The lyrics are, of course, "It was an itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini, that she wore for the first time today."

But what they sang was: "She wore an itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini, that she wore for the first time today."

Post by: George on January 28, 2015, 12:02:07 AM: The synopsis for "Night Will Fall" on the IMDb listing (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3455822/reference) is "Researchers discover film footage from World War II that turns out to be a lost documentary shot by Alfred Hitchcock and Sidney Bernstein in 1945 about German concentration camps."

Within the first 15 minutes, they're showing some of the film that was shot, and it includes shots of many dead bodies...up close and without sugar-coating any of it. It's shows what I have never seen in most documentaries or movies. You really can't deny any of it after seeing this. :(

The concert celebrated liberation, so while there were dark elements, it started and ended in hope, after traveling through the central portion of the program.

They are closing the schools. They are telling people to stay home and not drive their cars. People are running to the supermarket to stock up on food. Flights are being cancelled.

It's not my favorite film noir. That honor goes to OUT OF THE PAST, but it is still certainly one of the great ones.

Also on the set was the 1973 television remake, which I'd never seen. It starred Richard Crenna, Samantha Eggar and Lee J. Cobb, who was terrific in the Edward G. Robinson role. But, after 30+ minutes, I turned it off. The movie itself was :P

The depression has landed, and I stayed in bed as long as I could. I finally dragged myself out of bed because i have obligations and I clearly inherited my dad's work ethic. Dr Slingshot, I don't know how you coped several years ago when you wee unemployed for so long. You were fortunate at least to have one person in the household still working.

So, I will continue on the Encores! job and hope that either the phone rings with wrk offers or the news that that damned Ohio property has sold.

I do remember that. My last round of being unemployed, thanks to someone at PSClassics, lasted from 1991 to 1993, when BK offered me a job. I was pretty sure that I'd have some sort of steady part-time work after July 2014, and it didn't happen.

Some cope better than others, and I do try to keep busy. That doesn't always keep the dragons from creeping in and terrifying me.

Paramount, probably. I shot on back lot sets at Disney and Warners, and at the Paramount ranch.

We visited until about noon and then I went over to Target to shop some for me and some for Mom. Delivered her items and came home about 3pm. Now I have one more AAUW thing to do before gearing up to leave for Chicago day after tomorrow.

Then I agree with DR Jennifer, I hope the Vixter had some help. Our first winter in Massachusetts when Keith traveled I basically shoveled. The second winter the neighbors knew Keith was in Pennsylvania as we were moving there. I figured out I could stand outside with the shovel, not really doing anything, and a neighbor would rescue me with their snow blower. We had a little one but there was a lot of snow that year and it shouldn't remove the high pile of snow that the men doing the street would leave in front of our driveway.

The boys were at school and I was home alone watching the takeoff. I called Keith at work in shock. I watched the news for awhile and then turned it off. The summer before we belonged to a swim club and they had an astronaut show a film and speak. Until the explosion they both talked about being astronauts, especially Bryan.

I was sitting here trying to meet a deadline for Cole Porter's Jubilee. That seems sooooo much longer than 29 years.

I was pacing the floor with a fussy baby. It was a long time ago - Rob's lifetime.

The boys were at school and I was home alone watching the takeoff. I called Keith at work in shock. I watched the news for awhile and then turned it off. The summer before we belonged to a swim club and they had an astronaut show a film and speak. Until the explosion they both talked about being astronauts, especially Bryan.

I was a junior in high school and ready to walk into biology class.

As you pointed out, I also had another person in the house with income coming in. And, finally, I had the dubious honor(??) of being out of work at the height of the wrecked economy, so unemployment was extended at that point far beyond the length of time that it normally pays. And I am very, very grateful for every one of those mitigating factors.

I came in with seven or eight steps I knew I wanted for sure and one of my actors is a wonderful dancer, so I showed her and we just built the number together - took two hours but it's really good. Then did a couple more scenes and one more number. So we're down to the last seven pages and two musical numbers. That means on Friday I can begin assembling the show.

While waiting I was watching the coverage of the liftoff The furnace man arrived just as it was about to go and he asked if in minded if he watched before he started work. I said no and he sat on the couch beside me Once we realized what had happened we were holding hands both of us crying staring at the tv in disbelief. After a it he fixed the boiler while I made tea for us and we had acup to calm our nerves before he had to head out to his next job. I don't think we ever even exchanged names

When I got back down the mountain, I discovered that the owner and publisher of the paper had been arrested with his best friend as well as the head of the local radio station. They had been caught filming a porn flick with a local lady of the evening. It was something the man was known for, but he wouldn't let us publish his arrest in the paper. He called in a huge amount of favors with local bigwigs and somehow the charges got dropped against the other two guys while his charge was reduced to a single misdemeanor count of solicitation.

He sold the paper a few months after that.
