Well, you've read the notes, the notes were white and noisy, and now it is time for you to post until the noisy cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: APHERESIS!
-
Morning all.
That is all.

i always have a question on other days that i plan to save for "as bk" day, but when it rolls around i forget what that they are. i write them down but i forget where i put them.
-
Oy!
Allergies are tough today. I look hung over. I'm not.
-
Good morning, all.
Got a much better sleep than the night before, but still woke WAY too early. But what else is new? Hmm, let me check.
-
Ask BK:
Please describe the ham and swiss -- type of bread, mustard, anything else included, etc.
I haven't ordered one in years, but a ham and swiss was my mainstay when, lo those many years ago, I started getting sandwiches from a small deli/grocery to take back to my room in college. I had it on something like a kaiser roll, with mustard, with tomato and lettuce back then. I'm not a purist when it comes to ham and swiss, so I can take it various ways. But I wouldn't go back to the kaiser roll. When I'm in the mood for it now, I gather up some Boar's Head rosemary & sundried tomato ham (it's subtly flavored, and is such a nice difference from plain ham), Finlandia aged imported swiss, a freshly store-baked loaf of seeded rye, and some deli mustard. As I type this, the addition of thinly sliced tomato and a little bit of lettuce does sound rather good.

I don't know "Les Sylphides", but this looks intriguing:
Mystery of the Missing Music: Benjamin Britten’s Lost Score for ‘Les Sylphides’ (http://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/28/arts/music/benjamin-brittens-lost-score-for-les-sylphides.html?ref=music&_r=0)

Very interesting! Thanks for that link, DR ChasSmith.

Happy toidy-toid, DR Ben! :)

New York Anniversary congrats to DR BEN!
-
Perhaps I shall see if my bargain GIRL dvd's are extended versions or not....sometime today.
This evening I am going to take photographs of the HARVEY cast & staff and work on the slide show for the lobby. I need to take one production photograph to meet the early deadlines of a couple of print publications....and I hope the director understood that I do not need EVERYONE in costume....just a few people in a pose..... BYE BYE BIRDIE a couple of seasons ago had everyone dressed, so I felt compelled to take a group photo.....
-
Congrats to DR GEORGE....and vibes for his opening night tonight!
One of my favorite newspaper stories concerned a policeman's gun discharging at a prison:

Wednesday morning greetings! Today I'm going to the noon book group at the library where my career began 40 years ago. We're discussing The Light Between Oceans by M. L. Stedman.
-
Happy Anniversary to DR Ben! You moved to NYC right before Richard and I became engaged.
-
Good morning, all! Yesterday was another meds-free day until I went to bed. About an hour after I turned off the lights, my left ankle began throbbing again so I took the Tylenol w/codeine. On Friday I plan to take lots before the MRI so that I can hopefully lie still and flat on my back. This problem is getting old.
So, another day of lying about. I'm beginning to get bored. I really can't do much until the Man from Philadelphia pays my Dublin invoice, and I'm currently very unhappy with my employer.
Thanks for the Britten article, DR ChasSmith. As a big fan of Britten's music, I hope that his arrangement gets a new recording. The ballet "Les Sylphides," as I recall, is a non-story ballet for one man and a lot of ladies in long white tutus. I've only seen it on video, but I have recordings of three different otchestrations: "Chopiniana" (original Russian version) orchestrated by Glazunov, and the orchestrations of Roy Douglas and Leroy Anderson. I also believe that the Glazunov score uses different Chopin pieces.
-
Congrats to DR GEORGE....and vibes for his opening night tonight!
Ditto from me!
I always think you moved to NYC before I did, DR Ben! I'm on my 34th year.
-
Thanks, my friends!
-
George, happy opening. Hope the sunglass bit gets laughs.
-
We will be spending the Labor Day long weekend on Long Island. It can't come soon enough.
Anthony is going out today to take care of some things that need attention.
Right now I'm listening to Whoop-de-Doo.
-
Congratulations and Happy AnniversarNyC to DR Ben! :)

Good morning, all.
Happy anniversary, Ben!
Break-a-leg vibes for George.

Oy!
Allergies are tough today. I look hung over. I'm not.
I couldn't have said it better. More nasally, perhaps. But not better.
-
BK, would you ask Richard Sherman a question or two? Has he seen the new stage version of "Jungle Book"? Does he has any direct work on the show? Is it still headed for London instead of New York? The reviews made it sound great.
-
Thanks, Cillaliz!
-
Show vibes for Matthew.
-
Richard Sherman was at the ceremony in June when Stage One at the Disney Studios was renamed The Annette Funicello Stage....he said some very nice things in the interviews..... MR BK's neighbor was also there.

BK:
Do you know how many calories you actually burn, on average, in a 2-mile and a 3-mile jog? Do you use a pedometer to measure that and whatever various other things a pedometer can measure?
You like to aim for something like 1200 calories intake of food per day. Is that a net figure (after jogging), or is that the maximum, period, that you want to take in, and however much comes off with the jogging comes off?
-
DR JOHN G - I guess what we were talking about last week....is true....

