Well, you've read the notes, the notes were spent, and now it is time for you to post until the spent cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: REDOUND!
-
"Track 6" sure is gorgeous! :)
-
"Track 6" sure is gorgeous! :)
It's very nice!
-
Like these fudge rocky road bars gorgeous:

-
And the word of the day is: REDOUND!
I love that word!

Never wear pink at a ball. Or attend a Bavarian finger-wrestling competition.

-
Oh, my!

-
Good morning, all! I am off to our first recording session. I've just come from breakfast with Annalene, Rob, and Judy Sherman. We saw Jason running along Stephens Green and waved to him.
Full report later!

Chicken salad/bacon melt, on a wedge:

-
(In case you're thinking beyond breakfast to lunch...) :)
-
Have to go get ready to sing for the people.
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
Of course, there's always breakfast cake, too...
-
Good morning, DR Ben! :)
-
Good Morning-- I think I'll go with the breakfast cake.
-
Oh wow those pics of ribs and brisket look so good. I want them both!
-
DR Vixmom sounds like you did some good shopping.
Did the manager at the restaurant bring Vixdad an appetizer or something? It can't be helped if something slips by accident. But to me the part i hate is when everyone is eating but one person has nothing and is just sitting there.
-
That picture of fudge just reminded me that i have a wrapped piece of fudge in my purse. Our pool hosted a huge 22 pool swim meet final yesterday. And there was a big bake sale.
-
Good morning, all.
Nice Track 06, but I have no CLUE as to movie or composer or anything.
But I love the idea of posting mystery clips!
-
I'll have the ribs and brisket and the chicken salad/bacon melt.
And a Coke.
-
Question for DR John G.:
What was the BBQ component in the ribs, etc., you posted last night? These didn't look to be slathered in sauce like you'd get at, say, Dickey's. (Do you like any chains like Dickey's?) Very very subtly slathered in sauce? Dry rub? (Is there any such thing in the Lone Star State?) Nothing at all? -- Just a wonderful smokey taste?
-
good morning to all
-
very nice piece.
i thought that there might have been a clue with the voice counting down the take info
-
a wonderful smokey

today is a rare Sunday where i have to work
-
Nice track 6 - but I too am still in the dark....composer/film wise.
-
Thanks to all for the vibes....the final performance of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE was fine....set is struck, props put away, and costumes being washed or dry cleaned.....on to HARVEY in which I am doing NOTHING.
-
Condolences to DR GINNY on the loss of her uncle.
-
Is no one going to say PAGE TWO?
-
Good morning!
-
catching up on the notes from previous days.
Happy trails to DR Singdaw on his move.
-
I don't want to say they didn't want my brother-in-law onstage, but his biggest credit is understudying the title role of HARVEY.
-
It's time for another edition of The Broadway Radio Show! The latest has been posted for your listening enjoyment. This time we look back at the career to Eydie Gorme. She may have only appeared in 1 Broadway show, but she sang a lot of showtunes, many of which you'll hear. Eydie was truly one of the great pop vocalists of her era. I hope you enjoy!
-
Condolences to Ginny on your loss.
But encouraged so much to hear the news about Richard.
-
Thanks so much, DR Mike!
-
And the word of the day is: REDOUND!
And The Song Of The Day Is: I PUT MY HAND IN
-
on to HARVEY in which I am doing NOTHING.
Funny... I thought that number was from A Chorus Line. ;)
-
I PUT MY HAND IN
You certainly do! ;D

Good morning, all.
Glad to read you got the title role of your next play, JRand.

ChasSmith, Texas barbecue is its own unique creation. The word here refers to smoked meat, especially brisket. Rubs are used, but are not mandatory, mops are sometimes used to baste the meat, but sauce is not mandatory. It's usually something you use on the slice of white bread that too often lands on a plate.
Sauce is a way to salvage or resurrect overcooked meat. Or you might find meat "dipped" in something that's like beef broth to moisten it.
But the real flavor of a perfectly prepared brisket is a simple of rub of little more than salt and pepper with the fat side up, so that it can melt into the meat as it smokes. It takes skill to find the right temperature and wood to do that. You'll hear plenty of malarky about that from the pitmasters. What it boils down to is that these guys know what they're doing.

