Well, you've read the notes, you know why the notes and the change of topic were late, and now it is time for you to post until the late cows come home.

Good morning, all! I'm a little down this morning; it's the eighth anniversary of my dad's death. Who'd think I'd still be waiting for my idiot brothers to sell a piece of property after all this time. My memories of that last week with him in Ohio, because of the terrible weather, are how quiet Randy's and Jo's house was, sitting at Jo's computer and posting each event to all of you, and sitting beside him and waiting for the blade to fall.

Well, it's hard to be an orphan at 60.

DR Cillaliz, did the program credit me for that orchestration of "Feed the Birds"? I'm sure it was mine, but she was so difficult about paying me for the work in 2007 that for all I know she's now using another arrangement.  I'm happy that it sounded good and that you had a great time.

How was Geoff?

Just balanced 2 checkbooks - mine and Mom's.  Balancing Mom's is very satisfying because it was a mess when I took possession of it 2 months ago.  She hadn't been entering her automatic deposits and withdrawals and I finally have it the way I think a checkbook should be.  Online access helps...

The program just said "Musical numbers will be announced from the stage"  or something like that.  And they really didn't announce much other than giving background on some of the songs or saying "This was my grandmother's favorite" without saying what the song was (it was "I'll Be Seeing You" if that's the title).   So, no, you weren't credited, but neither was anyone else.

Geoff was wonderful.  He did a couple songs himself and then they did two or three duets which was a lot of fun

I'm back.  I was a fun concert, but then it always is.  We have a small but loyal following.  Seriously, every concert is a fundraiser for a nonprofit.  This was just to get lights for the auditorium.  Not a big cause on a cold cold day.   Next time it's for the Humane Society.  I bet we'll have a better turn out for that one.   Truth be told, I just enjoy playing.

DR ELMORE when it got to be 19 degrees, I went outside and my car started.  I was letting it idle for a few minutes, when my brother Kent came by.

He had seen my post on Facebook.

He had a handy, dandy tool that cleaned the battery posts, and there was some blue stuff on one of them.  So he did that for me.  I think it is fine now.

We shall see tomorrow.....which is President's Day AND my first day of rehearsal for ANTIGONE.

From DR Vixmom:
Quote
Jane why are you planning on selling this home that you so clearly love and have spent so much time and effort to make perfect

For a new adventure???  We hope we are not making a mistake.  The decision is getting us to clean out and finish putting the house in order.  If we don't sell we will enjoy it even more, but what a pain to put it in order.

My cousin invited us to join he and his wife on a trip to China.  I truly wanted to go.  When we declined as the trip would interfere with getting the house on the market, even though we hadn't decided yet.  I suppose we had to justify not taking the trip and actually go ahead and get the house ready to sell.  It is interesting that little invite could change the course of our lives  :D

I hope we get through the evening.  From what I'm now being told, a piece of equipment at the data center has been malfunctioning.  They're getting the replacement tomorrow and our guy is going down there to personally configure it and install.  Once that happens we should be fine.  It's not just us, it's all the sites they host.  This is the part of the Internet I loathe.

~~~Vibes!!~~~
I managed to make a page in the winter 2015 Miami University alumni magazine.
Congrats, Larry!  Hope it leads to many opportunities!
the big SNL 40 is tonight.  I'm recording it, not sure I want to watch the whole thing.  And I'm very anxious to watch Downton tonight
I'm watching it now.  I didn't get home until about 8:10, so I missed the beginning.  It's supposed to be three and a half hours long, but the rebroadcast on Friday is scheduled for only three hours.
Louis Jourdan has died.  A long life, he was 93, but he'll always be Gaston in GIGI for me.
I'd just read that when I checked my e-mail.  Wow...93.  And he had been married to his wife for more than 60 years!  She died just last year.
Kismet has recovered. He has to wear a cone so he won't lick. He hates wearing it. Just wants to be snuggle next to me.
Very good news, Mike!
I used to see Louis Jourdan all the time at Virgin Records on Sunset.  He always looked great.
BK, I have a question.  Is your play "Deceit" available for amateur groups to do?  I loaned my DVD to a friend and he really likes it. :)
So, I was just perusing YouTube after reading a FB thread about Grand Hotel and "We'll Take a Glass Together" on the Cast Recordings group.  I wanted to find Jason Graae's version (found it HERE (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xk2mCb9c-M)), but in the search results was this version from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade that was just posted to YouTube last September...it's Michael Jeter and David Carroll!  I never knew that David Carroll had ever done this song on TV!  HERE (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTbWru3i8o4) is that link. :D