Wish fulfillment? Or three years of talking? It looks like the originally scheduled director is not being mentioned any more.
-
If a thing can be found on the Interwebs, you know that it's GOT to be true! 8)

Where is everybody today?

This sounds like fun, even if TCB will avoid La LuPone:

Yup...and now the star is the producer.....
-
Where is everybody today?
I, for one, was at the black hole of the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles.
I don't wish that fate upon anyone.
-
But I passed the time in line reading your previous book on my Kindle, so there was that. :)
-
Hello Everyone:
DR BK:
What is your favorite meal?
-

Very simple - ham and swiss and lettuce on rye with regular French's mustard
-
BK, would you ask Richard Sherman a question or two? Has he seen the new stage version of "Jungle Book"? Does he has any direct work on the show? Is it still headed for London instead of New York? The reviews made it sound great.
He's been involved at every step and has been in Chicago several times already.
-
I like to net 1200 calories. So, that means if I jog off 300 worth I can really eat 1500. If I were running double what I am in terms of speed, I'd be burning 700 calories or thereabouts on a three-mile jog - I base that on what I do on the treadmill. So, basically I know I'm jogging off 200-300 for sure, probably close to the latter when you add in the planking and the sit-ups.
-
Hello Everyone:
DR BK:
What is your favorite meal?
Changes all the time. I can't really eat several of my favorites right now, until I've lost the last bit of weight. But I love many kinds of meals.
-
Oh, and I'm up. Again, just eight hours and I really need more right now and I would have had it had there not been someone obnoxiously knocking on my door at 9:45 - tree trimmers asking me if that was my car parked in front. It wasn't.
-
Poltergeist II has sold out.
-
Sold Out!

The Miracle Worker arrived in Indiana yesterday.

Congrats to DR GEORGE....and vibes for his opening night tonight!
One of my favorite newspaper stories concerned a policeman's gun discharging at a prison:
"....one trusty was shot in the excitement....." You know that HAD to hurt!
Thanks, Jack and Larry and Ben and singdaw and John G., :-* but tonight is actually our second preview night. Tomorrow, we're dark (the space is booked for something else...although, we might get together at someone's house for a speed read-through) and Friday is our official opening night. :)
-
First day of school with the kids!! I went around to each classroom, we sang "Sing" (Joe Raposo's song) and I always remind them that the lyrics basically outline the rules in my class and the easy way to get an A if you follow what the lyrics say. It was great to see them all again. I'm off until next Wednesday, which is nice.
-
I just BBQ'd some chicken and am going to finally resume work on the musical I'm working on.
-
But I passed the time in line reading your previous book on my Kindle, so there was that. :)
Well, I hope it didn't put you to sleep.

DR John G - what is your book?

Poltergeist II has sold out.
You've sold out, once more...Hoo and Ray!!!
Looking forward to hearing it, with baited breath anxious ears~
-
Ahhh.....well preview vibes then DR GEORGE.
I am off to take some photographs.
-
I have spent the afternoon listening to the final masters of DEAREST ENEMY, since I need to sign off on them before we can proceed. They sound great.
No check from the Man in Philadelphia. I am not amused.
-
Page three?
-
Really?
-
I think the Darling Daughter is on her way over for a visit, then I must jog, then get ready for dinner with the Shermans.
-
Stalled? on Page Three?
-
STALLED ON PAGE THREE could end up as the working title of my new bestselling autobiography.
-
Where in tarnation....!?
Oh my god. Maybe I'm the last human being on Earth.

The Music Man is on TCM tonight at 8:00PM EST.!
-
The Courtship of Eddie's Father is on TCM right now.
I really enjoyed that movie, and I really like Glen Ford!
-
I just had a nice phone call from Rob Berman to check on me. I told him I was going stir crazy. I am so tired of being housebound that getting out for dinner tomorrow night will be a blessing.
-
I have no idea why we are still on page 3.
-
I doubt I have enough to write to make Page 4.

DR John G - what is your book?
Barbecue Lovers' Guide to Texas. A bit broader topic than merely San Antonio.

Elmore, when is the release of Dearest Enemy?

Weird day at work. Everybody around me seemed to be in overdrive. I got a lot accomplished, but I've been fairly calm.
-
Off to dance class.

But not before ...

At long last ....

-
Elmore, when is the release of Dearest Enemy?
It is up on up on Amazon now, and the release date is Oct 8.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I never expected our posts about white noise to make it to the title of the Notes. I guess one must work with what one has.
-
I really feel for your daughter, Bruce. This must be quite difficult on her. I do wish it all works out well for her.
-
I'm listening to the Leith Steven's score to The War of the Worlds. What wonderful music, with that edgy fifties SF sound I so dearly love!
Later tonight, I'll do some writing, and have cookies and milk, all the while avoiding this horrid Minnesota heat wave. Come on, ninety degrees and high humidity? What's the world coming to?
-
Long ago, I was in Paris and didn't speak much French. I went into a little cafe and asked for a ham and cheese sandwich. A few minutes later I was presented with two sandwiches--one ham, one cheese. A logical misunderstanding.
-
I do love fresh seeded rye bread!
-
Oy!
Allergies are tough today. I look hung over. I'm not.
Sorry about the allergies.
Are those stacks of books behind you, Robin?

