Friends were quick to let me know about the Berners though not quick enough for me to see them. As soon ad I heard they were on a milk farm I knew they were working dogs pulling a cart.uI am surprised since the three hour warning from the east coast viewers should have given you three hours. I wll see if I can find the clip on youtube. I am sure cbs.com puts up the entire show. It was between 8:30pm and 8:40pm i think.
DR Druxy - hope your dog is OK!!!

DR Jane I rerea tour comments about the book I was reading. It was not just the ending of the book that was gut wrenching. There were multiple parts. For some reason I do not actually think this book would be your taste. I was just curious if you like books like that. I find them hard to read but they are often the books that I give five stars too since the make me feel so strongly.

DR FJL - glad that they are taking the time to do Skip's concert right.

He's fine. My wife just got him the wrong kind of bone to chew on.
It broke apart. He swallowed the pieces, and the pieces came up and out this morning.
Pam and her husband have left work to go to the school. One rumor is that one of the guns was an AK-47.
Just called Amazon support (at DR George's suggestion). They were able to work their magic and "force" the corrected version of Red Gold onto my account and devices. They also refunded the purchase price on my previous attempts. :)

Duh!!! I am sitting here laughing at myself. I am such an idiot! ;D
Thank you, the clip made it to Facebook this morning. Do you know where they were? It looks like the Swiss Alps, maybe French.
So the parents keep a nice assault rifle and a bunch of guns in their home. And we wonder why this crap happens.

This author does not do happy endings. So I am curious if this series will end at all happy.

They spent most of the leg in Lucerne Switzerland so I think that challenge was there.
Oy I had no idea that you just thought you missed it. I thought you must have only checked your facebook much later.
I got a new prescription for my migraine pills. Only problem is the doctor wrote something slighty wrong and the pharmacist didn't want to give me the pills until he spoke to her. It is the same pharmacy that the old pills are from and the prescription is exactly the same. But since the pills have codeine they have to make sure. I guess they can be addictive. But I only had a prescription for 6 pills.
Anyhow the pharmacist for free gave me 3 non codeine fiorinol.
I too thought of DR Jane and DD Sherlock while watching THE AMAZING RACE last night. Those dogs were so wonderful...that was one competition I would have gladly performed!

It was a short clip on video. Did it last longer on the show?

It was a good ten minutes or so, I think.
I think this is perhaps the first time I have ever seen Jason Graae get tepid reviews - for Inventing Mary Martin, which has gotten pretty much nothing but tepid reviews. Interested to hear elmore's thoughts. I know the author/co-director, but this will all wash over him as he doesn't read reviews.
Finished up season 3 of DOWNTON ABBEY and I have decided that one is more likely to survive being a character on THE WALKING DEAD than you are to survive being on DOWNTON ABBEY.

That was nice. If you need them again, after the codeine script is filled, you can start with the stronger pills and switch to the non codeine ones as the pain is reduced. How often do you take them once the migraine begins?

I'm not familiar with the show and have to wonder what they did with the dogs that it wouldn't be fair to the women.
Of course the most important thing is that it was fair to the dogs.

During a part of the comp the person had to carry the filled milk jugs through the snow. The woman took what seemed like 10 times as long since it was 60 lbs.

The dog part was just the dogs pulling the cart and was equal to all competitors. Although funnily one dog was stockier (competitor's words) and his dog outran the smaller one.

I hope they gave that dog to the women's team.

Nope. Actually I think you got to choose your own dog. The women's team is not the brainiest so they would probably have chosen the cutest dog.
TOD:
William Desmond Taylor.
I studied that case for years; hoped to do a book about it.
Interviewed everybody from from Adela Rogers St. John to King Vidor to Mary Miles Minter (Did she do it or was it her mother?)
Vidor, who may be the only outsider to have reviewed the police files, offered to collaborate with me, but Adela Rogers St. John advised against it. "What do you need his for?" she said.
I listened to her, which was a big mistake and resulted in my NOT writing the best-selling book, A CAST OF KILLERS.
:'(
I'm still toying with the idea of doing something with the material at some point; perhaps a stage play.
:-\
It's nearly the end of April and wheretheheckdidthismonthgetto?
My dog woke me up at 5:00 this morning with that "throwing up" sound.

Skip's TIME AND AGAIN concert evening on Mothers Day had to be postponed, likely until fall. Skip's totally fine about it, so no sorry's needed at all - just the nature of the cabaret world, and better it be done right later on than done too fast and sooner.
It looks like it turned out to be a much bigger enterprise to coordinate than they had expected, given the number of people and production aspects they'd planned.
DR FJL - glad that they are taking the time to do Skip's concert right.

