Well, you've read the notes, the notes had both zip and zing, and now it is time for you to post until the zippy and zingy cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: RECUSANT!
-
I thought that I was going to be able to sleep in this morning, but my sister called earlier last evening and reminded me that I agreed to come over to her place and help her with some stuff to do...I forget what kind of stuff, but general stuff. I can only help her for a few hours because tonight I'm ushering for Honorary Consulate of Spain: Flamenco Casa Patas (http://wcpa.squarespace.com/upcoming-events/2014/11/23/honorary-consulate-of-spain-flamenco-casa-patas.html).
Flamenco(s) of Lead and Copper
Accompanied by talented cantaores and musicians, the explosive dances of Mariana Collado and Carlos Chamorro lead us into the mysterious world of flamenco -- with an allusion to metallurgy, in which primitive elements are extracted, refined and fused to new strengths and grandeur.
Mariana Collado, creator of this program, is a graduate of the Royal Professional Dance Conservatory of Spain and has performed widely with many eminent flamenco artists, including Cristina Hoyos and Antonia Gades, ranging from intimate tablaos in Spain to prestigious international festivals.
Carlos Chamorro’s acclaim both as dancer and choreographer led to his position of soloist and principal dancer of the Spanish National Ballet and recognition as “ambassador” of Spanish dance internationally, on stages from Moscow to New York. He has received major awards throughout his career, including Spain’s “Most Outstanding Dancer Prize – 2012”.
I'm looking forward to this.
-
And now, I must be off to bed.
Have a good day, all.
-
good early morning to me.
having those wacky dreams including family, friends and people I know playing different people in odd situations. I realize its a dream but let it run its course and then I wake up and don't remember anything.

Good morning, all.
Cough begone vibes for BK.

Good morning, all.
It is a free day for me. And that is a wonderful thing.
Whatever my dream was, it was one of the usual, but at this point I'm not remembering anything of it. It is, however, trying to break through, so there could be a revelation any minute. Stay tuned.
Coffee!

I have that SULLIVAN'S TRAVELS Criterion DVD, and am almost positive I've never watched it. Wait, could that be? Yes, I do think I've never seen it at all. So with a recommendation like that, what am I waiting for? I'll take it off the shelf when I go downstairs.

Good Morning, Kids!

Today, Sandy and I are going to the Ransom Center in Austin to view the GONE WITH THE WIND 75th Anniversary Exhibit.

Sitting on the side of the highway waiting to catch speeding drivers, a state police officer sees a car puttering along at 22 MPH. He thinks to himself, this driver is just as dangerous as a speeder!"
So he turns on his lights and pulls the driver over. Approaching the car, he notices that there are five old ladies -- two in the front seat and three in the back -- wide eyed and white as ghosts.
The driver, obviously confused, says to him, Officer, I don't understand, I was doing exactly the speed limit! What seems to be the problem?
"Ma'am," the officer replies, you weren't speeding, but you should know that driving slower than the speed limit can also be a danger to other drivers.
Slower than the speed limit? "No sir, I was doing the speed limit exactly... Twenty-two miles an hour!" the old woman says a bit proudly.
The State Police officer, trying to contain a chuckle explains to her that 22 was the route number, not the speed limit.
A bit embarrassed, the woman grinned and thanked the officer for pointing out her error.
"But before I let you go, Ma'am, I have to ask... Is everyone in this car OK?These women seem awfully shaken and they haven't muttered a single peep this whole time," the officer asks.
"Oh, they'll be all right in a minute officer. We just got off Route 119."

Tonight the Broadway revival production of Chicago becomes the 2nd longest running production after The Phantom of the Opera.
The original production was one of the first three shows I saw on Broadway when I first went to NYC. I always though it was better show A Chorus Line which swept the Tony Awards

Good morning, all!
I have some errands to run and then it's back to work. I have nothing to report at the moment.
DR John G, I too love "Hot In Cleveland." It reaches amazing heights of dementia when it's really good, especially when Susan Lucci and Wendy Malick are duking it out.
-
Sunday!!
Nice review by DR CHAS SMITH.
-
The new neighbor above me has moved in. I met her on Thursday in the lobby as she was moving in. She's a pleasant young lady employed by Tiffany. This is the first morning I've heard her moving about; there's quite a bit of thumping and bumping. I suspect she's got plenty of unpacking to accomplish.
-
Congrats to elmore on hitting 33000 yesterday!
-
Well damn, we never noticed that!
Thirty-three grand. A good number.
-
Congrats to DR ELMORE on his millstone and his new neighbor.....hopefully they will be two different things.
-
We haz slowed to a standstill.
-
Congrats to elmore on hitting 33000 yesterday!

I didn't notice, either. Congrats, Larry!

I remember reading on Playbill.com when CHICAGO surpassed A CHORUS LINE to became the fourth longest running Broadway musical (http://www.playbill.com/multimedia/gallery/chicago-celebrates-becoming-longest-running-american-musical-4777), it also became the longest running American musical (http://www.playbill.com/news/article/chicago-to-become-fourth-longest-running-broadway-show-and-longest-running--181932) on Broadway. PHANTOM, CATS and LES MIZ played longer, but they were British imports.