I think it's great that you let them know upfront just what you want from them. Every teacher is different and I had several who never really made it clear.

Yes, they are. I have my fiancee, Michael, take pictures of me in the science fiction sections of used bookstores during our travels.
I love used book stores. You can tell how civilized any area is by the number of used book stores they have in the vicinity.

From DR George:
The problem is that Stycks is actually supposed to shoot his gun a little later in the scene and someone inside the building gets shot. The actress who gets shot was outside in the hall and screamed when the gun went off, which is what she is supposed to do, but it was early. We had no choice but to continue from that point. I figure that we only lost about half a page, but still....
At least you have a funny story out of the incident. :)

33 years ago today I arrived in New York and I've never looked back!
I know your living in NY made my visits very special. You were very kind to walk me to the theater, when I didn't have a clue where it was, to pick up my tickets.
-
Good evening!
-
Happy NYC Anniversary, DR Ben!
-
Had a lovely visit with the Darling Daughter - poor girl can barely speak with all the stuff in her mouth to stop the bleeding. But in the end she will be so happy and pain-free.
-
Well, I thought the Metro would be extra crowded after the March on Washington today, but it was pretty much like any other day.
-
Had a bike ride. Now off to the shower and then to a production meeting/rehearsal. Things are coming along fine with the heights show. Progress is being made, no one is yelling at each other, people are happy.
-

Poor girl.

Just read that Andrea Martin's last performance in Pippin will be Sept.22. My friend and I are seeing it in early October.
-
From DR Matthew:
Hi everyone who is still awake. Back from a great rehearsal. This show might actually turn out great. Tomorrow is the first day at school with the kids and I'm totally looking forward to seeing them.
It sounds like your first day back to school went well. May your school year be a good one!

Ashland has a number of used book stores, a lot if you consider how small the town is.

DR Robin I had a serious accident about 4 years ago with left me with a problem shoulder. I sadly switched to an eReader because it is easier on my shoulder. Now I can easily read in bed without bothering my shoulder, but I truly miss browsing book stores.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to DR BEN
NY is so happy you came to stay!

Now I want to see Pippin again
-
I love a nice Virgina Ham or Black Forest Ham on a seeded rye with muenster cheese and nice dill pickle on the side
That sounds great.
I don't think I've had a slice of muenster cheese since I lived in L.A.
And as I recall, it's a great sandwich cheese. But I don't think I see it much around here. I'll look for some.
-
Well, it's acting time! I'm off to what I hope will be a very successful final (and I do mean final) dress rehearsal! It's weird that we can't have a rehearsal tomorrow night (the day before we actually open) because the space is being used for something else, but it'll be what it'll be.
Be back later!
-
A couple of the regional theaters around here do that. They have only a two or three week run, and open on a Saturday night instead of Friday. Final dress is Thursday, nothing happens on Friday, and then they open on Saturday. Isn't that weird?

DR Vixmom I like Cotswold cheese very much. Does Vixdad enjoy it? DR Doug, how about you? I guess my mother didn't eat it or she couldn't get it in the States when I was young.

LOL Vixmom. Even if I still ate bacon I would NOT want it in my desserts.

Another fabulous rehearsal for the Heights show. Run through tomorrow night. Fun was being had. I'm jiggy with that
-
Back from a great evening with friend Richard M. Sherman and his ever-lovin' Elizabeth.
-
A couple of the regional theaters around here do that. They have only a two or three week run, and open on a Saturday night instead of Friday. Final dress is Thursday, nothing happens on Friday, and then they open on Saturday. Isn't that weird?
Very...but we're performing at an "event center," so I guess the room was booked before our show was scheduled. It'll be fine. We have tomorrow night off (ostensibly to work on our lines), which I will, but I also plan to do some laundry.
-
Well, tonight's show was very good! The number of people in the audience was about the same as last night (about 20) and a couple of my friends were there. That was nice. My parents are coming next Friday...they get my comp tickets, so they get the full meal deal!
-
The only problem tonight was during my big cop scene, Guy (he plays the other cop) and I were practically in the dark. I don't know how well the audience could see us, but I'm wearing three, count 'em, THREE pairs of polarized sunglasses (they liked my sunglasses bit) and I could barely see much of anything. That was discussed after the show tonight, so the room won't be so dark from now on. Otherwise, pretty much everything else went well. We have a pretty good show! Now, we just need people to pay $75 a plate for dinner theater. :)
-
break a leg vibes for George
Thanks, Vixmom!
-
And now, I need to get to sleep. I'm tired...and the show isn't really that long, but I just don't get enough sleep. But that's a personal problem.
;)
Good night, all!
