Well, you've read the notes, the notes were like a Chinese Box, always more notes, and now it is time for you to post until the Chinese cows come home.

Good morning, all! When I woke at 4:30, I was dreaming about discussing with an employer a possible recording, I then lay awake far too long before I dozed back off and dreamed something about my goddaughter Charlotte, Jerry Orbach, and a cineplex.

This morning, i have therapy. When that's over, I will call Joshie to see if I am needed today at City Center.  If not, I will send him an invoice, and accomplish some work here.  I need to vacuum the apartment.

I know I have read Writer's Block and Rewind, and remember the general gist of each, and that I enjoyed them both, but I could certainly benefit from re-reading them.

Last night, a small choral group that I participate in held an event at a new brewery in town. We sang a few pieces from our upcoming concert of Renaissance music, as well as some rowdy Elizabethan drinking songs. For the most part, the folks that showed up because they knew we would be there listened attentively, and the general patrons couldn't have cared less. But all in all, it was a unique and fun event. The brewery doesn't serve food, but there was an Italian food truck parked right outside. There was also a resident dog (belonging to one of the owners) who greeted everyone.

I'm on record as having been thrilled with the Chinese Box construction of Writer's Block, but when I went back to see what I'd said about it, I was amazed to be reminded that I'd read this one straight through in one evening.  I look forward to a second reading, and I'm not just "saying that".

I have a special spot for REWIND as I thought that one of the characters was sort of, kind of was based on me. But you will have to read the book to see what I am talking about.

I have AMAZON PLUS for a month and have been seeing some old favorites and new ones. I have to make it through some of the new ones The worst so far was Inframan a Japanese film from 1975. I like cheesy Japanese special effects but the story was terrible. Too juvenile and from what I watched of it I think Mighty Morphin Power Rangers "borrowed" some concepts from this film.

THIS IS A BIT DISTURBING

This morning we were watching TV and, suddenly, an emergency message comes on line from The White House, changing the channel we were watching and not allowing us to change back to our channel until we turned off the set and turned it back on. This situation began about 45 minutes ago and is still going on. Indeed, even the sound is being cut off at times.

I spoke to Uverse and they confirm that this is, indeed, coming from The White House, but they are not aware of any national emergency.

Does anybody know what is going on?

One of my favorite lyricist is David Zippel who should do more musicals. One of my favorite singers of all time is Nancy LaMott. David Friedman is doing an indiegogo fundraiser for a restoration project to release a new CD of "Nancy LaMott Sings David Zippel". There are 10 days left (Ends November 2nd) and they have surpassed their goal. Take a look at what they want to do with this project and perhaps you will be willing to contribute. At one level David Friedeman and David Zippel will even write a song for you of your choice.

Just before we left for the surgery center this morning, I discovered a casualty from yesterday.  When I was transferring the frozen food from the old fridge to our stand-alone freezer, I used my rolling Ikea cart.  Apparently, I overlooked the bottom shelf, where I'd put a partial bag of boneless chicken breasts.  They'd thawed, of course, so I've thrown them out.  If I'd discovered them last night, I could have cooked them and made chicken salad or something, but I thought 19 hours was too long...

I decided to walk to the bank and do some banking, which is what I like to do at the bank, then, even though I'm having an early dinner meeting at five, I walked over to Jerry's Deli and had a cup of chicken soup as a preventative.  And since I have no intention of having any bread and butter for dinner, I had a bagel with the soup.  So, tonight I'll just order my pasta dish and no salad and it will be exactly the same amount of food I'd have eaten if I hadn't had the soup and the soup has less calories than the Caesar, too.

Right now, I'm listening to the new live cast recording of "Miss Saigon."  I love the live aspect of it.  And the singers are all pretty good.  Although the Chris' vibrato is a little too pronounced.  He sounds older than the character should...in my opinion.  But it doesn't ruin the whole recording at all. :)

Well, it's time for me to leave work.  First, I have to go to the theater, but I can't stay.  I won't be running the sound board for "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) [revised]" tonight.

I'll just have time to drop off the money till because I have a union meeting at 7:00.  As soon as the meeting is over, I'll go to the theater to pick up the till.

Which is a long time after seeing them 4 times a year for about 9 years.  I saw a few in Toronto, but not many and I got in the habit of touring instead of doing all the social events so, maybe NOLA in February.  Not sure.  Sort of depends on what kind of airfare I can get.

I seemed to have stumbled across the answer:

False 'Emergency' TV Warning Sent to Some AT&T U-verse Subscribers

Morning television viewers across several states got a jolt Friday when a radio broadcast erroneously triggered an alert of an emergency warning system generally reserved for moments of national distress. There was no national emergency on Friday morning.

The warning flashed across television screens and broke into regular programming, claiming to come “at the request of the White House.” The Federal Emergency Management Agency said that the erroneous message came about after a syndicated radio show played a series of tones that set off alerts at other radio and TV stations.

“This morning, there was an inappropriate playing of the national emergency alert notification tones on a syndicated radio broadcast,” FEMA spokesperson Rafael Lemaitre said in a statement. “Certain alerts, like the one broadcast today, are designed to be automatically picked up and rebroadcasted by other radio and TV station. FEMA and the FCC are currently working with broadcasters to determine the full scope of the situation.”

The warning was an unpleasant early-hours surprise for some AT&T U-verse subscribers in states including Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas and Texas, and they took to Twitter for an explanation.

The false warning “was carried on our network, as well as some other providers,” an AT&T spokesman said in an updated statement on Friday. “We apologize to our customers.”

DRs Vixmom and Cillaliz, I will definitely post pictures of the kitchen, but not until the countertops are installed.  We'll be lucky if that happens by Christmas.

But, what's my hurry - this is actually the completion of a makeover that we started 15 years ago...

It'll be worth the wait.  Take your time and get it just the way you want it

So, last May when I turned on the AC for the first time, I counted the number of days until a week before Halloween and set the thermostat to turn off then. That is in about an hour. It was 96 here today.

It was 78 here today.  That's really warm for the end of October.

Then I came right home and intended to watch a motion picture, but waiting for me in an e-mail attachment was the Sandy packaging, so I've spent the last two hours proofing all the text, which is a LOT of text - mostly the included lyrics.  Then I gave all those changes and not it can go off to Sandy.  Doug did a beautiful job on it.  Stunning photos and even a couple with me that I don't hate too much.
