Well, you've read the notes, the notes were in time and took up space and had good continuum, and now it is time for you to post until the continuum cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: OOLOGY!
-
First after BK!

On a tax season Saturday.

Re the TOD:
One of my favorite lesser-known songs, and I think my favorite Harold Rome song
Sitting On Your Status Quo from Pins and Needles (Streisand recording)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjyyLcVnN9M
-
"You can't stand still on freedom's track
If you don't go forward, you go back
You can't giddy-up by saying whoa
And sitting on your status quo"
Harold Rome's words seem very relevant to today, somehow.
-
Wonderful that DR Ann dropped in last night. Hope Ann and Jed will pop in when they have time.
-
Good morning!

Thanks, FJL! One of my favorites too.

Enjoyed the photos your shared yesterday, DR Jrand64.

I know that "mic" and "mics" are accepted shorthand for "microphone" and "microphones." But somehow, they just never look right to me. So I usually go out of my way to avoid the shorter versions.

Meanwhile, in Point Reyes, California:

I thought they were recreating a scene from BULLETS OVER BROADWAY
Helen Sinclair: No, no, don't speak. Don't speak. Please don't speak. Please don't speak. No. No. No. Go. Go, gentle Scorpio, go. Your Pisces wishes you every happy return.
David Shayne: Just one...
Helen Sinclair: Don't speak.

TOD:
Irving Berlin
"God Bless America"
"Let Me Sing and I'm Happy," whcih I wanted to use in my Al Jolson play, but couldn't get the rights.

Last my mother and I attended passover services and dinner with 1,000 of our dearest and closest friends.
I would like to share a video from my iPhone on HHW.
How does one do that?

Here is part of the room from a image I uploaded to Facebook

Tonight is Passover dinner #2
This time with only 8 people
That's a come down after last night.
We were the "2" of the 1002 people who were there last night.
-
I am so glad we went dutch and didn't have to pay for everyone else.
-
I have to work today and then come a get ready for sedar #2
-
I'll be cooking slaving over a hot microwave oven

Really enjoyed Jrand's photos posted yesterday!
-
Thanks for the comments on the photos.
DR MIKE - I share a video by posting it to YouTube and then posting the link here.
-
Good morning, all.
A decent sleep, with a set of interesting dreams, the last one involving Jerry Lewis coming into the room where I'd been sleeping to fix something or other.
Coffee!

TOD:
I don't know a lot of Harold Rome songs, but I like a few from DESTRY RIDES AGAIN.

Good morning, all! I slept late again and had plenty of strange dreams. I only remember the last: childhood friend and I were helping a lady in Oxford, Ohio. I had moved back into the apartment where I lived between 1970 and 1971.
I have very little to accomplish today, so I think I will lounge about. If I get my energu up, I may make that market trup I postponed yesterday.
-
DR JRand64, the photos were great. More, please.
-
Saturday morning greetings! In an hour or so we'll head north to Ottawa (Ohio, not Ontario) to visit niece Rev. Amy and her family at their new home and to take them out for lunch. From 5-7 this evening Fr. Richard will preside over Silence in the Cathedral while I enjoy Basketball in the Fairfield Inn.

Re: Costco I was just going to say that here they no longer require American Express (which was stupid to only allow AE).
-
April weather joke here. :(
Yesterday it was the warmest it has been (50s-60s). i went biking for the first time. But today there is snow. Yuck, yuck, yuck. At least by next Friday the weather should start being warm all the time (50+ each day).\
I do not want to see anymore snow!
-
Re: Costco I was just going to say that here they no longer require American Express (which was stupid to only allow AE).
"Require"?
Edit: The second part of that is correct. My understanding was that they limited the number of credit cards accepted to keep costs and selling prices down. What's interesting is that for most regular retailers, AE is the first one to go because of their higher fees to the stores. So they must have made quite the deal with Costco originally.
-
Thanks DR ELMORE - I will post more when I get them.
-
TOD: Harold Rome:
South America, Take it Away
"Wish You were Here"
"Fanny" (the music is so lovely)
-
Sorry to have dropped out so abruptly last night I fell asleep
-
Now I must get things done and shop foe Easter dinner
-
Happy Passover
-
I'm up, I'm up - I suppose I'll jog when she of the Evil Eye arrives - and she just did.
-
Keep sending excellent vibes and xylophones for voice and body health.
-
I did do Ny-Quil last night - that stuff really makes me so groggy when I get up. I fell asleep at one, was up for about ten minutes during the night, then slept until eight-thirty - so a little over seven hours, I guess.
-
Good morning. I got up very early to watch the eclipse.
-
At my DH's request, I do not use a debit card to shop. So I use cash at Costco. It keeps me from making impulse buys.
-
TOD:
Harold Rome-
"Welcome Home" (from FANNY)
-
Good health vibes for MR BK.
-
Perhaps it is only apocryphal that on night's when Florence Henderson's understudy went on in that Harold Rome show, she was heard to remark: "Tonight they will be applauding my Fanny."

