Title: WILD SALMON
Post by: bk on June 17, 2013, 08:38:16 PM
Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of wild salmon, and now it is time for you to post until the wild cows come home - they're currently doing the shimmy and a back flip.

Good morning, all! I had very strange dreams last night: a trup to England - or was it Dublin? - and I was with Twiggy and several others waiting in line at a bank/train station, then Patricia Routledge and Robert Lindsay were swimming somewhere a la Poseidon Adventure, and then I awoke around 5:00am with an anxiety attack. At 6:30, I figured, the hell with it, and got out of bed.

Last night, I called my brother Randy, whose company is having a hard time staying afloat. He mentioned that his former partner Macbeth was totally unsympathetic, and I told him i was because the Macbeths managed to embezzle as much as they could before retirement. He also told me that if no work comes in for me, I can always relocate and stay with him and Jo. I think that's very kind, but I'm not sure I want to move back to Ohio. Still, after August, I don't know.

So, today is another Toyland day. I must stop at Lee's Art Supply on 57th and pick uyp some tape on my way downtown.

re: the calorie count being potentially wrong on BK's dish yesterday

I would think that they would be accurate. Why would they want to give something more calories than it has? That makes no sense.  Maybe they added extra stuff (like cream...) that you wouldn't automatically think were added to the dish.

TOD:

Comcast changed something earlier this year....and my computer could no longer use Windows Mail.  WM is a PopMail service so that all of my email at my main Comcast.net address was sent to it.  Comcast Mail has a terrible configuration, so I wasn't going to use that as my main email, and I hated to change to a Gmail or Yahoo account....

NOTHING and NOBODY would or could help me at Comcast.  It was a nightmare.  I used the Comcast email for awhile.....and then finally found Mozilla Thunderbird which was a PopMail service that was compatible with Comcast.net.

It was ghastly I tell you.  I was just ghastly.

Another day of frustration and misery! The last two hoursa have been unpleasant and I'm afraid there's nothing good in sight.  I supposedly have a team of people on ROBERTA so where the fast hell are they? I suppose with the current state of things, they're all running for other opportunities and I'm left holding the bag.

Now I have to schlep down to Pearl Paint on Canal Street, and of course there's no easy way from Toyland. Someone just shoot me.

I thought things were supposed to get easier the older I got.

Just got another two projects for Kritzerland.  Both have been available before, one at least three times, but I've been told on that one there is room for improvement, so if that's possible we will, but the composer is an immediate sale for most people so we'll definitely do it.  The other one is simply one of my favorite scores ever and it sold out very quickly three years ago - so I'm happy to bring it back with a new cover, new packaging and improved sound.

Graham Kerr moved to Tacoma (after he discovered God).  I don't know why he picked this city.  Maybe because fellow TC chef, Jeff Smith, lived here.  After a few years, he moved up north before finally settling in a house he and his wife had built in Mount Vernon, WA.

That's better than George Foreman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Foreman#Family_and_Private_Life) naming five of his sons and two of his daughters after himself!

Foreman has 12 children. His 5 sons are George Jr., George III ("Monk"), George IV ("Big Wheel"), George V ("Red"), and George VI ("Little Joey"). The 2 daughters from his marriage are Natalia and Leola; his 3 daughters from a separate relationship are Michi, Freeda George, and Georgetta. He adopted a daughter, Isabella Brandie Lilja (Foreman), in 2009; and another, Courtney Isaac (Foreman), in 2012.

I have indeed been cast as Man in the Chair for the August production of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE....ALL THOSE LINES!!!  So we shall see how it goes.  The other cast members are good, so it should be a lot of fun, anyway.

But first - ANGEL STREET.

Congratulations!

My worst tech situation happened back in the late 90s when I called AOL to help fix something. The guy made me do this and that on the computer and it fixed the problem, as I recall, but it also deleted 2 years worth of saved emails....ones I had wanted to keep saved!

I was very unhappy, but I survived.

I know Jane and Jennifer are avid readers.

May I recommend The Paris Wife.

My girlfriend gave it to me for my birthday.

I just started to read it and I love it.

It is loosely based on Ernest Hemmingway and his wife.

DR Kate - my book group just read The Paris Wife, one of my favorite recent books.

Nice to hear as I wasn't gung-ho on reading this.  I except it might be chosen as a book group pic so I will wait a bit before getting it.  I do have it on my wish list.

I hope this morning brings the news that DR Cillaliz is finally rid of the raccoon in the eaves.

Well I guess it's evening but the carpenter and the trapper did arrive at 8:00AM.  It's not easy to fix what the raccoon did. He's going to have to take off the custom made eaves, remove some other stuff.  Fix it and put the other stuff back.  He said a temporary fix was going to be just as much work as a permanent fix, but he said he can fix it on Thursday, so we're leaving it as is until then

I feel very confident in saying that the raccoons are gone.  Yes plural.  Almost every neighbor I've talked to lately has added another piece to the puzzle.  What I think happened is that the mother and her young ones, maybe 4 of them, came up from the storm sewer looking for a new den.  The kits were a couple months old.  One of my neighbors was walking his dogs and saw the young ones run up one of my trees.  He saw the mother and she was nasty looking enough that he took his dogs and backed off.   The dogs went crazy whenever he came near my house for about 3-4 days.  They are fine around here now.

What I'm thinking is that the mother was looking for a den, and found my house.  The only problem was we trapped one of the young ones and the trapper took it away.  She was around for a couple days looking for it and calling for it  and then finally took her other kits and left.  I think I heard them in the tree the last day they were here.   But, I'm convinced they are gone.

The big concern at the moment is that some other animal doesn't crawl in the hole the raccoon made.  We left the traps until the hole is fixed. I'm thinking by the end of the week we should be in a good place

Elmore, I believe this is the time to really push to sell that piece of property.  Only the Macbeths will be opposed to that now, and you can always have them burned at the stake as witches.
