TOD:
I am quite fond of holiday music, so I will be attending an inordinate number of concerts during the month of December, either as listener or performer, as well as listening to the radio and streams and CDs.
Mary, Merry, Marry (that's three)!
TOD: Mostly I try to ignore Christmas until about a week before. I think the whole things goes on way too long.
I arose a little earlier than I planned, but I am off to work after a two month break.
The knee is still not okay, but I maxed out my medical leave and would be losing my health coverage. So I am back.
I have decided that this December - now that it is December - that my mission will be doing errands for my working friends.....I have let it be known that if anything needs to be picked up or purchased or driven to, I would be glad to do it.....just make sure it's on my schedule in a timely manner.....although I do expect a couple of emergency runs.....
TOD
Spending time with my family the first time in many years everyone with the exception of my late father will be down for the holidays. looking forward to that,
TOD (cont'd) - I'm ready to turn the whole holiday entertaining enterprise over to the younger generation. Just tell me what to bring and what time to be there...

TOD: Too much is already happening with a growing number of office parties on top of everything else. But the big focus of the holiday season will be heading for Louisville on Dec. 18. First time I'll be spending Christmas with the folks at the old homestead in 35 years, if my math and memory are correct.
I have been out of bed since about 5:30, not because I was rested; but rather because I was having severe leg cramps. That is usually a side effect of being exhausted. I will probably have to nap a couple of times today.

Mike, does your company allow Shared Leave? Perhaps there are some fellow employees who would be willing to donate some of their leave?
Oh, and something extra came back to me via the rejected coins bin today: a square-ish 1945 five-cent piece from Ceylon. Isn't that interesting? I have no idea whether it had been with my coins or if the last person might have missed picking it up. But it's so unusual, and of such fine vintage, that I feel I should do something with it.
Last night was a night of celebrity dreams. It's all vague now, but I believe that I dreamed I was orchestrating a BK album of material for the men he uses in his Kritzerland shows, but all I remember now is that Jason Graae was one of the singers and I was trying to assemble an invoice and copy the band parts.

Good morning, all, and mary, marry, merry Monday.
Vibes for DRs TCB and Mike.
Same thing I do DR GINNY.......when I was working I used to be amazed at the number of OLDER people.....now MY age....who were doing their shopping, Post Office and banking chores, in the late afternoon after I got off work....
Now 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. is my store/bank/Post Office time....barring emergencies of course.

Most my life I have been prone to severe leg and foot cramps. Fortunately they aren't as bad as they used to be. I discovered it wasn't easy to maneuver through a mosquito bed, without falling, when getting out of bed in the middle of the night to walk out a cramp.
With your difficulties HOW do you work out a cramp? You have my great sympathy.
If I lived in Manhattan DR ELMORE - I would spend most of my time lost.
DR Ginny I hope you can take the leftovers to your mother tomorrow.

Thanks John. You used to have a running battle over those words after I said that where I live, all three words are pronounced exactly the same.

That is why I was up at 5:30. I couldn't work it out.

DR Jane I finished that book by Maggie Stiefvater that you were asking me about (book 3). Don't read my review though cause it has spoilers from book two, which I dot' think you have read.
DR Ginny I hope you can take the leftovers to your mother tomorrow.
Time will tell, DR Jane, because freezing rain is predicted from 4am to 1pm. I'm supposed to go to Dayton for lunch with the grantwriters, but I won't take any chances. I told Mom today I probably wouldn't be out to see her until Wednesday.
BK I am sorry if I snapped at you
I spent the entire day with people telling me what I was going to do and I came here to relax and felt I walked right back into it
still friends?

Of course. I'm never all that serious in my post rantings. It's just a "thing." I would like us to outlast Facebook, that would be my fervent hope and prayer.

I crossed it off my list when I saw their performance on the Macy's parade. Too much 'tude.
Anyone know why I can't see or find replies I make to PMs here. I make the reply and send it and I don't seem to be able to ever see it again - shouldn't there be somewhere where one can see?
once more in English:
I think you have to click on the box that says "send a copy to my mailbox" (or words to that effect)
run the hat and mitten drive

You can do that, but I wouldn't think that it's necessary.

I have found wrapping the cramp in a hot/extremely warm wet towel helps. Oddly a heating pad doesn't help much.

You do know that Catholics are the only religion that offers sainthood.

DR CILLA LIZ - several people are tweeting live from the courtroom.....nothing today, but court Tuesday and Wednesday.
Juan Martinez should be up on Tuesday with his re-direct of the first defense mitigation witness who didn't fare very well under direct cross.
The defense seems to be re-trying the guilt phase rather than presenting mitigating evidence that will keep the death penalty off the table. There have been a lot of specious allegations that take up a lot of time.....at $300 per hour for the defense attorneys....and there is no end in sight. This is the first defense witness, and who knows how many will be called.

Vixmom, I wish I could win the Lotto, for your sake as well as mine!
I wish it was possible to just go back to celebrating the reason for Christmas and skip all the shopping, the parties, the giving gifts just for the sake of giving something to everyone.
FEEL-BETTER VIBES TO VIXMOM!

The melody for the original was probably my favorite from the show, so this one doesn't measure up. But I think Quvenzhané Wallis looks great and I have a feeling she'll make a wonderful Annie. Her own, not the comic strip, which no one under 40 remembers anymore. Actually not too many under 50 remember the comic strip; the original show, yes.

I'm over 50 and I don't remember it. It could have been simply that the two newspapers in town didn't carry the comic strip.

I know, righth?
I guess it was so unexpected he was trying to figure Out what I really meangt
I have downsized my holiday activities considerably. It started when I realized I just couldn't do it all anymore. Too much work to put up the tree and decorations and too much work to take it all down again. Since I'm no longer in a corporate environment I avoid the company Christmas parties and the secret Santa stuff. I don't miss any of that. I do exchange presents with a few people--all adults--but we don't spend large sums on it. Most of my friends don't really need anything and probably feel as I do. Christmas is fun for the kids, but I feel it's a very different thing for adults.
