Well, you've read the notes, the notes were trashy, and now it is time for you to post until the trashy cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BRUMMAGEM!
-
Topic of the Day: I'm a pretty easy going guy, not too much really bothers me...for the most part. I can't think of any specific big bugaboos that really irk me.
-
good morning to all

Morning all.
That is all.

TOD:
As bk mentioned in the notes, people who litter. Especially including smokers.
People who drive unsafely and/or holding a cellphone to one ear.
People who talk loudly on a cellphone in a public place.
BUT.... I do not like to dwell on negativity.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Barbara Cook!!! :)

-
Good morning, all.
I believe it is Saturday.
-
And Saturday means I won't be around because I must go a ways out of town and attend a friend-of-a-friend's memorial service.
-
TOD:
Everything everybody else says will be fine with me.
The task of filling up the blanks I'd rather leave to you.
But it really doesn't matter whom you put upon the list,
For they'd none of 'em be missed — they'd none of 'em be missed.

Good morning, all! I need to make a trip to the post office, then return here and continue cleaning up the huge mess I have created in the past week in the name of house cleaning.
After three months of silence - following several weeks of being difficult and cantankerous - the Man from Philadelphia has reappeared. Joy.

Today I am going to spend the day at my niece's swim meet. In the summer the meets are all races (whoever wins gets first place). In the winter everybody is racing for the best time. So you have no idea how you do until they post the results. Although this year my niece just turned 9 (one month ago). And she will be swimming against 10 year olds (and almost 11 year olds). Just on her swim team (which is very competitive) there are probably 10 girls who will beat her (maybe even 15). Hopefully she can at least do well against her own previous times.
-
Good morning.
-
Every time I go to one of the lakes in northern AZ, I fill a big trash bag with trash. Lots of fishing line.
-
Saturday morning greetings! Weird night here - I think Mary Linda's the only one who wasn't up for some part of it. Richard had some stomach distress that I blame on the anesthetic and Paramedic Rob came in handy. I'm the only one up so far, waiting on the new dishwasher.
-
Good morning, all.
Happy birthday, Barbara Cook.

Off to edit. Book signing later today. More craziness.

Sounds like a welcome craziness. Have a great book signing!

Good morning, all.
I believe it is Saturday.
Good Morning. I believe it, too.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY also to Maury Yeston!

Off to a rehearsal.

But first...
This is kind of fun. Play along with Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture:

New dishwasher is being installed!

I apparently live exactly the distance from the mcdonalds that it takes to eat a meal because I constantly have mcdonalds bags with the. Empty wrappings left on my lawn thrown from cars by persons very concerned with the cleanliness of their cars

DR DRUXY did you see what DR VIXMOM posted last night about the White House alert?
-
Page Two No Picture Dance.

I ate litterbugs as well.....particularly in movie theaters and legit theaters. WHY do people think it's okay to leave their cups and boxes and bottles and everything else on the floor when they leave? They walk right past a trash can?
It's thoughtless and selfish....
-
I missed all 71 notes on the 1812 Overture because I thought you hit it with your mouse....you use LETTERS.....I'm going to try it again.
-
That was better......but I still missed 24 cymbal crashes.
Kind of like this:

And the word of the day is: BRUMMAGEM!
And The Song Of The Day Is: RAZZLE DAZZLE
-
TOD - more litterbugs, the ones who completely trash the area around their seats on airplanes. Eight or nine hour trans-Atlantic flights are the worst I've ever seen :P
-
You can't do that - where would I get my cymbal and cannon lessons?
-
No one else is leaving. I has spoken. Druxy, please stop with the paranoia and the politics. Thank you. Just take all that stuff directly to Facebook, where it will be most appreciated.
-
I am thinking about food.
-
Oh, and I'm up - nine hours of sleep.
-
I am thinking about food. Is that rude? I'm not thinking about it in the nude because I'm not in the mood. I'm not going to brood or have attitude, I won't be crude or sing songs from Drood but my hunger has accrued and I must have some food.
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
I've had a shower, decked myself in Michigan gear (Go, Blue - beat Michigan State), and loaded and started the new dishwasher. It's very quiet.
-
I am thinking about food. Is that rude?

