A couple of nights ago, I downloaded a program that can burn different kinds of video files to a DVD and make it playable!  I was able to burn some YouTube videos to one disc.  It's pretty cool!  Now, I'm going to try burning a whole show (covertly downloaded ;) ) onto a disc.  I don't know the limitations of the program...for instance, if the program will automatically fit larger file sizes onto a limited sized disc or not.  I don't know if the files that I have will be a problem.  The two together are only 2.75GB, whereas a DVD is 4.7GB.  We'll see.

This is the worst I've felt in years. :(

I used to get sick very often.  But recently I just get minorly sick.  I had a fever last night and again this morning.  My sinuses are bothering me. My nose is running. And my throat hurts when I cough.

I've already taken two hot showers today and it's only 8am.  I hope this goes away soon.

Last night, I ushered the Blind Boys of Alabama and Mavis Staples concert. These acts are far from young, yet they performed for 3 1/2 hours. And their audience, far from young also, left in droves before it was over. Very strange. The Blind Boys even went out into the lobby to sign CDs and posters afterward.

An inspiring event, and the music was wonderful.

Okay, I must apologize, but I lost my list of those who wanted a DVD copy of "Peter Pan Live!"  If I remember correctly, I had these people:  Ginny John, Laura, and Vixmom.  Please confirm with me (on the board or privately) if these are correct or not.  Would anyone else like a copy?  Please let me know.  I don't want anyone left out.

Wednesday afternoon greetings!  Today was Mom's moving day and it went more smoothly than any of us imagined.  My sister and I are exhausted and have crashed for today.  Brother-in-law and niece were finishing up a couple of details at the new place and will also crash.  Tomorrow we'll finish up in the old place and, I hope, turn in the keys by the end of the day.

Mom has met her housekeeper, her nurse, her aide, and her social worker.  The aide walked her to the dining room for lunch and Mom said it was delicious.  We were able to accommodate all but one small piece of furniture, which we will store.  It's the nightstand that matches her dresser and chest of drawers.  Tomorrow I will show her how to use her new Keurig-style coffee maker.  She also has a small refrigerator for soft drinks and snacks and her microwave.

Thanks Elmore.  He has one small problem.  The timing of leaving his country is very important to his case.   He said his wife was pregnant and visibly so when he left in February of a certain year.   The baby was born in December.   He was adamant that both were correct.  Oh well.

A friend from high school, who's still somewhat in his punk rock phase, has written a lyrical ballad for the Yuletide season called "I'm Burning Down Your Christmas Tree Tonight." The melody is catchy in a weird way, as if Depeche Mode and "Jingle Bells" had mated. Here's one of the more lively sections.

But now I'm melting down your plastic snowmen
That sing "Oh Holy Night"
It's a supercalifragilistic sight
I'm burning down your Christmas tree tonight

We played "Carol of the Bells" tonight during Advent service. Not my favorite, and my partner in the main melody went home sick. Our organist, who hasn't played bells in 10 years, stepped in. And we did fine. People loved it. There were a few minor glitches, but the congregation didn't know it.

Had lunch - a patty melt with no fries or onion rings - picked up one package, then came home and re-typed all the liner notes from Classical B'way for our new release of it.  I was originally having someone else re-type but I found so many typos and silly errors that it was just easier for me to do it.  But it took two hours.

Is this the Classic Broadway you're referring to from Bay Cities?

Yes, that's the one.   OOP for twenty years.

Classical Broadway will have all new packaging, a new preamble by yours truly and spruced up sound.  I hadn't heard it in twenty-two years and I was astonished at how good the music is and how clean the recording is.  The mastering back then is not thrilling to me, so it's getting that fresh coat of paint.

Then I have Into the Woods double CD here, which I bought mostly for the underscore.  The problem loading these things into iTunes is they way they list the performers - if it's what they usually do then every track will be under that performer's name and therefore not in any kind of order unless you bring up the album itself, which I prefer not to do.

I have to laugh at the holidays.  I can go for months and maybe go to one or two get-togethers of some sort.  Now I've got 5 or 6 in 10 days plus going home for Christmas.  Don't get me wrong I love seeing my friends, but sheesh! I was hoping to have some time to myself

Ok, here's a minor pet peeve I have.  I'm invited to a New Years Eve party.  That's cool.  I offered to cook something as everyone always brings a dish.  The hostess asked me to bring my flute instead.  I have absolutely no interest in taking my flute to their party.  I don't want to be the entertainment, I want to go to the party.  Yes, I could improvise something, but I don't want to and I don't want to feel obligated to spend the whole evening there.  It's in a very nice place, but it's a long way from my house and I don't really like to go out on New Years Eve.  I'll have to talk to Cindy, but sheesh

Just took a good look at the calendar....I have time between Christmas and New Years, so I'm going to quit whining about actually being invited to spend time with people.   It's funny, I'm becoming more reclusive than I used to be, or maybe I just love being alone.  In any event, when I have too many things with other people outside of work too many days in a row, it drives me crazy.   Luckily the only thing I added today was seeing Wild on Sunday with a good friend.  I really want to see that movie so it will be fun

I used to have those, lol.  I actually bought some crayons today.  I don't know if I'm reverting to my childhood or just going back to the things I used to enjoy doing then.  I think it was the card making party that made me realize I like doing these crafty things.  Of course once I'm done making them, I don't really have any interest in them anymore.  It's just the doing it I enjoy

They are having a concert to celebrate the Jackson Pollock mural that's been on display at our art center for the last 6 months.  Some of my artist friends are having a party a couple weeks before where we are all bringing some piece of clothing and will turn it in to our own wearable Pollock and then we'll all wear them to the concert.   I'm thinking I'll take a cap. Anything else would be stiff and uncomfortable after it was covered in paint

But they haven't been singing holiday songs.  It's like a regular episode, but there were only six groups, three were eliminated after they all sang one song, and now the last three groups get to sing another song, then the judges will decide the winner tonight.  That winning group will get $50.000.
