Well, you've read the notes, the notes were compartmentalized, and now it is time for you to post until the compartmentalized cows come home.

And the word of the day is: XANTHODONTOUS!

We were down for I don't know how long, but I called the emergency hotline and since we're back up I assume they did whatever they needed to do. I commend them for their amazing customer service but wish this would stop happening.

Using my netpad/tablet to brown the interwebs works, but it's pretty slow. And in my bed, it's not easy to sit up and use it on the bed or in my lap. I'll stick to my desktop computer.
And now, it's back to bed for some sleep. Good night, all. 8)

Good morning, all! I slept rather well, and I am out out of bed, bathed, dressed, and on my first cup of coffee. I need to call my eye doctor at 8:30 and reschedule. I was convinced that the appointment was on Thursday, but, no, I blew it.
I have physical therapy at 11, and when I get home, I will have my usual day of accomplishing and/or doing very little. I'm really bored.

Good morning.

Need to read the last 4 days of posts when I get home from work.
And order a cd, and get some sleep, and be happy.

I just checked the site for Bubby's; their store is selling a pie for $65.00? That's outrageous. I'll stick with the great Little Pie Factory.

This day continues ill; I called my eye doctor, whose office is in my HMO's 22nd Street facility, and asked to rebook in the next couple of weeks. There's nothing open until Dec 16, two goddam months away! This ridiculous HMO tells me that I need to call every couple of days and see if there's been a cancellation. I guess they work on the policy of "can't make an appointment, then suffer or die."
What a crock of bullshit.

It's still raining and the water is beginning to pile up. There's still a flash flood warning in effect.
Druxy, were you affected by that in Austin?

It's kind of cloudy here. I hope the flight won't be too bumpy.

I called Sterling's Saturday night and requested a reservation for 3 people for the Sherman Brothers show. I got a voicemail last night telling me that I was the very last person they could accommodate and that the show is now sold out. The gentleman than confirmed my reservation for 2 (not 3). I called back and hope to hear from him later...

I just went on Amazon and "liked" your review, DR Kate.

Okay, back to Tarnation.

Not the Glenn Close perversion with her as the oldest bigoted nurse in the War.

I shoulda sent the Pepperidge Farm pumpkin-cheesecake cookies home with DR Ben. I thought they were not a Pepperidge Farm success. I am interested in Nursie's Pumpking Bread.

I love the show "South Pacific," Larry, but I just wish I liked what Josh Logan did with it a little more. The color and the lighting are too distracting for me. Maybe if I watched it in black and white ...

And speaking of Cry Havoc, I was just at the June Havoc Theatre last night for a wonderful show about the life of Rosemary Clooney.
-
And I'm reading a borrowed copy of Early Havoc, then I have a borrowed copy of More Havoc and then a borrowed copy of Gypsy and Me, Erik Lee Preminger's book about his mother.

Larry, I hope things settle out for your with the eye doctor.

From DR Vixmom:
allergies -Benadryl was a mistake for me can't stay awake == lost the whole day and still sleepy
The only time I take Benadryl during the day is for an emergency, i.e. a severe reaction to something such as Brazil nuts.

LOL....No that is Indianapolis actress Megan McKinney who was great in the role!

From DR Jennifer:
I think everything is closed tomorrow. But not 100% sure.
I'm such an idiot for stopping at the mailbox today. The mail is often late on Monday's so I didn't make the Columbus Day connection until just now ::)
-
I am waiting for my Adobe ID number to be emailed to me so I can check out a book for Keith on his iPad. I hope someone doesn't grab the book before I can. This is taking awhile.
-
I am interested in Nursie's Pumpking Bread.
It was very easy to make, except grating the nutmeg took a little bit of work ;)
-
Oh, the new pan I got was a bit too small for the recipe. I thought that would be the case. The pan I used is slightly on the small side at 9" x 5" (1 pound).
-
Glad you're home safely, if slightly late, KevinH.

DR Jennifer go to your FB page and open a photo and copy the url. Paste that here and then use the "insert image". It should work even those the photo was too large.