From DR TCB:
During the first few minutes of KILLING JESUS, I have learned that Jesus looked to be about two years old when he was born.
;D

Darn, I missed Ann last night.

Before here the only credit card you could use was American Express.

From DR Vixmom:
In ny you normally give vacant possession on the day of closing and generally it takes 60 to 90 days from signing of contract until closing. It's sounds as. If things work much differently in Oregon
I can't recall the time periods from contract to closing in other states. I'm pretty sure they all varied a bit, and often due to a date the buyers wanted in. I think we have rented back, or had the sellers rent back to us, for a few days. This time the buyers offered us one month free rent and the option to rent back for 3 months at a decent amount. We don't really want to hang around once it is no longer ours and have told them we will only need the first month.
With closing not happening too often in recent years it seems to be more common to rent back for longer periods after closing to find a new place to live. No way are we going to pack up our home before we close. Two homes near us that recently sold both had long rental back periods before moving out.
-
DR TCB I am glad your Nicky is home.
-
From DR Laura:
I buy very little at a time at Costco because I shop with cash. I have to make sure I don't go over the amount I have with me. I refuse to get an American Express card.
They will be dropping American Express April 1, 2016 and switching to Visa.
-
I see DR George already mentioned that fact, though I did add the date ;)
-
We prefer using American Express but Visa will be ok, if we are still Costco members.
-
Back from a jog, poached eggs on an English muffin and buying some pants at Jos Bank. I will be writing about clothes in tomorrow's notes.
-
We are back from a lovely visit with Rev. Amy, her husband Ken, and their 3 delightful children - Nathan, 10; Timothy, 7; and Rachel, 2. The boys gave us a great tour of their new house, including where they store their extra paper towels. We then went into town for lunch, where I had a yummy taco salad.
-
Hello, everyone.

I always want to pronounce it "mic" instead of "mike," even though I know it's "mike."

I suspect DR Chas is correct. Costco operates on very, very small profit margins; indeed, most of their profit comes from the membership fees. I don't recall why they were unhappy with AE, and, of course, they don't say too much publicly.
-
Need to get a few things done.
TTFN.

Now, a nap.

Later this evening, a rehearsal and an Easter vigil service.

I couldn't remember when it was supposed to switch. I don't have an American Express. I only have Visa, so this (for me) is a good thing.
-
Thanks DR JEANNE.
I look forward to reading about CLOTHES in tomorrow's note, since I am such a fashion plate.
LOL....DR ELMORE.....I'll be here all week.
-
Well, I must be off soon. I have a few things to do before "Laughing Stock" tonight. One of the actors is hosting a cast party at his house, so that'll be fun.
-
Also, tomorrow is the first anniversary of Theater Artists Olympia's signing of our lease for The Midnight Sun (our very own performing space)! I'm on their board of directors. They are also having a celebration after tonight's performance of their show, "In a Dark, Dark House."
-
So, after "LS" ends and before I go to our party, I'm going to stop by The Midnight Sun and celebrate with them because I can and should. I KNOW that they will still be partying, even though their show ends an hour before "LS."
-
The "LS" party will be going on for quite a while, so I don't have to worry about missing that party. It's going to be a long and fun night tonight!
Have a good day, all!
-
Stumble-through in about twelve minutes. Then food. Then relaxation.
-
Back from my afternoon limp and am icing again. Does butterscotch icing sounds good?
-
Good afternoon, all.

