Well, you've read the notes, the notes were brave and spoke of a new world, and now it is time for you to post until the brave new cows come home - they're upset because they've just had a cow card compromised.
-
And the word of the day is: MALAPERT!
-
Happy Saturday, everyone! Today is going to be a day for me. I want to go to work to make up a few hours, but I'll have to leave in time for the wedding of my friends, Rick and Scott! My gift is a contribution to their honeymoon fund! Then, I need to make sure that I leave that in time for tonight's performance of "Hollywood Who Done It"!
-
And that'll be my day. So, have a good day, all! I won't be back until after the show, and I think an after-show party is being planned, so it's definitely going to be a long day. :)
-
DR John G., thanks very much for the Pacific Overtures link! :)

Morning all.
That is all.
-
Yes, John, thanks for Pacific Overtures.
Someone in a Tree is my favorite Sondheim song of all. I have the 1976 OCR memorized and now I finally get to see the original. I've seen the revivals but I'm anxious to see this one.
-
Good morning to all.
-
It's my last day in Montreal. I had a nice time except worrying about my DP. His problem seems to have past and just on meds and wet dog food
-
Health vibes to all that need them, but especially for Larry Moore
-
And I cannot leave today without thanking everyone hear for the vibes they have given To Kismet.

TOD
I had my credit card cloned once about 10 years ago. I'm positive the card details were obtained when I was in a restaurant in Lisbon when I gave my card to the waiter to process. Shortly after that, I had a call from the bank which intercepted and stopped a charge of about $1000 from a shoe shop in Rome. That was before the current system introduced in Europe where every card has a PIN number which has to be input into the card reader at the sales desk before purchase - does the U.S. have the same system?
In bk's case, if the billing address was wrong, I assume it must have been an order for home delivery... but IKEA only do local (UK) deliveries, so maybe it was a UK billing address? But surely if someone has a cloned card they would sensibly only use it for goods they can take home with them...otherwise the delivery address will not match.
-
On my way to work. Oh well. And going to see a show tonight so I won't be around much today.
Everyone have a great Saturday!
-
Saturday morning greetings! Looking forward to watching ESPN's College Game Day this morning, broadcasting from good ol' A2 - Go, Blue!
-
Today is DS Rob's 28th birthday. They're celebrating with friends today and we'll take them out to dinner on Wednesday.
-
Good morning, all.
Heading out on the road soon for more 'cue.
Happy birthday, Rob.
-
Vibes and hugs for Elmore, TCB, Cillaliz and Kismet and anyone else in need.
TCB, go to the reunion and enjoy yourself.
-
Air conditioning vibes to all in need.
-
Good morning, all.
VIBES to all, because all can use 'em!
-
Another THANKS from this corner for the Pacific Overtures. This is a real boon, especially for one who has NOT seen the show. I do have the original cast and revival cast recordings, and I just (cough, cough) acquired a (cough, cough) copy of the score, so I am set to get to know this.

BK: You mentioned having planned to come to NY in a couple of weeks. So, it might not happen, but I'm glad I saw that because I had a small absence for family reasons planned, which I will now get done this coming week. I don't want to be away in the event you are here and have time for a li'l get-together or three.
One upcoming absence I cannot change is the 24th-26th, so I hope that's not a conflict. Otherwise, I'm good all the way through October.
-
Good morning, all! I am not going far from my bed today or tomorrow. I am now int the fourth week of this mess and it's working my last nerve.
DR George, Ihope your leg is better today.
DR TCB, you should go to your reunion; I've missed all of mine, and I wish I hadn't.
DR Michael Shayne, I wish you safe travel vibes and I'm happy to hear that Kismet is better.
DR Cillaliz, it sounds like a really bad day yesterday for you, and I hope the weekend brings you better days.
-
Hello Everyone
DR Elmore, I hope you will be feeling better soon. I will pray for you!

TOD:
My hubby, Jerry, once received a EMail saying his friend was on Vacation and had is wallet stolen.
We knew it was a scam, and ignored it!

Quote of the Day:

-
Today we will go to church, and then probably a quiet evening at home.
However I would like to see The Butler, or Blue Jasmine.
Has anyone seen these yet. KevinH and some of my family members saw Blue Jasmine and thought it was excellent!
-
This coming week I am determined to get our interior door in the living room painted.
We have to decide on a color.
-
Happy and Healthy vibes to everyone on this Saturday!!!
-
Tomorrow I will be going to a home and garden show in Hamburg, NY (A suburb of Buffalo).
My girlfriend belongs to the club. We will view 6 gardens and some of the houses. My other friend is showing her home.
Then we will probably go for a drink and something to eat.
Hopefully the weather will cooperate!

I noticed that Giant with Rock Hudson and Liz Taylor is on TCM tonight at 8:00PM EST.