Sunday
morning afternoon greetings! We are taking it very easy today, which is unusual for a Sunday. I've been up since about 8, but Richard slept late making up for all the sleep he lost in the hospital. We are expecting Rob for a short visit early this afternoon and I'm doing laundry.
-
Thanks for the condolences on the loss of my uncle. I'd "lost" him once before, when he and my mother's sister went through a bitter divorce. We'd reconnected at my cousin's wedding 5 years ago and my sister and her husband just had a visit with him earlier in the summer. It makes me sad that Richard and Rob never got to meet him.
-
Donald posted a new radio show and it looks like I will be on the air today also. My dear friend, Alex Hall (an actress), from BBC Tees (an area in northeast England) is calling me in about an hour and we will talk about Pippin and the 25th Anniversary production of Phantom. The show is called "Songs from the Show". Alex is the presenter and plays show tunes for 2 hours. I love the show and listen every week.
If you want to listen (the show is on air already, it's 2 hours from noon to 2pm Eastern Standard Time) you can go here
BBC Tees (http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbctees/programmes)
Click Listen Live and the iPlayer will load and begin streaming the show.
I'll be on at about 1:15pm Eastern Standard Time and the chat will be about 15 minutes.
If you don't want to, or can't, listen live I'll send out the usual e-mail blast to people on my list with information about listening and I'll post a link to TuneScoop after the program is over and I've clipped out my segment.
-
DR Ginny,
Condolences on the passing of your Uncle. I am glad that you did reconnect with him five years ago.
-
Today is one of the August days I like - my sister's 72nd birthday!
-
DR Ginny,
Condolences on the passing of your Uncle. I am glad that you did reconnect with him five years ago.
Thanks, DR Kate. My cousin's marriage didn't last, but I'm glad there was a wedding...
-
DR Ginny,
Your most welcome!
-
Yesterday My Son, Matthew and his dog Henry paid us a visit. Henry is quite the character. He is a Wiemar. He weighs about 80 pounds and loves to jump on counter tops.
My son is giving me guitar lessons. He is a great teacher. I am really learning a lot.
After I practiced my lessons and drills we did a little jamming. I play Rhythm and he plays the lead.
I also sing. Last night we mostly did early Beatle tunes.
I really enjoyed my time with him! He is a wonderful and handsome son!
-
a few days ago we had our kitchen ceiling repaired. The contractor did a great job.
Our kitchen is really shaping up. Our son, Matt, gave his approval.
We did a brass theme over our cupboards. Everything is goldish or brass.
We have new dinnerware that is Artisan style and is a reddish color. Also I purchased two red tufted chair pads.
You would never know this kitchen is in a mobile home.
-
The hubby is golfing.
I still believe in relaxing on Sunday. I don't believe in doing any unnecessary work.
It should be a family day.
When I was growing up we always had a wonderful dinner on Sunday. My mom was a fantastic cook.
She would usually invite her best friend over and sometimes her Daughter and Son/in Law.
Those were great times!
-
I'm up, I'm up, a little later than planned, but I needed the sleep.
-
As always, a wonderful radio show by Donald here at haineshisway.com - Eydie was amazing.
-
DR Ginny. Pleased to hear that Richard is on the mend.
-
The interview is over and went very well. When all the technical aspects are finished I'll post a link.

Watching HARLOW on Blu-Ray ... it looks better, but it's still the same bad movie...
-
And I am back at the Hibernian Club, in my spacious room, after a long day. We began at 11:00, with a couple of orchestra pieces to do sound check and get them out of the way. Then we recorded the Jason-Annalene duet "Let's Begin." During orchestra break, we recorded some of the spoken dialogue, did a couple of more things and ended up with Kim and Jason's "I Won't Dance." We finished early.
In the afternoon, we first did Annalene's two editions of "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes," the show version with all of its dialogue inserts and the standard version. Because we decided to do the second version last week, we lost time today to do Annalene's version of "You're Devastating." Then Diana recorded "Yesterdays." During the orchestra break, we recorded more dialogue, then recorded "The Touch of Your Hand." When the orchestra cleared out, we recorded the dialogue we needed. I think we're in good shape. Tomorrow is a big day with everyone doing bits and pieces.
My leg was fine most of the day and decided to act up as we left tonight. I am staying in and doing nothing. I hope to be in bed shortly.
-
Watching HARLOW on Blu-Ray ...
I wonder if anyone ever made a movie called HARLOT? :P
-
DR elmore3003 - glad that the first recording day went so well!
~ ~ ~ CONTINUED LEG VIBES!! ~ ~ ~
-

