Well, you've read the notes, the notes were brainy and Zenny, and now it is time for you to post until the Zen cows come home.

And the word of the day is: MYTHOMANE!

good morning to all

Stir Crazy
I was there a few weeks ago and we mentioned that to him. He acknowledged it and told us to contact corporate head quarters. He also told us that since they mdd the changed that he has had tables get up and leave because of it.

Good morning, all! In an hour, I shall bus dwn to my HMO and hopefully get the correct flu shot for us older coots. I will return here, continue the work on Paint Your Wagon and see how far I get. Around 1:00, the Time Warner technician will show up to investigate my internet problems.
Joshie informed me yesterday that he needs me next week to help him prepare for the Encores! Gala so I'd like to get as far as I can over the weekend with PYW before I switch jobs. I'm grateful for the work since it will help me catch up financially to August. Yesterday, I finished off the last frozen vegetables in my freezer.
-
Oh, dear, I seem to be up. I think I'll go back to sleep in a while, at least that's the hope.

Good morning.

Good morning, all.
At least I hope so. I was allergy-sneezing yesterday afternoon and evening, and took Benadryl to ensure a decent sleep. Still sniffly this morning, so I'll take all the vibes I can get that this isn't a cold, since there really couldn't be a worse time for one.
For now,
Coffee!

Continuing work vibes for DR Elmore!
-
At least it's Thursday. What that means I have no idea.

One weird dream I had was about a monkey infestation in DR vixmom's house.
Yes, that's what I said. A monkey infestation in DR vixmom's house.
Some mornings, you just need to get the hell out of bed.
-
Well, there is much to do, so I will be scarce today.
Monkeys Vibes to all!

T.O.D.
The restaurants that I "loved" no longer exist.
In Seattle: Pancho's
In Los Angeles: The Brown Derby, Tail 'o the Cock, the Cock and Bull, Frascatti's.

Thursday morning greetings! MORE rain here in SW Ohio :P
I'm trying to track down a notary this morning for the signing of the lease on a new book sale site for AAUW. The one the book sale chairs had lined up backed out late last evening. Time is of the essence because the signing is scheduled for noon. Pray for Rosemary's baby...
-
I got to my HMO at 8:50, waited 10 minutes, got my flu shot, caught a bus and stopped at the market, all in less than an hour.
I think it was two years ago after the shot that I thought I was getting sick with the flu; that's never happened before or since. I hope the good luck continues.
And to work.
And breakfast.
-
I've added 2 more of of my book titles to the Kindle Select program, which means that if you own a Kindle, you can read these books FREE through Amazon's Kindle Unlimited and Kindle Owner's Lending Library. The new titles are:
DILLINGER AND CAPONE
SARAH GOLDEN HAIR
Enjoy!
-
DR Elmore, the only reaction I had to my flu shot was a sore arm. Hope you don't even have that!
-
My ptomaine?
-
Happy Thursday, all and everyone (did I leave anyone out?)!
-
The bait box in my back yard is really working well. There was an almost dead rat in my front yard this morning. Thankfully, my gardeners were here and they removed it, as well as the 2 dead mice from yesterday.
-
I found a dead vole in my driveway on Tuesday.
-
OH!!! I passed a millstone and didn't notice.

Entertaining HHW for over 60.000 posts!

I will be interested to hear what is wrong with DR GEORGE's car. My guess is thermostat.....
DR CILLA LIZ, I may have asked you before....but do you know what happens when the 1st violinist for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra dies?
.....they move him up one chair.
-
Two!
-
Good morning, all.
Congratulations, JRand, on your milestone. And remember, "There are milestones, there a millstones ..."

TOD:
The Oriental House in Louisville, Ky. It's up the street from my folks and it was owned by different people 40 years ago. Back then, we never ate out, except on a rare occasion and it was almost always at the Oriental House. The food was better then, but it's OK now. My folks still eat there regularly. I'm sure I'll eat there at least once over Christmas, but no shark fin soup any more, the lobster sauce is no longer made from lobster shells, ...
-
TCB, you'll never be too old to renew.

Show vibes for DR Ryako.
Car vibes for DR George.
Continued knee vibes for DR Mike.
And sprinklings of vibes for all else.

So, AAUW Middletown is now leasing a retail space in Kitty Hawk Plaza for the 2015 used book sale. Many of us will be very glad to get boxes of books out of our garages.
And, thanks to Facebook, we had a notary!
-
Yes DR JOHNG - but Goldstone is a gem!
-
OH!!! I passed a millstone and didn't notice.

Hmm...I hadn't thought of that. Of course, I know practically nothing about cars, so it's not surprising that I hadn't thought of that.
:D

Well, I just got a call from the auto shop and they could find NOTHING wrong with my car! They pressure tested the radiator and looked at all the belts and fluids and nothing seemed amiss. So, it'll only be $49+tax, which is great, but what the heck happened when it all actually happened? ???