There's a lockdown at the high school in my neighborhood. A co-worker's daughter and my minister's three sons are in there. A kid with several loaded guns and knives was detained and there's talk of an accomplice somewhere in the building.
Please send vibes and prayers that this is peacefully resolved.
My coworker Pam's daughter has finally gotten a text message out that she's OK. It seems the school confiscated all phones for some reason. (My cynical thought process leads me to think it's because the district wants to control the PR.) The kid had two guns on him plus knives and he had a fully loaded AK-47 hidden in one of the bathrooms. How do you hide an AK-47 in a school bathroom?
It seems that the kids are OK, but there had been talk of an accomplice and now there's been nothing in the last hour on that. Wonder if they've given up on that idea.
The lockdown has been lifted. Here's the latest from one of the TV stations:

Well, this is pretty cool...I just got an e-mail from 5th Avenue Theatre, saying because of the two, count 'em, TWO interruptions during Saturday's "A Room With a View," I can see the show again for FREE! I'm definitely going to see it. I'll, of course, have to pay for parking, but that's fine with me. I e-mailed my sister to see if she wants to go again.
:D
I'm waiting for my dinner to heat up and a phone call from Rob Berman.
So, DR MBarnum, when do you head to LA y cast the bodybuilders. Or is that restraining order against you still on at the YMCA, YMHA, Gold's Gym, and Venice beach?

I watched a show on YouTube last night - "Broadway At The White House." And guess who the musical director was for the program? Rob Berman.

DR George, would you please pick up a Playbill for me?
When I was at the store earlier today, I decided it might be tasty to add a chicken breast to my salad for dinner. Rather than go to the trouble of cooking a breast myself, I picked up a Tyson Sliced Chicken Breast. I threw it into the salad, but there was so much fat and gristle, that I ended up picking out all of the chicken pieces and throwing them away. Gross!

You want gross? You want a gross coincidence? Last night I was in the whatever-you-call-it, the prepared hot/cold foods takeout section at the supermarket, and they had an Asian (-style) salad with chicken in it, exactly the kind of thing I was in the mood for. I didn't like that these chicken bits were breaded -- for me, that's totally inappropriate to the salad thing -- but I threw a few in there anyway. Got home, took the first bite of chicken, and I could swear they'd breaded a joint with two bones in it. Threw it away, tried another piece. Either a bit of bone, or gristle. YUCK! Never again. I could tell that a couple of the other pieces were pure white meat, so I ate them. The rest of the salad was nice, but I'll never go near it again and I shall mention it to them next time I'm in there. I will also mention that breaded meats do not go into a salad. (If anyone here thinks otherwise, just say so.)
I put my review over at B&N and failed and my attempt to change my name. I'm guessing it says the review is by Keith.

"a joint with two bones in it" - sounds like a title idea for something
DR TCB does your store have a deli counter where you can purchase small, but healthier, portions?

John G I am so happy about the non violent ending of your story. I cannot imagine the terror your friend and minister were going through.
Thank goodness those parents thought about the greater good and acted rather than trying to coverup their son's actions.
But yes, why does ANYONE need to have an AK whatever in their home?

I agree with you, Chas. Your story was even more gross. But what is going on with chicken?
in 30 minutes I will be the mother of a 21 year old woman---
Vixmom, there was nothing wrong with giving birth when you were ten.
Speaking of food, I went to a fundraiser tonight for a chef who is battling cancer. A group of chefs got together to help her out with her bills. They staged a picnic on a beautiful evening. There was a crawfish boil, barbecued chicken, baby back ribs, deviled eggs, corn on the cob, a watermelon salad with crab meat, rice noodles with shrimp and a bunch of other wonderful things. It was just pleasant. I sat with some people I knew and just relaxed. I needed to do that. And I'm glad it was for a good cause.
that reminds me - the Vixter and I went to a buffet the othe day and one of the choices were crawfish - I couldn't figure out how to eat them so I left them at the buffet - are they much different than lobster or shrimp?
I have been down in the dumps the last couple of days. After all the hard work, the talented cast of young people, and the great review; we just didn't draw audiences. It was a very discouraging last two weeks.

I am so sorry to hear this Tom. I hope the kids were not discouraged. Was there sufficient advertising?
Bruce, RED GOLD is my favorite of all your novels. I actually put a review on Goodreads. You know I don't write reviews so please don't expect me to ever do that again-lol.

They didn't say anything, but I know they were expecting a better response. The posters were up everywhere. The publicity was out there. What bothers me is only three people I know came to see the show. I am not talking about friends, just three people that I know.
