Well, you've read the notes, the notes were so November, and now it is time for you to post until the November cows come home.

And the word of the day is: CRYPTESTHESIA!
-
We are having a most rare occurrence right now - something called rain. Or sort of rain. It began right about nine, stopped about fifteen minutes later but is now coming down again. Let it continue for a while.
-
good morning to all

It would have to be Genghis Cohen in Los Angeles with the BK, some of the cast of The Brain From Planet X, some Hainers and my friend who I went to see the show with.
-
Good morning, all! I have a leisurely day set. Very little on the schedule makes me quite happy. I have a bootleg of this current GOLDEN APPLE playing in Texas to listen to and some puttering about.
-
Unlike previous years, very few trick or treaters came to our block last night. W bought 3 bags of Halloween candy; only managed to get rid of half a bag.
Oh, well! More for me.
:D

TOD:
When I was traveling back in the 1980s with Steve Kanaly (Dallas), doing car shows and other personal appearances, I had a couple of memorable meals.
In Lafayette, LA, I had a fantastic Cajun meal.
In Halifax, Nova Scotia, I ate the best fish I've ever tasted in my life.

I agree with Mike about Genghis Cohen. I love the green beans.

Congrats to DR RLP & Co. on the victory!
-
We had many pirates last night, a few Frozen Elsas, assorted animals, but the best was a Bert and Mary from Mary Poppins.....most excellent.
-
I think we went out Trick or Treating from about 6:15pm till 7:45pm. I don't think most people stay out past 8pm. I love how some people get so into the holiday that they put on a whole production. I love it. Many kids are terrified. Luckily my niece's swim team buddy lives across the street. She came over early so we all went out together. But her brother wanted to go early. So she stayed with us. And boy was she freaked out. There was a man walking around with a black costume, face covered and red eyes that flashed. This girl would not go back down the street cause she was so freaked out by him.
Another lady we know was lying on the ground in a bloody wedding gown. And she would rise and spook you when you came. Her whole yard was set up. It was really nice. Another kid was wearing a head to toe skeleton costume and standing in the dark beside her driveway. Luckily she screamed out at me and not the kids as they would not have liked it.
The only bad part is that since it is cold you have to wear your jacket under your costume. But I actually found the weather fine. It was low 40s. But I had my winter coat on and I was not cold at all. It was not windy or rainy which happens a lot.
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
I am in the middle of setting up Rose's new computer. I downloaded 50 updates and they are now installing. I'm at 30 so I have a way to go.
-
I stayed home and passed out candy last night. Although I'm about a block away from the good part of the neighborhood (with a concentration of houses with a bunch of little kids and families who go all out decorating for Halloween). I still had quite a few trick-or-treaters. All in all, it was an extraordinarily polite group of kids and adults. How refreshing!
-
Good morning, all. I am off to a Brahms Requiem rehearsal.
-
Good morning, all.

TOD:
So many choices. I'll pick one from when I was living in Florida. A friend was writing an article about key lime pie and he wanted to go to the original Joe's in South Beach, clear across the state, in order to try theirs. So, we drove over (more than three hours) and showed up around opening time. There's usually a wait of more than an hour and, sure enough, there were plenty of folks waiting. But the staff knew we were coming and whisked us in and sat us down at a table out of sight of the early birds. The room filled up about 20 minutes later with people, all of whom seemed to be having as good a time as we were. The restaurant loaded us up with the largest and best stone crab claws I've ever had in my life, plus their coleslaw made with a secret recipe and finally the most vibrant key lime pie I'll ever eat. Then it was a most happy three-hour ride back to reality.

Elmore, let me know what you think of that Golden Apple. I wish I had had time for the trip up to Dallas this weekend to see it.
-
My new phone case arrived, but didn't include instructions or the tool I need to open it to put my phone inside.....
-
Good late morning, all.
Boy, did I need that sleep. Truly. A wonderful thing, sleep.
-
I stayed home and passed out candy last night.
I first read that as "I stayed home and passed out last night."
-
That meal at Joe's sounds divine, DR John G. I've never been there myself, but that will be rectified someday.
-
Our RAGTIME opens tonight, too. I shall wish all of us broken legs for the occasion.
-
I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep, I think.
-
Broken legs vibes for ChasSmith, Tateh, Mother, Sarah, Younger Brother and the rest of Ragtime folks.
-
Elmore, let me know what you think of that Golden Apple. I wish I had had time for the trip up to Dallas this weekend to see it.
It's a good college performance.

Back from a cheese omelet and some banking. Rehearsal in thirty minutes. I am feeling so weird these days - maybe it's the Omoxcallin or maybe I'm still fighting something, but really enough is enough. Send those excellent vibes and xylophones - I have no time for this nonsense.

