i thought for a moment that the tod was going to be your favorite Jodorowski film
but i'm glad that tod was about pastries.
i have two:
1) eclairs but it has to have custard and not cream
2) I know it as mille-feuille* but in the us of a it is call napoleon. once again it has to have custard and not cream
*literally translates to 1,000 sheets but the correct one (i believe) is 1,000 flakes

I saw one of two of the films mentioned (couldn't tell you which one), but I walked out after a man had his sack cut off with a pair of scissors.

I agree with DR vixmom about agreeing with DR Mike about Napoleons and Eclairs custard only, except that if you served me one (or two) with cream instead, I would do the polite thing and eat them.
And a nice cheese danish -- yes!
TOD:
Yes.
Give me anything else, from galaktoboureco to donuts, and I'm happy.
I make this easy tart with plenty of butter, almond extract and jam, and I'm a sucker for it as much as everyone else who tries it.

The man across the street who put the chair out in front of his house with a free sign on it....came by yesterday and asked for the chair back.
I told him it was at the theatre, and that I would see if it was still there on Wednesday.
This just confirms my suspicion that they are crazy.

Greek Galaktoboureko–Cream Milk Pie
“Galaktoboureko is a beloved traditional Greek dessert, although not as well-known as baklava among non-Greeks,” “It’s essentially a cream custard, wrapped in phyllo and infused with an orange-flavored syrup.”
DR TCB - Debbie and Carlton sang "That's How I Need You" at the piano in TWO WEEKS WITH LOVE.....the only other movie they were in together is THREE LITTLE WORDS, and I'm not sure Carlton sang with her in that movie....she played Helen Kane.

I think you've misunderstood, DR MBarnum. What he said was you can always get on his LAST nerve.

This is the Schmitt Music building in downtown Minneapolis.
The mural is an excerpt from the score for Maurice Ravel's "Gaspard de la Nuit."

does one move the piano to the parking lot to rehearse the score?

Cannoli (oh, my! oh, yes!) All sorts of different fillings, please.
I like mille feuilles. I don't really mind if they have custard or whipped cream, just a good quality of whatever is used.
The second coat is on and we now have the windows open. The temperature has dropped and the humidity is very low. After dinner we'll be able to put up the new curtains and put the room back together. Richard will be very glad to have access to his desk again.
back from my PET scan - now it s wait for the results time
Thank you for the vibes everything went very smoothly
Interesting, DR Ben. Alas, the building is now up for sale.
DR Jeanne, that is horrible. My complex has 101 apartments on 7 floors, and I have never waited more than a day for any kind of repair or fix. Usually it is done the day I put in the request.
However, I have been in your situation. I lived in a courtyard of 8 cottages back in the mid 1990s. The college girl in the cottage next door to me complained about the ants getting into her cottage. Next thing you know, she was evicted. In Oregon you can (or could) evict without a reason and I was afraid to ask for anything from those landlords!

QUICK & CONVENIENT PLUMBING VIBES FOR DR JEANNE!!!
Well storm is over for the nonce I broke my fast with chicken Marsala and spaghetti with a lovely sweet marinara
The Vixter's Boyfriend came in from Florida today and so I met them for lunch after the test
Jeanne, hope your plumbing issues are resolved soon!

Good evening! Which reminds me--many of the Alfred Hitchcock Hours are on youtube. I watched three over the weekend--one was with Nancy Kelly several years after The Bad Seed. I'd rather watch these shows than a lot of what's on these days.
I have been lasered, then came home and took a little nap. I REALLY needed the sleep.
Our local minor league team is the Ducks. Here is their mascot, Quacker Jack

Back from a grilled cheese and bacon sandwich and picking up a package.
Dayton's baseball team is The Dragons and their mascot is Heater, the (um) dragon:

thanks, Jane, but it wasn't the laser that made me tired. I just hadn't gotten enough sleep. The laser sometimes GIVES me energy, as it reduces the pain and heals the troubled area. I definitely have less pain than I did, even on bad days.
Thank you, ChasSmith, for the reminder that you could get a discount at Barnes and Noble on the Criterion movies in addition to the half-off sale. Got me "The Wages of Fear," which I've wanted for a long time, and "Chasing Amy," which was super cheap even before the discount.

Criterion announced their October releases today. The big one is THE COMPLETE JACQUES TATI, a total THRILL for the likes of me. And LA DOLCE VITA.

Busy day here. I need to think of something to watch and relax over before I start nodding off.

I think, DR TCB, that you are remembering the scene from "Three Little Words". A piano is being delivered on a city street and someone starts playing a bar or two of something. A young girl walking by, wearing a tam o'shanter (I wrote this because I've always wanted to write "tam o'shanter"), stops, listens and then says, "Boop Boop di Doop" (or WTHIW*) in a high squeaky voice. That was Debbie Reynolds as Helen Kane. The voice, however, was Helen Kane's. Debbie later lip-synched the entire "I Want to be Loved By You" song as sung by Kane with the trademarked "Boop Boop di Doop" (or WTHIW**) at the end.

I think I would prefer it to baklava.
DR George I hope you are enjoying your field trip.
George, I meant to thank you for your suggestion the other night for my side mirror. The part that's broken has to do with adjusting the mirror, so actually I don't want it to be too permanent. I'll play with some duct tape. But not today.
Off to watch THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL.

It is weird to me when people mention garbage disposals since we don't have them here. Or at least I do not know anybody who has ever had one.
