Well, you've read the notes, the notes were queasy, which wasn't easy, and now it is time for you to post until the queasy cows come home.

Today, I'm going to take my car in for its annual servicing.  After I pay my property taxes with my income tax refund, I get my car serviced.  After that, depending on how much is left, I want to get a new computer.  There's absolutely nothing wrong with the computer that I have now, except that it's Windows XP.  I don't think that I can upgrade what I have...that would probably be too difficult.

God morning, all! I slept long and late, and i am up and about.  This morning I will work here on notes for next week's Trinity Church concert, then head to Verizon and see about my cell phone mess and/or buy a new phone. Then I am off to Trinity Church.

I wish I could have been at the band rehearsal to hear Don's work. I'm sure it's fantastic.

There's so much sturm und drang causing a lot of problems this week for the DRs!

Last night I took 9 guys ALL the way through Luck Be A Lady tonight in 40 minutes and it's done!  Because they listened to both me AND the music.

Wednesday morning greetings!  I also have had some queasiness for the past 24 hours that kept me from being at my best during last evening's AAUW scholarship and installation dinner.  Got through it OK, but just felt "off" throughout and was glad to get home and go to bed.  I feel a bit better this morning, but not setting the world on fire.

Today is the third day of my month-long sojourn as secretary to the assistant director of our agency.

Am arranging lots of conferences, trips, paying lots of invoices and the like.  My own desk is going to ruin, however, since I am only doing "this" job and not "that" job, as well.

I will say this:  They would rather have me learn this job completely, if only for a month, than to hire someone new for a longer stint who could be muddling through the files left by my deceased co-employee.

Sigh!

I had never been inside Trinity Church before, and it's so beautiful, absolutely stunning.  Obama is in town for ceremonies at the Trade Center tomorrow (new museum, maybe?) and traffic will be a nightmare. Thank God for the subway.

Today is Mom and Dad's 59th anniversary. She did too much gardening today and wasn't feeling her best, so they're taking it rather quiet. I told her to leave the weeds alone.

I have a newcwll phone. The dead phone is so old, they cannot transfer the info on it, so I have to rebuild an address book.

God. Damn.

I know how you feel.  My last phone was supposed to transfer but it didn't.  Do you have all your numbers or do you need people to send them to you?

Back!  The return trip seemed long.  I guess I was a bit lax at rest stops.

Of course, the one where the car locked me out of it with the key in it did tend to require a little extra time.......      :o

But all is well.

And now I know some new precautions to take.  Backup key, etc.  And I will have the car's security system looked at and fixed, because the way that happened ... it shouldn't have happened.

That's horrible, having to re-enter all your directory information, DR Elmore.

Worst thing, though -- how will you ever know you're remembering everything?  Or were they able to at least give you a printout?

How old WAS that phone?

I must say I was impressed, and feel very lucky indeed, that the guy sent by AAA (1) showed up quickly, and (2) was able to get the door unlocked in, like, five minutes.  It did give him some trouble, and he did have to try it a couple of different ways, but then suddenly way #1 (the old fashioned way) worked, and Bob was our uncle.

DR Elmore, I'm glad you mentioned that the Pres. is going to be in downtown NYC tomorrow.  Holy moley -- if I'd decided I was going to drive down for that, I'd have been royally screwed.  Probably would have heard the news while en route...

Unfortunately, I think I'm too beat to get up and get to the train in time to even make it there by noon.  And I have lots to do tomorrow and the next day.  So, very sorry to miss this one.  I'll have no problem getting to the others.  I know you won't be there next week, but I'll see you on the 29th.

Maybe six years old? Well, I was able to retrieve some numbers, like yours, from messages on MMW, emails, my computer address book, and I've sent out a ton of emails to friends asking for their phone numbers.  I've also got contact sheets from shows and the recordings, but it's so tedious.

Listening to a "soundtrack" of "White Christmas" that came in the mail today. The nice surprise is that it included the soundtrack of "Hans Christian Anderson," but the weird thing is that many of the songs aren't actually what's in the movie. Whoever released the album must not have had the right to release Rosemary Clooney's solos or duets. So somebody else is singing those songs. Strange.

Well, one more step in the process of getting this paper submitted is done. I read through it again tonight and was glad I did. I found a couple of glaring errors or words omitted. So, I'm hopeful that after the first reader gives it a final go-over, I can submit it. I already have the grade, it's already posted, but this last thing needs to be done.

Back from our sitzprobe, which was great, some clean up rehearsal, and a meal at the California Pizza Kitchen.  Around four, my queasiness seem to be completely gone, and since I hadn't eaten anything but poached eggs for forty-eight hours, I thought I'd be all right for a proper meal, which I was.  Hoo and ray.

Went to tap class for the first time in a month tonight. I was surprised how much I remembered, but I was not pleased to find out that she wants us to perform in a real theater before a paying audience on May 24. It's a variation on the shim sham shimmy, and I should know it. But yikes.
