Title: FINISHING THE VOCALS
Post by: bk on September 04, 2014, 12:12:00 AM
Well, you've read the notes, the notes finished the vocals, and now it is time for you to post until the vocal cows come home.

Good morning, all! The apartment ghost drove me mad last night playing on the computer. I slept poorly, but I also had very weird dreams; the only one I remember involved the Royal Shakespeare Company doing my Appalachian show, only it was transferred to a poor Irish family and I recognized none of the music. At some point, i had to leave the production, and when I got back, my rooms had been assigned to Annalene Beechey and her family, and I could not locate anything in the apartment. I remember a bus ride with Annalene and her kids to a hospital and drain problems in the shower.

Around 8:30, I will leave for my barber and then head to Toyland.

Oy!  One long crazy dream.  Woke up feeling like a truck had run over me.  Even though that isn't what happened in the dream.

The site is really wonky this morning.  Off and on, though.  Off and on.

BTW, I only ever report such a thing when all other sites are fine, because I know the problem could be local to me.

And in other news, it already feels like a Benadryl day.

Eyes are itchy and my nose is going crazy.  We'd had a drop in temperature overnight, so the air is "different".  Supposed to be back to normal through the day, but some over-the-counter assistance is definitely called for.

DALLAS BUYERS CLUB
A YOUNG DOCTOR'S NOTEBOOK
HOLLYWOOD BEST CLASSIC MOVIES, WHICH INCLUDES:

ONE EYED JACKS
TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD

I really borrowed the above so I could watch TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, which I have seen several times!

I do my own gardening (although not too well since I work full time), and continuously fuss over all my flowering plants. I love impatiens because they bloom even when they're planted in areas that get zero sunlight. I also love petunias, but they need lots of sun so that's where I plant them. I have a couple areas where I switch out the annuals twice a year, but I mostly try to plant perennials so they last longer. I also have about 30 different rose bushes, which all have such interesting names. My favorites are the "flaming peace", "snowfire", "George Burns", "topsy turvy", "purple tiger" and "oranges and lemons".

TOD: I love irises and have ever since I was a kid. My old Kentucky home is surrounded by them in all sorts of colors, yellow, powdered blue, purple, bronze and black. The aroma is intoxicating to me.

I tried planting a type of iris in my backyard, but it was too cold for that variety, so they only lasted a couple of years. I haven't tried any others. I do have roses, salvia, morning glory, a Mexican love vine and esperanza in the yard as well as two crepe myrtle trees, which are covered with a lilac colored flower for about five or six months of the year.

My plumbago didn't survive the summer drought, and I need to plant some more. They're a particular favorite.

My friends grow zinnias and they've been giving me some of their great bounty lately. I may try those because they're so beautiful to have around.

Vibes for DR ELMORE's wagon.

The Dream-O-Matic is in for maintenance, but I would just say to DR ELMORE and DR CHAS SMITH that sun moving toward Libra is very likely to present us with convoluted dreams that are more to be forgotten and remembered.....  It will be much better after September 13, when more dreams of portent can be counted upon.

DD Zach is at a "dog boarding/dog day care & hotel" facility today, being evaluated. I will go and pick him up in a few hours and find out if he can get along with all the other dogs. We have never had to board him in the 13 years we have had him, but there may be some occasions coming up where he'll need to go there for a day or two. They have webcams where you can see your dog in their individual kennel and interacting with all the other dogs in the large playrooms.

Today is Thursday in the everyday world.  For me, it's my work week Friday.

I'm so glad I only had to work two days this week!

I'm totally ready to retire.  Every fiber of my being screams out to me to retire.

From foodterms.com:

Calf's foot jelly is:

An aspic made by boiling calves' feet until the natural gelatin is extracted. The liquid is strained, then combined with wine, lemon juice and spices and refrigerated until set. If sugar is added, it can be eaten as a dessert. Calf's-foot jelly was once thought to be a restorative for invalids.

Back from picking up the DD from his "evaluation."  He has been approved for boarding and/or daycare.

From what I can tell, they put him in the playroom with other, smaller dogs. Seeing as he is a senior citizen, it is probably smart that he is not in with all the big, high-energy critters. I did see him on the webcam - he mostly lay on the floor, while all the others did their thing around him. And he didn't seem too traumatized when I picked him up, so that is good.

Joan Rivers was taken off life support this afternoon. CBS News just reported her death.

Exactly as I said six days ago.  I had been told definitively (and posted here) that she'd arrived at the hospital brain dead.  That came right from someone who was at the hospital, but I wanted to make sure at that time everyone knew it was third-party information.  The various press releases from her daughter, who most certainly knew what was what, were all very misleading.  She was eventually called on it and had to finally admit that her mother was STILL on life support.

Well last night I unleashed the complete BANJO  onstage.....as per MR BK's suggestion.  What took me so long? You may ask.

Well, since you asked, it completely bumfoozled my scene partner.....Sheridan Whiteside hizzeff....even though I had been giving him hints and working in the direction for a week.

The director wants me to keep everything I did....and I may go ahead and add the rest of it tonight......

No one else onstage at any particular time had a problem with it....and in fact went along on the ride with me....

I did see him on the webcam - he mostly lay on the floor, while all the others did their thing around him. And he didn't seem too traumatized when I picked him up, so that is good.

Very good.  The big test will be how he reacts when you take him back.

Her daughter probably wasn't ready to accept it.

Good for you! ;)

Century Link sent a letter for $5 off the next phone bill.  All I had to do was call an 888 number, listen to the recorded message for 15 minutes, then talk to a live person and hear what they were selling.  The guy sounded very sad when I declined.  Thank goodness for the speaker phone and the internet to play on while I ignored the recorded messages.

Around 8:30, I will leave for my barber and then head to Toyland.
.  Please please completely shut down your computer at night vixdad says they are not ghosts they are hackers

Movies from the Library:

PANIC IN THE STREETS
DALLAS BUYERS CLUB
A YOUNG DOCTOR'S NOTEBOOK
HOLLYWOOD BEST CLASSIC MOVIES, WHICH INCLUDES:

ONE EYED JACKS
TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD
THE WILD RIDE
THE GREAT ST LOUIS BANK ROBERY

I really borrowed the above so I could watch TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, which I have seen several times!

I think the only one of these I have seen is To Kill A Mockingbird,  and of course that's a wonderful movie

I have plumbago, but the doctor said it might be too much red meat.

It's not a jar of jelly, in other words, but a gelatin mold.

And it ranks right up there with sweat peas, in my estimation.

How about sweet peas in a gelatin mold? Lime, perhaps. With tuna fish, rice, walnuts, celery and more? That was my favorite dish my mom ever made.

Your mother made sweet peas in gelatin?  With tuna fish?