I'm excited I started PAGE 2 :)

TOD:
I've had a couple of situations where my credit card was compromised.
The most "interesting" one was when I went to Ireland in 1999 to make THE DOORWAY. The day before I left, I called the credit card company, got my account balance...including everything that was pending...then sent them a check for the full amount. While I was in Ireland for 2 months, since my expenses were being paid and I had a cash per diem, I didn't use the card once.
When I got home and got my first credit card bill, I saw that about $260.00 had been charged to it during my absence to a company on the East coast that I'd never heard of. One call the the credit card company settled the matter...but it was an annoyance.
-
I am on Chapter 1 of KRITZERLAND, and I am enthralled by Benjamin Kritzer's adventures.
-
DR Druxy,
What is The Doorway? Is it a movie?
-
Happy Birthday Ginny's DS Rob!
-
I must practice my guitar lessons today that unfortunately I have been neglecting!
-
I'm up, barely, awakened by the ringing of the doorbell and she of the Evil Eye.
-
DR Druxy,
What is The Doorway? Is it a movie?
It is a movie I wrote and directed for Roger Corman in Ireland. It starred Roy Scheider.

Back from picking up my chain saw at the shop. It needed some cleanup and a sharpening.
So, yes, dear readers, you guessed it...
MY ARM IS COMPLETE AGAIN!!

Remind me not to get on your bad side, DR ChasSmith! :)

Today is DS Rob's 28th birthday. They're celebrating with friends today and we'll take them out to dinner on Wednesday.
A Very Happy Birthday to DR Rob!! :D

Cousin Dee Dee just sent a mass e-mail saying her beloved dog Casey, who I've known since they brought him home, was viciously murdered yesterday when she was walking him near her mom's house in Bel-Air or Brentwood, can't remember which. A dog came out of nowhere, Dee Dee quickly snatched Casey in her arms but the dog leapt and grabbed Casey and then proceeded to maul Casey while Dee Dee screamed and frantically tried to get the dog off Casey. She finally got Casey away, immediately drove her to the nearby vet but it was too late. She found the house and owner of the dog - they didn't seem to care and apparently it's not the first time this has happened. She reported it to Animal Care who said they'd "investigate." The police don't give a crap, although if it had been a human that had been attacked they sure as hell would give a crap. The owner of that dog needs to have that dog put down now before it happens again. And if that dog weren't on a leash, well, then the owner should have some responsibility here. I've a good mind to find out the address and go over there myself, but what can you do with wealthy, entitled pieces of dung? I cannot imagine Animal Care not taking action but apparently they don't. If anyone here has had any experience with this kind of thing, let me know if there's a better course of action to take and I'll pass it along.
-
Heartbreaking, and just plain outrageous. I have no idea what to do, except it would probably make sense to contact every animal protection group in the area. Do that first, because they'll know what further steps to take, and how to take them. What a horrible thing.
-
Even I, admitted animal grinch, am outraged and saddened by DeeDee's awful experience.
-
Small claims court, BK. I think Dee Dee can sue them for a maximum of $5,000, and I agree that every animal protection and adoption service should be made aware of the situation. If the killer dog were off a leash and running loose, she's got plenty of ammo.
-
Page two? Really?
-
Get me off this damn page.
-
Had a fun lunch with the Staitman clan, then picked up one package.
-
Heartbreaking news about Casey.... :-X
-
I had an awful dinner, and I've taken my daily meds. I won't take the pain meds until 8:00 or so.
-
I'm thinking this will get us to page 3.
-
Bingo!!!
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone? This is kind of nauseating actually.
-
So Sad BK about Casey.
In our area if we want to bring an awful tragedy to public awareness we call our local news. They have a special group who investigate and they usually get good results.
It is outrageous that the owners of that vicious dog don't care. They need to be accounted for their dog's action.
I will be praying for DeDe!
-
I've been putting up some fall decor around the house and preparing and eating dinner. We had homemade burgers and oven fries and had plenty to share with DR Elmore. If we lived on the UWS I'd deliver a plate...
-
Happy Birthday to DR Ginny`s DS Rob!
-
Wow, I just finished the end of season 1 of Homeland. Hopefully my library will get season two very soon (they should since they have season one). I cannòt wait to watch this.
My library just got season five of DAMAGES. I am looking forward to watching that soon (there are 4 reservations ahead of me).
-
Oh my gosh BK that is horrible. :(
The owners should be held responsible if it`s happened before and the dog was loose. That makes no sense.
I`m so sorry for your cousin.

