Police say the accident should serve as a warning for others building snow forts.

In another example of oddness, as highlighted in today's notes, every so often my Facebook feed goes from being sorted by "most recent" to "top stories," even though I never manually change it. Very annoying.

West Side Story First Draft (http://www.masterworksbroadway.com/blog/when-west-side-story-was-romeo)
Good morning, all! This could be a most fiscally impossible day today and I am a bit fraught. Talk about best laid plans of mice and men! It the moment, all of my misery centers around the US postal delivery, which is not only erratic, due to the idiot manager of my post office, but depending on the carrier. Since there's been no mail service since Saturday, the mail may not arrive before 7:00 this evening, and since my bank closes at 5:30, assuming the check i'm waiting on seven in today's post, I may be colossally overdrawn tomorrow morning. The worst part of it is the fact that the bank will charge me $35 for each overdrawn item; one I can live with, but two or three will be lethal. This is not good, and this has been my life since November. I am not amused.
On other topics that I do not find amusing, my doctor, who was notified on Jan 9 that I needed a renewal of my physical therapy, has not done a thing, so i am currently out of therapy. The doctor could be on vacation or she could have left the HMO. In either case, it's one more irritation today that I do not need.
DR JohnG, I believe I may have done some proofreading for Joshie on the score of FANNY, but i rely do not remember. It was a lovely production, I do remember.
Thank you for the vibes!
Because I need a laugh today, the Cincinnati Men's Chorus posted this photo of Dolly Parton. I love her. but she was not having a good hair day!
Have you heard this violin? It's sizzling hot!

A product, no doubt, of that great Italian violin maker Prosciutto!
I hear you DR GINNY.....pretty bad here, too....but hopefully it will a better tomorrow!

I have had that same problem with the "Shuffle" being turned on, when I don't remember touching it. It usually happens after I have downloaded a new album.

Thanks a lot, Sling Blade! Now I have "He Plays The Violin" stuck in my head.
Thanks to everyone for the vibes for last night. The preview went very well....we had about 30 people in the audience....
A few missed lines....and Hecuba - the star of the notes on Sunday - decided she wanted to watch the show by standing at one of the entrances completing blocking the way.....eventually during Act Two, she moved.
The audience liked the show....but the tone of the show.....horrible things being told with some humor....really made them wonder how they should react...which is exactly what Tim the director was going for.....
It is really strange to feel that mixed energy from the audience....something I have never had experience with...but it is a lot of fun.
HOWEVER....I think I have to miss rehearsal today because of the weather!

Couldn't you just tell them that you have a dance concert today?
I hear you DR TCB....when it happens to me, I always figure I was kicked out....just like in real life.

For anyone who may not know, they're the same thing. It's Best Foods in the western U.S., Hellman's in the east.
And I wouldn't have any other mayonnaise. No sirree. Absolutely the best. Been buying these since someone introduced me to Hellman's in Cleveland, ca-1970. I kid you not. Bunch of college kids, and one actually introduces me to a particular brand of mayonnaise.
EDIT: Which, I think we can all agree, is ODD.
That was kind of the point of the joke.

Mommy.... her eyes are scary!
I think the word "odd" is odd.
I don't know from film music, I'll be the first to admit it. Most often, I don't even really notice the scoring when I am watching a film - which is, I suppose, part of the point, when it is skillfully done.
Which is why I was so startled the other night, when we watched the film Silkwood for the first time. I noticed the music, all right - but not in a good way. I didn't like the music, didn't feel like it was creating the right mood for what I was watching, and in fact, it took me out of the film experience and made me notice it each time it appeared. I can't recall ever having that reaction before to any film. I looked up the composer afterward - Georges Delerue. I know he is a well-known and respected film composer, so I was just really surprised. And of course, I speak only for myself and my experience with this one film. Perhaps if I had seen it a different day, I would have had a different reaction. It was, in keeping with today's topic title, odd.
And you know what we do with blasphemers in these parts.
When Dolly first....uh.....burst onto the scene on the old Porter Wagoner Show.....everything about her was intentionally exaggerated....she said that her figure was so out there that she just made everything else match...and became the typical blonde country singer PLUS. And she looked almost like a parody....but then she sang those songs....and you knew she was the real deal.

And the word of the day is: WILLIWAW!
And you know what we do with blasphemers in these parts.

Today in the mail I received TWO count them TWO CD's from Kritzerland:
Joseph Andrews AND The Buccaneer
Whew!! Luckily, I haven't lost mine. I don't know what I'd do.
Glad that everything went well last night, DR Jrand63. I am sure it will continue to improve.
I got locked out last evening. Fearing that it was my WIFI, I turned off the computer and went to bed. Now I see that we were down for a little while at about the same time. Hopefully that was the reason.

I like Hellman's the BEST, but it has a tendency to fall off the knife....so when I am tired of cleaning the counter, I use Miracle Whip.....which sounds very Biblical.

I'm sitting here in shock since I have never had a problem with it falling off of the knife.
Suddenly missing Jimmy Durante.
Must be the ear worm of him singing "Make Someone Happy" (watched "Sleepless in Seattle" over the weekend).
Well, the check vibes didn't work; there was nothing in the post, which arrived around 5:30, except for the soundtrack to JOSEPH ANDREWS. On some days, you bite the bear and on some days the bear bites you. We'll see how bad the fallout is tomorrow.

For any of mine to fall off the knife, it would have to race like hell and beat my tongue to the job of cleaning that knife!

I love the Delerue score for KING OF HEARTS.
Larry, I just sent you a PM.

Is everyone home safe and sound, tucked in with a good book, a hot toddy, and one of BK's CDs?

I could use a hot toddy or anything alcoholic to get drunk. It's going to be a tough couple of weeks.

It is supposed to get down to 36 degrees here tonight. Brrrrrrr!
The librarian was very nice but couldn't help me. She took my email address in case she finds something. The guy at support was out again today so maybe I will have an answer tomorrow.

Will you lose the books if they cannot help you? Or will they keep you at the front of the queue? Stupid that there is nobody that can answer your questions.

I will say that I saw Dolly Parton in concert a few years ago and she was fabulous. It was a great time

If my WIFI is locking me out of my apartment then I am going to start looking around for Rod Serling.

Vixmom, how is your snow? Do you have to work tomorrow?
watching the local news just announced the snowfall in my town is 11 inches so far
Hmmm. I wonder if Vixmom has fallen asleep at the computer.
Hmmm, this was bit of a surprise!