You didn't put oil in your car and you were lucky you didn't damage it.
-
DR George, as Geoffrey Rush says in Shakespeare in Love, "It's a mystery!"

Yes...well, the oil was low, but it certainly wasn't bone dry. The dipstick registered at the low end of the range, but it still showed oil. :)
-
And where the smoke was coming from in my engine when I looked, didn't seem like something that the oil level really would've affected.
-
But yes, I do need to check the oil more often. ::)
-
Where the heck is TCB...with all this uncertainty over "dipsticks" hanging in the air?
-
Well....$49 is good......maybe you ran over something on the road that got flipped up onto your hot engine......
MYSTERIOUS.....
-
I've been watching the 2nd season of CHEYENNE.
What amuses me is how the studio was able to get away with using stock footage from old movies and obvious phony backdrops in these mid-1950s black-and-white shows when we all had TV sets that were 14-19 inches.
I have a 50" set now, and that that is definitely Joel McCrea riding across my screen...not Clint Walker.
:D
-
At least the scenery changes. In The Lone Ranger & Roy Rodgers they used the same rocks over & over again.
-
A very nice Time Warner technician came by, checked the cables going to computer and TV, checked my modem, replaced a USB cable, and everything seems okay now. Leave us hope,
-
What a nutty day. I went back to bed and got three more hours of sleep, so I suppose I got six hours all told.
-
I was awakened by the door bell - the helper was here for the Costco run, so we did that, I got the motor car washed, then came home.
-
Doug Haverty really wants to include the lyrics to my songs in the Sandy booklet, so I'd already gotten him nine a few weeks ago, those I'd done for the guy who did the lead sheets. So I had to do the remaining six, so that's what I've been doing. So, now I must wait for dinner, which I wish were happening sooner. Maybe I'll go get a cup of soup to tide me over.
-
Maybe I won't.
-
Maybe I'd like to be off this damn page. Page two? Really? At two o'clock my time.
-
How can this be?
-
This is like pulling teeth.
-
Now, thanks to all the errant and truant, I am my own frenzy.
-
Well, no one can say we didn't get to page three.
-
Had a very nice call from Jason Graae, who finally heard And the World Goes Round - he was VERY happy with it. The cast really knows what a miracle we performed, as they had to sing to all of that horrible trumpet, trombone and reed stuff that we ultimately replaced.
-
It was so bad at one point during Christiane Noll's How Lucky Can You Get, that she finally sat down and said, "I'm here and ready whenever you guys figure out how to play it."
-
We did much better with TalkinBroadway than with Steven Suskin:
http://www.talkinbroadway.com/sound/october1614.html
-
I'm tired as I picked up about a million acorns and acorn shells.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
So I bit him.
-
Just had a bite-sized Big Hunk and Abba-Zaba to tide me over - only 100 calories and it did the trick.
-
what the heck happened when it all actually happened?
If I had a nickel for every time I've asked that question...
:)
-
I'm tired as I picked up about a million acorns and acorn shells.
And none of that third item, I hope... ;D
-
Congratulations on the review, DR elmore3003!
-
Congratulations on the new milestone, DR Jrand64!
-
Are we on page 3 yet??
-
Congratulations on the review, DR elmore3003!
Thanks! It's better than Suskin's.
-
Just read the review - what an odd review and that guy is just so unpredictable and raves about the worst stuff with a piano and voice, while not giving these major albums their due. Or maybe he's just trying to BE Suskin.
-
At least the scenery changes. In The Lone Ranger & Roy Rodgers they used the same rocks over & over again.
LOL!
-
Lord love a duck, I just finished the RAGTIME score.
Now I have to sit down and be able to play it acceptably for the first orchestra reading on Sunday.
-
Congratulations on the review, DR elmore3003!
Thanks! It's better than Suskin's.
Not for me...he doesn't mention you once. It's apparently all original, Berman OR something out of the void.
-
I just read on FB that Tim Hauser, the bass and original founding member of The Manhattan Transfer, has just died. :'(
I'd seen them perform live about a dozen times over the years.
-
Yes, I kept waiting to read DR ELMORE's name as well.
-
I am an MT fan.....not as much as DR GEORGE....but this is sad news.
-
Frank and Jon just rounded up a group of "actresses" who were dealing in stolen cars including Firebirds, XKE cars, Lincolns, and Camaros.....
CHPS is on ME Tv.
-
I'm tired as I picked up about a million acorns and acorn shells.
And none of that third item, I hope... ;D
The bats are gone, however, Keith had 4 humongous piles of bear scat to clean. I refused to help him figuring I would not be able to carry a shovel filled with even one of those.
-
We have a slate roof and today, after 17 years here, we had a roofer clean it. It looks very nice. A good amount of dirt, moss, acorns & leaves was blown down on me while I was working.
-
"Actress" just told Ponch she got into stealing cars because she couldn't go back to Minnesota a failed "star".....so she did what anyone naturally would do....she starting heisting cars for a fat man who smokes big cigars and works out of a warehouse in Oceanside.
-
Good news about the bats DR JANE.....I won't comment on the bears.
-
A number of years ago we saw the MT perform at the Britt Festival near us. They were still good.
-
Good news about the bats DR JANE.....I won't comment on the bears.
Bat guano is very small and we don't have that many bats.
-
That could be the subject of a scientific dissertation.
-
I'm now listening to this video while I'm working: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdHYPei6m1w

I like that!

