Well, you've read the notes, the notes were back to work with a vengeance, and now it is time for you to post until the back to work cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: GLEED!
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
Morning DR Ben. I still need to go to sleep.
-
Good morning, all!
In 45 minutes or so I'll head for the bus; it will take me two - the 104 and the No. 5 - to get to 23rd and Fifth Avenue for my eye appointment. Following that, I'll head back uptown and get back to work on the Moross show. I need to stop at Toyland, but without internet it's a waste of my time.
I'm not sure how I feel about GALAVANT, although I did like King John's number in the first episode. I kept thinking, i've seen all this before.
DR TCB, I'm happy you had a good time at Sharry's party.
-
I'm back in the office for the first time in a month. I'll survive.
-
Elmore - what were you finding it similar to?
-
I'm back in the office for the first time in a month. I'll survive.
I hope so.
-
It is most certainly Monday.
-
Thanks, all, for the additional vibes. I think my fever finally broke overnight.
-
I will have to see if Galavant is available ON DEMAND Vixdad was in the middle of some movie when it started
-
I thought the opening episode of Downton Abbey was very good I did find I had to shout at the screen a few times to be sure the characters were paying attention and doing the right thing.
Fortunately they listened to me (most of the time)
-
Cilla, I meant to tell you how happy I was that everything turned out all right for Sam ... a bunch of Long Island Lutherans prayed for her quick recovery yesterday and gave thanks for the medical team that saved her

Well I just had a bowl of oatmeal with apples, cranberries, and hemp seed hearts
I had oatmeal with mixed berries and walnuts and cinnamon and coffee.
-
Good morning, all.
Just coffee for me, thanks. I'll have something later.
-
Good morning, all!

We watched GALAVANT last night. Thought it was fun.
I'm not sure if they can sustain it beyond 6-10 episodes, but we'll see.
-
Monday morning greetings! We're in for a snowstorm tonight, so I better get some errands done today.
-
Good morning, all.
First day back to work with the rest of the staff after the lax holiday period.
It dropped below freezing last night and I didn't want to leave bed this morning. Now that I'm at work, I still don't want to be up and at 'em.

TOD:
Cheesy '80s movies:
Polyester
Toxic Avenger
Surf Nazis Must Die
Escape from New York
Big Trouble in Little China
Buckaroo Bonzai
Robocop
The Last Starfighter
-
TOD:
ROBOCOP, HALLOWEEN III and THE LAST STARFIGHTER...only because they co-starred my publicity client and friend, Dan O'Herlihy.

TOD:
"Overboard"
I missed half of "Galavant", so I'll be looking for it OnDemand too. But it's also repeating next Saturday. Glad you liked it, Druxy. TVGuide wrote a good review of it, but Mark said he'd only read bad reviews everywhere else.
-
Here are your menus - I'll be with you in about ten minutes.
-
Now what will you have?
Where did they go?
-
DR MIKE I think that Emily Blunt was in the dream because you feel a kinship with her in the profession and you are anticipating seeing her in the film.
-
That is correct.
Turn the page.
-
I watched about 11 minutes of GALAVANT, but all of the songs sounded ALIKE to me, and the ensemble was a mush mouthed mess.....hard to understand.
So since I didn't watch it all, I won't comment except to say I doubt I will watch any more of it.
-
I switched to HBO and watched THE HEAT with Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock, which I liked much more than I thought I would.
Sandra in her FBI pants suit went to dinner at McCarthy's house.....
Brother: So are you a man or a woman?
Bullock: I'm a woman.
Brother: So you mean from the git go? No surgery or nothing?
Bullock: Uh....no....no....all woman.

Predictions are for our first BIG snowfall tonight......starting about 10 p.m. We shall see.
I wandered over to the store just in case.

Does Massacre at Central High count? or was that 1970's?

TOD:
From 1977....but it's one of my favorites - THE CAR
We saw the preview and there was some laughter at the beginning of it, by the end the entire theater was laughing long and loud.

I am home from my eye exam. He put drops in my eyes, so everything is out of focus at the moment.
I thought the GALAVANT humor was very low - and I like low humor of the highest order - but I felt i'd seen and heard it all before in the TV series WHEN THINGS WERE ROTTEN, KROD MÄNDOON: SWORD OF FIRE, ROBIN HOOD: MEN IN TIGHTS, SPAMALOT, and MONTY PYTHON. It wasn't that I disliked it; I have been there before.
-

In 45 minutes or so I'll head for the bus; it will take me two - the 104 and the No. 5 - to get to 23rd and Fifth Avenue for my eye appointment.
You got an eye appointment!!!! :) I hope it went well.
-

Good!!!! Vibes it stays away!

