Title: WHAT ELEPHANT?
Post by: bk on November 02, 2013, 11:22:26 PM
Well, you've read the notes, the notes begged the question "What notes?", and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - which begs the question, "What cows?"

I always wait until the morning to reset my clocks.  Some change automatically to the new time and some don't, and I'm never sure which do and which don't.  More than once I've changed a clock before I went to bed, only to wake up with it changed again!

Good morning, all! I slept really well and did not want to crawl out of bed. I had planned to go to Toyland, but my leg was giving me pains this morning and I slept in.

Last night I watched a movie called NEW SUIT. I believe it's the first film I've seen Heather Donahue in since THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT.

I have nothing else to report at the moment.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Successful Vibes for today's shows! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning, all.
Slept in a bit, which, except for a weird repeating dream that wasn't making much sense, felt great.
I always change most of my watches/clocks the night before.  A few like the stove or microwave I will change the next day.
I like JUMBO because of the performers....it is too bad that those four terrific performers didn't have a better script!
Several of Doris' songs from the film on on her CD - The 1960's Singles....although I am sure they are re-recorded and not the sound track.  It is great to listen to.....one of my favorites.
I changed some of the clocks, Keith others, and between us we changed all but one clock.  I got up once during the night and looked at the clock in the bathroom that said 4:00.  It is a decorative old fashioned clock.  I moved the hand at the 4 to 3 and went back to sleep hoping Keith wouldn't get up and move it back again.  He didn't.
Dear Jane,
The landlord with the palm tree.  Well, he lives in a section of town called "The Keys" which is all homes with boat docks on the water.  Needless to say he has $$$$$$$.   The property I live next to is just for his rental income so that he can go to Hawaii etc., and never spends any money to take care it.  Usually the tenants he rents to are just drunks or drug addicts here for the surfing for a year or so and then they leave.   So he does not care at all about anyone else in the neighborhood.
My landlord, well, he's in the film industry and on location all the time.  My friend (his wife who I pay the rent to) comes from $ and spends as little as possible on the properties they own unless they are getting a lot of rent for that property.   The house I live in is a duplex, the tenants next door get everything (who pay high rent), I just get the bare minimum because my rent is low.
Now the palm tree has grown into the power lines going into this house, maybe something will get done.  It's now about an insurance issue on protecting the house they own.   This has been going on for 3 years.
And most of the time they are on the 14 acres they own in Oregon.
So my life goes on.   :-\
I'm up, I'm up - I do believe I got about nine hours of blessed sleep.  I'm all congested but that should go away with the jog, otherwise I feel pretty good.  Don't know how the voice is yet, but it doesn't feel bad at all.
Sunday evening greetings!  Long day today, but a nice one.  We left - in the daylight! - for Lima just after 7 this morning and didn't get home until 5:30.  There was a nice potluck lunch after church, followed by the annual parish meeting.  We got away from there in time to just make it to the University of Dayton for a lecture about the Saint John's Bible (http://www.saintjohnsbible.org).
Hello, everyone.
The virus that's been come-and-go for the past couple weeks has returned and I now have a congested head in addition to a sore throat. I really, really wanted to attend today's Kritzerland show and thought that if I felt OK I might be able to sneak into the matinee at the last minute. No such luck. I guess DR Kevin will have to be my proxy. Enjoy the show, Kevin!
Been busy most of the weekend.  Working, seeing shows, etc.  Smiley is coming over this eve and I made some Italian Wedding Soup, which smells awesome.  (thank you Cost Plus).
Last night I saw a production of Lettice and Lovage, which I pretty much enjoyed.  I'm glad I saw it as it seems to be one of the more "popular" titles that people do.  Next week is God of Carnage which I'm excited about.
Other than that, business as usual
I've been home all day, too.  I do need to go out to my car and bring a couple of boxes in.  They're things leftover from the TAO OF THE DEAD CARN-EVIL.  I was told who they belong to, so I need to contact them to make sure that they really do own these.  I'm sure that they do.
I'm sure they were great.  I wasn't a fan of the recording - tempi was always too slow for my taste.  However, I'm grateful it exists, it's a great resource when you do the show.
After church my parents and my senior parishioner and I went to a lovely brunch held a very nice catering hall.  We were the guests of the hospital that treated my Dad and I for cancer and my Mom for her brain tumor
It was a wonderful affair - great food and we were gifted with totebags, tshirts and golf umbrellas
There were about 300 people there and they had  6 door prizes - I won the huge platter of chocolates
Those are about 150 bags of clothing that were donated for a local organization.  They will launder sort and distribute the clothing to Veteran's and their families and victims of Superstorm Sandy  (the majority of homes that were damaged or destroyed are still uninhabitable a year after the event)
No one got hurt, but my brother was ushering at church at the time as my SIL was preparing for all the company this afternoon (doTerra and Pampered Chef parties).  She texted him to get home ASAP and he left in the middle of church.  He felt kind of bad about that, but they got the hole in the window (about 10 inches) boarded up and they'll get it fixed tomorrow.   I called the police non emergency number about the tree and they had it cleaned up in about 30 minutes.
My jury duty was originally scheduled for last week, but with the kid's show just ending, and a dentist appointment, and especially the fund-raiser, I really was glad that I could delay it.  I could've chosen any week within two months of the original week.  I just chose this week because practically nothing is going on.
Speaking of Tofurkey...a couple of months ago, I bought three Tofurkey brand vegan cheese pizzas for half price ($4 each instead of $8 - I figured half price wasn't a bad deal, unless I absolutely hated them).  They were no longer being carried by Fred Meyer.  Anyway, they had some kind of funky spice.  I don't know if it was supposed to be garlic or what, but it wasn't too good.  I put some real cheese on them for flavor, which helped a bit.  I won't buy it ever again. :P
Back from two wonderful shows - hard to say which was my fave although the matinee was flawless in terms of flubs - the evening show had a few, but recovery was quick on that part of the singer and the audience loved the show.  More in the notes.
I don't remember exactly who sang what but the singers were all wonderful.  Richard Sherman accompanied himself on the piano and sang an obscure song called "Chimpanzoo" (I think), which was a lot of fun.