Moving right along.
-
Had sausage and eggs and toast for my meal o' the day.
-
No packages to retrieve so I'm in for the rest of the day and relaxing.
-
I have finally figured out how to use my new (Goodwill) wireless router so that I now have (Wired) internet on both computers in my house.....and a wireless signal for my tablet.....AND my "new" IPhone 5C arrived today, so that is all set up.
I am officially in the 21st century.....only 14 years late.

Have a great signing, John!

I am here.

I am there.

I am everywhere.

I gotta tell you.

Trying to decide on a motion picture. Perhaps The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.

Tonight will be the last Saturday evening performance of "The Complete Works...." Tomorrow, we close and strike the very minimal set, then party!
-
And with that, let us move along.
-
I ate litterbugs as well.....particularly in movie theaters and legit theaters. WHY do people think it's okay to leave their cups and boxes and bottles and everything else on the floor when they leave? They walk right past a trash can?
It's thoughtless and selfish....
Exactly! >:( WTF??
-
And now, I need to take a shower, get dressed, eat, get some programs printed and go to the show.
-
Tomorrow, we have our one and only matinee, then it's all over!
-
Have a good rest of the day, all!
Until later!
-
Every time I go to one of the lakes in northern AZ, I fill a big trash bag with trash. Lots of fishing line.
The litter left behind is not only annoying but very sad to see.
-
It has been kindly pointed out to me that I can remain on the board without having to see anything that I do not wish to see, so that is exactly what I shall do.
Eggsactlee. And that's a good thing.
-
Started some Netflix movie that looked like it might be interesting - after five minutes I realized that looks can be deceiving.

It must have been bad if you got Rob up to help. I hope Richard is feeling better by now.

I apparently live exactly the distance from the mcdonalds that it takes to eat a meal because I constantly have mcdonalds bags with the. Empty wrappings left on my lawn thrown from cars by persons very concerned with the cleanliness of their cars
That would drive me up a wall.

From DR TCB:
Some people on Facebook are saying we should ban all news coverage of school shootings.
I think the news should stop talking about the shooters and showing their photos. Just say shooter and talk about the people that were killed or injured.
-
DR TCB we are watching THE FLASH.
-
DR Cilla heart problems can cause depression or make it worse.

Well, Rob was still up because he has his days and nights reversed from working 3 third shifts in a row. He had things under control by the time I was aware of any commotion.
Richard is feeling better and I'm fixing tuna glop, peas, and corn muffins for him for dinner.
-
DR Vixmom thanks for explaining the "alert" on the news yesterday. Hopefully we will never need this for real.
-
DR Cilla I enjoyed the beautiful autumn photos.
-
I expected to enjoy "About Time" last night. I didn't expect to find it completely delightful and wonderful. I highly recommend it.

This news story is perfect for our TOD.

I hope they catch this arrogant woman and throw the book at her.
-
Hello, everyone.
Continued vibes to DS Richard.
-
Condolences to DR Cilla.

One of my pet peeves is when you let someone go ahead of you and they don't say thank you. It is bad enough when they don't way a thank you from a car but when you hold the door open and they just breeze on past you. Same think in a market when you stop your cart and let the person have room to pass. I've been known to shout "your welcome" which embarrasses the heck out of Keith.
-
TOD:
The apartments in the building next to mine all have balconies. It's a three-story building, so that's three balconies that face my side of my building. When the residents of said apartments clean they sweep and toss all manner of stuff onto the small grassy area between the two buildings. My neighbor downstairs keeps a little container garden in what would otherwise be wasted space and thus comes into contact with the neighboring building's trash. WHAT is there and HOW MUCH is there is a frequent topic of conversation among residents of my building. We are usually aghast.

Jane, this bugs me, too. There was a time when drivers generally did thank others, but now it's far less common. As for holding doors, I find it rude to let a door close in someone's face. To me, it's not a gender issue--it's just common courtesy. Most men, in my experience, do thank me when I hold a door. I'm sorry to say that most young women do not. They seem to expect others to do that for them.
-
When I was growing up I'd often see "Don't be a litterbug" signs and other emphasis on taking your trash with you. I don't see much of that now. Several cities I've lived in do make more of an effort now to have a sufficient number of trash cans around to accommodate those who wish to keep things clean. That helps.
-
DR Cilla I enjoyed the beautiful autumn photos.
I did, too. The one of the golden tree in front of the white house looks like our neighborhood.

