Well, you've read the notes, the notes brought back the pipe, and now it is time for you to post until the blowing on a pipe cows come home.

And the word of the day is: BILDUNGSROMAN!

Thanks for the continued good vibes. I am recovered sufficiently that I'm going to attempt to return to work today.

bk, very interesting about 'Meadowlark.' Of course, it's not the first nor last time that your arrangements have been "borrowed," large-scale and small. The other large-scale example I can think of is for the complete recording and subsequent Broadway revival of 110 in the Shade.
-
Sleeping in today would have been wonderful. :P
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
good morning to all
-
glad to hear dr singdaw is feeling better

Good morning, all! I will shortly depart for midtown. I have a morning at Tams-Witmark, and i hope i am out of there and on my way home by noon. I am looking forward to seeing friends there. When I get home, it's back to GENTLEMEN BE SEATED!
It took forever yesterday for the medication dilating my eyes to wear off; I don't think my eyes were focusing until some time after 4pm. I need new glasses, which I cannot afford at the moment, but perhaps the Encores! work on PAINT YOUR WAGON in the next couple of months will pay for a new pair after I've paid my accountant and the IRS and State anything I owe for 2014.

David, I worked for Harvey on that complete 110 In The Shade and know not what you mean.

Tuesday morning greetings! Today is Epiphany, which means 2 things - the Wise Men have arrived and tomorrow I can start undecking the halls.
-
From here at my desk, I'm watching it snow. It looks pretty, but I'm concerned that Rob is driving home from work on slippery roads. I think Mary Linda might be telecommuting today.

Yep. It's the 12th day of Christmas.
-
It's nice and cold today.
-
Good morning, all.
Coffee!
-
I walked out, found it was snowing, slipped a couple of times walking to Broadway, called Tams-Witmark and moved my date to Thursday. And to work.
-
Wise choice, DR Elmore! Rob is home, but Mary Linda has ventured out. She's an experienced winter-weather driver, but a lot of people here in SW Ohio are not.

Well, I know what I would LIKE to make a comeback, and that's CDs - maybe even a nice concept CD. As you all know, my car was totaled in October and I had to get a new used car. I ended up with a 2013 Mazda 2, and what I miss the most about my 2009 Nissan Versa is that it had a 5-CD changer in it. But apparently, no one listens to CDs anymore, so they don't make 5-CD changers anymore. So, for the holidays, my ever-lovin' Mark got me an IPod, which plugs into a USB port in my car. We've loaded several CDs (or playlists) onto it, but I tell you, it's not the same. First of all, I have to press a button to choose the "playlist" option every time I use it. Secondly, it doesn't jump from album to album - it just plays the same one over and over, and I have to press a Next button to get to the next playlist. And thirdly, the nifty feature my new car stereo has that increases or decreases the volume based on the speed of my car doesn't work with the USB port. Sigh...
Bruce, thank you so much for putting "I Know Things Now" into the show!
-
I watched "Galavant" last night, and it's definitely not my cup of tea. To quote an old movie, there's a fine line between clever and stupid.
-
Good morning. Feral kittens have been delivered to the vet.
-
I hope DR LAURA never finds me in her back yard.
-
I would like dressing up.....jackets and ties.....for weddings and graduations and funerals and dinners....to come back.
BREAKING NEWS: There is no such thing as a pair of DRESS jeans.
-
We got only about an inch of snow....so it's not too bad....some school delays but no closings....SNOWPOCALYPSE is a failure.
-
We're getting a light fine dusting right now. Temperature is 17!

Good morning, all, and Happy 12th Day of Christmas.

Anchovies, though they have never gone out of fashion at my house.

I was having trouble with the site loading so I had to change browsers.

DR Laura, good job catching the feral kittens. Have you seen the mother to catch?

How awful. The movie version is perfection. On Broadway it was bloated beyond belief...and the syntax is deplorable.

I'm glad Bryan doesn't have a far commute. He needs a new car but is waiting until after he is done with his residency.

