I guess it IS Friday. It seems more like....something other than Friday.
Please keep my Dear Niece in your thoughts and prayers. She had severe abdominal pain last night and was rushed to the hospital. She ended up having emergency surgery in the middle of the night to stop some severe abdominal bleeding. I don't really know more except that she is out of recovery, talking and may go home later today. I haven't talked to anyone there, just got notified via email. I have to wonder if it isn't related to her two c sections in a year and a half
Yes, Ginny, and she still thinks you are cute
Eight years is not so long DR BEN. Eight years ago was 2007, and it seems like yesterday sometimes.

DR Cillaliz, it's nice to chat with you here in the middle of a weekday!Yes, It's nice to be here in the middle of the day. I'm with Elmore, I have no idea what day it is anymore. I thought it was Sunday all day yesterday.
I have physical therapy this morning. I've reached a status quo and it's doing nothing for me but keeping me limber and forcing me to exercise, which is not a bad thing at all.
Mario Cuomo died today too
Not sure it was mentioned here
DR lechienfou, Keith & I have gone to the parade a couple of times but never just to see the floats. I wish we had done that. We never took the children though which I would also liked to have done.
Here is the Isaac Bashevis Singer interview with himself about Yentl.

I had not seen this.
Did I ever mention how I fixed my washing machine? I just unplug it when I'm not using it. It's been working fine ever since I started doing that and obviously it can't start by itself like it was doing before.
Well, this is kicking up Facebook today. The PR's good but the story doesn't jive at all with what I heard about the causes for the delay:

As usual, the truth never comes out and PS Classics and Tommy are trying to either be diplomatic or they made a deal and can't say the truth.
Ginny, I think Houston just pulled off a bigger turn around than the Spartans!

Last load of laundry in the washer....whew! My dryer vents into my garage so I don't like to do laundry when it's too cold out because I have to open the garage a little. With the cold snap we've had, I had a lot of laundry!
The nice thing is that if I finish the next two or three pages, I'll be done with Chapter One - that will be great.

Can it be re-vented to outside the garage? There were some condos in my complex that had dryers venting into the units' ceilings! The original condo board allowed that to happened (it was built 30 years ago) and now, those units have had some damage that the HOA has to pay for. The president at the time allowed some very shaky choices with the building of the buildings. He's long gone from the HOA, but the current board (and actually several incarnations over the last several years) have had to clean up some stupid mistakes that shouldn't have happened.
I would hate to have to keep my garage door opened EVERY time I did laundry.
Donna Douglas death is - a hoax. I am so tired of these death hoaxes and there should be a way to launch a lawsuit against any site that thinks that sort of thing is funny.
It seems to be true....confirmed by relatives:

And have we mentioned Edward Herrmann's passing?

Congrats to her sister.
I love the Isaac Bashevis Singer things I've read, and he wrote a wonderful play that died in a really short Broadway run around 1980, Teibele and The Demon. I really loved it, but the critic did not. So, I looked forward to Lentl and really hated it: Shtetl by Laura Ashley. I do remember that Amy Irving was absolutely gorgeous.
I have never read his rant about the film but I would like to.

My dear friend Patsy, who owned the travel agency where I worked, has a sister that works every year on several of the floats for the Rose Parade. Patsy went down and helped out one year. Apparently, this year her sister's group won one of the major awards.
TOD:
I just signed up again for Netflix. Hopefully my first title (CHEF) will arrive on Saturday.
Hi DR Danise. I believe he means the movie http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2883512/?ref_=nv_sr_1I will.
If you haven't seen it I suggest you do.
I am watching a blu ray of Elton John's 60th birthday concert at madison Square Garden just as I read your post , Danise, Robin Williams popped up on my TV!Yikes! ;)
Critic Rob Stevens, who's been reviewing LA theater longer than anyone, over forty years now, is bringing back his Robby Awards, something that began in the early 1970s and continued until a decade ago when Rob moved away. He's been back for a year and has just announced the nominations - and to say I'm bowled over would be a grand understatement - Li'l Abner is up for NINE Robby Awards, including production, director, best actor and actress, best supporting actor (John Massey), musical direction, music and lyrics, costume design and Kay Cole for choreography. And as if that wasn't enough bounty, three Kritzerland shows are up for best cabaret/concert performance - our female lyricists show, our April Fool's show and our tribute to Dorothy Fields. And as if I needed even more icing on the cake, the Sandy Bainum Ira Gershwin show, which I created and directed is up, too. And I'll tell you why it feels so nice: Because in my forty four years in this business, I have never been nominated for anything having to do with the theater. Yes, a Grammy nom, but this is just so much fun! http://www.haineshisway.com/2015/01/the-29th-annual-robby-award-nominations-by-rob-stevens/
I've already read about 400 pages this year. I really need to sleep tonight. Last night I slept from midnight to 5:00am and then from 7:30-8:30 this morning.
TCB I really enjoyed Sleuth! I have never seen the play and had no idea how things were going to go... well done.my friend!
Just finished Kismet. Only the second time I've seen the movie. It's a lot better than I remember, though it's far from a masterpiece. The Jack Cole choreography was quite good. So is Delores Gray.
John, congrats on your nomination. You deserve it after being snubbed by the Alamo Bowl.
A huge storm has whipped up here. Thunder, lightning, plenty of rain. Strange for midwinter here.
and thank you to George who I know was instrumental in getting this made!

And what is especially gratifying is that other than Don Grigware, who did give a best musical event award to Li'l Abner, not ONE other critic could be bothered to see the show.