Did the manager at the restaurant bring Vixdad an appetizer or something? It can't be helped if something slips by accident. But to me the part i hate is when everyone is eating but one person has nothing and is just sitting there.
they did offer him a salad or appetizer but he has already had a cup of chili and a salad and he feared if he ate anything else he would not eat the steak when it did come
Thanks to all for the vibes....the final performance of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE was fine....set is struck, props put away, and costumes being washed or dry cleaned.....on to HARVEY in which I am doing NOTHING.
so you are playing the title character?
-
Ok that is really weird that should have been two separate posts if this post somehow ends up with the above two...
-
Condolences to DR GINNY on the loss of her uncle.
oh dear I somehow missed this news - I am very sorry for your loss, Ginny
-
Today is one of the August days I like - my sister's 72nd birthday!

I need to find the timings of the show but I've already clipped out my segment since I recorded it as I was streaming/being interviewed.

Last Tuesday the young man who, with is father, fixed my house after the raccoon saga died in a motorcycle accident in Colorado. He was only 19. I didn't know him very well, but was saddened to hear about it. He was such a nice kid.
-
I was really tired all week. Some of it is allergies and some of it was just not being able to get to sleep early enough. So, by the end of the week I wasn't exactly getting anything done at work. I hate it when that happens
-
Yesterday I went on a shopping spree. I didn't mean to, lol, but I really needed to. I was in the habit of dressing very casually when I wasn't in court and dressing in suits etc when I had court. Well, I've gone from court almost every day to rarely going to court. It occurred to me that I rarely dress up anymore and even though it hasn't hurt my practice, I miss it. So I went through my closet and moved all the good clothes but way to small to a different closet so whatever I pick out to wear will fit me. I'm actually excited about that.
-
It's 8:15pm in Dublin. I hope Larry is in a nice, big, cozy bed sleeping soundly!
-
Today I need to go through the closet that has my casual stuff in it and donate what I'm not going to wear to Good Will.
-

DItto
-
Good sleep vibes and more recording vibes for Elmore.
-
Started a film noir called "5 Against the House" in which Brian Keith is supposed to be a college student. He looks at least 35 and like he has no idea what a book is. But Kim Novac looks swellegant.
-
So far today I have gone to church where I had a light day - I was just the Lay Reader and overseer of the coffeehour
-
DR Vixmom - I've been meaning to say that I love your new hairdo and avatar! :)
-
OH NO!!!! I just realize I missed DR Vixmom's birthday. I am SOOOO sorry. Hope it was fabulous
The best part was the wishes here Saturday was much better!
-
Leftover brisket and sausage today for lunch.
-
Lamb chops, roast potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli and carrots for lunch today.
-
Back from finalizing all the mixes for the Sandy Bainum CD. Lanny had just a handful of nitpicks and it all went very quickly - so, we're locked and now turning our attention to the packaging.
All the mixes sounded just as wonderful as I remembered them sounding and all the notes I'd taken based on the mp3s were null and void because those mp3s were just not indicative of the real deal.
-
We did have Astroburger - I had my bacon cheeseburger and zucchini fries. I'll jog in an hour or so..
-
Hmmm, trying to figure out if and when I can swing a trip to NYC this fall. Good grief, hotels are outrageously expensive in October and November. I'm not going to book anything until Band starts. Last year they changed the dates of our concert and didn't announce them until our ice cream social. That's on September 4, so I'll take another look at things then
-
Get me off this damn page.
-
Flights are outrageous now - I can't believe anyone is paying those prices but people are funny that way - they seem to enjoy being taken advantage of and pay those prices, which is why the airlines can keep charging them. Believe me, if people said, as they have in the past, "No, I will not travel if those are the prices," then suddenly the passenger count dips quite a bit, and voila, suddenly airline prices are reasonable once again. It's really that simple.
-
Yeah, try flying from the middle of nowhere. We have one airline that flies from Sioux City (we had 3 in the past). So, you either pay what feels like a ransom demand to fly from here or you drive about 100 miles to pay still high air fare and pay crazy parking fees. You can't win. I really do want to go, but now I'm thinking it may be two nights rather than three or four. I also have to board Callie and pay those fees and then find a cat sitter for the other two. Since that's essentially three days I'm figuring between the three cats it's another 125-150 dollars. Don't mean to gripe about it, but man it adds up quickly
-
DR Ginny. Pleased to hear that Richard is on the mend.
Thank you, DR Doug R!
-
Condolences to DR GINNY on the loss of her uncle.

