Are you kidding me?
They were promising rain all day today. Possibility of flooding. The whole bit.
Topic of the Day: I think I've only seen "How to Marry a Millionaire." :-\
Now that I'm home, i've got some things to accomplish on that eternal Jerome Moross project, then I hope to begin work on Chee-Chee.

Every time I see this, I think Chim Chim Cher-ee!
Oy!
The Kiss Me Kate critical edition vocal score is now published. I still don't know what's going on with the orchestra score.

It may come as a surprise to some, but I have seen way more Ed Nelson films then Lauren Bacall films.
Since Mr. Nelson passed away, as well, I'll just include him in the TOD :)
ATTACK OF THE CRAB MONSTERS
HOT CAR GIRL
NIGHT OF THE BLOOD BEAST
THE DEVIL'S PARTNER
T-BIRD GANG
THE YOUNG CAPTIVES
TEENAGE CAVEMAN
TEENAGE DOLL

Tantalizing!
I wish they provided a couple of sample pages for things like this, to better whet the appetite.

We are all rather shocked by this news ;)
Shayne, I believe the singers are called out in the notes in the booklet.
DR John G I enjoyed the story of your friends and the wake.Thank you. Since I couldn't go to Joyce's funeral, I was glad I learned about this get-together.
Against my better judgment, but with a bit of curiosity, I sent an email to a person with a foundation for which I once was employed.
I forgot AGAIN to mention my DVD'S from the Library:
REAR WINDOW
MIDNIGHT IN PARIS
THE SHOP AROUND THE CORNER
SCARLET STREET
THE ROMAN SPRING OF MRS STONE
THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES
MRS MINIVER
I have already seen all of these except THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES.
Any comments ?
I'm sure she was a terror with people who deserved it and sadly, those are the ones who start the diva rumors.

This one seems to have been ignored by the media, but musician Les Paul passed away yesterday at age 94.

He died August 12th, all right...but in 2009.

Well, why in the world did today's newspaper have something about it. I will have to go back and read it and see what the deal was.
Well, anyway...I hope people stop dying.
Well, I need to go to sleep now. At work, a driving simulator is "parked in the parking lot and available to staff to test their driving skills." I don't know why they did this, but even we non-courier staff can have a go at it. I'm signed up for the 1:00 pm time slot. A couple of co-workers yesterday said that they did fairly well. They both "killed" someone...but don't worry, it's all computer generated visuals and the "car" is set up in a very large van. No actual people were harmed during the testing of said co-workers' driving tests. We'll see what happens when I do it. Wish me luck!
That is very interesting, DR George - should be fun! Can't wait to hear about it.

Then you must rent from your library all the films she did with Bogart. Some DVD of the The Big Sleep (I think) have an alternate version. Highly recommend them.
Barbie stars as Merliah, a surfing champion from Malibu. One minute she's a normal teenager and the next she learns a shocking family secret: she's a mermaid. Merliah and her dolphin friend Zuma set off on an undersea adventure to rescue her mother, the queen of Oceana. With help from her new mermaid friends, Merliah saves the ocean kingdom. In the end, she discovers what makes you different can also be your greatest strength.
Tooth vibes for both DRs Singdaw and Ben!!!!

So, thee have been several interesting messages passed between myself and the foundation no longer employing me, I had to track down the photographer's name for last year's Dublin sessions, and I was asked to write the promo piece for New World Records' Roberta release. Changed all my plans for today.
And here's Kim for DR George!

How did that photo become so large, DR George?
Well, anyway...I hope people stop dying.
The most useful moment was when we had to drive on the freeway and the front right tire blew out. The steering wheel did actually pull to the right like it really would. I, naturally, took my foot off the gas, carefully applied the brakes and slowly tried to get to the right side of the road, but the guy said that the best thing is to actually either accelerate a bit or at least not take your foot off the gas so quickly. That way the car can stabilize, even with the blown tire, which will give you more control to be able stop. I really would've liked to have gone through that scenario several more times, just to really be able to remember the experience.
DR Ginny, do you remember this T-shirt? I do not!

I don't remember it, either, DR Elmore.
I will be buying that release, bk, to hear your commentary track.

the rain on Long island stays mainly in my basement
apparently we received our normal summer's rainfall of 11.75 inches in 4-5 hours...roads were impassable, cars were swept away , houses were flooded....
I got off lightly
I hope Anthony made it to Manhattan with his car without incident

I have never seen flooding like this unless accompanied by a hurricane
DR JRand, TCM will be having an "Allison Hayes" day in November!! All Allison, all the time!
THE DISEMBODIED
COUNTERPLOT
PIER 5, HAVANA,
ATTACK OF THE 50FT WOMAN
MOHAWK
ect,. etc., etc.,
Of course we both have all of those films on DVD...but it is nice to imagine that millionions (perhaps, billions) of television viewers will be enjoying her films for the first time! Possibly creating a new generation of Allison Hayes fans!
I wish I were in Dublin! Annalene, Kim, and John Wilson!

Why do I think I know Josh Prince? Did I recommend him to City Opera? Did i talk to him last year about recording the lead in ROBERTA? What's run away with my mind?

I think when I blew a tire going 50 miles an hour all I did was slow down some. I never stopped.

FORTUNATELY, this kind of flooding can't happen in the Tumwater area. Down in the Centralia/Chehalis area where some co-workers live, they can be flooded. One co-worker's house did get flooded a couple of years ago. She had to have the house raised up seven (I think) feet and shouldn't get flooded out again.

They had that type of flooding this morning in Bellevue.
