well, I just had a lovely bout of dry heaving, about five minutes' worth. I suppose since I haven't eaten since eight last night, there was nothing really to come up. It did make me feel a bit better, though. Not much, but a tiny bit.
TCB - Is a quart jar anything like a quarter jar they use for when people swear and have to put in a quarter?
Home from final dress for the Coat show. It is what it is, and for this age, it's pretty darned good. Now, I'm attempting to write some inspirational song for 8th grade graduation using tunes from Mary Poppins.
I have never received one of these time-out things - but I'm an admin so maybe I wouldn't. But we're really gone through everything and can't find anything that would be causing it.
If it was erasing our post when we timed-out, I would see it as a problem. I have had it happen about 10 or 12 times since we went live, but since all you have to do is hit the "Post" button, I see it as a non-issue.

I would try "Sister Suffragette." It would seem to lend itself to inspirational words.

What browsers are the people this is happening to using? IT has not happened to me on the new board.
I'm in that very wacky place of being weak from not eating - woozy and all - but not even wanting to have a saltine - a) don't want to eat anything that could then come up - dry heaves are as bad as I want - and b) I just don't feel like it.

Excuse me!Spoiler Alert!
After four years of off-and-on work on Mom's cookbook, I actually think I'm seeing an end to this. One recipe to add and a few minor details to go. Maybe within a couple of weeks.
Hope we see a photo of DR DOUG R and DR KEVIN H

Sorry, I was just reading along.
I love walking around my neighborhood. I haven't really ever done it every night. I find myself having some great conversations with different neighbors, the people you say "hi" to but don't really talk to very often. I realized a couple days ago that this neighborhood really reminds me of the neighborhood I grew up in - hills and all. It's a nice quiet neighborhood - well other than the attack down the street (one of my neighbors said I shouldn't call it a neighborhood murder because no one died until they got to the hospital).

It sounds like a very nice neighborhood. You are very lucky.