This is super cool news. Although it is in Toronto, not Broadway. Love him as a figure skater. Wonder if he can act or sing.

There was no mail, no library, no pools open today. But surprisingly here the malls were open. In other provinces they were closed.

Okay I might try that. But those are not the pictures I was going to post here. I took pictures that give a better indication of what the lake and bike path are like.

Okay I will try to post a picture the way DR Jane suggested.
This is the chalet. The lake is in front of the chalet. The park and green grass/picnic area are to the right and left of the chalet.

Keith has his book. He had downloaded an audio sample and was enjoying it. I'm first in the queue for the audio book and put a hold on it. He will read until, if possible, he can switch back to audio. I still need to get him his own account-lol

Man what a day so far. I was up at nine, the helper came and got invoices and then I just shut out the world and continued with the commentary. I got halfway through, then went and had a Cobb Salad and a small thing of onion rings. Since it's a no mail day I picked up no mail. Then I came home, had one telephonic conversation that will continue later and that I hope will finally finalize the cast the way I want it to be finalized because until that happens I'm still at sea in terms of assigning songs. I think it will work out the way I need it to, so send some vibes and xylophones that it does. Then I buckled down, Winsocki and finished the commentary. I'm sure I'll finesse it at some point soon but at least it's done.
What's fascinating about it is that my original intention was to cut and paste what I could from the original commentary I wrote the first time we did a Sherman Brothers show back in 2011. It was our fifth or sixth show and I could not believe how lame and unfunny the patter was, but I was still not comfortable with my role as patter speaker and host and was still feeling my way - I'd say about six shows later I finally had found my way and had it down pretty well. So, I ended up using not one word from the previous patter.
-
Now I must jog.
-
Weather is very pretty today.

Knowing how much he loves animals, and all the years that he has worked to help the little critters, I was certain he would be nice!
In all of his 85 years he has never been without a dog as a pet. At one point he had 10 dogs (he had a bigger home then). He is now down to one 14 year old dog and one 19 year old cat.

Why are people on Facebook in the first place? I mean, if you're putting your life out there, as I do on this here site every day, and which I've been doing since long before Facebook, then you're putting your life out there - SOCIAL media - your choice. Don't want it out there, then don't be on Facebook. Seems simple to me.

DR Jane have you ever listened to an audio book before? I don't think I have and can't decide if i want to try one. It sounds sort of interesting. But I can't imagine wanting to listen to a book vs reading it. Also i find it odd when people leave goodreads reviews over books they've only listened to.
-
Darn, the sound wasn't good and I had to turn it off.

I didn't even know that thing that they are getting rid of existed.
But I disagree with BK. Different people use facebook for different things. Not everybody updates every second of their life or wants everybody to know all of their business. Also there are many wonderful pages on facebook that you can follow in your newsfeed (for me book groups are the main thing).
-
If people don't want people to know their business then why are they putting their business on Facebook - there is a disconnect here. Otherwise, why not just e-mail people.
-
This is the chalet at the Lake (manmade). To the left is the picnic area. To the right is the park. And in front is the lake.

I bike around the lake (around 2 km). In this picture you can sort of see the beginning of the bike path and the lake.

It is still different and just because I share something with friends doesn't meen I want their friends to see it. I have had some wonderful group discussions and that doesn't happen with email.

This is what the bike path/walking path looks like.

DR Jennifer you have a lovely lake area. Thanks for the photos.
-
This is the view when you look out over the lake.
-
I don't know that these pictures do it justice. But it is very scenic.
-
DR Jennifer you have a lovely lake area. Thanks for the photos.
I just noticed if you click on the photos they are bigger and you can see them better.
It is an amazing area. You'd never think that this would exist in the middle of a busy suburb.
-
Going to catch up on Dancing With The Stars.
Has anyone here been watching Hostages or the Black List? I quite like both of these shows.
-
You wouldn't think that. The photos are beautiful. You are lucky to have the lake to go to.
-
Yesterday was a very exciting day for me...I got a wonderful phone call from BK's neighbor, Earl Holliman! We had a nice, long chat about all sorts of things. And then later in the evening, he called me again and we chatted some more.
I can tell you, Mr. Holliman is one of the nicest actors I have ever had the opportunity to chat with!
He used to run a dinner theater in San Antonio. It was before my time, but people here still remember him and the shows fondly.
-
Beautiful photos, Jennifer!

