Well, you've read the notes, the notes were mixed and finished, and now it is time for you to post until the mixed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ANATOPISM!
-
Good morning, all!
We had a nice rehearsal with Vinny our pianist, Chrissy, Mary, and Aine, our three Couturier ladies, who act as our ladies' chorus and shop assistants. Their trio sounds quite wonderful, and we had a good time running through the dialogue. After rehearsal, Rob and I went for a snack, then he went for a walk, and I came back to the Club to chill out. I was in bed by 7pm and got about 12 hours sleep. I'm off to breakfast and a postcard run.
-
DR elmore3003 - thanks for the update; please keep them coming! So glad that the pain isn't keeping you from participating fully in the whole experience over there.
-
RE: "I'm Here" - bk, don't know how you keep coming up with these lovely ballads.

bk, did you do something differently with yesterday's Kritzerland release publicity? I'm pretty sure I didn't get the usual E-blast announcement via E-mail.
-
Lovely sunsets and sushi from DRs Jane and John G.!!! :)
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
Larry, glad to hear you're doing well in Dublin so far.
-
I've had a wonderful breakfast with Rob Berman and Patrick Cummings. As we were finishing up, Jason and his partner Glenn arrived, and we all chatted for a bit. Rob and Patrick left us, and then Jason, Glenn and I dished until 11:00.
I then walked down Grafton Street, and bought some postcards, before I walked to the Suffolk Street Post Office to purchase stamps. I am now back in room 7, covered in sweat: the temperatures are low but the humidity is high.
Our rehearsal begins at 3:00 today: Annalene, Eamonn, Jason, and Patrick. I am looking forward to it.
-
Good morning, all.
Woke up too early again, but decided not to fight it and just got the hell up.
Coffee!
-
A lovely ballad to start the morning with. And BK can tinkle those ivories!
-
And DR Elmore sure knows how to fly to Dublin, hit the ground running, and start living the life. Sounds like a great time already, and they've hardly begun.
Of course I shall look forward to receiving my postcard in due time.
-
Looking forward to BK's thoughts on BODY DOUBLE. I saw it once when it opened and remember nothing about it except there being various scenes taking place in and around the Chemosphere house ( http://goo.gl/6z9TcW ). Nothing else about the movie stuck with me, probably for a reason. It's the "Rear Window" one, right? Well, it's time to watch it, so I'll try to do that tonight so it'll be fresh in my mind when reading the notes.
-
I remember catching sight of the house while driving around, but don't recall where the vantage points are. Probably from Mulholland (?).

You don't need the HD monitor. I don't have one either. I do have headphones. I think if you have speakers on your PC (laptop or desktop) it will still work. It's just a series of higher and higher hertz sounds. I think they mention using headphones so that you can be assured that you will hear specific sounds. They explain how as we age, for most people, hearing declines and there is little we can do about it because, unlike some other body parts, the minute hairs in our ear drums, which help us hear, don't regenerate when they are damaged or destroyed.
-
Good morning, all!
I'm headed back to La Jolla for more rehearsals, but I had to pop on to wish everyone a wonderful day.
And I especially wanted to say, BK, what a beautiful song! I may have to borrow that to sing one day.
-
They might....but I never get any of it.
Well, gosh....darn!
-
Thanks, DR Ben. I'll have to try it when I get home. I'll bet dogs do better than people! :)

And fiddle-dee-dee, to boot!

LOL.....

I've been up for two hours, just trying to catch up with everything.
-
Chatted with Sandy about tonight's show, so she's all set.
-
eBlast went out as always - check your spam folders? Sometimes we do get bounce backs so maybe a couple didn't get through for whatever reasons, but our usual eBlast folks have been ordering.
-
singdaw, just checked and your e-mail address showed up as nonexistent in the bounce backs. Don't know why that happened. We had an astonishing 350 something undelivered e-mails supposedly for non-existent addresses. I went through the list and removed about one hundred people I know don't ever buy from us or have different addresses now, but I left the ones that should have gone through. We'll see how it works for the next title.
-
Thanks bk - I did check my spam folder first; nothing there. Not sure what happened, but wanted you to be aware, at least, that some of your regular blast recipients do not seem to have gotten the E-mail this time around.
-
Gosh, SlingClaw! We all had a blast and you didn't!

I shall soon be off to a pick up rehearsal of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE in anticipation of our re-opening tomorrow evening.......
-
I have been out for a delightful dinner with Rob, Patrick, and Annalene. Annalene had salmon, I had tuna, and Rob and Patrick had linguini with lobster. The dinner was a huge success, and we all had a wonderful time. This afternoon, we had a good rehearsal with the three principals. Jason Graae was a hoot and I'm really happy he's here. Annalene's "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" will be wonderful.
I need to get more energy in the spoken dialogue from Annalene and Patrick, but I think Kim's arrival tomorrow will kick everyone into high gear, especially when there's the threat that she and Jason will steal the recording.
-
Back from some chicken tenders and picking up two packages, although a third will be here late this afternoon thanks to the never reliable Ontrac. I'm supposed to pick up some tapes for an upcoming release but not sure if I'll do it today (they won't be ready till three) or in the morning - I kind of want to get them today, but it means I wouldn't jog until four - I guess that's okay.

Tuesday afternoon greetings! I left about 9:30 this morning for a blood test and errands before picking up my Mom for a huge grocery shopping. She worries about how physically exhausting these trips are for me. I don't have the heart to tell her that they're emotionally exhausting, too.

