Well, you've read the notes, the notes welcomed February and lamented kishka, and now it is time for you to post until the February cows come home.

And the word of the day is: AUBADE!
-
And isn't it funny that someone on Facebook has started doing a word of the day and just happened to use one of our recent ones? Does our popularity and influence know no bounds? :)

WELCOME TO DAN M
as we are
A troupe of strolling players are we
Not stars like L. B. Mayer's are we
But just a simple band who roams about the land
Dispensing father of frivolity
Mere folks who give distraction are we
Yes and give attraction are we, oh, shut up, San
But just a crazy group, that never seeks to soup
Around a pack of little on a leash…

From the notes: "I ordered a side of kishka and was extremely dismayed to see they don’t have the kind they used to – what they used to have was the best kishka anywhere, but this new kishka was not a patch on the butt cheeks of the old kishka."
Oh no. Not again.
What is wrong with the people who run long-time successful establishments, that suddenly they feel CHANGE is warranted? I ask you.
-
Good morning, all! I slept in and I am now out of bed, hoping to finish the taxes today. I had a couple of very strange dreams, one of which reunited me with the cabaret act I was in-between 1980 and 1982.
Today is also the 155th birthday of the great Victor Herbert: operetta, opera, revue, musical comedy, music hall, concert platform, salon; he wrote for them all.
Welcome, DR DonaldM!
I require more coffee.

Happy Birthday, Donald and DR Kerry!

Welcome to the HHW Board, DR Dan M
-
Most excellent vibes and xylophones to the people in the studio today. I've played that score, it's tricky and rather messy on the page. However, I know it will be excellent.

Last nights performance of Hairspray[/] was really good. I was glad I went.

Vibes for a great recording session, BK!

I will second and third the wishes for excellent vibes and xylophones for BK and raise by a marimba!Thank you all for a warm welcome!

My new printer arrived today! I've just about finished my tax tallies, and then I can set it up. This is too exciting. Next purchase: a new CD player. Soon.
-
I've set up the new printer, and it prints beautifully. I am very happy.
I received a gift certificate for Best Buy for Christmas, and i think I will apply that toward the new CD player

Hi, everyone!
A very very happy HHW birthday to DR Kerry.
-
I forgot to mention that I was going away to a monastery this weekend for a choir retreat. So I am a bot out of touch until Sunday night. It is a really beautiful retreat center.
The dentist ended up pulling TWO wisdom teeth yesterday, not just one. All went smoothly; thanks for the vibes!

That's a lot of missing wisdom! Are you no longer smart?
-
Good morning, all.
Got me a well deserved little sleep-in this morning...and boy, did the doctor ever order that. Yes indeed.
I slept for 3 nights in a row so of course last night I couldn't sleep, finally went off around 4:00am and slept until 7:30.
-
From the notes: "I ordered a side of kishka and was extremely dismayed to see they don’t have the kind they used to – what they used to have was the best kishka anywhere, but this new kishka was not a patch on the butt cheeks of the old kishka."

HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS TO DONALD FELTHAM!
I hope you're having a great birthday, too!
-
My printer is printing everything in color with a very heavy blue tint. Does anyone have any suggestions?
-
A BIG WELCOME TO NEW DR DAN M!
I can see that you're no stranger to Kritzerland CDs. Have you visited HHW for a while or did you just discover it?
Vibes for your successful recovery. May you enjoy playing at HHW.
-
Which printer did you purchase, Larry?
-
Regarding the kishka, Bruce, I've no doubt you mentioned it to the waitress. Did she have any explanation?
-
A lot of sitzprobes suddenly. No matter how many times I hear that term I think of something akin to DR Elan's #2 son's procedure. Ugh.
Speedy recovery vibes to #2 son!
-
I'm amazed but pleased that Singdaw is doing so well after the loss of two wisdom teeth. I had all four out at once and was in bed for a week.
-
Just finished a great noir with Gene Nelson called "Crime Wave." Lean, violent and fascinating. Great shots of old L.A.
-
DR Jeanne, I'm more surprised by the fact Singdaw is doing fine than that you were in bed for a week.
-

