Well, you've read the notes, the notes had balls, and now it is time for you to post until the ballsy cows come home.

And the word of the day is: DISPOSITIVE!

Good morning, all! Today is the 57th anniversary of the Andrea Doria disaster. When I was a kid, the articles and reports on the sinking fascinated me.
This is my housekeeping day: laundry and tidying up the shambles this apartment has become in the past week.
More later.
-
Good morning, all.
Oy! 6:30 was wa-a-ay too early to rise.
Sitting across the road from the ballsy cows.
More coffee!
-
We have thunder at 5:20 in the morning. Will we have rain? We might if Sugar and I go take our walk in a few minutes.

Good morning everyone.
Good morning to rain and thunder, sunshine and warm breezes, and a wonderful day for everyone.

Todays TOD:
I would love to be able to Golf.
A lot of my girlfriends just started to learn. My husband is a great golfer. In fact he just left for a golfing tournament.
I'm just afraid that I would injure myself.

Thursday morning greetings! After two days out and about, I'm relishing a relaxing morning puttering around the house. I do have to do some grocery shopping today and go to a membership recruitment event for AAUW this evening, but today will be much lower key than yesterday and the day before.

Last night I watch a DVD I have called 84 Charing Cross Road.
It stars Anne Bancroft and Anthony Hopkins.
I have watched it several times, and I still enjoy it so!
I guess only book lovers would love it like I do. I said to my hubby, thats where I would have liked to had worked. A beautiful bookstore in London surrounded by classical books.
-
Goodbye for Now!

TOD - Singing. I'd been told all my life I couldn't sing and some of my theatre friends here, including DR Elmore, encouraged me to start voice lessons at the ripe old age of 25. I learned enough to stumble through some musicals, but mostly to appreciate the talent it takes to do it well.
-
TOD: Continued
I would also love to be a great writer!
-
DR BK,
In regards to yesterdays discussion of writing another Adriana book, please do so!
It would be interesting to see how Adriana grows and matures.
And of course If you had a new character like Aunt Kate, her eccentric aunt, to guide her it would most likely sell like Hot Cakes, LOL, ( Just Kidding)
All joking aside I really do Love Adriana and the other cast of characters.
-
When my niece Sydney gets old enough, I will introduce her to the Adriana H. Series.

I'm Back!
Getting back to the movie 84 Charing Cross Road, there was a poem I espeially loved.
Anthony Hopkins, as Frank Doel reads a poem called HE WISHES FOR THE CLOTHS OF HEAVEN by
Williams Butler Yeats.
I think it is just beautiful. Here it is for all you poem lovers:
Had I the heaven's embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread soflty because you tread on my dreams
Does anyone else love this poem like I do?

Good morning, all.
The Silence has been placed on reserve at the library.

TOD: There are so many things in this world that I'd love to be able to do: Play the bassoon, have more of a green thumb, understand medicine and its effect on the body, balance my checkbook and know more about finances ...
I work at the gardening and my job is teaching me more and more about finances, but I doubt I'll ever play the bassoon.

I love Helene Hanff's UNDERFOOT IN SHOW BUSINESS and I just order Q'S LEGACY, which sounds wonderful. I always wanted to meet her. I loved the book 84 CHARING CROSS ROAD, I sorta liked the play on Broadway, and I have never seen the film.

TOD:
Like many other DRs, I'd love to become proficient in a foreign language or two. I used to be semi-fluent in Spanish, after studying for many years and then living in Madrid for a month, where I vowed to speak no English. It works!
I'd also love to learn to play the guitar and the cello, and to take the plunge, like bk did, and write a book.

I now have a new musical term to add to the lexicon thanks the DR SINGDAW'S link:
Loudon Tempo
-
Well we got through Act One last night.....so we will start with Act Two tonight....and probably work on some dance numbers. I messed up some lines last night, and I forgot a few.... But at least now I know I can get through it. The only line I forgot in a scene was during the Janet/Robert scene:
"This scene couldn't be more ridiculous...." So everything kind of came to a stop while I was waiting for them to continue.....

I would have liked to be able to play the piano. We had one at home when I was young but I had no aptitude for it and got not much further than playing "chopsticks".

Saturday night, we listened to a cheesemonger with a thick Texas accent speak in Italian. It prompted much laughter, but her Italian was surprisingly good, even if it sounded mangled and butchered almost beyond recognition.

That will probably have to be the title of the book that DR Ron Pulliam is asking me so politely to write. :P

I am dealing with a seller of movie memorablia who insists that I should be ok with my recent order of 10 vintage film booklets. I did order 10 film booklets, but 4 of those that he sent were were not the titles I had selected.
His response was that I paid for 10 booklets and I received 10 booklets. Oy!

Does the original eBay listing tell you to select 10 or get 10 randomly picked for you? If you are protected by the eBay listing, file a complaint ASAP. If you read it wrong, relax and think of England.

Well, DR JRand62, my Riddex sonic vermin repellers are lousy; I've now caught two mice in traps since I plugged those little buggers into a socket. And let me tell you, rotting mice stink to high heaven, and this one's only been dead a day at most. I've just mopped my kitchen and set two more traps.