DR Ginny, I missed it too, so sorry
Thank you, DRs Vixmom and Cillaliz.

I'm not sure we'd be going to NYC in November if we hadn't each been awarded a United Airlines voucher for $125 as compensation for the trip from h*** home from London.
-
Griping about airfares is always allowed here at haineshisway.com and should be encouraged.

Page four?

I'm not sure that will work. I have two hearings set that week, but I'm not ruling anything out. I can usually work something out with my hearings if necessary
-
Today was a lazy day for me. Sundays should always be a day of rest.
I didn't sleep much last night. So today, I fell asleep on the couch. I also leafed through my fashion magazine. It makes me laugh. They show clothes for woman in their Twentys to Fifties.
I guess after fifty you should just throw in the towel and wear sweats and give up. LOL
As for me never, I will always love fashion and try to look and dress my best every day!

Tonight PBS Masterpiece Theatre, is presenting a version of Alfred Hitchcock's
"The Lady Vanishes at 9:00 PM, EST.
The hubby and I plan to watch it.
Later I'll critique it!

DR BK,
Have you ever seen "The Lady Vanishes?"

Thanks for the heads up. It's on here at 9:30, just set the DVR

DR Ginny, I am looking at the November dates first and will try to make it work. There is a possibility but it depends on getting one of the two cases resolved...something I've been trying to accomplish for months
-
DR Cillaliz:
I noticed that you mentioned being in court. Are you a judge or a court reporter or a lawyer?
-
Goodbye for now!
-
DR Cillaliz:
I noticed that you mentioned being in court. Are you a judge or a court reporter or a lawyer?
I'm a lawyer
-
I'm a lawyer
But we don't hold it against her. ;)
-

I understand.
-
Yes, I've seen The Lady Vanishes many times and have written about it here many times.
-
Back from a three-mile jog. I am sitting here and as I sit here literally every ten seconds a new spam is arriving in one of my accounts - it is so irritating (there's another) and I just want these people to suffer.
-
i used my air miles for when i travel next to montreal
-
Very nice radio talk, DR Ben.
-
Page four is a bore.
-
And we're not near getting off of it.
-
We need a frenzy or five.
-
Maybe some fruit is in order.
-
(http://i1282.photobucket.com/albums/a532/singdaw1/fruit_zpsbe9caa5d.jpg)
-
That's fruit. In order.
-
See what I did, there? 8)
-
My eyes are bleary.
-
Big all-day project nearing completion.
It will be a relief to have this done - I think i will sleep better tonight.

I sense a page turn imminently...
-
F-I-V-E........5!
-
Page five? Page five?
-
Get me off this damn page NOW.
-
Got some melon balls and some cherries, in order.
-
Finishing up Love Me Tender.
-
took my elderly parishioner to lunch today at a local diner where I was surprised and pleased to find "Irish Breakfast" on the menu.
So, channeling my Inner Elmore in Dublin , I was very happy to tuck into eggs over easy, 2 Irish sausages, three slices of Irish bacon, 2 pieces of black pudding and a broiled tomato - also rye toast and orange marmalade
-
Nobody ever mentions the Cybill Shepherd remake of "The Lady Vanishes" with Elliott Gould. Her impersonation of Adolph Hitler during her dance routine is a classic.
-
Back from a very nice dinner and a trip to an old-fashioned cocktail lounge.
-
Now to get some work done.
-
then I came home and sold my 1995 station Taurus wagon to my friend. She was in need of a cheap car and I was in need of disposing of the station wagon before the next insurance payment and reregistration became due. At my urging she took the car to her trusted mechanic for his blessing before I would let her buy it
-
and then I ran some errands and suddenly my weekend was gone

