Title: PLEASE DON'T FLUSH FOREIGN OBJECTS DOWN THE TOILET
Post by: bk on December 21, 2014, 12:44:38 AM
Well, you've read the notes, the notes flushed no foreign objects down the toilet save for a Russian snood, and now it is time for you to post until the Danish cows come home.

To answer George's question about The Gift of the Magi - this was a newer version of it - by songwriter Beverly Bremers.

Good.  I really like the version with songs by Randy Courts and Mark St. Germain. :)

I think that Putting It Together and Marry Me A Little don't succeed as shows is that they give the performers characters to play and a "plot" to play.

The songs are enjoyable to listen to and at the time Marry Me A Little had many Sondheim trunks songs that were never heard before.

Good morning, all!  The damned dog has been barking since 9:00am this morning. It's quieted down for the moment, but I want it dead.

This Macbook makes me crabby; it was fine for carting to Ireland, but its autocorrect transforms my poor typing into words of its choice and, as I mentioned yesterday, the damned print is so small I can hardly see it. This leads to a thought: why do people want to watch a movie on a cell phone?

I've got a few things to wrap and some Jerome Moross work to attend to.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Safe travel Vibes to DR KevinH! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I saw Putting It Together with Andrews courtesy of seats by Mr. Sondheim. There was a talk back afterwards Stephen Collins and Patrick Quinn who was subbing for Michael Rupert at the performance I saw.
Andrews sings I'm Not Getting Married Today and Like It was. Her "Husband" (Collins' character) has two different names and I asked "Is your name Paul (Married Today) or Charlie (Like It Was)?
His response was "You're an actor aren't you" (At the time I was doing some acting) And then said Paul was her first husband and she's married to Charlie, me.
Many, many years ago when I was still single, I wrote this lyric, which Michael Silversher set to music.  I think the words were indicative of how people felt about dating way back then.
This weekend, I got inspired; decided to find some footage and turn "I Don't Want to Meet Him" into a music video.
Good morning.  Had to be at church to set up the computer for a presentation at the 7:00am Mass, in which there is no music, but since I'm the one that deals with the tech in the church, I was there.  Now I'm sitting in a Starbucks doing some things on the internet and about ready to head back to said church for the rest of the morning.
Last night the DD and I dressed the house with holly bright and sprigs of mistletoe.   Actually, I dressed the house, the DD stayed in the bedroom asleep on the bed.  But I got some lights going, inside and outside, decorated the very small tree, and put out some cute decor.  I believe that will suffice for the festive-ness of the apartment this season.
Good job, Druxy - was this written for characters in a show or movie to sing, or a pop number?
Sunday evening greetings!  Today was our last Lima Sunday for 2014.  We did Lessons and Carols and the church folks gave each of us a nice book for Christmas.  Fr. Richard got a Bible, of course, and I got a new biography of Joan of Arc.
I had just read on FB that the post office is delivering priority mail today.  Immediately Keith called me to read Bryan's text, that his package had arrived.
Title: Re: PLEASE DON'T FLUSH FOREIGN OBJECTS DOWN THE TOILET
Post by: Jane on December 21, 2014, 03:26:49 PM
Bryan wondered if it was perishable since it arrived on a Sunday.  I was able to explain why the delivery.
Post by: Jane on December 21, 2014, 03:27:05 PM
After Bryan responded I noticed an e between the F & B.  I typed a correction and sent it.  I then noticed it didn't send what I wrote.  While writing the 3rd text, that was also screwy, I finally figured out that Keith's phone must have this auto correct people are always complaining about.
Good morning. Today the children will present the nativity during church. We never know who will show up, so that makes it interesting.
I can't wait to hear how it went this year!
Well, the usual director (whom I love dearly; she is just disorganized) is out of town. So the pastor's wife directed.
All the little children were adorable. All the older children helped position the younger children. No one had his/her back to the audience. It was very nice, and it looked like they had practiced for it (which they really hadn't -- we didn't know who was going to show up).
Then we watched It Happened on 5th Avenue, which none of us had seen and all of us loved. Soon to be a Christmas tradition. Great Don DeFore, Gale Storm, Victor Moore and script.
Good morning. Today the children will present the nativity during church. We never know who will show up, so that makes it interesting.
I hope Mary and Jesus were there or it would look a little funny
I've never heard of any backstage stories.  I'd love to hear all the gossip.
Many, many years ago when I was still single, I wrote this lyric, which Michael Silversher set to music.  I think the words were indicative of how people felt about dating way back then.
This weekend, I got inspired; decided to find some footage and turn "I Don't Want to Meet Him" into a music video.
Do singles still feel this way?
Sorry, I had to take off.  I heard cats fighting and had to go downstairs and separate them.  Ricky was hiding under a very low table, Boo and Callie had their tails all fluffed out and were not in good moods.   I'm guessing Ricky chased them and they turned the tables.  He's hiding under the dining room table at the moment. The girls have calmed down, They usually do after I separate them.