I am so sick of Anthony Wiener; I wish this asshole and literal dickhead would get out of the mayoral race and go into hiding. His repellant wife strikes me as very ambitious, claiming eternal devotion through clenched teeth, because she's determined to be NYC's Cleopatra, Queen of Denial.
-
DR ELMORE I am so sorry they did not work out for you.....hmmmm....maybe NYC mice are immune or deaf.

DR CILLA LIZ did you get your new washer and dryer? Lowe's is having a 10% sale on all appliances over $399....and they have free delivery and take away of old appliances.

Hello again,
DR ChasSmith,
I respectfully disagree with you regarding 84 Charing Cross Road. I think that it transferred beautifully to the screen.
I suggest you watch the film in its entirety. Maybe you will change your mind!
-
DR Singdaw,
Its never to late to take up the guitar and cello!
Also write that book. I think you have the gift of writing.Your postings so far have been very humorous and clever. As I have said several times I love your quote about polyester.

Hey, Mikey:
CAVEAT EMPTOR!

Finessed notes and got them where they needed to go. Had some chicken tenders, picked up one package, although not an overdue one, and am now done for the day, save for maybe starting a new set of liner notes later tonight if I'm so disposed. Otherwise, it's just a jog at some point and relaxing, which is what I need.

Maybe the way things work is that you can order again something you don't want and he'll send you the wrong order again with the correct items from the first order.
Does that make sense? I'm not sure.

TOD:
I specifically would like to be fluent in French. I have the accent down, since I improv as a Frenchman in my corporate shows all the time. And just today at Ikea, I was behind two French girls who were gabbing away in their native tongue. Yeah, wanna learn that.
I'd also love to be better at piano. Had lessons early on.
However, I must first learn these lovely Kritzerland songs more better, as the kids say.
Onward....

Okay, this is officially making me want to vomit on the ground.
-
At long last page five.
-
Get me off this damn page NOW.
-
If you get me off this damn page NOW we'll have WON - because NOW is WON spelled backwards.

Expanded version of Audra's concert to be broadcast on PBS in August:

How wonderful. I love Audra!
Ditto. I watched the first part of the concert on PBS.
-
Another commercial. This time with my name:
These episodes were all filmed in the same weekend.
And the other:
:D
George, much appreciated but where is John's voice ;)
Sadly, that requires abilities far above mine.
;D

Greetings, all!
Onward....
I spoke a little bit of French when I was young. I wish I could remember what I forgot, same goes with Spanish, and speak both fluently.
I wish I had had not been forced to stop ice skating.
-
Our central air conditioner decided to stop working today and I'm beginning to wilt. Until Keith found the cell phone number he couldn't reach the people who service it for us. With the cell number all he could do was leave a message. For some reason the office phone only makes a loud beep.
-
The air guy will be here in the morning. I hope he can fix the problem.
-
Well, before my bath, we were on Page 4, so there's been some progress.
I've had to deal with cast photos for DEAREST ENEMY tonight. Too many of the production shots are too dark and not good enough to chop up for the booklet, so I've been gathering cast shots from Facebook and Google.
-
Annalene Beechey and Jim Cleverton.
-
Rhoda is on ME TV. It makes me wonder how Valerie Harper is doing.
-
Kim and Philip
-
I was looking through Shirley Jones' memoir and wanted to see if Bruce Kimmel was mention. My heart skipped a beat when I saw her mention "The Las Of Howard" the final episode Bruce appeared on The Partridge Family. I read on to see what she had to say.

Dorothy Loudon performing "Just Leave Everything to Me"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=FLXong7A3Us (https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=FLXong7A3Us)
Interesting details in the orchestration.
Since when is that number used in the stage show? It has always been I PUT MY HAND IN, except in the movie version.
-
Good morning, all! Today is the 57th anniversary of the Andrea Doria disaster. When I was a kid, the articles and reports on the sinking fascinated me.
This is my housekeeping day: laundry and tidying up the shambles this apartment has become in the past week.
More later.
There is a couple of very good books about the collision and the sinking. I think I have two of them.

I don't think that this from the show, but perhaps Jerry's Girls that she did on Broadway. I don't like the arrangement. Just a bit too slow for me.
-
Rachel and Hal; I just sent him an email for a better photo.
-
When my niece Sydney gets old enough, I will introduce her to the Adriana H. Series.
Have you read the entire series, yet?
-
Indeed, DR TCB, I think DR Mike is right - the clip is from "Jerry's Girls." I don't think there's anything wrong with the arrangement per se, but I agree that it would be great just a bit faster.
-
Why thank you, DR Kate! :)
-
Congratulations to DRs Cillaliz and John G. on your television appearances!
-
We can all say we knew you when!
-
I had to look up what it means to "gaslight" someone. Now I know.
The things a person can learn on HHW!

What am I doing, a monologue?