Four Humungous Piles of Bear Scat - that's the title of my next novel.
-
Thinking about posting ONE song from Sandy's new album. Just have to figure out which.
-
Congratulations on the review, DR elmore3003!
Thanks! It's better than Suskin's.
Not for me...he doesn't mention you once. It's apparently all original, Berman OR something out of the void.
I don't care about being mentioned. I want the recording to sell. Suskin has not given me one review that would sell a recording; he's usually just condescending when he's not downright hostile and to busy letting the reader know how informed he is about everything but music.
-

Oh, that old story.
-
This is unbelievable.
My gardener was here today and he threw out the bait box that we put in the back yard on Monday that has already killed 3 rodents.
I will be deducting the cost of the box from his bill.
-
Well, no one can say we didn't get to page 4 (with no help from me).
-
Congrats to Jrand64 on your milestone!
-
Happy Birthday to Angela Lansbury! Hope to see her next year when "Blithe Spirit" comes to DC.
-
Looking forward to Unsung Irving Berlin, which I found on amazon.com. DR elmore had mentioned it to me when I saw him. Thanks for the suggestion, DR elmore!

Where did he throw it? Maybe it can be retrieved.

The body of Seattle actress,Misty Upham, was found late this afternoon. She had disappeared almost two weeks ago after a family dispute. She appeared in the films AUGUST, OSAGE COUNTY and DJANGO UNCHAINED.
-
That is sad.
-
My problem with 1941 is John Belushi. When this movie was made the whole world thought Belushi could do no wrong. But he can. And he did. He must have been high as a kite the whole time he was making this movie.

And the word of the day is: MYTHOMANE!
From MYCOOKING.

Jrand - If you had recalled my post on: October 12, 2014, 05:13:39 PM »
Counting down (or is it counting up?) to Jrand's 60,000 milestone.
you would have seen the milestone coming. :)
-
I would not make a very good vegitarian. I had corn and poblano lasagna for dinner tonight. I kept thinking how much better it would be with some chicken or ground beef added.
-
There are vegetarian foods that can be added to give the texture of meat or chicken.
-
The texture of meat isn't meat. I couldn't be a vegetarian
-
But I have nothing against those who are vegetarians and when I have friends over who are vegetarians I make sure there are choices available that are real food not just a salad
-
Hopefully dinner companion will be here in twenty minutes because I am STARVING. Thinking about the Hamburger Hamlet.
-
We have GODZILLA to watch. It came from Netflix and in spite of being told we needed to update our software to watch newer movies, it works just fine. Keith did check the software & it was up to date & the fact Godzilla works fine proves the problem with the other DVD was not ours.

I just got GODZILLA from my library. I'll see if I get any kind of message to update my player.

And now, I must be off. Tonight we start the second weekend of "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) [revised]." Hopefully, the actors ran their lines while they were off. They didn't have a pick-up rehearsal last night.
Be back later.

My problem with 1941 and a couple of other movies is EDDIE DEEZEN........

Back from discussing Liane Moriarty's The Husband's Secret with my book group. The book isn't the chick-lit the title sounds like. Emilie served a great apple crisp that tasted like fall.

I wondered if you were a notary and Vixmom, too. My sister is, but she's in Michigan.

Had to take Callie to the vet. She has arthritis and that's why she's in pain. They don't have real pain pills for cats. I have some the vet gave me but you can only use them for 3 days, so I'm going to save them until she has a bad day

we notaries know a lot about cars! :)
-
I sometimes wonder what it is that these people are listening to. I agree that Jason Graae is the best thing about Roberta. He seems to be channeling Bob Hope in a way that's really eerie. He's also wonderful on And the World Goes Round. But he is not the sole delight of either album. He fits in with the ensembles. The music is the real star of both, and the reason both were made.
-
Watching a not bad/not great bootleg of "Beautiful." Jessie Mueller is wonderful. The choreography is dreadful, but it's all a lot more fun than I thought it would be.

Silly story, but cleverly done, and overall delightful.

Well, even though they were off for four days, the three guys had a great show tonight...sadly, there were only seven audience members, but they were very enthusiastic!