Cilla, I meant to tell you how happy I was that everything turned out all right for Sam ... a bunch of Long Island Lutherans prayed for her quick recovery yesterday and gave thanks for the medical team that saved her
Nice :)

I should have waited to comment, only you didn't say how it went. Are your eyes ok and do you need new glasses?
-
I finally fell asleep at 6:30 this morning & slept for an hour. It took until close to 9:00 before I could actually drag myself out of bed.
-
Everything is out of focus for me, too, and I didn't even have an eye exam.
-
I'm up, I'm up. Got up at ten after about nine hours of sleep. Helper came by and got stuff. I haven't even started on futzing and finessing, but will shortly. I think I'll deliver pages either tomorrow or wait until Thursday when it will have been a week since beginning.
-
Galavant holds no interest for me at all. I'm sick to death of these "meta" musical things and self-referential and winky-winky things.
-
Another yokel opened a paypal dispute for a package not received - without the courtesy of sending us an e-mail. I just don't get it. I've already responded to it, but more importantly I've also happily provided Paypal with the tracking number of the package as well as - wait for it - confirmation of DELIVERY on 12/15. Oops. What these yokels truly don't get with their attitude is that once I provide that information they are out of luck, whether they got it or not. We, Kritzerland, have fulfilled our end of things and Paypal can do nothing to us. Now, sometimes things are delivered but somehow people don't get them. I don't really understand that at ALL, but it happens. We're always accommodating about it and do send a replacement, but we also ask them to speak to their post office to see how this can be. If this yokel doesn't do what I have suggested, i.e. shut down the dispute immediately, then I'm afraid we're done with him. IF he does shut it down, we'll send him a replacement, even though that means we are out the cost of a CD and a postage charge.
-
Back at work.
Oh, joy!
Oh, glee!
Oh, hwell!
-
On the plus side, it's almost noon. And that means "lunch".
Roast beef sammich.
Chopped salad.
Water.
-
I uploaded BK's remix of Follies on my new laptop yesterday and was surprised to see that the logo included on iTunes was for the Capitol CD release, Strange.
-
I'm trying hard not to get any work done today.
-
Good afternoon.
I had trouble posting this morning at home and at work
-
I am sooooo sleepy. I've been lounging about all afternoon, fighting sleep. I did the laundry as soon as I came in so I feel I've accomplished something today.
-
Update on the yokel - he found the CD in a pile of CDs sitting on his shelf. He has apologized and said "the dispute is closed." Only he didn't close it - apparently he's smart enough to OPEN it but not CLOSE it. So, I called paypal and they closed it.
-
Had some chicken tenders for lunch. Prior to that I futzed and finessed and now I suppose I'll mush on to the new chapter.

Congrats on it coming to an end, at least.

Good morning, all!
...
I'm not sure how I feel about GALAVANT, although I did like King John's number in the first episode. I kept thinking, i've seen all this before.
I enjoyed it, for the most part. A co-worker of mine turned it off after the opening number. She wasn't impressed at all.
-
Thanks, all, for the additional vibes. I think my fever finally broke overnight.
Great news, Sing!
-
Here's your menu - I'll be back in ten minutes.
-
And what would like today?
Hey, where'd they go?
-
Back from some errands:
Picking up a few goodies from Trader Joe's, retrieving tux shirts from the cleaners, buying a few Pentel mechanical pencils at OfficeMax, attempting to pick up contact lenses without checking first to see if the dr.'s office was open today (so of course it wasn't), and looking in Barnes and Noble for something that wasn't there).
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
-
Site is oddly slow and sticky for me, for the first time in quite a while.
-
Site is oddly slow and sticky for me, for the first time in quite a while.
I thought that it was just me and my computer, but I notice that it's only HHW. :-\
-
Yes, I alerted them to it about fifteen minutes ago - they're checking it out.
-
Still seems iffy to me.
-
I know it's not Friday, but I just received (from Amazon) the 10-disc boxed set compilation, The Complete Recordings of Bert Brecht & Kurt Weill (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F2V02H8/), as well as Laura Benanti's In Constant Search of the Right Kind of Attention (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CRU5YW0/).
-
I'm now listening to the 1930 "Die Dreigroschenoper." Then, I'll listen to Laura Benanti, then another Brecht/Weill CD. :)
-
Still seems iffy to me.
I just had trouble connecting.
-
This morning I emptied and cleaned out a good amount of the cabinets in our bathroom. My energy is gone but I had better put everything back in so we can move around in there.
-
10-disc complete recordings?