For someone who enjoys cruising so much I believe you enjoy these sinking ship stories a wee bit too much ;)
-
What am I doing, a monologue?
I know the feeling :)
-
It's a long way to
Tipperary Page 6.
-
Did I mention I'm wilting. It was only 103 here today, nothing compared to the temps others are dealing with. Still, of all days for the air to break down-lol
-
For someone who enjoys cruising so much
In more ways than one! 8)
-
I think I'm going to see if it is cooler outside.
-
~ ~ ~ COOL, REFRESHING and FIX-IT VIBES ~ ~ ~ for DR Jane!
-
Shayne you bloody tease - did she mention me at all? I would be very surprised if she did. And delighted, of course.

Does anyone know where DR singdaw is today? I expected to see a bunch of comments from him, but so far it's nada.
-
Thank you DR Singdaw.
-
'night

She mentioned the threesome she had with you and Dave Madden...........Not.
No she didn't. She mentioned the episode because she suffered from see sickness and she got hypnotized to cure it and to this day she doesn't get sick. But I did read on because
she also talked about Dey having the hots for Cassidy and he wouldn't have anything to do with her. So I thought you might have come into the story.
but nada.
-
Well, unless she read my book let's just say that Shirley never knew. I did tell Patrick about it, though :) I have a wonderful photo someone gave me last Christmas - me on that boat, playing the piano for Shirley. Maybe I'll scan it.
-
T.O.D.
If and when I ever master the English language, I would like to learn to speak Spanish fluently.
I was very proud of the small amount of Italian I managed to learn before I went to cruise the west coast of Italy. I would have been better off if I had taken my CDs with me on the ship, but I was pleased with my ability to communicate while I was there.
Of course, four years later, I couldn't tell you how to say hello in Italian.

HHW faves Jason G. and Brent B. on Sacramento TV talking about "Sugar:"

That was fun. Too bad they didn't get to sing.

Great photos, Elmore.
And thank you, George, for the photos. I hadn't done that yet. You saved me some time.

I think Mr. Barrett has some work done on his face. He looks very different from the last time I met him. But still looks great

This is why I take lessons. I resemble this way too much. :)
One advantage of the wheelchair. I don't have to take lessons, and I don't have to look like this.
-
Good evening. I spent the day around the Flagstaff AZ area. Very nice and cool up there.
-
I am dealing with a seller of movie memorablia who insists that I should be ok with my recent order of 10 vintage film booklets.
None of the above, as it was not an Ebay auction. He has a website which I ordered from. I sent him a list of the titles I wanted.
...and he sent me the titles he wanted me to have, evidently.
Did you pay with a credit card? Tell him you are going to report him.
-
I saw on another site Tabitha came up and BK's involvement in the first pilot episode. Well the second Adam came up in this news item regarding actor Dennis Burkley who passed away last week. http://www.cnn.com/2013/07/16/showbiz/dennis-burkley-obit/?iref=obinsite

That's a beautiful area. My business partner's family lives there.
-
I doubt that I can get us to Page 7.
-
At least, not by myself.
-
I hope Vixmom is okay.
-
You have done it before, TCB.
-
You can do it again.
-
I'm on my way out of here.
-
But I'll do my bit to help.
-
I read on that web site that will not be named, that Danise has had more problems. My thoughts and prayers to her.
-
Strange evening. Going away party after work for two people who aren't going away. They're just moving to other buildings on campus. I guess when you employ 15,000-16,000 people, that can seem like going away.
-
With that, I must head off.
-
But I'll do my bit to help.
Thank you. That was a hint.
-
Good night, all.
-
Okay

Good evening.
Saw Garrison Keillor and Prairie Home Companion on their summer tour tonight. It's always fun to see everyone doing their thing, but especially live. Long show, too -- three hours, and what he does for a "standing intermission" is walk into the audience and lead everyone in folk songs and hymns.
Naturally, this had to be at a nice but outdoor venue on the coldest night in weeks, and naturally it had to start misting, and then raining very lightly but persistently toward the end. But only a few non-hearty types left early, and it was a pretty fine evening.

That sounds like a nice evening.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
But I won't.
-
Just relaxing after watching a motion picture on Blu and Ray - completely weird movie, which I kind of just went with thanks to its quirky performances. This is one of the worst-reviewed movies of the last decade and it didn't even get a theatrical release, and it's easy to see why. After loathing pretty much everything from its once great director, this one at least held my interest for most of its eighty-three minutes. Then I made the mistake of watching the director's granddaughter's making of video. After watching that, I just realized this once great filmmaker is clearly out of his cotton-pickin' mind. And pompous as you can get. I don't know how exactly he can afford to fund a movie like this and have it lose every penny.

Cool...Garrison Keillor is coming to the Washington Center for the Performing Arts next season!

WUSSBURGERS of the world, unite.

Who you callin' a WUSSBURGER? :)

Glad you had a good time, DR ChasSmith - sounds like an ideal evening to me!

Except for the rain, maybe.

The time is

The tide is high and I'm movin' on....just not yet.
-
I'm watching "America's Got Talent." It's the results show for the first live show. I didn't vote (sue me) but I agree with a lot of the choices.
-
I thought I could make it to the changing o' the page, but I've plum run out of steam.
G'night, DR George!
-
Good night, Dingsaw. Sleep well.
-
What, we can't get to two damn hundred?
-
We're left hanging at 199?
-
Not on your tintype, pal.