Saturday afternoon greetings! Before lunch I'd been to the AAUW book sale site to deliver 8 more boxes, the AAUW holiday bazaar site to deliver a few items from Mom, to Mom's to deliver some groceries, to our favorite butcher shop to order our Thanksgiving turkey, and back to the bazaar site to pick up the reusable grocery I'd accidentally left there. Whew!

Feel better vibes for BK! I blame the meds.

Oh, look, I found page 2!

Excellent, DR Ginny! Where was it?

Good afternoon!

Excellent, DR Ginny! Where was it?
Must have been under all those boxes of books!

RAGTIME opening night vibes for DR CHAS SMITH.....and RAGTIME viewing vibes for MR BK.

Show vibes to ChasSmith's production of RAGTIME and Ryacko's production of RAGTIME as well.

Hello! Sorry to have missed Halloween. I'm inputting data into my new practice management software for the office. I worked on that about 5 hours yesterday so I wasn't much in the mood to be on the computer after that. I'm about 1/2 done putting in the data I'll need to get started with my current cases. I really think I'm going to like it once I get it all done right.
-
Today I went up on the garage roof to clean out the eaves I can reach from there. (It's a flat roof and easy to get on) I discovered that some of the slate tiles are separating from each other and it looks like water can get in there. I called the best roofing company I know around here and left a message to call me Monday. Hope they can do it.
-
Callie is doing ok. But the litter boxes have been quite empty. I decided that holding back the dry food manes sense, but it's what they all like to eat and none of them are eating the wet stuff. SO, for today I'm going to act like everything is fine. I'll give her meds and we'll see what happens.
-
one of my colleagues has been suffering form a bad cold old week we begged her to go home and rest but noooooooo she must come in and sneeze and snuffle and touch everything in the office with her germy hands
So guess what i woke up with today?
-
Break a leg vibes for Chas' Ragtime and RYacko's Ragtime

From DR Jennifer:
Is that the movie Chef? My library just got it.
Yes, the movie. It is difficult not to think of DR John during many of the scenes.

The poor frightened kid, but it sounds like a fun neighborhood to be in.

It is possible that eating cheese while on the Amoxicillin (I'm guessing this is what you meant) is not agreeing with you. Antibiotics always make me feel yucky.

Feel better vibes for DR Vixmom!

I have a question for anyone who streams Netflix to their tv. What do you use so you can stream? We have not been successful streaming & have been told by experts it doesn't work here, yet our neighbor said she streams just fine.
-
Get-better-soon vibes for vixmom.

RAGTIME vibes for DRs ChasSmith and ryacko!

Get-better-soon vibes for vixmom.
Ditto - we have some mischief to get into in a couple of weeks!

DR Jane, Rob and Mary Linda use a ROKU to stream Netflix and lots of other stuff to their TV.

Do you have a Roku or a BluRay player or a TV with Apps? That's the only way I know to stream
-
You also have to have a good enough signal from your internet
-
I would think if you can stream to a computer you could stream to a tv
-
DR Jane, Rob and Mary Linda use a ROKU to stream Netflix and lots of other stuff to their TV.
Thanks. Do you know if everything is available to stream from Netflix or if there is a queue as with the DVDs?
-
Good grief, page 3? You'd think it was the Day of the Dead or something
-
We have a BluRay and we think it won't stream fast enough or smoothly enough.
How easy is it to stream the shows you want from Netflix?
-
Has anyone read "The Woman Who Heard Color"
-
We have a BluRay and we think it won't stream fast enough or smoothly enough.
How easy is it to stream the shows you want from Netflix?
Very easy. Have you tried to stream or are you just thinking it won't stream fast enoug
-
So guess what i woke up with today?
A strange man?
-
Streaming to our computer doesn't work. Our neighbor agrees with this fact. We do not have a good connection to our tv from the computer through our wifi as the distance is far from the wifi signal. We tested a youtube on the tv and it was terrible.
I told Keith I didn't think the Netflix options through streaming would be much better than DVDs, just that we would skip the mailing period of 2 days. If I'm correct than hassling to get the streaming to work, especially with the odds against us, I'm wondering if the effort is worth it.
-

I mean availability. To you ever have to wait for anything to become available?

