Deb, I assume that you have a Windows-based PC (not Apple, even though you have an IPad). Perhaps you an e-mail your pictures to yourself and retrieve them from your PC.

If not, then perhaps your photos are automatically backed up to an Apple cloud. You could go there perhaps and get the pictures.

IPads don't have USB ports but you could get a USB adaptor that goes into your power socket and then you could plug a USB flash drive in and take the pictures off the IPad.

Sorry for my absence yesterday. A last-minute change in the DH's family holiday plans meant a long and unexpected detour to the southern part of the state right after work on Wednesday. The weather wan't great, so the trip was fraught, and from there it was pretty much non-stop until dinner concluded last night and we were finally home. All in all it was really lovely; just not the calm respite I had been expecting. We were 16 for dinner (which I did not have to prepare), including a gaggle of young children, which was fun.

DR ChasSmith, I am delighted that you will be playing She Loves Me, by far my favorite Broadway show and score. I am hoping for your sake that the rental materials now include a properly notated score, instead of that dreadful hand-written thing that they used to send.

I'm trying to think now, but I believe we ate turkey, stuffing, green salad, popovers, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, brussels sprouts, cranberry sauce, and for dessert, pumpkin pie and/or oreo pie.

Title: Re: STUFFED

And what might I be stuffed with, you ask?

Lots of little appetizer thingies throughout the day, and then the usual stuff, but all lovingly and carefully prepared:  turkey, sage sausage and cranberry and apple stuffing (mine), mashed potatoes, gravy drenching all of the above, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce (mine), green bean/crispy onion ring casserole, tossed salad (mine), and garlic bread (mine).

There was also a pasta course because, well, with a couple of these people there is always a pasta course.  Cavatelli and a wonderful homemade marinara in which was cooked meatballs, sausage, and pepperoni.  I was careful to only have a three-bite helping of this, as it is very filling and I would have been stuffed before I got to the stuffing.

There were half a dozen of us and this was a group effort.  My contributions went over smashingly.  My own libation of choice was a nouveau beaujolais which, after years of ignoring them, I'm very much enjoying now as a light accompaniment to this meal.

Desserts were pumpkin pie, apple pie, whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, and tiramisu -- and believe it or not, I had not one bite of any of it, I was so stuffed.  There's that word again.  I had a cup of coffee, and that was that for me.  But there are leftovers galore, and I shall set to them today, with gusto.

I don't know how many musicians there will be or whether he's piano-conducting or just conducting, so I have no idea what he's planning on having me play.  I have a PDF of that handwritten score, which I'll use now to start getting familiar with the proceedings.

Yes'm!  The latter is simple -- I followed the instructions on the Trader Joe's 12-oz. package of cranberries.  Bring one cup of water and a cup of sugar to a boil, reduce to simmer, add the cranberries, cook for ten minutes or so till a number of them have popped.  Chill.  Eat.

I used two packages, so doubled the recipe.  What I didn't think of in advance was the option of using orange juice instead of water, and I do love me some orange in my cranberry.  Next time!

The stuffing recipe was a put-together from multiple recipes, so I'll get it together later and post it.

Good morning, all!

I could not get to sleep last night, so I stayed up far too late reading Paul Ford's deliciously lowdown gossipy book on his life in the theatre. It's currently a sprawling draft, and I have no idea if it will ever be published, but it's one helluva good read. Knowing Paul, I know it's all true.  He told me the RAGS stories at the time of the original production. So, I stayed up far too late and got ut of bed later than I had intended.

I must run to the bank and get to work.  Joshie has changed my Paint Your Wagon deadline to Dec. 15 and I'm still in Act One!

The rental materials for She Loves Me are now, I believe, the puny Roundabout revival version with a small band, and it's all digitized. The handwritten piano-conductor score and parts of the original production are only rented now on special occasion, I believe.

ROBERTA now has 10 reviews on Amazon. Nine are good, one is poor, and a J.T. Waldmann in Indiana has posted negative comments after a review but not posted a review himself. I have no idea how it or the other four recordings are selling, though.

Which means I'll go get food around noon o'clock.  It will be interesting to see how crowded Jerry's is today - they were jammed on Wednesday.  You'd hope that people ate so much and had so many leftovers that they would not go out to eat at all today, but I am never not surprised by the denizens of the City of Studio.

Dear Fellow Haines His Way folks!
Thank you all for the birthday wishes!!

On this Thanksgiving(and my natal day) weekend, I feel grateful for many things, not the least of which is having a  spouse who is French and cooks better than I, and twin daughters who have the love of performing and seeing live theatre/musical theatre as much as dear old Mom.

