Well, you've read the notes, the notes had magic to do, and now it is time for you to post until the Pippin cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: KICKSHAW!
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
good morning to all
-
thanks for the review of Pippin.
It's coming to my area and I believe Lucie Arnaz will be playing the role that Miss Martin is doing.
They also just announced that the Broadway production will be closing Jan 4 along with a bunch of other shows
-
As I write this I have no idea of the election results. I went to bed before it was over.
-
Health vibes to DR Mike!
-
Thanks for the further thoughts on DD Dylan from yesterday's posts, which I just caught up on.
-
Good Morning.
I'm not thrilled with out local election results. I need to check the Propositions, though.
-
the Propositions
That oughtta be the name of a band...

Good mrning, all! I slept an hour longer than I had intended, but I'm not complaining.
I'm ready for coffee. Today's a work-at-home day, so I can deliver scores to Joshie tomorrow after therapy. I'd like to grab a couple of hours on break to get my vocal score and listen to "The World Goes Round."
I'm happy you liked "Pippin," BK! I would like to see it. I loved the original production; saw it twice. First time was Labor Day weekend, 1973. second time was March 1974. Irene Ryan had already died, so I saw Lucie Lancaster the first time and Dorothy Stickney the second. By 1974 Betty Buckley had replaced Clayburgh, and Lenora Nemetz, I think, had replaced Leland Palmer. My only real memory of the production is that huge green drop falling on the line "we all could use a change of scene." It was quite vivid.

Thanks DR SINGDAW, but do you have any photos of you both in your costumes?
-
Thanks to MR BK for the PIPPIN report and information.
It is being produced at a local high school next week, and I plan to attend. I hope it is as much fun as it was when I choreographed it in PCPH a few years ago.....or ten.....
-
Change of plans for the weekend. We were going out to Long Island to deliver the new computer but Anthony's mother decided she can wait until Thanksgiving for her new toy. There is an OLD (but working) desktop computer (with XP) in the basement. It's very slow and probably 10 years old but it works and she's content so we will wait.
So this weekend instead of riding on a train I will defrost the freezer.
-
I enjoyed reading about Pippin in the notes.
-
It's nice when plans change and they work out so well DR BEN.
-
Wednesday morning greetings! I get to stay home all day today to make another batch of caramel corn and cook one of Richard's favorite dinners - chicken and rice. It's cold and gloomy here in SW Ohio, making it obvious that winter will be here before we know it.
-
BK, thanks for your comments about PIPPIN. I saw it in New York in the summer of 1974 with pretty much the cast DR Elmore described. Richard and I thoroughly enjoyed the revival in New York a year ago. I wonder if the tour is coming to Cincinnati?
-
Nope, no Cincinnati on the PIPPIN tour schedule - yet.
-
Question for BK: When do you arrive in New York?
-
Good morning, all. A bit late.
Coffee!
-
On my first trip to New York, I got tickets for PIPPIN, but when I arrived at the theater, it was posted that Ben Vereen was not doing that performance, so I got a refund.
That was probably a mistake, but I later saw the video of the original cast production. In fact, I think I still have the DVD.
I also caught a production with a 2nd-string cast in the Los Angeles area about 15 years ago.
-
Ask BK Day:
Bruce, how far out in advance do you decide the theme of each Kritzerland show (in California)? In other words, for how many future Kritzerland shows do you already know what the theme will be?
-
Good Morning All:
TOD;
BK, What TV show, currently on now do you like best?
-
Goodbye for now!!! :-* :-* :-*
-
Ask BK Day:

I'm never that ahead, although the past six months I was. I know what the January and February shows are.
-
I arrive in NY on Thursday afternoon.
-
I'm up. Not much sleep.
-
I arrive in NY on Thursday afternoon.
So do we!
-
And I arrive back here that night -- from a quick visit to Cincinnati!
-
Good morning. I hiked several hours yesterday after some very busy kitchen days at the church. It was good to walk. Last night was more kitchen/hostess duty until late at night.
Today I am home catching up on things that have been left undone here. Then a funeral in the early afternoon. We usually do a meal for the family after funerals, but I guess we are not for this one. I guess other than one son-in-law, there is no family.
-
We are supposed to get snow tonight.