Excellent.
(the lounge) :)
-
I had the Irish whiskey tonight, ChasSmith. Kilbeggan. Nice. Not too heavy for 102 degree weather.
-
Vixmom, the big breakfast sounds wonderful. But you left out the baked beans. Were there baked beans?
-
The 1936 (James Whale) SHOW BOAT is being shown on TCM Tuesday night at midnight, eastern.
-
Vixmom, the big breakfast sounds wonderful. But you left out the baked beans. Were there baked beans?
there were no baked beans, grilled mushrooms or HP sauce so it wasn't perfect but it was pretty good!
-
where's everybody?

Thanks, I really would love to go when you are there, though, so let's see what happens
-
I'm here, but about to go up to bed. I'm going to try to get more sleep tonight. Need to get up early enough to figure out what I'm going to wear, lol.
-
For me, Fall has always been the start of a new year. I always loved it when school started and I got new school clothes. And we moved back home from the lake. I loved living on the lake, but there were no kids around my age at all so I was always glad to get back to school and back to my friends. Of course that was umpteen years ago, lol. Even so, school started here so I feel like it's a fresh start. I love that feeling
-
By the way it's the 30th Birthday of DNs Jon and David. That means I started law school 30 years ago. The two events aren't related, I just remember they were born the year I started law school near where they lived at the time. I went over on weekends to help out.
-
DR Samantha is expecting her next son in October. That's another part of the reason I'm not sure when I'm going to try to travel. Of course most of the women in the family thing I'm irrelevant when it comes to babies since I haven't had one, but I just ignore that attitude
-
Had some of my home made strawberry ice cream tonight. It was very tasty. I have about one serving left.
-
It was a good weekend, but quick. That retail therapy felt really good. I went out Friday night and listened to some music with some friends. Two acoustic guitar players - both very good. The rest of the weekend was just working around the house.
-
Actually the best thing about the weekend was that I stayed home. I've already been to see my parents twice this month. Mom wanted me to go up again until I reminded her she's seen a lot of me this month
-
Happy birthday, DNs Jon and David.
-
Had a great noir on tonight, Murder by Contract, which had an excellent score. Didn't care for the rushed, overly moralistic ending, but the rest was surprisingly good.
-
And that's all for me tonight.
Good night, all.
-
Happy birthday, DNs Jon and David.
Thanks! DN Jon went to NYC with me and met a number of DRs. I'm pretty sure that was before you joined us, John G
-
Time for me to venture upstairs. We have a busy week scheduled and I was in major brain fog last week.
-
Samantha was just a child when I met her. How time flies.
-
Listening to the masters for more upcoming projects. For the first time in Kritzerland history we're actually ahead a little.
-
Today, I went with several other Theater Artists Olympia board members to our storage unit. We went through all of the costumes and pieces and got rid of a lot of stuff that we no longer need. One thing that was no longer needed was the Brain helmet that was created for TAO's production of "The Brain From Planet X." Well, I decided to keep it for myself. I just couldn't let it go to Goodwill or worse, the trash!
I now have my Halloween costume!! I'll just need to get a big black cape. :D
-
I stayed less than two hours, but I have a sunburn! My forehead and the back of my neck are the worst. But I'll recover.
-
After working at the storage unit, I went to my parents' house to celebrate my dad's 75th birthday (which is on Tuesday). My sister and I got him a new computer. It has Windows 8, so that'll take some getting used to, but since he usually only uses it for games and a little bit of net surfing, it might not be a problem for him.
-
However, his "big ticket item" birthday gift was from my mom...she bought him a car! It's not new, it's a 1990 Elantra, but she got it from someone she knows. She had it checked out and the mechanic said that it had been taken care of very well. My dad has a small pick-up truck that has died a couple of times recently, so he needs transportation that's more reliable. AND just today, someone rear-ended him and took off! There really wasn't much damage, just a dent, but still the guy just took off.
How rude! >:(
-
But my dad loves the car! It has power steering, power brakes, power windows...he's never had a car that had all that.