I've been in the mood for some good noir. Thanks for mentioning it. I'll look for it.
-
When I had my two wisdom teeth pulled, I was at a ball park drinking beer less than two hours after coming up from anesthesia. But I was young then. Don't come up from that so easy any more.
-

Yes, with my history especially! Maybe Singdaw's weren't compacted like mine were.
-
Kerry, I found the top to your pen. What would you like me to do with it?
-
Belated recording vibes to BK and company.
-
Auto repair vibes to Jrand. I hope they fix your car properly, it runs well, and doesn't cost a fortune.
-
TTFN.
-
Which printer did you purchase, Larry?
A Hewlett Packard desk model, same as the previous one.
-

Bryan & Craig were both young, Bryan in 9th grade & Craig in college, when they had their's removed. They were both pretty bad off.
-
Speaking of car repairs..... Bryan has the week off from work but they are stranded at home as his car needed major work. We got that car, for Keith before it became mine, the year Bryan had his teeth pulled.
-
We are back after a fun day with Perry and Pam. We drove to Pine Mountain, GA, for lunch in a local diner and then on to Warm Springs. We toured the Little White House, where FDR died in 1945. There's a nice FDR museum and we visited the historic warm spring pools where he sought treatment for polio. Very interesting.
-
During lunch we were discussing the plan for us to go over to Perry's to watch the Super Bowl tomorrow. He made a special request for some sandwiches that he remembers my Mom making when he was a kid - shredded sharp cheddar cheese, chili sauce, and chopped black olives in hot dog buns. You wrap them by twos in foil and heat right before serving. We stopped on the way back and I bought the ingredients. There are now 14 "Stuffed Sandwiches" chilling in the fridge at Perry's.
Mom will be pleased.
-
I will be heading for bed soon.
Tomorrow morning, i want to head down to Toyland fairly early since i have a lot of work to accomplish. I believe Anthony - and possibly DR Ben - will stop by in the late morning/early afternoon for a visit, so I'd like to get a large chunk accomplished before they arrive. I'll finish up after they leave.
I've heard from the printer vendor; he believes the problem is the color ink cartridge and asked me if I could try another. If that's the problem, he will replace it with a new one. I do hope that's the problem. the printing is great; the only problem is the blue tint.

-
Welcome, Dan M.! I am also in Arizona -- only up on the Phoenix area.
-
DR Singdaw, I am so glad to hear you are doing well. Poor DR Sandra suffered terribly when she had two wisdom teeth removed last summer. She was out of work for a couple of weeks. And she had some nerve damage to her tongue, and still talks slurs some of her words.
-
DR Ginny, what was the evening report for Dexter?
-
DR elmore good luck changing the ink cartridge solves the problem.
-
DR Ginny, what was the evening report for Dexter?
Perry went to visit this morning and was quite encouraged. Dexter might get to come home tomorrow. Maple and Piper will be very glad.
Perry was very grateful for the HHW vibes.

Wonderful news, but just to be safe....
CONTINUED VIBES FOR DEXTER!

Glad to hear you were able to get this - doesn't your BR also play cds?
-
on on way home from Florida - stopped at a Cracker Barrel just south of Savannah for late lunch/early dinner and waved westward to Ginny & Richard
-
The Wifi in out timeshare was so slow that it kept timing out every time I tried to post
-
Belated Birthday vibes to all I missed
-
Usually the Florida rains hit hard for a short time and then goes away and the sun comes back but it was rainy all day everyday - the only nice day was Tuesday.
Since the weather station insisted Tuesday would be cold and rainy while Wed Thursday and Friday were forecast to be warm and sunny we slept in and then ended up just wandering around the Disney Downtown area for a little bit - of course it poured rain the next three days
the one thing we wanted to do this trip was the launch pad tour at NASA at the Kennedy Space Center - Tuesday would have been perfect- we ended up not being able to take the tour and it may never be available again - it never was before and it is being ended in February
Channel 13 news and weather in Central Florida never got the weather right once all week
ah well
-
well time to get some sleep - another 600 mile to drive tomorrow and we must drive towards and then right past the NJ stadium where the Superbowl is happening so traffic should be horrendous
-
VIBES TO ALL!
I willpost photos when I get home
-
Went out for pizza tonight at a new place. Very good Italian-style pizza. Perfectly thin crust with plenty of crunch to it. One pie was like a deconstructed muffaletta, even with the olive salad on it. The other was clams casino with the bacon. Yum.
-
good to see you, Vixmom. Sorry about the rain. But I hope the rest was relaxing.