This explains why the newer version of Keith's car only holds 1 CD vs the 5 he used to have. He prefers it though as the hard drive holds more. He has his music on a USB port that works directly with his car and doesn't need an iPad. He doesn't really use it like you used your CD player.
-
I have a one-CD player in my 2004 car.....I use it a lot driving back and forth to the theatre.....
It is very cold here, and the predictions are for sub zero temperatures for a couple of days. The snow wasn't so much.....but it's COLD!!!
-
Tres froid in Manhattan as well, though 21 degrees is not the same as the Midwest cold. My sisters and brothers have wind chills in the minus 30 to minus 40 range.
Speaking of siblings, my sister's second grandchild (my second grand niece) was born today. Here she is (Marlee) being held by her big sister (7 years old) Adara

I have read that the east coast will be slammed by arctic cold this week...with highs in the single digits in some places.
BRRRR-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R!
-
And then some...
-
Oh, and I have a cassette player in my car...
-
Oddly, we are just coming out of a cold snap. During my two weeks in South Carolina, the temps in Oakland were much cooler than they were in SC.
Today we are expecting record-breaking (for this time of year) temps in the low 70s.
-
I'm up, I'm up. Actually, I was up for most of the evening - maybe two or three hours of sleep. Tummy problems. Don't know if it was something I ate or maybe a touch of the stomach flu, but just could not sleep.
-
Had the meeting and must now dive in and futz and finesse so I can do the new writing.
-
It appears to be in the 60s and sunny outside.
Tomorrow's high will be in the 40s.
-
We're getting a light fine dusting right now. Temperature is 17!
Over the week, it's been getting warmer in southwest Washington. ::)

HOWEVER, this just happened in Hoquiam, yesterday:

Yesterday, my new router arrived. I plugged it in and used the quick setup guide. Unfortunately, half way thru these instructions, it stopped being written in any form of English that I could understand. An hour later, I figured out that I was totally scrooged!

At least, I can say I actually saw it on Broadway with Julie Andrews.

Oh, and I have a cassette player in my car...
I do, too. And a radio, but not a CD player or USB anything.
-
I called my friend who works as an I.T. for the state, who gave me the bad news -- that I would have to call tech support!

I am currently at the stage where I am about ready to switch Internet companies. I had hoped to wait until February to change, but perhaps this is a sign!

Either way, I will have no internet access at home this week, unless I can figure out where I went wrong.

I am currently sitting in a Forza Coffee shop, using their WIFI. I hate being unconnected.

One of my favorite shows, Masterchef Junior is returning tonight. I love this show I can't believe how well these kids can cook.
-
Nice new baby.....congrats to DR BEN & family.....
My brother in law has ROKU and says it's great.
MASTERCHEF JR is a show I don't like at all.....first of all they hire kid actors NOT kid chefs....and the kids receive a LOT of behind the scenes help in the preparation and plating of the meals....they do some chopping and stirring, but the real cooking is done by others.....it's the classic "reality" cheat.
-
DR TCB, we are in similar boats: my goddam Mac has crashed again and refuses to connect to the internet. Color me highly pissed.
-
Finished futzing and finessing, which took a while, then wrote two new pages, finished a chapter, and shall start a new chapter in a little while.
-
As soon as I posted that from my Macbook, my Mac decided to connect to the internet. I had restarted it three times and rebooted the modem four times. WTF?
It's working my last nerve.
-
I haven't seen a mother cat. These kittens suddenly showed up one day last summer. It's a good thing I caught them: they are both females.
-
Very sweet baby, Ben.
My birding buddy became a great grandmother the other day. She is over the moon.
-
DR Ben, Adara looks like a very proud big sister - congratulations to all!
-
DR Ben congratulations! Marlee is sweet and her big sister Adara is absolutely darling.

Very good that you caught them!
-
Only done about four or five pages so far but am into the new chapter and know where I'm going, so after dinner I'll write another six or seven for sure.
-
Tummy is still being weird, but I guess I'll try to eat in a while.

I don't believe that. You see them doing the cooking. Gordon Ramsey would not hire actors IMO.
-
I'm watching a 1943 Powell & Pressburger war effort film called THE VOLUNTEER, in which Ralph Richardson rather dashingly smokes a pipe.
-
Or a peep, as a particular Frenchman might be wont to say.

Is anyone watching Marvel's Agent Carter tonight?
-
Is anyone watching Marvel's Agent Carter tonight?
I plan to. I really like "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," so I expect to enjoy this, also.
-
Please forgive me, DR elmore3003. I remembered a story bk told about "Evenin' Star," but I fear now that it related only to the arrangement in the revival production (and recording), and not the complete recording. I guess I mixed that up in my mind.
-
We are only watching The Flash and not the other comic hero shows. We will watch Carter tonight.
-
DR George, I guessed if anyone was watching, it would be you :)

I haven't watched "The Flash." Maybe I should check it out. :)
-
If so, try and watch from the beginning. It isn't great television, more light entertainment :)

I wouldn't have expected anything else.

