Well, you've read the notes, the notes were the Godzilla of notes, and now it it time for you to post until the Godzilla cows come home.

And the word of the day is: HEGEMONY!
-
And the word of the day is: HEGEMONY!
That's a fun one to say. Like Okoboji. :)
-
Good morning, all!
I slept rather well. I was having a long, involved dream about a revival if a show I had staged in 1976 of You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown, which was going to Europe, perhaps under the sponsorship of the New York City Gay Men's Chorus since there were a lot of Chorus members in the dream, along with DR Ginny, Richard, Robert Kimball, and Darrel Brown, who played the title role. There were also rehearsals for The Beggar's Opera, and it's all very confused. I do remember that at one pointI said, "Is that London already?" and DR Ginny said, "we haven't reached Newark yet."
So, enough of dreams. I'm off to Toyland and hoping to be back by noon.
-
Today would be John McGlinn’s 61st birthday. He was a difficult man with much potential and too many personal demons.
Listen to one of his recordings and wish him well.
-
Howdy all! At least it's Thursday!
-
And the word of the day is: HEGEMONY!
And The Song Of The Day Is: LEADER OF THE PACK
-
I do remember that at one point I said, "Is that London already?" and DR Ginny said, "we haven't reached Newark yet."
;D
It's easy to confuse the two.
-
TOD:
I have no favorite Japanese monster movie.
I think all of them are stupid.
They're not like intelligent American monster movies like THE DEADLY MANTIS, THE MOLE PEOPLE or THE MONOLITH MONSTERS.
::)
-
BK - Great to hear the progress of the Sandy Bainum album!
-
Morning, all!
Don't think I've ever seen a Japanese monster movie that wasn't being heckled by the Mystery Science Theater 3000 crew. My favorite was probably a Gamera one in which they threw in a couple of "Chorus Line" references.
-
Ah, that old biblical tale of Sodom and Gamera...
-
Thursday morning greetings!

DR Elmore, I hope I was along as your rehearsal assistant (Beggar's Opera) instead of Lucy, because I'm too old to be climbing up on that dog house! We must have been flying from Dayton, because you have to go through Newark to get to London from there.

I guess that photo would count for Throwback Thursday!
Anyway, my plan for today is to go to Target for some household items and the new Barbra Streisand CD. Tonight my book group meets at Lynne's to discuss Katrina Kittle's The Blessings of the Animals. She's a Dayton author who is speaking at AAUW's book brunch on October 11.
-
Greetings from Toyland!
I won't be here long.

Re: Partners CD
Just noticed that Amazon's price is only $11.88, plus they give you a free download of album.

Was too excited for a sale, I forgot to first say -- GOOD MORNING ALL!
Make it a great day. :D
-
I liked DR CILLA LIZ's new minion avatar - although I miss the kitties.
-
MR BK is going to be busy this week....lots of fun things to do.
We had a great show last night, and three of my Achilles/Achilles Son actor-mates were in attendance with the director of said show....nice to see them again. We had a short talk-back with them. They are in acting-theatre classes at DePauw and had spent the last week studying the play and doing scenes from it, so it was interesting for them to see it onstage.
-
I felt the SAME way about the new Godzilla....where was HE? And what were those dumb monsters that nobody knew anything about?
The original GODZILLA is a favorite....from multiple television viewings. I also like:
GODZILLA vs MECHGODZILLA 2
GODZILLA vs. KING GHIDORAH
GODZILLA & MOTHRA: THE BATTLE FOR EARTH
GODZILLA vs BIOLLANTE
and many more of the 1980's/1990's films.
MOTHRA is my favorite other kaiju.
I also like the DAIMAGIN series....about a giant stone statue that comes to life and battles various villains and villagers.

Thanks DR FJL....three more to go!

Good morning, all.
-
BwayAnge, you're nearing a milestone.
-
And I am home an hour later than I expected to be.
-
DR BwayAnge belated happy birthday wishes to your little cowpoke.
-
Page one? Really?
-
I got seven hours of sleep - would have gotten more if the damn phone hadn't run at nine-thirty - not a person but a phonebot - not that I answered.
-
MR BK do you have any photographic evidence of your Banjo?
-
Finally found a picture of a Banjo older than me.