Having celiac disease for the past 11 years, I can no longer enjoy "regular" pizza, so I'm living vicariously via your description of what sounds like a wonderful meal. Mmmm, bacon.

I'm diabetic and shouldn't eat the carbs, either. But I did check out a paleo book from the library today with a gluten-free pizza crust that looked good to me. I may give it a whirl in the next week or so. Will report back.

Who's the cutie cat in your arms, DR Dan M?
-
Who's the cutie cat in your arms, DR Dan M?
My cat is Minny The Cat and he turns 5 this year. In a bit of synchronicity, my friends in Arizona had just gotten him the month before I arrived here from NY in 2009. They had already named him "Mini" because he was so small (he is now around 20 pounds), but they did not know that he would "adopt" me as his person and that my late Mom's name was Minnie. Minny The Cat-- I say now that he was named after Minny Minoso the baseball player-- is more dog than cat sometimes because he follows me around like a puppy. He is a unique cat (not sure what kind he is) as you can't hear any purring, but you can "feel" the purring if you place your hand just under his jawline. Even without the audible purring, he does like to "talk" to me and tries to get me to follow him. I had never had a cat before I moved out here and now I can't imagine being without one.
-
Where the #$%^ did the phrase "easy peasy" come from? I have heard it used in three different TV commercials tonight on TV.
-
Finally back home after an incredibly long and occasionally tense day. Can't say the session was a walk in the park, due to some really idiotic scheduling problems I just didn't catch in time to do anything about - had I, I would have moved four numbers in tomorrow's session. Not worth going into but boy it's the last time I let a musical director schedule.
-
During lunch we were discussing the plan for us to go over to Perry's to watch the Super Bowl tomorrow. He made a special request for some sandwiches that he remembers my Mom making when he was a kid - shredded sharp cheddar cheese, chili sauce, and chopped black olives in hot dog buns. -
Hello all and Welcome Dan M. Not sure why I haven't been here the past few days. I guess I've just been busy
-
Happy Birthday to Donald
-
Happy Birthday to Kerry
-
Happy Birthday to all I missed in the past few days. I haven't caught up yet, so I'll just say it now
-
Yesterday I broke down and got a new Microsoft Surface 2. I've been setting it up and learning how to use it. It has microsoft office RT in it at no extra charge. With that I can use it for work and the documents won't have any formatting problems. I also really like the lighted plastic keyboard that attaches magnetically.
-
Of course I'm on the laptop right now, lol
-
Seriously, I had no way to Skype at the office and needed something I could use for that. And it's a lot lighter to take back and forth to the office. It also has a usb port, which is nice. I've never had a tablet, other than my nook, which is really a reader. So I'm very excited about it. It will take some getting used to
-
I don't know about the origin of easy peasy but I've heard the expression all my life

Ginny, when you say chili sauce, are you talking about the stuff in the bottle by Heinz, or is it something you make yourself?
What do you mean Ginny isn't here now?
-
It's late and I need to get to bed. I didn't finish the laundry until midnight, but it's done.
-
Could care a less about the football game tomorrow. I used to get into sports a lot, but not anymore. I love the budwiser puppy commercial
-
Welcome Dan! I have three cats, Callie, Ricky and Boo. You will probably hear more about them than you care to :)
-
Cilla, how nice to see you!

Each time "Little White House" has been mentioned, I start singing in my head:
"We'll have a little white house and a little white fence made of pickets.
A house on the hill where, if nature consents, we'll have crickets...." (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r65_zURcnXA&t=63)
;D
-
I can't imagine living without a cat either.
-
I'll try to catch up tomorrow, but good vibes to those who need them, congrats to those who had something good happen, get well vibes to those who may not feel well, and sleep well to all