Sorry to break the news to you, TCB:

Cancelled the shoot and am breathing a little easier for it.
-
Sorry to have been E & T it was unintentional
-
Saturday morning I had an 8 Am appointment to have two crowns put it - this was the first visit so it took a long time for all the molding and grinding and fitting etc etc
-
And how are your allergies, Vixmom?
-
I had one upper and one lower (my teeth are a mess since the radiation therapy but I'm not complaining - I got off VERY lightly!) and the initial pain blocker started to wear off before he was done so he shot me up again only this time there was so much novacain that my left eyelid was numb
-
I finally got home around 12:30 and as the numbness gradually disappeared the pain started getting nasty - I took a couple of advil and ended up falling asleep
-
I woke up around 4:15 and I had to be at church by 5 for the Latino Ministry's annual Hispanic Cultural festival
-
Good evening, all!
I'm sneaking in with just one more day to my flight back east and the madness of a family wedding. The song I'm learning is the least of it, thanks to BK. If I can learn 3 songs for Kritzerland in a few days, I can learn one for my brother. :D
I'm in the Tarnation laundry room still. Need to have enough things clean for a week of everything in who knows what weather.
I'm sorry to hear you had to change your Outside the Box shoot, BK, but it does sound like it would be one thing too many with such a busy schedule. And no doubt, if Debbie can't do this one, she'll do another.

Elvis Stojko was on THE TODAY SHOW this morning and announced he is going into CHICAGO on Broadway as Billy Flynn in February.
What's the matter? Brent not available?
-
The service was done in Spanish with English translation of the prayers and sermon and was followed by a wonderful fiesta
There was a mariachi band and a DeeJay. There were perfomances by some very talented teens and children in traditional dances
and there was a huge buffet. The Latino Ministry has members from many different lands so there were traditional dishes from Mexico, Peru, and Equador etc
There were over 200 people, about 40 of us English speakers but we all had a fine time
I was home by 9:30 and as my gums were beginning to ache again I took advil and fell into an exhausted sleep and slept straight through until 8:45 AM
-
which would have been fine if I wasn't supposed to be at church at 8 to set up coffee hour and then robe to serve as communion assistant for the 9 Am service
-
Using my netpad/tablet to brown the interwebs works, but it's pretty slow. And in my bed, it's not easy to sit up and use it on the bed or in my lap. I'll stick to my desktop computer.
And now, it's back to bed for some sleep. Good night, all. 8)
"...brown the interwebs"? What the heck did I mean by that?? I can't even imagine what I was supposed to say.
I assumed you meant browse the internet.
-
I actually arrived at church (clothed believe it or not) at 8:58 to discover that the family that was supposed to assist with coffee hour had proceeded to set up without me and they promised they had things well in had and shooed m e off to church - I sneaked in by the side aisle during the opening hymn, slipped into the robing area and slipped into my seat
-
My inconspicuousness was so compete that none but the conscious and sighted members noticed me slip in

From DR Jennifer:
I think everything is closed tomorrow. But not 100% sure.
I'm such an idiot for stopping at the mailbox today. The mail is often late on Monday's so I didn't make the Columbus Day connection until just now ::)
I spent the entire weekend reminding people that Monday was a National Holiday and a Federal Holiday. So guess who opened his mail box this afternoon looking for the mail?
-
Which meant at coffee hour I only had to explain 257 times why I was late

Yup...for some reason when I reread that, I just couldn't think what it was supposed to be.