Long day of work at home that included the bird losing control and attacking me. Not happy with that. He's in his cage and it's covered. Time out for birdy.

Watching "56 Up." I love this series. I can't get enough of these people. I've seen each episode from the first, "7 Up," and it's like slipping back into the lives of old friends.

I wonder if the folks who dropped out along the way ever regret it? It can't be easy to expose your life like that to a mass audience.
-
Made a cherry-berry pie today. Only had one pie crust sheet, so I had to roll it out really thin and use the scraps to make the sloppy latticework. Bing cherries-raspberries-cranberries.

I doubt it. Some found it more invasive than others. What is interesting is that one or two dropped out of one segment and then came back again.

Hello, everyone.
Enjoyed today's song, Bruce.
-
Today is Car Day--again. I had the transmission rebuilt less than two years ago and I suspect that either something was wrong with the work or one of the parts were faulty. I'll probably never know, but I do hope that today's (expensive) repair will fix the problem. Of course, it's no longer under warranty. This garage guarantees the work for two years, not just one.
-
Since I'm sans wheels I took this opportunity to catch up on laundry. I'm stuck at home anyway, right?
-
Larry, I've been enjoying the Dublin posts. I'm glad you found some kind and helpful people at the airport and then got a good night's sleep. My recent ankle injury reminded me how unkind the world can be when you're not fully ambulatory.

DR JohnG, you bird hasn't been watching Hitchcock movies, has he?
-
You know, a lot of the posts on HHW make me very hungry.

Today I ordered Season 1 of RIPCORD. Look forward to seeing Allison Hayes' episode (titled PARA-NURSE) clearly...rather than the blurry gray market one that I have.
And as for the rest of the episodes...well, Larry Pennell is easy on the eyes.

I read the menu, and fainted.
-
I'm hungry reading all this food stuff.

Just gave Sandy her break a let talk. I'll hear about the show after.

Still haven't jogged, but will in about a half hour - then I must watch a motion picture and perhaps write some liner notes.

Sending vibes towards DC for a great show

Back from the library. I thought the version of the mini-series "Parade's End" that I requested was going to be the new one with Benedict Cumberbatch. Turns out to be an old one with a very young Judi Dench. I saw that for sale at Costco last week and almost bought it.
-
Five.
-
DR Jeanne - $o $orry to hear about your car trouble$. Hope that today's work does the trick. :P
-
DR John G. - your pie looks amazing. (And that is not a euphemism.)
-
We have been watching some old Dark Shadows episodes from the beginning of the series. Campy fun!
-
Didn't remember how extensive the music was on that series. It's pretty much non-stop underscoring for each entire half-hour episode. The cellist and the therimin-ist (??) certainly got the greatest workouts!
-
I'm back from Sandy's show. She was really terrific! She sang lots of songs I knew but several I'd never heard before, including one from a Debbie Reynolds movie. I think it's called "Our United State."
-
Sandy also sang "S'Wonderful," "Bidin' My Time," "The Man That Got Away," "Fascinating Rhythm," "My Ship," that song that Danny Kaye sang with the names of the Russian composers (very impressive) and "By Strauss," in which she really showed her operatic skills!
She gave a nice little speech thanking Bruce and Lanny. I enjoyed the informative patter about the songs and various composers who collaborated with Ira Gershwin.
I saw Sandy after the show and she was as extremely nice, as usual!
Thanks again, BK , for asking Sandy about the ticket. (I had tried to buy a ticket but the show was sold out).
-
Oh, there was a little poster advertising Sandy's upcoming album, "Simply!"
-
Goodnight!

Is that the song that Rex Reed performed for one of the S.T.A.G.E. benefits? That's a nice song. :)
-
Well, I must be going. I don't have rehearsal because I have a Theater Artists Olympia board meeting. I even remembered to bring along the bank info for the Treasurer's Report, which is especially good because I'm the treasurer and need to give the report. ;)
Be back later!

Sandy called and said it went very well - she described it as The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. But it mostly sounded like the good. She made one bad patter mistake but handled it like a pro and fixed it after the fact. Apparently the rap song I had her read the lyrics to got nice laughs. It sounds like it wasn't bad, especially as we've never really had a proper rehearsal with us all in the room - that's the most amazing thing. Thankfully, a lot of the patter I wrote, the history part, was already written for the Kritzerland Ira Gershwin show we did a year and a half ago. I'll be seeing a video of it. She'll probably do the Ira show at the Metropolitan Room in NY - but we'll have three or four days rehearsal for it, so that will be great.
-
Waiting for the tape guy to pick up the tapes I picked up today.
-
Otherwise, I've been listening to the Sandy mixes, most of which are great, but I do have some picks to nit on Sunday when we're back in the studio - just a handful of really minor things to slightly adjust - that's why I wanted to live with these before we go back - that way I come in with my handful of notes and we can go right to those spots and make those little adjustments.
-
I did do a three-mile jog.
-
I'm kind of hungry and I'm still under 1000 calories, probably closer to 900 so I may go get something like low-cal cheese and crackers or I'll just eat another two hundred calories of chocolate licorice. Then I don't have to go out.

Well, this never got to be the night to watch BODY DOUBLE, so that's on the agenda for some time tomorrow.
Great to hear the act went well tonight, and I really look forward to hearing when stuff will be happening in NYC.
