Well, you've read the notes, the notes reviewed part three, and now it is time for you to post until the part three cows come home.

It'll be very nice to sleep in my own bed with my own pillow.  I'm sure that it's freezing up there (I turned down the thermostats...way down), but it won't take too long for my bed to warm up after I've been in there for a bit.

It was fun visiting with my cousin and his wife.  We mainly just played games (Phase 10 and Sorry!) and chatted and ate, but we don't get to see them very often, so it was all good. :)

Good morning, all!

I may have caught whatever Richard's got; my stomach is not happy this morning. I've got an hour to decide if I will go to physical therapy or stay in.

Good news from DR Cillaliz! DR JohnG is home in one piece! I am pondering my day, whether or nto I go to therapy. I have wrk here to accomplish.

So, I just called physical therapy to tell them I was staying in and Lisa told me my appointment was yesterday and she was surprised i hadn't called to cancel when I didn't show up!

What's run away with my mind?

Do I get an award for Fastest Encroaching Senility of 2014?

TOD

The little tv I do watch was a mixed year for me.

Doctor Who new season was a mixed affair with a couple of episodes that to me were really good. The others had me fast forwarding or just stop watching all together. The Christmas special was good but my DVR did not record the last 20 minutes so I don't know how it ended. I have it rerecorded for Wednesday so we will see what happens then.

The other shows I watch are

The Big Bang Theory which continues to make me laugh but with any long running series I can see the "punch line" coming before it happens.

and finally

NCIS

I enjoy the stories but most of all the interplay between the main characters and miss some of the supporting characters when they are not in a particular episode.

I watched the Oscars and Tonys on tape delay so I don't have to sit through the endless comedy routines that never work for me and speed through the nominations and stop at the winner announcement.

Also I don't have to watch all those tv commercials.

Tuesday morning greetings!  Thank you to all the DRs who left "feel better" messages for Richard last night.  He was better by the time I went to bed.  I woke up early with some mild stomach upset, but think I will survive.  I know I will be in until early afternoon, because I want to see the University of Michigan's noon press conference in which Jim Harbaugh will be introduced as the new head football coach.

TOD - some of my favorite TV programming is sports:  Michigan football (painful as it is...), bowl games, NCAA basketball tournament, and, this year, the Winter Olympics.  I'm looking forward to Thursday's Tournament of Roses Parade and bowl games involving Michigan State and Ohio State.

TOD:

The Comeback - I was happy to see it come back after 10 years....

Olive Kitteridge - I though Frances McDormand was excellent.....

American Horror Story: Freak Show - more weird entertainment with some good acting and some other people also in the show

So You Think You Can Dance - some of the routines are quite inspired

I like NCIS as well.....but for some reason, they can't find an actress for the main team of three who can act....this blonde is the third or fourth one, and she's probably the worst of the bunch. And Abby played by Pauly Perrette can be super annoying.

I liked the second girl Ziva - played by Cote de Pablo - who was on for many seasons.

I am ready to scream and run from the building pulling what's left of my hair; I'm writing the edit notes for a number that seems endless, and i've been closely perusing every bar for anything I might have missed,  the notes look like thus:
m. 5         “Full” chorus
m. 8         SOPRANOS & SOUTHERN GIRL
                ALTOS & NORTHER GIRL
m. 15       Piano LH: D-natural
               Piano RH: A-natural, B-natural, D-natural
               Tenors: B-natural
m. 16      Why does the space between the2/4 and the first note seem so wide?;
I notice this at every meter change; could it be the unnecessary bar
               numbers in every bar?
m. 20      Same as m. 15

I'm about half of the way through it, Oy!

Ones that i love but we are behind on in Canada: royal Pains, Rizzoli & Isles, homeland.

Then we had a two-hour work session with Sami.  She read through the six or seven monologues that I've written so far, and even though it was a cold reading (she'd never seen one word of it) and she was struggling just to keep up with the words and to understand their point, most of it was really funny even in that rough a reading.  So, that was good.  Then we ran through the three songs I've written so far (there are five in total - but two are not new).  It was really fun and I'm feeling like this could turn into something interesting.  So, onward we go.

