Well, you've read the notes, the notes were previewed, and now it is time for you to post until the previewed cows come home.

Tonight is Beethoven's 9th. Parking can be a problem. We're going with two other friends; we're thinking of trying Uber for the first time.

Isn't Perfect Crime the show where the leading lady who has done it for 20 years also the producer, ticket seller, sells the drinks and not sure but might be also the director and writer?

Title: Re: THE FIRST PREVIEW
Post by: Michael on February 13, 2015, 04:46:53 AM
Now yesterday.

I got up extra early (for me) and got to the hospital early so I could do it and turn around and go to work.
You'd think drawing a couple of vials of blood wouldn't take too long.

WRONG!!!!

They couldn't decide how much I needed to pay up front since they said that CIGNA (my insurance) doesn't pay for it. I had called the previous day to find out and was told that it did.

So they finally figured that I had to pay $16 for the drawing of the blood. That was waiting for about a hour to find that out. I paid it and went to the clinic.

You'd everything was OK?
WRONG! They wouldn't draw it because the lab who does the testing needed to be paid.

Now remember it is just two small vials of blood.

At first they want to charge me $1600 for the test.
I said speak to the lady who arrange for it because she knew all about it. I did not want to wait another hour until she came to work for the day.

After another 30 minutes they found out the cost and I went back downstairs to pay it.
It was now $600.

I have all the paperwork and will submit it to CIGNA and get some of my money back.

As I was going back to the clinic a nurse got into the elevator who remembered me from January when I had my allergic reaction to the calcium infusion test and ended up in the ER.

Went back to the clinic and finally had the blood drawn.

How long did that take?

Two minutes and I was out of there but the whole process took two hours.

And I made back to work on time.

And I should know the results next week.

Hopefully it will tell what my doctor has been looking for.

I relaxed and let myself fall a little behind on my programming of SHE LOVES ME this past week, and want to get through the rest of Act II today.  Then I'll have all day tomorrow to, you know, actually "practice" (imagine that!) playing the sucker with all the patch changes, and tweak things as needed.  Sunday is our first rehearsal, and I do look forward to hearing us all work on it in spite of the sorry orchestration.

The person or persons who arranged and notated these keyboard books could retire to the farm and create a nice job opening for someone with a little more love and respect for the material, methinks.  And the folks at MTI could employ a proofreader/copy editor while they're at it.

Good morning, all!  I got some sleep, thank you, God! I was like a zombie the entire day.  I need to call Joshie and check on him.  He was in a terrible mood yesterday.  Then I have a list of new PAINT YOUR WAGON fixes to get to before the 27th reading. That will occupy most of my weekend and most of next week as well.

At this moment I have nothing else to report.

That makes my little mix up giving blood this morning seem like nothing.  I called yesterday to confirm my order was in and what it was for.  I was told yes.  I got there and part of my order was missing and thyroid tests, which I had done in December, were added.  Apparently I needed all of the tests, including the thyroid.  I did not have to give them money to run the tests.  I might later but not now.

Whereas some of us have been as good as locked out most of the day.  Is it affecting people differently in different areas?  This is the first time since I last posted (mid-afternoon? - I don't dare go look and take a chance on losing this page!) that I've been able to load a full page to read responses, let alone actually make one myself.

When this happens, it seems like there must be more to it than a server that's got too much on its plate.  Like, something affecting connectivity or routing to and from the outside world.  (Note how I spout these things like I know what the HELL I'm talking about.)    :)

Cillaliz - I really admire the work that you do. I have enjoyed working with non-citizens of different immigration statuses in my new job, and learning about their issues and challenges.

Thanks. And I think it's great that you are working with immigrants and helping them with the insurance stuff.
I'm sure you've met some wonderful people and heard some fascinating stories.  I really love that part of my work

We used Uber for the first time this evening. It worked well and quite seamlessly. I would definitely use it again. And it didn't hurt that I found a new user $20 credit voucher on the Internet.

It's the old federal criminal work that was causing me such distress this week. It's a long story, but I feel like I was stabbed in the back and am REALY done with that work after I finish the two cases I have.  It started a week or so ago, but yesterday was the last straw.  I took some steps to get put an end to getting more of the court appointments from fed ct.  I think that's part of the reason I felt so much better today.

It is fun to see your ride approaching using your smart phone screen. Since we had a party of 4, we requested a driver with an SUV, which worked great.

Bob has been told to stop me from getting  back into this mess again if I ever even toy with the idea in the future

I would be more comfortable trying Uber with a party of 4 than by myself

Well, it's not yet been officially announced, but will NOT have to go to call-backs tonight...because I don't think that there will be any!! :D

An official announcement will be announced when official. ;)

It's officially official!  I have been cast as Craig in "Laughing Stock" for Olympia Little Theatre!  We open March 27 and play through April 19.  I've never acted there before, only done tech.  It'll be really different but fun.

Back from a great final preview.  And apparently someone rushed home and gave us a five-star review on Goldstar - this person came up to me after the show - he's a big fan of my theater directing work - saw Pure Imagination several times and Li'l Abner twice.

Featured review from Dennis Trigubetz

Although the Friday show was a preview I can safely say director Bruce Kimmel has another hit. This Doug Haverty/Adryan Russ musical is witty, both in dialogue and song. Of the six amazingly talented cast members, Sandy Bainum and Leslie Stevens particularly stand out. I will be back for at least one more performance as there is so much to take in.