For DR George, who missed out because he mailed his ballot this year:

-
DR RLP did you get that invoice paid?
-
DR LAURA did you say I told you so yet?
-
A bit of sunshine here to day DR GINNY....but rain and cold predicted - so enjoy tomorrow.
-
I forgot to say how happy I was with the elimination of the team on The Amazing Race last Friday night.
They didn't work well together....and they were very spiteful in using a U-turn (the ONLY team to use it) against another team for an imagined slight.....sometimes Karma shows up in a very short time....and it is fun to see.
-

Gotcha, DR JRand!
-
DR LAURA did you say I told you so yet?
It is still confidential information. So not yet.
-
I took a break to deal with Fed Ex; why the fat hell can they not get their act together on billing and credit card usage? If I had hair, i'd have pulled it out by now.
-
The caramel corn I made Monday tastes fine, but I used some Amish popcorn left over from last year. It didn't pop up nice and fluffy, so yesterday I bought a new jar of Orville Redenbaker, which is making into much prettier caramel corn today.
The squirrels will enjoy the rest of the old popping corn...
-
Good afternoon, all.
It's still raining after more than 12 hours. More than 4 inches. Plants are happy.
-
Enjoyed the notes on Pippin. It was the show that people my age listened to, if they listened to a cast album at all. I liked it, but I loved A Little Night Music.
Saw a bootleg of this version. Andrea Martin stole the show. And while Patina Miller certainly gave the Player her all, she wasn't as edgy or as volatile as Ben Vereen seemed. There was more of a sitcom darkness than masked evil to her.
-
When I went to NYC for the first time the three shows I saw (and I don't remember the order) Pippin (Michael Rupert was Pippin), Chicago (Original Cast except Chita Rivera) & The Magic Show.
-
Good Morning.
I'm not thrilled with out local election results. I need to check the Propositions, though.
One good thing (in my opinion) happened in Washington...THIS (http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2014/11/the-gun-control-movement-is-learning-how-to-win/382407/) article has some good information about Initiative 594 (it passed by almost 60%!), which is "a measure extending background checks to all weapons sales and transfers, with exceptions only for transfers between family members and temporary loans for sporting or self-defense purposes." In other words, the gun show loophole has been closed. :)
-
DR RLP did you get that invoice paid?
Yes, finally! One number was off...on their side. Once I did screen caps of the error message about the account info, they were rather quick to correct the error.
-
*Laughs at Singdaw for no specific reason whatsoever*
I laugh in your general direction, Sir.
HA!
-
From DR Vixmom:
I f don't know..... I was quoting you LOL
;D Then it is driving but maybe I was drinking while typing.
-
"Nice" Halloween pic DR Singdaw.

Regarding the 15 "Nope" Places People Will Actually Risk Their Lives To Travel To.....
I agree NOPE! I'm surprised Bungee jumping in Auckland is on there. I'm sure there are scarier places to jump that there. We watched people do it from the top and then we watched them land. They looked a bit wobbly and pale, at least the ones we saw, at the bottom ;D
-
I arrive in NY on Thursday afternoon.
So do we!
SAFE AND EASY TRAVEL VIBES!!!!
-
They looked a bit wobbly and pale
Yeah, but you should see the OTHER guy!
-
;D
-
So then I bit him...
-
GET ME OFF THIS DARNED PAGE!!

Relief, at last

I won't dance.
Don't ask me.

Haven't stopped yet, save for some lunch (chicken salad sandwich and no fries or onion rings) and picking up no packages. I've sent out a second e-mail blast about the NY shows, chosen the last song, and am now trying to replace Jason Graae, who got a gig that's paying huge money. So, I have e-mails into several great people and hopefully one of them will come through.
-
I then spent hours revising the two commentaries, because I've switched up songs in both shows and also had to particularize the shows for NY.
-
We've also been sending out press announcements and I've been talking to all manner of folks about spreading the word.
-
So, while I was getting ready to leave the church after the funeral (checking thermostats, turning off lights, etc.), I saw two gentlemen in the lobby who were looking through some of the literature. I chatted a few minutes before asking them if they had been at the funeral. They said no, they just happened by and wanted to find out if our pastor would be able/willing to perform their marriage ceremony. I had to tell them that our denomination did not yet allow it, which made me very sad. I will be glad when the denomination catches up with the rest of the world. I hope they will visit us sometime, as they live very close by in the neighborhood.
-
You were very nice DR LAURA.
-
Good evening from the Warner, where I'm going to watch a piano brush-up (but full dress) rehearsal along with an invited audience -- just in case I don't get another chance to see this via an archival educational etc. ...

