Title: KRITZERLAND AT STERLING'S 45
Post by: bk on May 05, 2014, 12:09:44 AM
Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Kritzerland at Sterling's 45, and now it is time for you to post until the 45 cows come home.

The really good thing about "Chamber Music" is that we've made enough to make up for the royalties and the few receipts that will be reimbursed, so we're all profit from now on! :D

Since you're all profit now, perhaps you'll read a book.

Since you're all profit now, perhaps you'll read a book.

I'm actually reading two books, back and forth, so they're both taking longer than each should...but I'm getting through them.  The other is "Winter's Tale" by Mark Helprin, and it's REALLY long and a LOT of descriptions and VERY long chapters.  "Red Gold" won't take as long.
Title: Re: KRITZERLAND AT STERLING'S 45
Post by: bk on May 05, 2014, 12:41:13 AM
Red Gold is much more fun and has short chapters.

Well, I'm going to bed now.  I don't remember if it's today or tomorrow, but my friend Margo and I are going out to lunch.  Then tonight, my parents are taking me out for dinner at a Mexican place called Mayan (not The Mayan, just Mayan).  I haven't been there in years, but they've gone fairly regularly, so they know it's still good.  I really liked it when I did go, but it's way out of the way from where I live.  But since my parents are paying, I'll go way out of the way.
Title: Re: KRITZERLAND AT STERLING'S 45
Post by: George on May 05, 2014, 12:57:13 AM
After dinner, we're going to my sister's, who will make apple fritter bread pudding.  YUMMY!!  She and my niece aren't going to the Mexican place because they're vegan and it wouldn't be easy to get something vegan, so they're making dessert, even if it's not vegan.

Good morning, all! I son't know why it is, but on those mornings when I need to be up really early I get no sleep. I was in bed by 10:30 to be awake by 6:15, and two hours later I was wide awake.  My sleep was really poor, and I was upand down most of the night. I have a vague memory of a dream involving my mother, and my last dream was about a friend and I for a prank in a drug store changng the price on a blackboard and the prank turned int a major inquisition. I awoke as everyone was going to examine the security video. My Barnes & Noble manage Patty was my boss in the dream, and I think several Ohio friends of 30 years ago were my co-workers.

So, around 7:45, I will head for the bus stop. I have an eye appointment at 9"30, and I need to be there between 9:00 and 9:15. I'll take the 104 bus to 57th Street and transfer to the No 5 bus, which will take me to 23rd and Fifth Avenue. I have to be there again tomorrow morning for a 9:15 appointment, so this will give me an idea of how much time the buses will take.

When I get home, I'll see how I'm feeling. I have physical therapy at 2:00. Oy!

Almost all of the beans in SA are made with lard. Good, healthy, heart-warming lard.

My niece went to another Frozen birthday party yesterday.  Unfortunately this little girl did a few of the same things they had planned (coloring pictures of Anna and Elsa and pin the tail on the Olaf).  But they did not have the themed stuff my niece has (anna and elsa plates, cups, invitations...).

Now I have to make 12 Frozen bookmarks to go in the loot bags.

Good morning, all.

A pretty good sleep, a nice moderate sleeping in, and now for a morning of much needed relaxation followed by getting my bloomin' arse into gear on things that need to be done around here.

The show was fun, AND I'm glad it's over.  :)

Monday morning greetings!  Fr. Richard and I found yesterday's trip to Lima and back particularly exhausting and not because of anything catastrophic or unusual.  Maybe it's because we didn't get last weekend off due to the funeral on Saturday.

Ah, well, we're taking it slow this morning...

DR JANE - the Dance Scores are announced.....each judge could give up to 10 just like on the tv show, but the other scores are not....so in the past even if there were two or three perfect scores, there would still be a mystery about the winner.

It just happened this year that there were ELEVEN perfect scores.

DR JEANNE yes the stars are a bit wonky for the next 10 days or so.....but it is also a good time to reconnect and mend fences with those you wish to.  Certainly go over your financial picture, and find new sources of information before you make a decision.  But it is possible to make great strides in many areas of your life.

DR ELMORE the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that your dream indicates that you feel that too many people judge your work in public....particularly those with little or no skill of their own.  You also feel that too much attention is focused on the errors and not enough attention is focused on what you do correctly.

DR JRand63, very intersting Dream-o-matic analysis! Thank you.

