Well, you've read the notes, the notes were so Tuesday and had good news, and now it is time for you to post until the good news cows come home.

Good morning, all!  I've not heard from Joshie so I will not be going to City Center this morning.  I shall return from physical therapy, do the laundry, and clean the apartment, both very necessary.

I did bring home more scores for Paint Your Wagon so I do have work and I'm happy to have it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  Good mid-week vibes to all!  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Are you able to post a song/dance list from Paint Your Wagon? Since I will not be able travel to NYC at this time to see the show I would be curious to see what numbers are going to be used.
I am disappointed to read that THE BAND WAGON that is going to be performed at Encores is going to be adaption of the film and not the stage show which was a revue. There has never been a complete recording of the score as it was done on stage.
No, because that's not been determined yet. Rumor is that they will be doing the original Broadway book.
I do know I'm putting in some good practice on RAGTIME today.  I need to get my head more out of the book, and work on hitting more of the rather incredible number of left-hand chord stretches of a major tenth.  I can reach most of them, but need to get in shape for actually hitting them each and every time.  The sound is so satisfying when you get them as written.
Have you come across a song that was written for the show called "What Do The Other Folks Do?" later reworked for Camelot?
And I m not going to physical therapy this morning because my HMO, which changed its interior workings to something called AdvantageCare nce again has shafted me with its inept and inefficient referral system. Ridiculous!
I'm grateful I discovered it and checked before I left the apartment.
We enjoyed watching A LIFE IN THE THEATRE last night with Jack Lemmon and Matthew Broderick.
I recall seeing it on stage in Los Angeles, probably in the 1970s, with Stephen Elliott and Bruce Davison.
Wednesday....we are coming up quickly on election day....so start thinking.
It is a nice day here weatherwise....and it's nice because I don't have anything I have to do.
Perhaps I shall listen to some CD music today.
There was a documentary on TCM last night about Edgar G. Ulmer.  I thought it was the same one that is on the EGU Box Set, but when I turned on the last few minutes of it, I discovered it was NOT....I am hoping this is on TCM On Demand so that I can see it.
I watched about half of it, then was getting tired, so will finish it today.
I found it interesting because Ulmer directed DETOUR with Tom Neal, who is one of the three characters in my play, B MOVIE.
I watched several episodes of CHEYENNE over the weekend, and I couldn't help noticing how so many of the younger actors on that show were giving "stage," rather than "screen" performances.
Then, there was an episode guest starring John Carradine.  He could be so dynamic on screen, yet he knew how to underplay on camera for maximum effect.
I saw him do a couple of stage shows (i.e. THE WINSLOW BOY, SHADOW AND SUBSTANCE) at the Cirque Playhouse in Seattle during the late 1950s and also got to know him somewhat after I moved to Los Angeles.
He was really a magnificent performer.  Aspiring performers should watch him to learn how it's done.
ASK BK
Have you ever thought of getting a "FRONT" to get back your favorite masters from the previous label? It seems that they do that. As an example: Perhaps Mr. Sherman (THE FRONT) purchase "Believe: The Songs Of The Sherman Brothers" and then it can be released the way it was meant to be. i.e. properly mixed
I've actually talked to Richard about it, but it hasn't happened yet and I'd have to know they have everything that I would need, i.e. all the hard drives, for a remix.
Got a silly question:
Does everyone do the login-logout thing every time?  I don't.  I close the tab when I'm done, but if I recall correctly, I had checked the "keep me logged in" box which keeps me from having to do anything but click on my HHW bookmark, and I'm always in right away.
I just wondered, in a moment of idle wondering, if that keeps my name up there on the page in perpetuity...which would certainly be misleading.
I think that when you leave, you are "offline" and time does not accrue.  But, you are still logged in for purposes of not having to sign in each time.
Istanbul was Constantinople
 Now it's Istanbul, not Constantinople
 Been a long time gone, Constantinople
 Now it's Turkish delight on a moonlit night
Every gal in Constantinople
 Lives in Istanbul, not Constantinople
 So if you've a date in Constantinople
 She'll be waiting in Istanbul
Even old New York was once New Amsterdam
 Why they changed it I can't say
 People just liked it better that way
So take me back to Constantinople
 No, you can't go back to Constantinople
 Been a long time gone, Constantinople
 Why did Constantinople get the works?
 That's nobody's business but the Turks
I never log out.  I just either close my browser or go to another website.  Every once in a while at work, our computer system logs me out of everything and have to log back in to things, but it's only every couple of weeks or so.  It's something that they set up "for security reasons." ::)
Whatever.
DR ELMORE here is a better photo of THE CAKE from the wedding 10 days ago....this is the room set up for the reception....the Cole Porter Room is where the bar was set up.
(https://scontent-b-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfp1/v/l/t1.0-9/1655855_10152846210032495_2327694709787693375_n.jpg?oh=2b0af9c84e33ad8271ab21c8783c646a&oe=54EA5849)
Did the cake taste as good as it looked.  The cake and room both look lovely.
I've had an ear worm for the past few days.
It's the Bette Midler version of Istanbul (Not Constantinople)   (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVU8dMIHglM).
I've always liked this song.  However, I'd never heard the original version by The Four Lads (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SP3CF6YBU_8) before.
Got a silly question:
Does everyone do the login-logout thing every time?  I don't.  I close the tab when I'm done, but if I recall correctly, I had checked the "keep me logged in" box which keeps me from having to do anything but click on my HHW bookmark, and I'm always in right away.
I just wondered, in a moment of idle wondering, if that keeps my name up there on the page in perpetuity...which would certainly be misleading.
Signed,
110 days, 11 hours and 59 minutes
I think that when you leave, you are "offline" and time does not accrue.  But, you are still logged in for purposes of not having to sign in each time.
Yes.  What he said.
There hasn't been terrorism like this since the 60's and 70's when the FLQ was blowing up mailboxes climaxes with the kidnapping of politicians and the eventual murder of one of them.