Will we never reach page 2?

33,000 huh? What do you know?
I finally managed to retrieve a lot of files from a LaCie hard drive that seemed to be stuck in limbo. So much for 2009-2010. This became a bigger task than I had intended, but i am happy it's over.
-
I'm up, I'm up. Was up at six for an hour, then fell asleep - all in all, about nine hours, I guess.
-
Very windy (part of why I woke up early) and still is.
-
I'm really not understanding this page one malarky.
-
At ALL.
-
I'm really not understanding this page two malarky.
-
At ALL.
-
It must be the global warming.
-
Or as we'll say this Thursday, the gobble warming.
-
I think it's sun spots.
-
So . . . what I discovered on that LaCie hard drive was that it was frozen n "In progress" and I could not access any of my past backups on that hard drive. So, I dragged the fles into the trash, where they all opened. I was then able to g through the backups and retrieve what files I wanted and then empty the trash. I'm sure I lost a lot, but I now have an empty back up drive and I located a lot of materials I thought were lost forever. Still no Piano vocal score Finale files for the newly edited "Babes In Toyland." Oh, well . . .

Computers occasionally have minds of their own.
-
Apparently page two has a mind of its own.
-
And apparently all dear readers are in tarnation.
-
Roasting there, for all eternity.
-
Good afternoon!
-
Well, two have left tarnation.

DRs John G and elmore: I don't know if you've heard but Hot in Cleveland has been cancelled.
-
I'm thinking about eating something light before The Federal so I can just have the artichoke there.
-
I must watch Sullivan's Travels.
-
They had a pasta I liked, but that seems to have been replaced by something I wouldn't like.

DRs John G and elmore: I don't know if you've heard but Hot in Cleveland has been cancelled.
Yes, and it saddens me.
-
I did not read the book or any reviews, but I just watched all four episodes of OLIVE KITTEREDGE.....which was quite an outstanding program.
It was just starting on one of the HBO channels, and I like Frances McDormand, so I just took a chance. It is NOT a feel good, sentimental piece.....but it is quite an interesting and well told story.
-
Sunday evening greetings! Today was a Lima Sunday, made extra special because our niece Rev. Amy came for the service and her husband and 3 kids arrived afterwards. We transferred some of Grandma Palmer's bookcases from my car to Amy's then all 7 of us went to Bob Evans for lunch. I got to sit between Nathan (10) and Tim (7) and across from Rachel (2). They are delightful children and we enjoyed spending time with them. I was the only one who spilled anything - my glass of water.
-
I went and had some chicken tenders. So, just an artichoke later and that will be that.
-
Page Two?
-
Page Two? Really?
-
Page Two? What the hell?
-
BK comes to NYC and there are a ton of pages so WTF?

Perhaps I can . . .

Did that do it?

Nope? Well, crap.

About time!

Page Three.

Tonight they are giving out the American Music Awards.....but nobody asked me who I wanted to win.....

There was an episode last night where Susan Lucci got to deliver a eulogy at Wendy Malick's fake funeral. It was priceless.

Bummer. I think this one series where the writing has gotten stronger with each succeeding year.

Had a few hours of dance practice today. New pair of Latin shoes, which have a 1-inch heel, and it has made some of the dancing quite interesting. I feel about 5 inches taller and also feel as if I'm falling all the time. This will take some work.
-
Are we already on Thanksgiving Holiday?
-
Latin heels are not to be confused with the cha-cha heels that Divine wanted for Christmas in the classic John Waters comedy "Female Trouble." In that movie, she didn't get what she wanted, so she threw the tree down on her parents and ran out of the house.

I did read the book and was moved to avoid the HBO film.... I am in the mood for fun, uplifting and escapist entertainment these days
-
Thank you, Vixmom and TCB, for joining in the posting. I have to leave again soon to do some writing.
-
Congratulations, Elmore.

Latin shoes? My last pair of dress shoes were made in Mexico. I still can't do the Hat Dance.

I made a dish called Green Chile Pie. And I made a mess. It tastes good, but it's all soupy and it shouldn't be.

I didn't realize you had a niece that was a minister! I am glad you had such a nice visit

Just got an email about the launch of the Herringbone album. Wish I could attend the party, but I'll be satisfied with the album when it arrives.
-
Let us get off of this stupid Page Three.

Can't do the hat dance, either. Or the Boot-Scooting Boogie.

