I guess they really don't expect a 64 year old fat man to leap over the back of the couch into a reclining position.....

Shootings at 84th Street and Amsterdam and at 83rd and Amsterdam last night! Just around the corner from me. I haven't lived in a neighborhood with shootings on the corner since 1980 when there were shootings at 94th and Amsterdam.
I, of course, blame the NRA.

I have NEVER played a part like this.....it explodes on the stage and never lets go. I am having great fun with all the physical comedy....and the audience seems to do so as well.
Last night I was interrupted by applause TWICE and got all of the same and couple of new laughs!

Break Legs with tonight's Big Fish!! And Good Luck with A Christmas Carol auditions! I really like the original cast recordings of both these shows. I just recorded the movie of "Big Fish" yesterday. I've never seen it...but I'll get to now.
Welcome home DR Ginny.
Bruce is this the same menu you saw? For one the #11 is different.

It happened with the mattress store --- there for 30 years , closed the month after we bought a mattress
the Beechtree Cafe... after more than 25 years , gone 2 weeks after our visit
The Garden Diner....after 10 years
The Chinese take out restaurant that had been in the same location since 1962 not only closed , it burned down the night we made our first visit in 2012
Last night after the wake, the Vixter and I went to a coffeehouse that has been in business for 10 years to have a light meal and a chat. We enjoyed ourselves and told the waitress we would be back.
She informed us that they were closing at the end of September since they lost their lease

Welcome home, Ginny! Glad you had a good trip. Any trouble staying heart-healthy in France?
DR Jeanne, I'm sorry I completely missed your recent news about your trip to the ER - had to go back through your posts to find the details. Glad to hear yo've had a quiet week, but TAKE NO CHANCES!
Bruce, regarding weight loss, I've found that I must be really judicious with carbs. A "sensible" diet just isn't enough. When I really cut the carbs I lose. (Well, I win, actually, but you know what I mean.)
I'm thinking about trying WarbyParker for my next pair of reading glasses. MUCH cheaper than what I've been paying. Has anyone tried them or other online opticians?

Welcome back, DR Ginny!
The best time to have a meltdown is when you are all alone and inside, vs in a car ;)
Vibes Myrna is a quick learner.
I am a bit klutzy and drop stuff fairly often.

Oh I had it in the car too, mostly in the garage
Earlier in the day, Fedex delivered a box to my front door -- but this is how i found the package. There were several items in the box. But this is what they took - two boxes of therma care heat wraps! Looks like some crook has a sore back! Have been a basket case most of the day, I live in a gated community and my front door is not in view of the street.

Hi DR Jane --
I'm a dorky klutz. My problem is that I topple things over at the office. Years ago, I started putting my beverage of choice in a stable cup and then placing that cup inside a coffee mug for stability. I saw these little gadgets on-line, but not sure how secure they are.
I dropped a grape on the floor and couldn't reach it. I used a fork to make up the distance between how far down I can go and the rest of the way to the grape :)
Well, you've read the notes, the notes were photographic, and now it is time for you to post until the photographic cows come home.

I'm looking at a big pile of towels on the floor that were just waiting for my pool towel before I did the load. There is no way I'm bending all the way to the floor to pick them up-not worth the pain.
So, what do we all think about Scottish Independence?I have no opinion. I don't know enough about the issue to make an informed opinion
Last night's weird dream:. I don't usually have any memory of my dreams but I do have a clear memory of last night dreaming about writing a check to my church
I was in bed, asleep, when someone knocks on the door and then walks into the room. It is a woman I used to work with me at Children's Services. Anyway, she comes in and says, "You can't see the Northern Lights tonight, so don't bother getting up."
So I didn't.
i hope Myrna is exactly the person you need to help your business flourishMaybe I should invite Vixmom to my office..... I can barely type in English you want me top type in Spanish.?
LOL, no I was so frazzled today I was thinking of closing

Carbs are my friends. They stick to my belly and my butt like nothing else. And they just stay around waiting for me to feed them more.

Me either, and I don't have any idea if it's a good thing, but the Scot in me says "Go for it".
When does Myrna start?
I know you said you have hearings and deadlines in the immediate future, but is there anyway you could schedule some time down the line where you could close the office (or leave Myrna just to answer the phone) so you could spend some time with your folks? Trust me, you can never get this time back.
Does the series The Roosevelts start tomorrow or on Monday?
I think that's why I'm finally melting down a bit. I'm finally realizing that I've had to act like Edith leaving her job the way she did, not getting the judicial position and finding out later the deck was stacked all along, and the hit my business took from all of the above didn't bother me so I could keep at it when all of it really hurt my feelings and frankly totally ticked me off. All of this at a time when I have a lot of hearings, brief and application deadlines. I know other people have worse problems than this, but I'm so tired of dealing with all of this