I finished my edit notes and thought I'd take a nap before attacking the next number. Joshie called an asked me ifi could help him with proofreading the scores for Lady Be Good. I hopped on a bus to City Center and worked on several numbers for four and a half hours.  I'll go in tomorrow morning and work until 1:30.

A good day.

I met Miss Rainer when I was working on Totally Hidden Video prior to our move to Hollywood in the final season.  We were in North Hollywood at Premore, a post-production house.  And Miss Rainer was there to do some voice over thing for some show about Hollywood - Van Johnson was also there.  I met her and I don't really remember how, but the next day I had her sign a photo for me, which I still have.  Maybe I'll scan it.  She was approaching eighty at that point - and she lived almost another quarter century!

That's how I feel when I go to one grocery store in town where they are constantly rearranging the aisles.  Like from one side of the store to another.   It's too frustrating to shop there but it's the only store open on Sunday so I end up there sometimes

I have my second cornbread in the oven from the new buttermilk recipe I tried.  It was yummy except that it stuck to the bottom of the pan.  This one I will leave in the pan to cool.

My recipe has sugar in it which I know many say it is wrong to add.  I do like sweet things.  DR John, unfortunately you were out of town and not here when I was searching for a recipe.

This is what I have decided is MY holiday tradition.   I am going to make my favorite holiday foods every year around holiday time, just not all at the same time.  So one day it will be one favorite food and a couple days later another.  Our holiday meals are now pretty much the traditions of my brothers family.  My favorites aren't their favorites, so this way they can have whatever they want to have an I'll still get my favorites too

Well, it's time for me to leave.  I need to feed my friend's cats (I've done it before...a LOT ;) ).  Then, I'll go home and figure out something to do.

Until later!

DR John is the one who said to use the box mix for cornbread, :)

Oops, I missed that was DR John-sorry John.

Could have been tongue in cheek I don't know for sure

No time to be much of a TV watcher, but I did binge watch ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK on Netflix, while I had a long delay in an airport, and that was very good, both acting and writing.   Also loved the few episodes of HOUSE OF CARDS that I caught….Kevin Spacey is just excellent in whatever he does.  And MadMen is still one of my favorites, though I missed this season.

Advance wishes for a Happy New Year to all the folks here! ----- Leslie (aka LeChienFou)

Good evening. I spent a lovely day with Wae-Ling and a photographer friend of mine. The photographer has never looked at birds before. We were at a wildlife preserve on the Colorado River. She learned a lot about birds today.

TOD: I do not own a tv, so any tv watching I do is in motel rooms. Frankly, I think the best thing on is The Weather Channel.

And I stand by that. Doctor it with your own ingredients, like jalapenos or fresh corn or pimento. Or sausage.

Somehow I ended up watching a Jane Powell double feature tonight. First was "A Date with Judy," followed by "Hit the Deck." Not terribly thought provoking.

Oh, no!  I totally forgot that they were on.  I hope my sister's boyfriend recorded them. :-\ He's done that in the past.

The helper will finally be back on Friday - and we're going to have to have a long talk.  The deal that I knew in advance from the start was that she went home to visit her folks two to three times a year.  And that's what it's been until now - but in addition to going back already earlier, she went back for Thanksgiving for over a week, and Christmas (which she hasn't done before) for TWO weeks and now I've been informed her folks for Christmas gave the family a cruise - eight days at the end of January.  I've kind of already told her that for those eight days she has to have someone on call to ship stuff - it's mostly because of Amazon - when those orders come in, you have to confirm them immediately and say you're shipping the same day - it gives you NO options to ship later and they send you harassing e-mails if you don't confirm in twenty-four hours.  Needless to say, we've got eight orders that came in since she's been gone that haven't been shipped.  If people start complaining we get negative feedback and Amazon could suspend the seller account and I just can't have this repeated stuff.  So, unless we come to an understanding, I may be on the lookout for a new helper, which I'd hate to do after four years, but it's too much already.

We are approaching the next health care sign-up deadline at work on Wednesday. Sign up by noon to get coverage starting on 1/1/15,

It is going to be a truly hairy morning.

 :P

The only good news is that they can't extend the deadline any further.  Well, I suppose they could push it to midnight.        :)

The system (and the Federal hub) keep breaking down from the heavy web traffic. Because of course our state is not the only one with folks applying for last-minute healthcare.