A very late good morning, all, and
Page Two!
-
Preview tonight and opening tomorrow night, so can't hang around long.
-
Can't do a lot of posting today, so just dropping in for some ketchup.
-
Sincere birthday wishes to the spirit of Mr. John McGlinn.
I will listen to something attentively and appreciatively this weekend.

Seems to me that they have it the other way 'round! :)

There's one photo somewhere from the second production I did. I thought it might be on the computer but I can't find it.

TOD:
I feasted on Godzilla movies, and the like when I was a child. Still love 'em. Never thought they were stupid. Well, maybe some of the later ones were kind of silly.
The first Godzilla/Gojira is an amazing film, with an excellent message
Godzilla Vs. The Thing
Son of Godzilla
There are a smattering of Godzilla films from the 80s and 90s that I have not yet seen. Terror of Mecha-Godzilla I have never been able to get through.
Walmart has (or had) a ton of Godzilla DVDs and Blu-Rays on a special rack for $5, $6, and $7 dollars...so I picked up a few of those I have not yet seen.
-
TOD Part 2:
Other Kaiju film favorites:
All three of the Daimajin movies are excellent, and so beautifully photographed
Rodan
Mothra
King Kong Escapes
Ghidrah The Three Headed Monster (which is technically a Godzilla film)
-
I enjoyed the new Godzilla film. It was great fun to watch at the theatre up on the big screen. It was worth the price of admission. That said, it is not probably one I would bother to watch again.
The only part of the movie that bothered me was at the end when Godzilla has saved mankind and is crashing his way through the city, heading back out to sea. All the humans characters are happy, and thankful and wishing Godzilla well...but I couldn't help but think of all the people he was crushing and killing as he smashed through those buildings, streets, etc to return to the sea! LOL!
-
I also was disappointed that the scene(s) with Akira Takarada (the star of the first Godzilla film) were cut out of the final release. :(
-
Today would be John McGlinn’s 61st birthday. He was a difficult man with much potential and too many personal demons.
Listen to one of his recordings and wish him well.
I have "Songs of New York" here at work. :)

Just back from a lunch trip to the Costco near the office. Seems they've sold out of "Barbecue Lover's Texas." Wonder what's happened with it at the other two stores.

Back from some lunch - cup of creamy tomato soup and a grilled cheese and bacon sandwich - and then picked up a couple of packages and did some banking. I'm home now until I leave for the Bewitched event.

Good afternoon. A very busy day here.

On this date in 1925, DEAREST ENEMY opened on Broadway, and Rodgers & Hart were no longer unknowns.

I remember when I was a kid (elementary school age) and having seen the Raymond Burr "Godzilla" on TV and enjoying being scared by it. I also remember seeing a commercial for (or maybe I just heard about) "Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster" and being excited to see it, but I never did see it. I don't know why...and I still haven't seen it. Maybe I'll have to rectify that situation. :)

Well, that is enough of that...oh, but what memories of my childhood!!! ;)
-
I can still remember the first time I saw KING KONG ESCAPES. I was home sick from 2nd grade and it was showing on Dialing For Dollars noon movie. I had missed the first 5 or 10 minutes, but loved every minute of the rest of the film. It remains a favorite film of mine to this day! I even had lunch once with the star of the filim!

I enjoyed your trip down memory lane.