And on that note (F-natural), I'm off.
Be back later.
-
Great photo, Ben. For some reason, it didn't show up on my phone.
-
Site is very slow.
-
Did three hours of dance tonight. I hope it's getting better. I'm told it's getting better, but I really haven't a clue.
-
Page three?
-
If you see someone without a clew, give them one of yours.
-
Is anybody there?
Does anybody care?
Does anybody see what I see?
Which is no posts.
-
;D
-
I don't see no darn posts.
-
Back from dinner with Nick and his daughter Rebecca. Loads of fun. I ate a salad, a tiny think of cashew chicken, white rice and some Pad Thai. I was famished so it was all good and I just hope I'm not sick again later.
-
I am glad to be well enough to be back at work, but it's a tough slog getting back quickly to normal running speed.
-
"Sick Again Later" could be the title of something-or-other.
-
And voila! That little bit of nonsense nonetheless (that's one word) took us to page 4.
-
Busy day, but wanted to check in.

I don't know exactly what I've been doing. Work, tv trying to stay warm

My site crashed tonight. Thankfully, I was able to save my work in a word document.
-
Internet woes everywhere today. I haven't Ben able to get access at al on mt laptop and finally got on in my iPad which is autocorrecting everything so heaven knows what I will end up posting
-
Internet was very slow at my office today
-
But it's so cold here that everyone and everything was moving slow
-
The cold makes me feel invigorated. Got up early, cleared the driveway and walk before discovering it was -10
-
Of course I was so bundled up that I was actually very warm
-
This here site still feels a little spazzy to me.
-
But posts are going through quickly so I suppose it's fine.
-
Except that one - that one took way too long. Guess I'll contact them again.
-
I've done about nine pages so far. I'm logy and all this crap in my throat is playing havoc with my voice.
-
I'll try to do another two or three pages in a little bit. Then I may write the notes and schedule them and get to bed by eleven.
-
The site crashed on me about 20 minutes ago.
But my site came up again, so I was able to finish that post.
Oy.
Good night, all.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I'm up, I'm up. Actually, I was up for most of the evening - maybe two or three hours of sleep. Tummy problems. Don't know if it was something I ate or maybe a touch of the stomach flu, but just could not sleep.
I slept poorly, too. Something hit me just before going to bed last night and I had trouble sleeping. I thought I was OK this morning, aside from lack of sleep, but then around noon something hit me again--this time a stomach thing. My tummy's better now, but my sore throat is back. Oy. But I can deal with the sore throat better than the tummy thing.
-
I had plans for lunch with my friend Jan. I took something for nausea, then met her at the restaurant. We shared a veggie burger and each had a bowl of soup. That worked well and I felt better after eating.
-
Just relaxing for a bit before writing another page or two.
-
She came with me to my K-laser appointment. I wanted her to see the treatment, plus this doctor has an extensive background in neurology and Jan has some neurological problems, which her doctors haven't been all that successful at treating. My doctor spent a lot of time discussing her condition with her. She really liked him and said she'll be making an appointment. She's always been so healthy, but has really deteriorated in the last few years. I really hope she can make some improvement.
-
You have two lovely grand nieces, Ben. Congrats.

I'm really enjoying "Agent Carter."

The plot deals with a milk/dairy company called "Daisy Clover."

I keep thinking is Natalie Wood going to show up?

Good night.
-
Did a little over twelve pages and can finish the current chapter in the morning.
-
Thinking about a shower - took one in the morning, but think another might be nice right about now. I'm definitely going to Ny-Quil this evening.
-
Now, get me off this damn page.
-
There's a running gag through "Agent Carter" where there's a Captain America radio program and the "Betty Carter" on the radio program is helpless, but of course, the "real" Agent Carter isn't. And several times throughout the episode as she's beating up bad guys, the radio show is playing scenes where the Betty Carter is very stereotypically 1940s helplessly female.
-
I don't know from Agent Carter.
-
I do know from page five.
-
Will no one rid me of this meddlesome Agent Carter, which precludes people from posting?
-
I gotta tell you.