Good evening!
-
Well, I'm now a "member" of Costco.
-
I thought I'd better get tires before my drive to BWI (Baltimore-Washington International Airport) next Saturday. And Costo had a great deal on tires.
-
Stumble-through went well, although I felt everyone was a little under their game - I prefer that, as they will step it up for the show. We've had stumble-throughs that were so great that the show was a bit of a let down, so I'd rather have it go the other way. I gave lots of little notes - tempo, intention, interpretation, energy, etc. Most notes went to two of the kids - Jenna and Sami - I usually do that and then they're both great about taking notes and making them work. Sami's two songs, especially, are difficult, one because it's wordy and manic and the other because it's simple and you can't put too much sauce on it as she was today. Structure is good and I'm looking forward to doing it.
-
I also bought a giant container of cashews. Not sure how long they'll stay fresh once I open it. Maybe I should take some to share with my co-workers.
-
It's going to seem strange --no Suze Orman on Saturday nights anymore!
-
I also did my taxes online, using TAX ACT.
-
Well, darn, Michigan State is out...
-
I managed a second walk tonight and am very happy.
-
Back from a ham and Swiss and a small thing of onion rings.
-
I shall now relax a little, but really, page three?
-
FOUR
-
Ginny, sorry about the outcome of the basketball game.
-
Ginny, sorry about the outcome of the basketball game.
Thanks, DR TCB. Now I'm counting on Wisconsin to carry the Big 10 banner...

It's different in Canada. I think it happened on January 1st 2015. No more American Express. Now it's Mastercard.
-
I don't know why I keep renewing my Costco membership, I haven't been able to shop there since I ended up in the wheelchair.
-
Yes, Wisconsin!
-
Is anyone here ordering the release of the 1975 London cast recording of JACK THE RIPPER?
-
I managed to go ten minutes between coughing spells!
-
Believe me, that is progress.
-
Now that I am on the mend, I am able to remember the good parts of the cruise.
-
The weather was wonderful for the entire cruise.
-
It was between 75 and 85 every day.
-
The seas were amazingly calm.
-
The only rough weather we had was on the last night out, coming into Florida waters
-
It also rained on us that last night.
-
But by the time we cleared customs, the sun was shining again.
-
We had two ideas on how to spend our day in Florida.
-
Our first idea was to drive down to South Beach.
-
Unfortunately, there was some big music festival with over 100,000 people, so we were told to avoid the area.
-
Our back up plan was to lounge around the pool and finish off our tans.
-
BUT, they had two weddings going on that day, including one wedding and the reception being held by the pool
-
And since I didn't bring a wedding present, the pool was closed to us.
-
We had strike one and strike two, so after going out to brunch, we spent the rest of the day watching college basketball.
-
I know, I know; but remember I was not well.
-
It was probably the best way to spend the day.
-
Grand Turk was an interesting little island.
-
They have built a little village of shops right at the pier, so you don't even have to go into the rest of the island.
-
And that wasn't even the private Holland America island!
-
What day is this ?
-
Is this Saturday or Sunday?
-
Page 5!
-
Well, I guess that is progress.
-
Why is everyone out and about tonight?
-
I guess it is Saturday.
-
We've got a bunch of party animals at this site.
-
I forgot that this is Passover.
-
And tomorrow is Easter for those of that persuasion.
-
The weather forecast says that we may slip by with just a few brief showers tomorrow.
-
I guess I should have gotten something to make myself for dinner tomorrow.
-
Well, it isn't like the stores will be closed.
-
I can probably run up to Safeway tomorrow morning and find something to cook.
-
Maybe I will boil some eggs tomorrow and pretend that I am going to color them.
-
And after I pretend to color them, I eat can just them.
-
I really do love hard-boiled eggs.
-
But I never think to make them.
-
I wonder if you can make hard boil eggs in a microwave?
-
There must be a way. Hmmmmm!
-
I will have to look it up on the internet.
-
There doesn't seem to be anyone hear. What, is everyone off painting Easter eggs?
-
Apparently!
-
Maybe they are off hiding the Easter eggs for tomorrow.
-
Well, everyone better get OFF their damn eggs and get some postin' goin' on.
-
I am doing the best that I can.
-
You are da man!
-
All others are WUSSBURGERS.
-
An epidemic of WUSSBURGERS.
-
WUSSBURGERS for days with relish.
