There probably won't be anymore Kritzerland shows in NY unless something drastically changes about NY's cabaret scene, which won't happen - for exactly the reason Julie states - there is simply too much cabaret going on, with five or six events competing with each other - in our case it seemed like even more that weekend. Liz Callaway was going to be our guest star on Sunday but dropped out because her long-time musical director did an evening of his songs at 54 Below - she could have still done the early show, but alas, didn't. It was fine - we lucked out with another fabulously talented Liz, namely Larsen. But it was just too hard to fill a room that should have been filled easily. We were ultimately happy with our audience size and the shows did go very well - but I can't go through that kind of thing on a regular basis. IF my pal Gene Castle, who books The Triad, can come up with a way to make it all work smoother, then maybe..
Holy crap! My Medicare premium has risen 38% for 2015, and it really pisses me off. Social security certainly isn't raising my benefits but Empire Health is clearly saying to those of us on fixed income, Screw You.
I hope the bastards rot in hell. At the rate they're going, i should be paying the $600/month i was paying before age 66 in another 2-3 years. It's going to be cheaper to die.
Back from my doctor's appointment with 2 prescription refills and a referral to an ear/nose/throat doctor about my buzzing ear - which is what I wanted.

Have boarded. Waiting for everyone else. Full flight to Chicago before SA.
As we close out 2014 I would have to say that it has not been the best year for me.
Here's hoping 2015 will so much better.
I am thinking that TGBH will be my favorite 2014 movie.....but I have great hopes for INTO THE WOODS and BIG EYES.

Let's hope the next year is better for you, Mike.

Hello everyone!
I hope you have all been enjoying the holidays!
I wanted to drop in and say hello to you all! DR FJL told me that there were some birthday greetings left here for me, and I want to thank all of you who thought of me yesterday, and everyone who sought me out on Facebook and also posted greetings for me there. Thank you all!!
It has been a busy year. I'm still doing a lot of work for MAC. We've instituted a new series of open mics that we run for our members that travel among our various member nightclubs, and we've instituted a new series of educational seminars. We've also presented a large event that honored songwriters during November - we had people including Amanda Green and Georgia Stitt as part of the show, presenting some of their original work. The show went great, but unfortunately, was the same weekend as BK's Kritzerland in NY shows, so I was very disappointed not to be able to attend BK's shows that weekend and get to see you all then, but I heard they were absolutely wonderful, and I'm hoping there will be another opportunity in the future to see more BK shows in NY.
I got to spend an extended Thanksgiving visit with my parents and other relatives in Florida, and got to spend some time with other relatives in NY over Christmas. Family is the best!!
I wish all of you a very happy and healthy new year, and a rockin' HHW new year's eve partay! Best wishes to you all!
Your E&T DR Julie
Well, the one good piece of news is that Time Warner had a free spot at 4:00 today and I should be getting the new modem and a technician to set me up. I'm hoping that solves a lot of issues.
Thank you for keeping Jason in your thoughts and prayers. I think the realization of how dangerous these jobs are has hit home. There has only been one other office killed in the line of duty up there.
JRand, I am glad you remember that post. We could easily have lost this young man and he could have ended up on the other side of the law. I am so very very proud of him.
So true DR LAURA....I am a much better person because somebody took some extra time with me now and then....so I always go out of my way to do the same.
And another dose of best wishes for a better 2015As we close out 2014 I would have to say that it has not been the best year for me.
Here's hoping 2015 will so much better.
Let's hope the next year is better for you, Mike.Ditto!
"Visionary director...."
I feel the same way. I guess we're just lucky Helena Bonham Carter (the soon to be EX Mrs. T. Burton) didn't "audition" for the part of Margaret Keane and "win" it over Amy Adams because of her great "talent" and "range." :P
Made it to Chicago. Boarding soon for Dallas, then SA. Thanks for the vibes.
I think.
TGBH = The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Since Margaret Keane is still alive, Helena couldn't have gotten away with making the character really weird.
I understand.
I just read that in our local libraries, E-book lending is starting to surpass traditional book circulation.
Good morning, all! The dog barked till midnight last night. While my Mac Man was here, it barked all afternoon, calmed down for awhile and then revved up again for the evening. I hate this animal.
So, the Mac seems to have settled down from the shock of being gutted and recharged. I'm hoping this is a good sign and not a lull.
Monday morning greetings! I have a routine check-up with our family doctor in half an hour, during which we will discuss the severe buzzing I get in my right ear sometimes. It was really bad yesterday in church. The pipe organ is bad enough, but add in the trumpet and - yikes! What I hear is like the static you get when a radio station isn't coming in clearly and it's most annoying.
I was just commenting last night that I completely missed Chanukah and Christmas this year. I was so out of it because of being sick.
Lily aka Marilyn is cute.
Travel vibes for everyone heading home!
OHHHHHH I almost forgot to tell you guys...... Former DR and my DN Samantha is officially engaged!! She got a very nice ring and was totally surprised. Here I thought they were already engaged, but she said not officially. Don really surprised her and she is over the moon happy. As a couple they are very good together and I couldn't think of anyone who would be a better match for her. We are all very happy about it.
She asked if he was sure.....after all he has met out family, lol
Well, that was a long day. I could have flown from the west coast in the time it took me to fly to Boston and wait for over 3 hours for my flight home.

Congratulations to former DR Samantha!!!! May she have a life filled with happiness.
I'm a bit frazzled over mom and dad. We really need to hire someone to help clean and sort. Their cleaning lady just dusts and vacuums, not the deep cleaning that needs to be done. Mom keeps saying she can do it, but she can't. We've started the process of talking to them about what they want for the future. They really don't want to talk about it. Hopefully that will change
Absolutely, the stomach bug is no fun.
FEEL BETTER EXTRA FAST VIBES FOR RICHARD!!!!
A friend of mine just posted that gin and tonic were some of their favorite things.
I always wondered what was in the brown paper packages, tied up with strings.
I guess now I know!

Thanks, DR Jane! He's vertical now, so that's progress.

Is your cough gone? I'm still coughing but feel fine otherwise.
Thanks for the vibes, DR Jane! Richard could use some, too, because he's down this evening with a stomach bug.

DR TCB did you check if there is a ramp to get into the dining room on this trip?
The big news from San Antonio while I was gone involved a fire in an adult assisted living facility. There were 5 deaths and 17 hospitalized.
Horrible story.

HA! I mentioned The Grand Budapest Hotel yesterday and here it is in the notes. It had its debut on HBO on Saturday night which is where I saw it.
As I wrote yesterday, it certainly recommend it.....for all the reasons MR BK wrote about....and I see that DR DRUXY enjoyed it as well. It is difficult to explain why. Of course Mr Ralph Fienes is one of my favorite actors (except in NELL) - so it was great to see him in this ... wacky role.....

I am glad you made it home safely, George!

Welcome to my world, DR Cillaliz...
Thanks for the vibes, DR Jane! Richard could use some, too, because he's down this evening with a stomach bug.
Vibes and prayers for DH Richard.

That's a great bit of news to end a year on. Hope they're very happy together.