The Seattle Seahawks kicked a** today against the Arizona Cardinals. Probably the best game they have played since they won the Super Bowl.
-
this morning we had church , I was assisting minister and the Vixter was a communion assistant. I had coffee hour volunteers for both services which freed me up for three meetings .
Then the Vixter and I collected my folks and joined the 50+ group from church for a trip to a local theatre college which put on a performance of Little Shop of Horrors. It was well cast, well sung, well acted, and funny as all get out
We had a grand time.
-
then I drove over to the new office to show the Vixter the locale and saw the office light son and my boss in the parking loot trying to wrestle a new refrigerator fir the office out of hos pickup and onto a dolly so we assisted him with getting the fridge into the office and the skedaddled home so the Vixter could go to her Sexton job at church
-
Oh and my gas light came on indicating the emptiness of mine gas tank... I was able to buy gasoline at $2.99 a gallon two months ago I was paying about a $1 a gallon more than that
-
I went out to the Claimjumper for Sunday Buffet. The food was good, but something I ate was laced with MSG. I came home and fell asleep for an hour. I woke up half way thru the second quarter of the game. I still feel woozy.
-
That, and Vixmom, are my excuses for spelling errors tonight.
-
I must go and lie (or is it lay) down.
-
I will return soon.
-
Hi John! High Vixmom!
-
Hi Page Four!
-
Good going, TCB.
-
It was laundry day in Northern Virginia.
-
That's strange what MSG does to you, TCB. I just feel slightly dizzy after eating it.
-
I have to work on Black Friday. I think that's a good thing.
-
I spoke with DR Kate. Unfortunately, she and her husband and dog had to leave the house. The fire marshall came and said something about needing another way to exit in case something happened. It looks like they'll have to replace the roof. They're staying with her husband's sister.
-
I must go and lie (or is it lay) down.
if you were British you would go have a liedown, does that help?
-
Thanks for the update, KevinH. Sorry to hear about Kate's problems, but glad she and her husband and dog are safe. Prayers for their continued safety and for the house.
-
Hi John! High Vixmom!
"High Vixmom"? Is that a greeting or a supposition?
-
Anybody have a good oyster stew recipe?
-

I am so sorry to hear this I hope that insurance will cover their losses

Sorry, no, I am not a fan of bivalve molluscs as a food source

What's wrong with the sound on the first one?
-
oh, I see (or hear), the sound just comes out of one side.

What a shame. Vibes the roof will hold until it can be replaced and they will be able to return soon.
-
What?
-
Page four? Really?
-
Back from the club act.
-
This is kind of nauseating, don't you think?
-
I almost turned in for the night, but I was afraid this would happen.
-
This is kind of nauseating, don't you think?
More than that, it is disgusting.
-
Yesterday was the puzzle question, but I forgot to answer it.
-
Answer it now, dear boy.
-
Suddenly not feeling great. Likely to turn in early.
gotta stay away from them bivalve molluscs
-
There are many things I do not understand - page four is one of them. Another is the sheer amount of time dear reader Jane and her ever-lovin' Keith spend out of town.
-
trying to catch up on everything that wasn't done this past week
-
unfortunately most of the undone has remained undone

last of the laundry is in the dryer

I enjoy crossword puzzles, but I don't have the brains for the NY Times versions. I do enjoy the TV Guide puzzles.
-
Vixmom, is your new office any closer to your house?
-
I enjoy jigsaw puzzles, or did until I started adopting cats.
-
The two do not work well together.
-
I don't quite understand those jigsaw pieces with many thousand of pieces. Some of the pieces that you can't even figure out what is the color supposed to be.
-
Oh dear, I hope Vixmom hasn't fallen asleep at her computer!
-
I have a dear friend (okay an ex) who lives in Arizona. We had a nice two-hour chat on the phone this evening. He is a very nice man, but he comes from wealth, so we don't always see things in the same light.
-
Vixmom! Wake up!
-
i really don't think that will help.
-
Anyway, my ex asked me to go on the Queen Mary II with him next summer. I am .not going to hold my breath. This is not the first time he has invited me along on a cruise that never came about.
-
The biggest problem is the fact that really hates to fly. That was no big deal until he quit drinking. The only way to get him on a jet was to more five or more drinks in him before boarding. And he alway flew First Class, because they would bring him another drink before take off.
-
He was in a plane crash when he was serving in Korea.
-
He still insists on flying First Class, although now it is a ridiculous waste of money.
-
I mean, no matter how nice the china and the silverware may be, it is still airline food.
-
So, basically, he goes and books these cruises, but when the time comes, he is so nervous about the flying that he cancels the trip.
-
Three year ago, he booked a cruise on the Queen Mary from Southampton around the tip of Africa and ending in Australia. Cunard even threw in the cruise from New York to Southampton. So all he had to do is fly from Arizona to NYC.
Only problem, he would have to fly home from Australia. A month before the cruise, he called them up and cancelled the whole trip.

Yikes! Why even bother booking the cruise to begin with? :-\

George, when did you get home?

Patiently (not) awaiting George's thought on the Sandy CD and perhaps an Amazon review?
-
George, when did you get home?
About an hour and a half ago. I caught up with all the posts.
-
Patiently (not) awaiting George's thought on the Sandy CD and perhaps an Amazon review?
I have only listened to it once (and loved it), and want to hear it again before commenting (most favorably).

Tonight I ushered for a couple of flamenco dancers, Mariana Collado and Carlos Chamorro. Their "band" consisted of two guitars, a violin and two vocalists. It was a wonderful evening! So much energy. They got a deserved standing ovation. :)
