Post by: elmore3003 on January 03, 2015, 05:43:34 AM: I have one thing new to report here: I did have one amusing happening yesterday: one of the leads in GENTLEMEN BE SEATED at NYC Opera - in a cast including Dick Shawn, Avon Long, Carol Brice,and Alice Ghostley - is still alive and I contacted hm about his memories on the show. He's now in his early 80s and I enjoyed talking to him, but he hated the piece, thought that City Opera should have not done it, and disliked the politics. It was clear from several comments that he was a Reagan supporter, and I guess Moross' liberal stance was offensive to him.

Since i think the score is fantastic, I listened and said nothing to contradict him.

Also, here in the desert where we run the AC, we replace our filters monthly. At least we are supposed to. So if you run your AC or heat very much, you should replace it much more often than every three months.

Here hemoglobin count is still pretty low so her fiancé (who was up doing a lot of research last night) is going to ask the doctor a lot of questions about whether she should be going home and is consulting another doctor about whether they are doing the right thing. It's comforting to me to hear he is so proactive about her medical care.

Awoke at ten-thirty after about nine and a half hours of glorious sleep - didn't wake up once during the night - then stayed in bed thinking about book stuff and am now up and about to futz and fix yesterday's stuff. elmore beat me to the punch about the Talkin' Broadway review - very nice indeed, and I especially likes that he prints specific lyrics he likes.

I often write down the date when I replace something like that, or you can assign certain dates for replacement. I found that the replacement filters for my vacuum cleaner are available on Amazon, and suspect many other filters are as well. Most convenient.

I don't like using the heat much, but have had to keep it on at night or I'm cold and can't sleep. I recently bought two new throws, intended for the sofa, and those have come in quite handy, both when I'm watching a movie and when I', sleeping.

There is nothing -- nothing -- like the feeling that things are under control -- whatever it is -- whether one thing or many, and whether major or minor. That reassurance is invaluable.

I've made better chicken stew in the past, It's good but I've done better.

She and I worked well together - planning, cooking, setting up, and cleaning up. I'd co-host another event with her in a minute.

I looked at the catalog. I have had a few of those items in the past & still have the ironing board/iron holder though my current iron does not fit.