I am having some bad luck today. :(
I hate looking for something that should be in a certain place. I've spent over an hour trying to find my scrapbooking scissors which I used yesterday. They are always in their box. i remember yesterday being tired and putting them on my desk. I remember thinking I should put them away because i didn't want to lose them. I thought I put them in their box. But when I went to use them today they were not there. I looked everywhere around my desk, under my chair. I moved a lot of stuff just in case it fell in a drawer.
It is driving me crazy. These are scissors that are super long (the length of 12X12 pager). I have never seen them anywhere. And I really wanted to scrapbook.
Also my bike is having problems. The handlebars have become loose and are moving up and down a bit.I tighten them and they seem fine. But today they don't seem to tighten properly. And I've been biking everyday. :(
It sort of takes a lot to put me in a bad mood. But I am in one now.
-
DR Jennifer have your nieces been over since you left your scissors out?
-
Scissor finding vibes to DR Jennifer. I've always liked the word scissor
-
I got one of the VIP tickets for Robert Irvine. It isn't until March 7, but I had to get it now. There are 83 VIP seats.1 hour after they went on presale there were 15 left. I'm guessing they may be gone by now.
-
Really looking forward to the cooking seminar before the show
-
Cilla I failed to mention how I like your new Avatar very cute
-
and congratulations on snagging a VIP ticket
-
Hello!
-
we are waiting here for a call from At & T to see if there was anything done about reducing our phone bill
-
and congratulations on snagging a VIP ticket
Thanks!
-
TOD: I don't think I've ever seen a Godzilla movie
-
we are waiting here for a call from At & T to see if there was anything done about reducing our phone bill
Vibes it works out and they reduce the charges. Do you know what caused the huge bill?
-
I'm thinking they showed Godzilla movies to us at school when I was young. Maybe once or twice a year in the auditorium. We watched them on TV too. Don't remember which was which just that the words never matched the mouth movement
-

part of it was over $100 in roaming charges for Canada -- i am sure were were signed up for plan that covered us in the US AND Canada - they say we have not had that plan in years which means at some point it was changed without us knowing it
-
also we used to be entitel to free phone upgardes every tow years and suddenly "oh we dont do that anymore" we will give you a phone for free but you have to pay a $40 activation fee
-
Cilla I failed to mention how I like your new Avatar very cute
Except I have trouble remember it is Cilla ;D

Good luck. It sounds like you were using your cell phone too much in Canada and those out of country charges are high.
-
Vibes you get the charges reduced!!!
-
Oh, before I take a trip out of the country I always call my carrier to confirm what my calls & texts will cost. I don't trust them from one trip to the next.

I grabbed this photo off of facebook so everyone might not be able to see it. It is a photo of the Kings Fire from Tahoe.
This fire is growing exceptionally fast at over 2,000 acres a minute. I have a friend very near it.

I went to two different Target stores last night and the second one that I went to only had the one copy that I got. I've listened to both discs (the second disc only has five tracks, and only one new track) and really enjoyed it...even the Elvis song. Even though I'm really losing interest in her doing nothing but ballads anymore, I thought that these were all well done. I don't think that I'd lose interest as quickly in the long run if they were within a mix of various songs of differing tempos performed by various artists.
Just my 2˘.

Yes, I did

Thanks, I'll pass along your birthday wishes to Tyler!

There has been a pressure system shift in the area that has caused a massive headache for me. I'm just going to trudge off to bed.
I have to be up early anyway. Bonnie and I are going to be on a local morning show to promote the book.
Good night, all.

I shall now be on my way to the Bewitched Fan Event. Have no idea what it is but I'm sure I'll have a full report for you.
Have fun!

Feel better DR John.
I'm finding I can actually sit at the computer for a little while and still be able to move when I get up :)

He's calling in Jesus, Joseph, and Mary? Big guns!

Back home. Preview was one of the better ones I've lived through. A few little bloopers, a small train wreck or two, both with excellent recoveries. Now we just have to pull off a damned good one tomorrow.

Also sending good vibes to John G for the morning talk show -- headache be gone.
Jennifer -- hope you were able to find the scissors?
Just finished my fourth week at the new job. Still pinching myself. It's been ages since I've had a kind employer. The company is owned by a husband and wife -- she was a high school classmate. They are thrilled to have me as a part of their team. Sounds like God answered both of our prayers!

It's already in the morning in Scotland. SPOILERS: There will be no change in the UK line-up.

Anyway, BwayAnge, Congrats on reaching your first milestone!!

Page three?? Do you have your settings set correctly?
Only quickly perused the discussions when I came home from work. Finally had a chance to go through the pages and spotted all the Godzilla photos. LOL