It seems crazy to me that the owners would not care. How can that be. Any decent person would be upset by it. But knowing it was your dog that did it would be horrible IMO.
-
I am super sleepy.
-
Meds are taken, and I'll read another chapter about Anne Boleyn. My life is far too dull at the moment.
-
I can't think of single interesting thing to post.
-
I know, I know... that usually doesn't stop me.
-
I think I'm going to turn in early this evening.
-
Why is today such a low posting day? Is it a holiday?
-
I think I finally have chosen and assigned all the Maltby and Shire songs so we're just waiting on the final gal to say yes.
-
Well, I sure won't get us to page 4 tonight!
-
This is shocking.
-
I'd suggest a frenzy or nine or there will be hell toupee and it will not be pretty.
-
Well, I put more than 1,000 miles on the car in the last two days.
-
The odomoter turned over the 100,000 mark.
-
I spent the day with my DH, celebrating 34 years of Happily Ever After.
-
It rained almost the entire trip back, which probably added an hour to the already looooooong trip.
-
There's nothing to do in these tiny Texas towns but eat barbecue.
-
Oh, yeah, and get lost. I got lost several times.
-
Not sure I'm a fan of East Texas barbecue. Very different from the rest of the state. A lot of sugar.
-
There's nothing to do in these tiny Texas towns but eat barbecue.
What's the problem?
-
The people in the eastern part of the state prefer pork ribs to brisket, baked beans to pintos, lots of sweet sauce (even the spicy sauce was sweet). They also like these weird sausages that tasted like a cross between hot dogs and Vienna sausages.
-
But it's what they like. So, let 'em eat it. I found some good examples of it and some not-so-good.
-
Ah, one more.
-
Four!
-
I have to stop sitting. It almost feels like I'm back in the car.
-
Page four?
-
Really?
-
Where IS everybody?
-
Hell toupee, baby, hell toupee.
-
The odomoter turned over the 100,000 mark.
Did you collect photographic evidence?
Here's mine, from November 2009...

Sounds like my kind of place
-
BK I am very sorry to hear about your cousins' dog. That ios not only tragic it is criminal. I hope they are able to press charges -- here the attacking dog would have been taken into custody
-
It was a beautiful day to day
-
I had been hoping to get into NYC to try and get a rush ticket to see Pippin again before Andrea Martin left the show today was the perfect day for that - sunny and mild
-
but I had an 8 Am appointment at the dentist and a 10 AM meeting at church so maybe next week
-
I got up early showered and brushed and drove to the dentist
-
no cars in the parking lot- none - zip -
-
the place was locked up with no sign of life
-
I must say good night. It was a decent day in many respects, but a horrible one in allergies. A real drag. I only started drying up and feeling better in the last couple of hours, as I lay on the couch watching THE WAY WEST which I DVD'd off of TCM a couple of years ago but had never yet watched. Now I'm beat, and am looking forward to a healthier day tomorrow.
-
so I came home made myself some breakfast and went to church for the meeting --
-
only a couple of cars in the lot but Pastor was there maybe it was 10:30 instead of 10....
-
It was next week
-
as is the dentist appointment
-
Of course by time I realized that I could go in it was too late and since next week is the actual date of the dentist appointment and assisting minister meeting I won't be able to go next week either
-
Tomorrow is our church "Rally Day" - the official start of the Sunday School year - we have a big barbeque - the men cook and the women bring salads and desserts - we have a big inflatable bouncy obstacle course, cotton candy, popcorn and facepainting for the little ones, karaoke for the tweens and teens and guitarist and singer for the rest of us
-
One of our college age members works at a local pharmacy and has arranged for a technician to come to the church next week and give flu shots to our members - the committee I chair, Social Ministry, is the official "host" of the event so I need to set up a table and sign people up for next week
-
Then next week besides the Flu Clinic,we also have an installation service for our new associate Pastor, so the entire weekend is packed full
-
So today I ended up running errands, grocery shopping and doing laundrey
-
then I received a call form my elderly friend at church (she's pushing 90 if she hasn't already passed that milestone) mentioning that she happened to be home and was wondering what I was doing ...
-
So I said I was just thinking about going out to lunch, did she want to join me?.. She did
-
So I picked her up and texted the Vixter that we were coming to her restaurant for a late lunch she texted back that she just left work but would run home and change and then meet us at the restaurant
so cell phones came in handy today
-
and that is where I was
-
George, as I recall, had a wedding today, to be followed by his final performance
-
Happy Anniversary to Laura and hubby!!
-
Healing Vibes to Elmore!!
-
Get Well Vibes to TCB
-
Anti Allergy Vibes to Chas and John
-
Well, at least we got to page five - barely.
-
I watched a motion picture, read a couple of chapters and am just listening to Preminger at Fox, which I find completely addictive, and shortly I'll take a nice hot shower.
-
Nobody here but us chickens and us chickens are not happy about it.
-
It is 1:30 Am I I am goingto bed good night
-
It's ten-thirty and I'm here for the duration. Perhaps George will come and make some postings.
-
Okay, no George no no one no posts no happiness. Another one for the record books.