About half the people at the Y hold the door or say thank you, the other half don't. Keith has held the door while people continue on through without once saying thank you or offer to hold it. I'm not sure age is a factor though I do believe on the hole older people are more polite. We have seen very polite children there as well. I especially enjoy seeing children hold the door and I blame their parent's for not teaching them manners.
-
Interesting there is a grey bar under my last post.
-
Michigan State 35, Michigan 11 :P
-
I had a great swim at the Y today. While swimming I also do exercises and stretches at each end of the pool. Today, for the first time in several days, I was able to turn my head to my left. It was nice while it lasted. I'm beginning to lose some of my mobility.
-
As I mentioned yesterday, it has been extremely windy here. We were relieved one of the regulars at the Y did not ride his bike today. He would have been blown over.
-
We lost power during the night. I figured out the power was out when I found myself in the bathroom without a night light and the light switch didn't work. Fortunately there was a spare flashlight on the counter. I really should have taken the one next to my bed but I could see until I got to the bathroom.

Hello! Earlier I watched Julie, a movie starring Doris Day. I think I saw it about 40 years ago and didn't remember that much about it, except of course for the ending, which has been lampooned over the years. I enjoyed it!
-
I also saw "Honeymoon in Vegas," which I had recorded a while ago in anticipation of the new musical version coming to Broadway. I thought it was pretty ridiculous, but who knows, maybe the musical will be better!
-
I really love Doc Martin! What a great show!
-
We have watched it 2 or 3 times now.
-
DC weather report: Beautiful weather today and the next few days. High 60's mostly and no rain.
-
Honeymoon in Vegas was one of those fluke cult hits that doesn't wear well over time.
-
Send excellent vibes and xylophones - really cannot get whatever it is that's hovering - need to be well and in good shape.
-
Feel better, BK!
-
BK, do you ever get flu shots?
-
DR Kevin thank you for the weather report?
-
FEEL BETTER VIBES FOR BRUCE!
-
I got one about three years ago - I still got the flu, though. They make me nervous, but maybe I'll get one soon.
-
Try to get one when you aren't sick.
-
Getting a flu shot doesn't mean you won't get a different strain of the flu, which is why we opted for the quad Cilla mentioned. If you immediately got the flu it might have been a reaction to the shot.
-
I get a flu shot every year, and I never seem to get sick.
-
Well, the hope is I'm not sick - I just feel a bit logy and I was around someone early in the week who had it, but who knows what the person actually had - may not have been the flu. I think if I can make it through the weekend I'll be fine.
-
It doesn't sound like you have the flu. I go early for my shot before my allergies get bad & I never know if I'm coming down with a cold or not.
-
DR Cilla I enjoyed the beautiful autumn photos.
I did, too. The one of the golden tree in front of the white house looks like our neighborhood.
It's not too far from where I live. There are a number of trees like that around here. That one was particularly nice
-
Non-catching vibes for MR BK.
-
Watching a very good motion picture - I've seen it once before but really only remember fleeting things about it.
-
~ ~ ~ CONTINUED GOLDEN THROAT VIBES ~ ~ ~ for bk!!!
-
Just back from a charity cabaret event. The talent varied wildly, but it was fun!
-
Are there really documented cases of people getting the flu from getting the flu shot? I've just never believed that.
I get the shot every year, and have never gotten the flu, thank goodness!
-
"Don't get sick" vibes for BK!!!
-
One to get ready,
-
Two for the show,
-
Wait, I think I messed that up.
Three is to get ready.
I forget what one is.
-
And four to go!
-
And now FIVE!
-
Page five? Really?
-
We're a long way from Tipperary, wherever the HELL that is.
-
How will we EVER get to page nine?
-
We're barely on page five.
-
I do believe we'd better get us a frenzy or five.
-
Perhaps I'll take a hot shower, just for the halibut.
-
Oh dear, this will not have a happy conclusion.
-
This is not good, this is a revoltin' development and we'd best have no more of this errant and trust bushwa.
