As most of you know, this month is the ten-year anniversary of my revue, What If. So it's only fitting that some stupid movie stole my title :) Once again, we're ahead of our time. The original title of this film was The F Word, which is a much better title than the one they stole.
I cannot afjord a trip to the fjords.

Love Wae-Ling's quote about the table, Laura.
I thought I had pre-ordered DR John G.'s book - but I hadn't. So that is now remedied.
Happy Birthday to former DR DERBRUCER!!!
"Wouldn't you just DIE without Mahler?"
Finally caught up with the rest of yesterday's posts. I'm very proud of you, too, TCB.
"Wouldn't you just DIE without Mahler?"
That's cheesecake, right?
Singdaw is vegan?
"Wouldn't you just DIE without Mahler?"

A pastry, I think.
;)

My boss found out today he's allergic to beef as well as mesquite, live oak and pecan, which are the woods we use to smoke beef. I think he's saying he's allergic to Texas.
Contrary to popular belief, Scandanavia is not the only place to see fjords. Of course, as BK noted, there is your local Fjord dealer. But you can also see fjords in Chile, which I saw when I cruised around Cape Horn and up the western coast of Chile.

DR Jane, I've talked casually with the social worker for independent living, where she is now. We both think she'd find assisted living really annoying.
When are you going to move?
From DR Ginny:QuoteDR Jane, I've talked casually with the social worker for independent living, where she is now. We both think she'd find assisted living really annoying.
I'm sure I would. I would also be happy for someone to come in and help me in my own home.

Napoleon's just a pastry.
and when you do,can I have your house please?
So, good for you, Vixmom, but evidently Olympia arts patrons need their beer buzz.
I think today I will go to the pool. Water is supposed to be medicinal. My knee is being to hurt again and the should has never stopped.
So, today I've got therapy
DR TCB, I am almost always proud of you.
Speaking of Der Brucer, has anyone heard anything?

Why am I getting an e-mail about a Closeout Sale on 2012 Fords? Aren't the 2015 about to come out?

Not if you think they're all robbing you blind and the men are after your body.
There are times, DR Jane, when I wonder if Mom even trusts me.
Would you buy a used car from this woman?

James Brady's death has now been declared a homicide as it was determined he died from the gunshot wounds received thirty-plus years ago when he and President Reagan were both shot.
And now, from the "How Was YOUR Day?" department: Itch-scratching elephant terrifies occupants of car (http://www.grindtv.com/outdoor/nature/post/itch-scratching-elephant-terrifies-occupants-car/)!
Vehicle is badly damaged, occupants shaken but unharmed in South African park:

And the TV service is finally bacj up and running.

Interesting that it is declared a homicide, not that it is. How often is an old injury like this declared a homicide?

Laughing Out Loud.
DR elmore3003 - I hope that your television service is restored in time for your usual Friday night PBS viewing.
Had a really fun lunch, then picked up a few packages, one of which seems to be a book all about barbecue lovers and Texas, by some bloke named John G.

Thank you for the pats on the back from BK and ChowMein!
From DR TCB:All the more reason to love it!QuoteWhen are you going to move?
Selling country property can take a long time, and in this market who knows. First we have to decide when we will put it up for sale, possibly in the spring.
We love it here but the children aren't coming home anymore.

Homicide is the killing of a human being due to the act or failure to act of another. It isn't the same thing as murder. I'm not sure that it's common to declare a death a homicide after so many years, but if his death was caused by the gunshot wound...well I supposed technically...

Oh my and thanks for sharing this story :) If I survived that I would want the photos.
I don't know what I would do if an elephant was sitting on my car! :)
While reading the reviews for today's free Nook book, actually a 78 page novella, one person said they read it in 4-5 hours. I know I'm a fast reader but is anyone, without a disability, that slow?
In his follow-up to the four-time Academy AwardŽ-nominated blockbuster The Help, Tate Taylor directs 42's Chadwick Boseman as James Brown in Get on Up. Based on the incredible life story of the Godfather of Soul, the film will give a fearless look inside the music, moves and moods of Brown, taking audiences on the journey from his impoverished childhood to his evolution into one of the most influential figures of the 20th century. Boseman is joined in the drama by Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Nelsan Ellis, Lennie James, Tika Sumpter, Jill Scott and Dan Aykroyd.

I had to look up the tick induced allergy. I never heard of anyone being allergic to beef for any reason so I looked it up. Apparently one can be allergic to all meat.

Well, I didn't spend much time lounging by the pool on that cruise. The fjords were stunning, I loved stopping in the Falkland Islands, and there was something rather amazing about sailing around Cape Horn and past Tiera del Fuego (just so I could type Tiera del Fuego).

A trailer for Lucky Stiff -- and they're not afraid to sing in it.

have no idea why this just popped into my head.
Here is a photo of Ethel Merman as Rose in Gypsy.
She is holding her dog Chow Mein. By the start of Act two he is no longer around.
In the song "Together Wherever They Go" Rose, Herbie & Louise sing
"Tomato sauce goes well with chow mien."
Now we know what happened to the dog.
Enjoy the movie DR George.
We rented BAD WORDS with Jason Bateman. I don't have high hopes.