that's a lot of Brecht-Weill! Is there a complete MAHAGONNY? What a great score!
-
Well, our viewing life has changed! We got a late Christmas present, a Roku 3. Ant's mother saw it on sale and decided we needed one and sent it to us. It arrived today. What a box of stuff! Part of the fun is YouTube. You can watch the videos on the television instead of the computer screen. I've paired the laptop with the Roku box and I can search from the keyboard instead of on screen and then send the clip to the full size 32 inch tv instead of the 15 inch laptop screen.
-
Evening all!
Sorry Dear Elmore but I have to ask-- Oh, say can you see? ') I'm glad you got your eyes checked. I hate those drops but now that I have diabetes, it has to be done.
Monday, back to work. Blah. It's over rated.
Glad to read you got the dispute handled, DR BK.
Not much else going on. I'll be going to bed around 9:30. I woke up sometime after 3 and could NOT go back to sleep so I'm tired already.
Have a good evening all!

I don't know if it's "complete," but it is on two CDs. Disc 1 (act 1 and beginning of act 2) is 61:43, and Disc 2 (the rest of act 2 and all of act 3) is 74:20.

Nice gift. We would like to update our viewing to stream from the computer to the tv.
-
We get the drops, mostly have over the years.
-
It is funny, Keith prefers to get his drops in the morning and be done with the annoying vision before we watch tv. I prefer to get mine in the afternoon and not deal with it all day.
-
Since I trashed much of what I pulled off the shelves it didn't take all that much time to put everything back. I then cleaned off 3 more shelves.
It really hurts to trash stuff, such a waste but I am not using what I trashed. I'm saving the clothes & other things I don't want to give up until last.

That's pretty cool! I know a few people who have Roku and really like it. My Blu-ray player can stream from YouTube on my TV, so that's what I do. I otherwise don't have a computer input on my TV, so I can't do what my sister does, which is have her big-screen TV be her computer monitor.
-
And now, it's time for me to leave work and go home.
Be back later.
-
Just back from more than two hours of dance class. Who knew that those muscles in your back were meant to be used? Tomorrow morning will be a surprise. And not necessarily a good one.
-
It's really cold here. Not fun.
-
Starting to watch Idiocracy, which is really funny in its first 10 minutes.

-
Hello, everyone.
-
So glad to hear that both Singdaw and DN Sam are on the mend. Vibes for speedy and full recoveries.
-
I just watched DOWNTON ABBEY. It's a good thing Vixmom gave the characters
a piece of her mind such good guidance last night. Tonight they behaved, for the most part, admirably.
-

Yes, especially when one cannot get onto the site. (This afternoon.)
-
I hadn't even heard of GALAVANT. I don't think it's my sort of thing.
-
Everything is out of focus for me, too, and I didn't even have an eye exam.
:D

Just back from more than two hours of dance class. Who knew that those muscles in your back were meant to be used? Tomorrow morning will be a surprise. And not necessarily a good one.
I do know that feeling. A hot bath with Epsom salts will usually help.
-
Mr BK is indeed the most speediest of writers.
-
I must reserve a spot in my reading queue. A May publication date?
-
DR Chas, have you fully recovered or are you still coughing?
-
Vixmom may wish to look into Garcinia Cambogia or Irvingia. I found Irvingia to be helpful a couple years ago. Never really gave Garcinia a chance.
-
It was 80 degrees here today. 55 degrees just a couple days ago. I expect it'll turn cold again soon.
-
for dinner I had a lean cuisine meal consisting of squash ravioli and a salad of mixed greens with hemp seed hearts sliced mushrooms and raspberries with nonfat poppy seed dressing
I went to Subway for dinner. I had a ham, egg and cheese flatbread and it was very good.
-
Lovers of WHITE COLLAR will be happy to know that season 5 is now available on Netflix, both discs and streaming.
-
for lunch I had a cup of chicken soup
I went to Subway for dinner. I had a ham, egg and cheese flatbread and it was very good.
I didn't know Subway served flatbread. I've always avoided Subway because I thought it'd be too much bread.
-
I ate lunch at the place next door, Fast Taco. It's a little mom-and-pop place with very fresh, good food. They have a patio, too, and I lovvvve to eat outside.
-
And hi, George!
-
Good night.

Started watching Ozon's Young and Beautiful, which I think BK wrote about. It's a lot better than the first Nymphomania movie, which I couldn't get through a half hour of.
But I'll have to finish it tomorrow.

Good evening. I just caught the two feral teenage kittens that have been in my backyard for a couple of months. They get fixed tomorrow. Then I will let them go back in the yard to patrol for rodents.
