And the word of the day is: FRACKING!
BK, with all of the wonderful films available to watch on Netflix streaming, why in the world do you pick things you know you are not going to enjoy?
The rivers are supposed to crest today.

I get a lot of emails with deals. Plus there are a bunch of kindle discount groups on facebook. If i see anything I think that you will particularly like i will let you know.

~ ~ ~ PUTTING-IT-TOGETHER VIBES OF UTMOST STRENGTH ~ ~ ~ for DR elmore3003, Judy, and their team for tomorrow!!
May calm and sanity prevail.
That must be a strong Benadryl y'all are taking. I use the over-the-counter store brand pink capsules when summer allergies have my own face turning against me, but they run their course after a few hours, and that's it.
Yes, I have attended several hootenannies in my day. There was one several months ago on 48th and Seventh Avenue that I missed.
Tomorrow's ROBERTA session could be grisly. I'm already getting defensive emails from Judy about "can we cut . . .?" Please send good vibes! They may be essential.
Pretty much ever HHW get-together that I have ever been too......

TOD:
Certainly the dumbest movie ever made is Ed Wood's PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE.
Seriously, what could be dumber?
Other than searching for a particular title, how on earth would you find a Vera Hruba Ralston movie on Netflix. It's one of the problems. Those things never show up in the things on the home page.
Sooooooo many things yet to do to get our India-US group ready for World Beat this weekend. Our President and Vice-President are both going to be on vacation during the event >:( so a few more duties have fallen on my shoulders.
I kinda like Altman's Popeye.

This is so sad: Richard Rodgers daughter Mary ihas died. I knew she'd been ill with cancer, but this is really upsetting.

She and I were both huge fans of "Bye and Bye" from Dearest enemy, and when I restored the score in 2002, I wrote the Act Two Intermezzo as a love letter to her. She was always very kind to me.
I got another supervisor on the phone, she acknowledged receipt of the letter faxed and said now they would do another search for the package. And I went BERSERK. I told her I was the one guy she did not want to do this with, that I would launch a class action lawsuit and that I had hundreds if not thousands who would go along with it, and that I wasn't getting off the phone until she gave me an exact date the check was being cut and sent. She heard me loud and clear, apologized on behalf of UPS, and said the new search would only take one day and that the check would definitely be cut on Tuesday and sent - and that she'd just put a rush on it so that I would have it in seventy-two hours after they post it. I wrote all of that down.
Mary was a wonderful woman - worked with her on Hey Love (which I think I had elmore orchestrate a little for the recording) - she was a doll. I'd heard a few days ago she wasn't doing well and at eighty-four better for her to be at peace - a long and wonderful life.

Ridiculous. I hope this is the end for you and the check arrives soon. Have you checked online to see if anyone is selling the CDs for cheap?

MOVIE OF THE DAY
(http://dailypop.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/1976_at_the_earths_core.jpg)
We watched Grand Piano a few nights ago, and howled with disbelief at all of the things bk listed in the notes. No one connected with the film has apparently ever attended a classical music concert, because all of those aspects of the film are entirely divorced from reality. Jaw-dropping, really. And the logistics of the plot make no sense at all.
There's bad, and then there's so bad it is funny. And this movie is definitely the latter.

I'm very sorry to hear this. When I went to see Dawn Powell's "Walking Down Broadway" at the Mint Theatre in 2005, Mary Rodgers Guettel was in the audience. She looked so familiar to me, but I couldn't place her. When I heard her talking during intermission I recognized her voice from TV documentaries about her father.

DR John G, I had this retirement fantasy that I'd work up a Chautauqua portrayal of Dawn Powell, an unsung native Ohioan. In July of 2010, I even met with a seasoned Chautauqua performer for advice. However, a few weeks later I had a heart attack and my DP dream bit the dust.

I've been having fun putting things away. It took me forever to find the bathroom trash bin. I could not think where I'd stored it. I've got about 30 years of expired drugs to pitch out.

After DR SINGDAW first mentioned GRAND PIANO.....I found it online on one of "those" sites and was able to download it to take a look.
It is everything that is written about in the notes....and more!!!

I had UPS package my mother's sewing machine to send to my sister. They packed it. They charged me $98. And they broke it.
Back tn the day they used to have a huge warehouse down in Peachtree, GA where all the unidentifiable packages and/or package contents would end up
my proudest moment from my UPS experience is when I spent two whole days calling all over the country until I was able to trace the contents of a package being sent cross country that had never arrived
The contents were located in the Peachtree warehouse t
It contained a wedding dress- the brides' grandmother's wedding dress that had been worn by her mother and her sisters before her
his was back before computers or even fax machines so we had to do this by the bride describing to me in detail the dress, the packaging etc and me repeating the description over and over until the dress was found
and we got it back to her pressed, cleaned and in time for her wedding
