Title: EARLY EASTER AND THE CONUNDRUM OF CLOTHING
Post by: bk on April 05, 2015, 12:05:02 AM
Well, you've read the notes, the notes were early and wore clothing two sizes bigger than the notes' usual size, and now it is time for you to post until the Easter cows come home.

Well, I just got home from the "Laughing Stock" cast party about 15 or so minutes ago.  I did stop off at the party for TAO's first anniversary in our own space and that was nice.  They told me that they had had a good house for their show, so that was even better.  Being their treasurer, I took the money made from their performances this weekend and will add it to the monies from last weekend's performances and deposit said monies in the bank on Monday. :)

I do not go much by the sizes on the clothes.....I just try on what seems about right, and then go from there.

I wear waist size 38-40.....but in some pants, I have to go up to a 44" waist, and yes it is depressing.

Good morning, all!  Another, and last, sleep-late day.  Romoeeoq, I am back to City Center and ZORBA.

I had several dreams, the last was a trip t Lndon. While I was waiting for the plane, i ran ntomy goddaughter Charlotte whi was going to London as well.  She had no place to stay, so I asked her to stay with me, and we ended up n this rambling maze of a building. I remember she was checking out acting schools and i was looking for a camera. I went into a bookshop and got caught up in a musical number - I kid you not - led by the shop's owner.

Then, in another dream, still in London, Charlotte was gone and I was with my evil brother Macbeth.  there was all this tsuris about changing currency and a bank trip, and trains and buses. At the end of the dream, I was waiting for my brother on some street next to a small park and my bag was stolen and I ended up running down some street after the thief, who was stopped by a taxi driver.

In my younger days I used to attend the local Presbyterian church's sunrise service at the lakeside  (which was actually held at sunrise about 6 am) before attending the traditional service at 8:45 at my own Lutheran congregation

Easter afternoon greetings!  We are home after what seemed like a week rather than a long weekend in Lima.  We picked up fried chicken and trimmings for lunch.  After we ate, I played Easter bunny and filled the 4 baskets on the piano.  We'll have Easter "morning" when Rob wakes up.  He worked 8pm-8am, then went to church with Mary Linda.  He was just ready to crash when we got here.

Ah, clothing sizing. I think a lot has to do with manufacturers outsourcing to various foreign countries. There's no consistency in sizing or styles or much of anything.

I've been buying polo shirts--I looovvve polo shirts--from Lands' End for many, many years. A couple years ago i ordered some after not having done so for a while. I ordered SMALL. They were much smaller than usual. My weight does fluctuate a bit, but I didn't really think it was me. The next time I ordered MEDIUM. Would you believe that my new MEDIUMs were actually  SMALLER than the old Lands' End polos that were marked SMALL? Some serious resizing had taken place. I do wish retailers would inform their customers, particularly when it's mail-oder.

DR TCB - does Nicky yowl when being transported by car?  All of the cats that I have had simply detested riding in the car, and vocally let all within earshot know it.

Oh yes, Nicky yowls the whole time he is in the carrier, let alone in the car.  I thought about getting him some throat lozenges when we got home.  I imagine he had a sore throat.  I don't know which he hates more, the carrier or the car.

I thought Nick might be okay since it was me driving him home.  That didn't work the way I had hoped.  He has been yowling off and on every day.  I guess he is just trying to let me know that he is pissed at me.

Washington State is a lovely place to live!

And Tacoma is rated very high.  I am been searching this subject.

I will keep my fingers crossed.

Sorry, we don't want to go that far into Washington.  If we move there is will be closer to the border.

Did I miss an announcement on where Jane and Keith are moving?  Any truth in the rumor that they will be living in BK's garage on a temporary basis?

You did not miss an announcement as we haven't a clue.  I missed the offer of the garage.  We have had a couple of other offers that are more appealing than a garage :)

DR Elmore's fire escape?

Too, too far away ;D

Damn! I want to watch WOLF HALL but it isn't broadcast until 10:00.  I'll be unconscious by them. I have to be up early for along day out and about.

DR KevinH, that musical number even amazed me in the dream itself.  It was a real WTF moment.

I would like someone to please film Elmore's dreams I think it would be a very entertaining series.  In fact  I think it should vibe a weekly series. I think it has to be on PBS because the references are too highbrows for commercial tv

It does work out well. We live only a couple of miles away so transport is not a problem
I prep rep as much  as possible so that when I get there it is really just a matter of popping things in the stove and then we can visit while it all cooks

Dinner at my parents' was nice.  For our dessert, my mom made a pound cake (from scratch) and we had strawberries and whipped cream.  We also played Phase 10 and I lost...not the first time, nor will it be the last time.
