I have a busy day today: I see my doctor at 10:15. This will be sad, since this will be the last time I see her before she leaves Manhattan to marry and relocate in Milwaukee. I can neither praise her enough nr express how much her departure saddens me. U'm sure it will be a teary visit ending with my doing something stupid like throwing myself on the floor, grabbing her ankles and begging her not to leave me.

The same with Facebook or any other site. I believe all that we can do is control to some degree what we wish others to see.

Thanks! Keep them vibes coming! Rob Berman informed me last night the first orchestra reading of Paint Your Wagon is Feb. 27, which gives me only a month to get the new parts together, once they decide what they want to do.

Well said, DR Elmore. When I used to teach Internet use and people would express concern about lack of privacy, I'd tell them that, as a print-era reference librarian, I could find out a lot about them. So, don't entirely blame technology, but be careful about what you give away.

We'd have to turn the clock back twenty years (to when the Internet went public), while retaining the knowledge we have now, to have any hope of undoing the damage to our individual and collective privacy.

Since that horse is out of the barn, the ship has sailed, and the train has left the station, I simply do the best I can at being judicious in where and what I post. I don't "do" Facebook or Twitter, so I feel my life is a little more peaceful than some. But I buy online and have done so since 1998, so there's that risk hanging out there.

I regret that there are vultures everywhere, ready to destroy personal lives and society itself. Of course they were always there, but the Internet is a weapon of mass destruction in their hands.

I have nothing to hide. I do like that the advertising I see is more directed to things I might actually want. I never get spam or see ads trying to sell me Viagra anymore, so that's nice. Regarding the monitoring of our phone calls, if that catches some terrorists before they kill more people, then I'm all for it.

Keeping with the privacy subject, I googled Susanna Tang. I found an MD, family practitioner/pediatrics, in Brooklyn and I found a Susanna Teng in NY who is an internist/ pediatrician.

Hmmm, wonder if either of these pediatricians will be DR elmore's new doctor ;)

If you clicked on it enough to see the form, you may want to run Malwarebytes or another program that can detect malware. It really works and Malware bytes has a free version that has caught things on my computers before

That was always the case it's just easier now. I don't like that the government has so much information. I see it all in the cases I defend and all the providers give it all up when asked. I almost think they have too much information for it to be useful. Sort of an information overload. I have the feeling it's more helpful to them after something happens rather than preventing something from happening.

I realize they really want it for advertising purposes, but it's a bit off putting. When I think about it I pay cash and keep my rewards card in my billfold

Post by: Michael on January 08, 2015, 07:26:08 PM: I just saw that Chita Rivera (being heralded as her "final" show)in The Visit will be arriving on Broadway on the last day to be eligible for The Tony Awards. The Kander/Ebb score (is this the last one or is there still one in the pipeline) probably will get nominated but I can't see how this show will have a life. The play is not a favorite of mine and they have been trying unsuccessfully to make a successfully musical of it. I saw call it a day and let Kander/Ebb be remembered for Cabaret and Chicago and a handful of other shows with great scores and not so good librettos. I have heard songs from a variety of sources and there is not one that I really like.

Of course this is just my opinion and it might become a classic.

By the same token, I'm glad to see the Visit is making it to Broadway, simply because it's a Kander and Ebb piece. I haven't much of an opinion of the few songs I've heard from it, other than they didn't stick with me.

I'm sure it will be recorded, though. Kander's score for The Landing was supposedly recorded, too, but has it ever been released?

They said that resurfacing allows you to return to playing sports, and other physical activities.