Better to hear it from someone who sympathizes than from someone who agrees with the policy.
-
I just made some delicious wild rice. Next time I need to reduce the Better Than Bouillon I added to the boiling water before pouring the rice in.
-
Liz Larsen, who was one of my regular artists on Varese Sarabande, and who is currently co-starring in Beautiful on Broadway will be replacing Jason Graae, so that problem is solved.
-
I made a mess in the kitchen which I need to clean.
-
I took a break to deal with Fed Ex; why the fat hell can they not get their act together on billing and credit card usage? If I had hair, i'd have pulled it out by now.
So God spared you the effort!

Yes, thank God!

Yes, you were.
-
It's still raining like crazy here. I think we've had more than six inches in 24 hours.
-
Went out for dance rehearsal tonight and the driving was ridiculously bad.
-
But the tango steps are coming easier. The foxtrot is a little problematic. The rumba is getting better. The East Coast swing is fine.
-
Watching episodes of "Tabitha" now. Still haven't gotten to disc 2, which has the pilot. But I am enjoying Karen Morrow.
-
Underpants!

Nice!
-
Good to see you, George.
-
Can we move this along?
-
Four!
-
Off to work.
-
Page four? Really?
-
I am so done with this day and some extremely unnecessary drama from someone who should know better.
-
Hello all
-
Good to see you, George.
Thanks, John...it's good to be seen. :D
-
I did not get to see the original Pippin but I saw the newest production three times - the Vixter and I went during preview, loved it so much that a few week s later we went into the city at 6 AM and waited online for the $35 rush tickets and after that I went again on my own and waited for a rush ticket
-
And on that note (D#), it's time to leave work and go home. So, I'm going home.
Until later.
-
I was lucky enough to see Andrea Martin all three times, I saw a different Pippin each time n(original, understudy and summe replacement)
-
BK, I was familiar with the OBC recording and there were changes to some lyrics in War is a Science although I did not notic any others changes
-
I am not familiar with any other ending other than the Theo ending --- how did it used to end?
-
Will you need a spoiler alert I wonder?
-
where everybody?
-
DR Laura - I am sure that you were sensitive and compassionate. A hard job.
-
Ummm.... I'll have the carrot sticks, please...

I just wrote a story about a company that delivers warm cookies to people's doors. And you had to go and post that photo, SlapDash.
Me want.
-
I just wrote a story about a company that delivers warm cookies to people's doors.
I think they've got the wrong idea.
Unless my door and your door are included in the "other people's doors." :)
-
I, too, have been longing to sit down to listen to And the World Goes Round with the vocal score in hand. I've listened to the album, of course, but would like to do so with the score. I just haven't had a moment. I want to give Roberta another close listen, as well.
-
The snow is now supposed to start around 11:00PM. :P
-
Tomorrow we will be hearing the Vienna Boy's Choir.
-
Just back from the rehearsal for the Broadway Cabaret program. I've got about 10 zillion solos, and I'm singing in all the chorus numbers, as well. My voice is fried.
-
Enjoying these episodes of Tabitha with all these guest stars from the era, including Mary Wickes, Peter Palmer, Richard Libertini and Dack Rambo among many. I just wish the writing were better.
-
Here they are:

Alone again.

One more.
-
Six!
-
Well...........
G'night!
-
Page six? Really?
-
Watched two motion pictures, so that was a nice, relaxing evening after an endless but productive day. Now all we need to do is have decent-sized audiences for our four shows - please help if you can.
-
Listening to the soundtrack to one of the movies I watched - no CD release but I downloaded it from Amazon.
-
I'm tired, I think. I'm doing a radio show tomorrow for And the World Goes Round.
-
I just watched "Winter's Tale" on HBO. I re-read the book earlier this year. I read it in high school and didn't remember much of anything about it. The movie really doesn't have much to do with the book...just basic moments and characters' names.
-
I will (not surprisingly) say that Colin Farrell is nice to look at, but that's not enough to sustain the movie. What's funny is that it's the next movie that I'm getting from Netflix, and it's supposed to arrive tomorrow. I guess I'll be sending it back very quickly.
-
Why I oughta...
-
So I bit him.

These are just too cute not to share: These 19 Dogs Are Uniquely Adorable.... (http://www.wimp.com/dogbreeds/)