This has been the morning from hell. The bus was easy: I got on the 7:489 No 104 bus and reached Columbus Circle around 8:10. The M5 bus pulled up around 8:15 and I was to my doctor's office by 8:40; appointment at 9:15.

At 10:10, the supervisor for patient complaints came into the waiting room and asked how many were waiting on Dr Moazed. He's stuck in Florida on emergency. Why could they not have called last night and told us the appointment was canceled? So, I have a new appointment next Monday morning at 9:00. Oy!

I am now home for an hour, then I head for physical therapy.

I'm sure you're right, but I think that they just don't want to go out...which is fine.  We'll have a good time at their house with the apple fritter bread pudding. :D

I thought last night's MAD MEN was particularly badly written, especially the parts in the "commune."  I just kept thinking, why are we wasting time on this dumb story when there are things happening back at the office.....  :P

I recorded it, but haven't watched it yet.  Sounds interesting...or not.

After dinner, we're going to my sister's, who will make apple fritter bread pudding.  YUMMY!!  She and my niece aren't going to the Mexican place because they're vegan and it wouldn't be easy to get something vegan, so they're making dessert, even if it's not vegan.

The apple fritter bread pudding sounds good.

Mexican vegan meal:
Guacomole & whole black beans & rice.  Add lettuce, tomato & chips and it is delicious.

DR jane re: Sunday night tv viewing.  How many shows does your machine record at a time? Is it only one?  My PVR can do two at one time, plus i have the West coast feeds for all the major US channels. So i can do 4 in one time slot if i needed to (which i don't).

2 shows at once.  I can't think what else besides THE GOOD WIFE & COSMOS we record that prevents us from getting the other 2 shows.

4 is a lot of shows.  It is rare that we need more than 2.  Maybe we can pay for more.  I would have to ask Keith but I doubt these 2 shows would motivate us enough to pay extra for them.

Please share a photo of your bookmarks.

DR JANE - the Dance Scores are announced.....each judge could give up to 10 just like on the tv show, but the other scores are not....so in the past even if there were two or three perfect scores, there would still be a mystery about the winner.

It just happened this year that there were ELEVEN perfect scores.

Thanks.  I don't watch reality shows so I don't have a clue :)

Thanks, Jack. I hadn't heard the positive side. It's nice to know there is one!

Oy I had a lot of trouble with them.  I have made Frozen bookmarks before for my niece and for a few of her friends. Usually I just google pictures from the movie and usually there is a longish one that I can make into a bookmark. But today I just couldn't find anything I liked.  Anyhow I ended up finding a lady who has a blog who made frozen bookmarks and who had them to print for free. They are pretty nice but not as long as I am used to. Also they each only have one character on them.

But for some reason there were 6 on a page and the one I liked best would not print out. On every sheet that one wouldn't come out. Finally I figured out a way and got 4 of that one.

But then my laminator (which has been having problems) got something stuck in it. so I had to use the manual laminating paper. Oy.

I would be pissed!!!

Good grief, even if they didn't call and tell you, they could have told you when you checked in instead of nearly and hour later

I would definitely complain to the doctor when you return.  Sometimes they are oblivious to what is happening at the front desk and should know.

It was all thrashed out this morning.

The only problem is that the kids are only 4 and 5 and don't read.  And the books that are read to them are so short that they don't need bookmarks for them, :)

Back from the designer run - rough, but the show is there and while act one ran about nine minutes longer than I want it to, when it's all tightened it will be fine.  But even with that, the show clocked in at exactly two hours, which is perfect.

Then, on the way home, I was conversing and heard something so outrageous and heinous that I really lost it.  It has something to do with the other business, for which you are sending continued super-strength vibes - but this, as an adjunct, just sent me over the edge because it was so disgusting.  I wish I could go into detail and when this is all said and done, you can bet your sweet bippy I will, but what was involved today was shut down so fast that it was definitely a point in my favor in a major way.

I was so angry - I think the person I was talking to who told me about it was rather shocked.  It took me a full hour to calm down - some good folks talked sense into me because I was so mad that I was going to do some things that wouldn't have probably been good.  They calmed me down, and while I'm still fuming, I'll get in the shower and was this crap down the drain and just go on doing my work.  We'll see how it all plays out, but in the end I am telling this story in all its gory details.  With names.