I left church after the second coffee hours and took my elderly parishioner to Panera for lunch
They have a new soup: https://www.panerabread.com/en-us/menu-categories/pasta-and-soups.html#vegetarian-autumn-squash-soup (https://www.panerabread.com/en-us/menu-categories/pasta-and-soups.html#vegetarian-autumn-squash-soup)
which I had in a bread bowl - it was amazing!
But halfway through lunch I started sneezing and by time I took Talley home my eyes were streaming and I was coughing and sneezing nonstop so I foolishly took two benadryl which effectively took me out for the rest of the day and night
-
Okay I will try to post a picture the way DR Jane suggested.
This is the chalet. The lake is in front of the chalet. The park and green grass/picnic area are to the right and left of the chalet.

Perhaps it could be a trifle larger!

This morning I woke up after 8 AM but fortunately the boss gave us a dress down day and told us (for the first time since I have worked for him ) that we could come in at 9:30 - and then we were let out at 2:30 - so that was nice
-
I'm sure our stores are all open.
We, as in State Workers, gave up Columbus Day for the day after Thanksgiving many years ago.
-
Here's one to track down, BK:

Keith has his first audio book from the library downloaded on his new smartphone. I was pleased the book I suggested he read was available & I didn't have to remove anymore books from my library hold list to make room for me. I hope he likes the book. I also showed him how to add books to the wish list.
Now let me get this straight, Jane. You are teaching Keith computer things??

I don't know that these pictures do it justice. But it is very scenic.
Lovely photos, Jennifer.

Going to catch up on Dancing With The Stars.
Has anyone here been watching Hostages or the Black List? I quite like both of these shows.
I know THE BLACKLIST has gotten good reviews, but I just can't cope with James Spader.

It doesn't bother me. I had more of a chance when he was still living in Seattle. Sixty-three year old men in wheelchairs don't really date a lot.

Oh and I know the question on everyone's lips is:
"Did your copy of Dearest Enemy arrive?"

well the fedex man arrived with a package from Amazon and in it was

Yahoo mail is down. Irritating.

Bought my ticket for the Oct. 23 screening of Merrily We Roll Along at the movie theater. I may be the only person in the theater that night, but I'm going.

I cleverly left the box containing all these wonderful items in my desk in the joy of being released at 2:30

That's great! It is always good to hear someone you expect to be nice really is.
I'm impressed as I sit here still trying to make up my mind to get a dog/cat or not. There was a time I never imagined being without at least one cat and dog.
Daily trips to the Humane Society might help you decide! I image there are a few animals there that would love to live at your house!

Yes! Great news!

Bought my ticket for the Oct. 23 screening of Merrily We Roll Along at the movie theater. I may be the only person in the theater that night, but I'm going.
I'll probably be the only one in the theater, also! It's playing at both the big theaters in Olympia and Lacey, and they're playing at the same time. If they were at different times or days, I would definitely have gotten tickets to both showings.
-
Well, it's time for me to leave work and go home. I have some laundry to do.
Until later!
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
For this revue I'm trying to stick mostly to Newley and Bricusse together - I do have, at the moment, two songs each that they wrote by themselves, but I think that's about as much as I want to do in that regard.
-
Good night everyone.
:)
-
Thank you for all the poster art from the last few days. 8)
-
Mega vibes.
Sweet dreams.

oh no they have several types of soup - but this one is a new menu item and I suspect it is only arpound for a short time so I will have to visit often to get my fill
- Talley had a cup of the chicken with wild rice soup (which I also love) and a bowl of the new rigatoni dish with spicy sausage and peas which she said was delicous
-
MBarnum, I loved the posters earlier from the WWII flicks.

Well, I guess that eliminates Paris Makes Me Horny. (Amen.)

Good night, all.

Page seven? Really?
-
Well, it's time for me to leave work and go home. I have some laundry to do.
Until later!
Well, laundry has been done and a couple of TV shows have been watched.
-
Page seven? Really?
Not for long. ;)
-
My posts won't be profound, but they'll be posts.
-
I'm now going to start watching "Grey's Anatomy."
-
I also recorded "Scandal," but I won't watch that tonight.
-
That would take too long.
-
Well, since we're finally here...