I want to thank Bruce for inviting us into his world….his Kritzerland books, his marvelous shows, this blog, his favorite coffee shop, the affable and wonderful way he has with kids. Next year he is directing something new, a really different concept, that I am working to produce with him, more to be revealed and very exciting for young performers :-)

I hope you all have a restful rest of your holiday weekend, that yesterday was lovely however you spent it.
Here in LA it was a balmy 80 degrees, I watched the Macys Day parade while cooking.  That was particularly sentimental for me.   In my 20s I lived in NYC and was recruited to be in the Thxgiving parade as a "Babes in Toyland soldier", flanking Phyllis Diller as "Mother Goose".  We marched from 81st and Central Park West down to Macys, with all those surreal inflatables floating overhead and bumping into high rises.  It was bitterly cold and there was a bit of snow/slush, children on the sidelines of the parade scowling because they were cold, hungry, bored or all three, having arrived at 4 a.m. to get a good spot.  Phyllis laughed with us later about how all she could see for blocks were sour-pussed kids, yet we were smiling, waving…..

Yesterday my French husband (the cook!) made the juiciest turkey EVER.  And I made a killer sausage chestnut cream stuffing.  It was a wonderful meal and no one had to be rolled to the car.

Here's hoping your Thanksgiving Day was glorious however you spent it!

I had a lovlier than lovely dinner yesterday at my friends,' Sharry and Micheal's, house.  (I know all that punctuation is wrong)  Anyway, we had turkey, two kinds of stuffing, two kind of vegetable casseroles, deviled eggs with shrimp, candied yams, rolls, and two kinds of cranberry sauce.  For dessert we all had my pumpkin dessert and coffee.  The woman sitting next to me made one of the cranberry sauces, so she made sure to hand it to me and tell me that she made it.  Now I drink cranberry juice daily, but I do not like cranberries as jelly or as sauce.  And this one was made with oranges and apples, but not sugar.  The bottom line was NO SUGAR!

Recently, my friends Sharry and Micheal attended a celbration of the life of a well-known theater person in Seattle.  I had never met the person, so I did not attend.  It was quite a large turnout of people who truly loved this man, including an old friend who came to Seattle for the celebration.

Sharry and Micheal (one either end) and a friend.

Wow, the weather wasn't good for driving. glad you made it ok

So, I went to work at 9:30 this morning.  I started working on the one project I HAD to get in the mail today.  I didn't stop to eat, drink or even go to the bathroom.  140 pages of exhibits and an 8 page brief later I made it to the post office at 4:45 PM.  Whew!   I had to go back and break the exhibits up into smaller groups to serve them on the other side via email, but I made it home before 6:00.  I never would have gotten it done on a regular day with people coming in and the phone ringing.

I have to say I don't love reading about the Herringbone Kickstarter problems. It sounds like the Herringbone Kickstarter was not handled at all well by the person who started it - perhaps he deserves a kick.  If you're going to do it and ask for money, then the perks all need to happen as they should and updates should also happen regularly because that's the deal.

I can assure everyone, just as they know from our Nudie Kickstarter, that all Indiegogo perks will happen as they should, in a timely manner and updates will happen regularly.  This is not a slight to FJL or Skip, just to the man who did the Kickstarter campaign.

I wonder if the trend toward opening on Thanksgiving Day is cannibalizing sales on Friday.  Okay, yes, insane people are insane, but how many are insane enough to go out and fight crowds on Thursday evening, then get up and do it the next day?

I probably shouldn't spend time wondering things like that.

Well, I better call it a night.  Paul is calling early in the morning to have breakfast and they are having some fun activities for Small Business Saturday.

I heard two women were trampled at a local Walmart today by men pushing their way through to get $200 TV sets.

Wild horses could not drag me to any store other than Gelson's, which was pretty empty tonight, on Black Friday.

And now, I must go.  I don't want to go to the store, but I didn't prepare and get cat food earlier.  My bad.

Anyway, until later!

Going to Fred Meyer for cat food was just like any other normal day...no crowds and no problems.  I was able to easily find a parking spot and get the cat food quickly.

apparently the Nordstrom's shooting wasn't related to Black Friday sales  it was a man who shot his girlfriend (a Nordstroms' seasonal employee) and then shot himself  he's dead and she's critical

You need a multi-region Blu-ray player...and I highly recommend getting.  I got one on eBay last year for only about $200 and it can play Blu-ray AND DVDs from around the world.  It's also an up-scaling player, so everything looks better on my widescreen TV. :D

You need an all region player - essential for crazy people like me.