um no, it's always available on streaming. At least I've never heard of a wait.
-
Thanks, it might be worth the effort then. When we go to our neighbor's to see her new puppy we will find out the distance from her computer to her tv. We suspect they are close to each other & what her set up is. Craig's room was close to the computer and he gave up streaming here.
-
No Trick or Treaters last evening. Not a single knock on the door.
-
I'm just full of questions tonight.
DR Jennifer, was OMENS a quick read like her other books? I just got it in from my library and prefer to read it before another book that must be read in time for my book group discussion on the 11th.
-
Our RAGTIME opens tonight, too. I shall wish all of us broken legs for the occasion.
Broken leg vibes for Chas and company!
-
I was remiss, sorry DR Chas....Good show vibes!
-
So guess what i woke up with today?
A strange man?
that's no way to speak about Vixdad

ah that's what my body is celebrating that explains everything

T.O.D.
I don't think I have had a great many memorable meals. Years ago, when SAS Airlines flew the top travel agents from the West Coast for a weekend in Copenhagen; they took us out into the Danish countyside to a 13th century castle where we spent the first night. For dinner, we were served Babette's Feast just as it was prepared in the book and the film. I think it was memorable just because of the whole atmosphere of the dining hall, lit by candles and torches; as much as it was for the meal.......... and the wine!

I give NickyMiralax, one third of a teaspoon mixed in his food once a week. It seems to do the trick to keep him regular, but to also keep him from getthing poop stuck in his butt. My vet told me to use it.

As Jane implied, they both tend to block you up. I hope you are drinking lots and lots of water with the Amoxicillin.

LOL I wasn't exactly implying that, just that the combination can make you feel bad in many ways.

I just turned back all the clocks except the ones in the bedroom. I'm going to miss my satellite clock that changed automatically during the night.
-
Oh dear!
-
This doesn't look good.
-
We need Cilla and Vixmom's flying fingers.
-
My back is very bad tonight, so I won't be able to stay online too long.
-
I will do what I can.
-
The other special meal I was going to mention was the last time my mom made me her tamale pie. I couldn't tell you the date, or even the year; but every time she made it for me, with such love, made it a very special meal.
-
sorry I keep dozing off I feel absolutely miserable and I want to smack my coworker into next week

The temperature dropped into the low 40's last night, so I imagine our first freeze isn't far away.

I can get us to page five.

I have been lucky enough to have been invited to dinners cooked by Skip his fried chicken is the best I have ever tasted , and his deviled eggs are addictive then there's the flank steak and the cheesy grits....... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Sometimes doing this alone can be good therapy.

Hi, John!
-
What time do you have to be at church?
the service starts at 9 but I usually get there at 8 to set up coffeehour I think I may stay home tomorrow

I know nothing of Little Dancer. I will have to read up on it.

Really?? You must feel very badly.

Still, the bitch-slapping of the errant colleague is very much warranted, in my opinion.
-
I hope Chas' Ragtime went well
-
Then went for some Persian food.

Which errant colleague are we discussing?

Six!!

Re-reading Seth Rudestky's columns from 2007. Some wonderful stories, including:
Carol Channing, backstage at Rent, to the cast: "I couldn't understand a word any of you said, but so much ENERGY!"
At Aida, the day the set broke: "Is there a doctor in the house?" A man came up onto the stage from the audience: "I'm a dermatologist!"
-
Which errant colleague are we discussing?
The one that gave DR vixmom her cold.

Good evening.
Back! From a very nice opening night. At least in the pit, but I think it was good upstairs, too. A few little opening night flubs, nothing that won't be fixed tomorrow.
Thank you all for the broken-leg vibes. They worked.

I am home from Ragtime. Well, act ONE of Ragtime, which began fifteen minutes late and which ran one hour and forty-five minutes. That was it for me, even had it been the best production of all time, which it was not. I did get to see our very own RYacko in many of his roles and they were lucky to have him. The original production was pretty great, and even helped hide what I felt were a few weaknesses in the show itself. But then, you had Brian "Stokes" Mitchell, Marcia Mitzman-Gavin, La Chanze, John Rubinstein, Jason Graae, Judy Kaye and the rest of the amazing LA company and you had Graciella Danielle's amazing work as well as the brilliantly paced direction of Frank Galati. This was about what you'd expect for having to get a show like this up in three weeks. Pacing wasn't what it needed to be (the first act really should not have run that long), and there was just a lack of clear focus for me - my opinion. The audience was mostly eating up with whooping and hollering as is the wont of today's theatergoers. Very easy to tell the pros from the non-pros. Some odd either actor or directorial choices, most especially having mother in her very first line clearly deliver that line in a way that gives her journey away at the start. Minor stuff like that. But it's forty-six people, a band of twenty, and they should be commended for even having this on its feet. The other very real problem is that once you've seen Coalhouse played by Mr. Mitchell, no one else really has a chance.

Our stumble-through was mostly great, but with way too many lyric flubs for my taste. It began in the very first song and then everyone pretty much caught it, except for two folks who got through their stuff unscathed. But, everyone knows what they have to do by tomorrow's sound check and we can drill stuff then. But this cast is truly extraordinary and the show just moves like gangbusters and the structure really works.
