And the word of the day is: ROUNCEVAL!
It would be nice if, just once, I could get a picture of the damned cows.

Beautiful in NYC also. We had the AC on Wednesday night (even with the HUGE rainstorm) but it was off last night and will be for the weekend unless the weather takes a turn for the worse.
"Conjunction Junction" was indeed featured in the stage show, DR John G. :)

TOD:
The Essential Jacques Demy - I've spot checked the set, and it's a joy to behold. I'll watch LOLA first, since I've never seen it.
I've never seen SCANNERS, either, so that Criterion is up as well.
Other than that, some more AVENUE Q stuff needs to be looked at and listened to, and I need to take down a section of one song from the CD where we want tostealincorporate the changes made in the backup singers parts.
Last but not least, some vinyl records. I'm blown away at how incredible they sound with the new cartridge and I just want to keep going in there and listening to more.

Some of Lynn Ahrens first lyrics were heard on that show.
The car's gas lid opener-upper is FIXED. Let there be rejoicing throughout the land!
It's the room with the litter boxes, so I'm telling people I'm redecorating the cats bathroom
I gave my cane a name.........Michael
Stop me if you've heard this one before (you have), but I'm up early to go up to New Milford Volkswagen ("across the road from the cows") one more time for what had better be the final fix on the gas lid that has trouble opening. The problem obviously wasn't the "actuator" which they replaced a couple of weeks ago, so the other day they ordered a new switch, the thingy inside the driver's door, that sends the signal to pop the thing open. I know full well that the contacts in switches can wear out or become dirty (and there's no way to get any contact cleaner in there to clean this kind of thing). So I just hope this is, in fact, the thing that's wrong with the world. I also hope the service manager has it in his pea pickin' little heart to allow some kind of credit for the previous work that didn't fix the thing. Fortunately, this is not a "large" job as car things go.

They cancelled the labor charge to help atone for the second visit, and the part was only fifty bucks. And I didn't even have to remind them of this from a quick conversation the other day. Good for them.
Really want this week to end. Just found out that on the same day of my parents' car wreck, a friend of mine, Joyce, had a heart attack while driving and wrecked her car (no one else involved or injured). She was taken off life support yesterday.
Joyce was a Texas woman in the Ann Richards mold, though her politics were probably different. She had plenty of ranch life under her belt and could shoot out a zinger faster than a gunslinger could get off a shot.
She and I were part of a group that shared a house in Santa Fe during the Chili and Wine festival about 10 years ago, and I got to know her a little better then. My sleep area was the floor by the dining room table and she would come in early in the morning to fix her first cup of coffee, so we would talk a bit before anyone else got up.
She could keep up with me in both food and alcohol department, and she loved the years of practice that she had put in on both. But that didn't make her pretentious. On that trip, I really wanted to go to a burger joint I'd heard of, Bobcat Bite, and despite a full schedule, we managed to squeeze in a visit. It was my birthday, as I recall, and Joyce and I were the only two who could eat the entire burger, which I think was 1 pound and was beautifully rare. The rest split theirs. We then went on and had four other wonderful meals that day. And we talked about that burger for years thereafter.
So, my oven is now hopefully repaired.
DR George, the last Met Ring Cycle was awfully good!
Finally got a hold of my contact at Workman's Comp. They okayed the MRI for my knee but not my shoulder so that the Physio cannot do anything but massage and electric stimulation and heat. They cannot do anything for the left knee until after the MRI.
Meanwhile I am not able to work.
DR John, very sorry to hear about your friend Joyce. Such a nice recollection you wrote about her, however.
My endorphins are saying that it's too darn hot to do any kicking whatsoever. And I agree!
Such drama from a couple of the And the World Goes Round folks - hence our meeting today. I hope to be able to get everyone to understand they must stop it (it has nothing to do with the album or me) so we can just celebrate our release with everyone involved in the celebration.

Did DR Elmore say that his oven is fixed? I hope so.

I'm glad we were able to provide the F-16 escort.
Allie is indeed a purty cat. She also looks quite contented.

Cute. I hope they will still use the room after it is redecorated.

The delivery run to Mom's turned into a very difficult visit that almost resulted in a 9-1-1 call. She is living proof that longevity is a definite mixed blessing. It was hard to leave her and I will check on her again tomorrow.
I'm sorry you had a difficult visit with your mother, Ginny. I hope things improve with her.
Allie is indeed a purty cat. She also looks quite contented.
Thank you, DR Jeanne (and everyone else who's made nice comments)! It has become clear today that Richard is quite smitten with Allie.

I'm sure they will. It will still be a storage room with a cement floor and shelves.

That is sweet. I hope watching her will make you smile and be a good distraction. I just wish you could enjoy petting her.
I am off from work for the next several days as my knee has been in a lot of pain and I've been unable to walk without a cane. I've not been able to get a hold of the workman's comp rep. If she does call me today, I will go over her head and speak to her boss,

Thanks, DR Jane. I have plenty of distractions, but the thing from which I need to be distracted is the biggest distraction of all.

Have just returned from a community theatre production of Shrek, the Musical. I knew someone in the cast. While I find the material lukewarm, they did an excellent job - great orchestra, cast, and one of the finest physical productions for a community theatre that I have ever seen.
I like that, DR John G.!!! ;D
Back. With no cowpattpictures. DR Elmore may rest easy in this knowledge.

I think there's an answer in there somewhere, but perhaps you could be a little more direct.
