DR George, interesting about Weston but a shame he couldn't keep his family name.
I shall soon be on my way to the opening matinee of Achilles/Achilles Son.....at 1 p.m. followed by a gala in the Great Hall....hopefully I will be home by 6 p.m.
If the FRIGID COLD weather predicted for Monday and Tuesday closes the campus, our performances are also canceled, so who knows how many of the four we will actually get to do....
OUCH! :P

I wonder if I've ever seen The Heiress movie. Sounds good.

Sounds good?
It's a brilliant movie! And the cast is amazing.
DR Elmore: The web site, and your page in particular, are wonderful. What a great project.
Since my mother's side of the family was from Morgantown, WV, a few of my childhood memories of visits to family -- and especially friends of family -- during the '50s were always tinged with a hint of the flavor of Appalachia. Just a hint, mind you. But it's a special thing.
I'm especially grateful to have a memory or two of my great grandfather who had been a coal miner. Here he is with me and my sister.

I just bought a copy on Amazon. Looking forward to its arrival.

Your grandfather looks a bit like my mother's father wh died wen I was two, in 1948.

Just checked -- mine died in 1954, a bit later than I was thinking. So I was five then, and I remember being at the funeral home in Morgantown.
DR Elmore, one of my chores this week is to find a copy of "The Heiress" movie. Thanks for the nudge.
I'm off to a day in church.

DR Ginny, it looks as though the reading of "Christmas Up The Holler" at the York will be some time between April 14 and 25th. Those are the dates that DJ proposed and we're waiting for the York to settle on something.
I slept better last night. Sleeping is difficult because of the rash, and I wake up frequently, but at least I got some sleep between the wake-ups.

DR Jeanne, I hope this bodes good and that the improvement continues!
I just opened an envelope from my friend Charlie Harmon, who's been cleaning up the estate of my friend Dale Kugel who died in late November, and a financial gift from Dale landed in my lap. It was completely unexpected, but it will clear all of my financial obligations of December and January and leave me a small amount to help me get through February.

I know...you'd think he would've just added his middle name or initial. Vanessa L. Williams is the former Miss America and sometimes has to use her middle name because there already was a Vanessa Williams in SAG or Equity.
Today's notes remind me of the song BK wrote:
Superman is Dead
About George Reeves suicide (or murder)
Does anyone know how I can post a mp3 so I can share it?

Now that's probably more than you ever wanted to know, but you all know that you can skip posts.
Congrats on the windfall, DR elmore!

Anyway, I am off to the opening. Pray for Rosemary's baby.
Got an invite to see a high school production of "Bonnie and Clyde" this afternoon. I guess there's always a first time to see a Frank Wildhorn musical. At least I like much of the score of this one.
World Premiere of a song I wrote for my school for Catholic Schools week - success!

DR elmore good luck you will soon have 10 contracts signed.

Larry, my condolences on the loss of your friend, but congrats on the financial gift!
Let's have some Grammy postings
My, Grammy... ...what a big... ...PHOTO... ...you have!
Before ushering, I have to stop at my sister's before the show to give her a DVD, Chely Wright: Wish Me Away (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008N0EWTY/). She's a country singer and probably the first to come out as gay. Up until she came out, she was very popular but then was practically shunned by the country music industry afterward. She performed with the Seattle Women's Chorus a couple of years ago and my niece and I saw the concert. Anyway, my sister and my niece told Steve Schalchlin about her and the documentary (they're both on the board of Olympia's PFLAG, so they got to meet him on Friday) and my sister would like to give him the DVD. She said that she'll order me a new copy. That way they can give him the copy now.
The NY G&S Players are on tour in Idaho while we are recording. Damn.

For my second feature I watched MAN IN THE DARK. I'd never seen this one either, and really enjoyed it. Watched in 2-D. Will get out the glasses and repeat it in 3-D tomorrow.
Too bad there wasn't just a little more in the story department, but much fun and great locations. I'm stumped by what rooftops those might have been, apparently in the south part of Hollywood (judging by a glimpse of the Hollywood sign, and a few shots showing the Broadway roof sign as being not too far away). But the amusement pier, oh yeah baby.
