Well, you've read the notes, you know all about Kritzerland at Sterling's 56, and now it is time for you to post until the 56 cows come home.

Good morning, all!  I have too much to do this morning, so I am up early.  I cannot stop yawning.

I remember only one dream: Miami University, 1970, playing an old harmonium for a student-directed oneact. It was neither a strange mashup of times and people nor a nightmare of whatever's jerking my string.

So, I have to see my accountant first thing over a piece of mail from the NY State Dept of Taxation, then spend time with Joshie and ZORBA, and - not yet set - possibly do some proofreading for the Duck Dynasty musical.  First preview is this Thursday.

So sorry to read of the passing of cabaret and stage artist extraordinaire, Julie Wilson.

She certainly had a way with a song, and in later years was a mentor to so many.

That was one of 3 things I wanted to watch at 10pm last night.  The other 2 were BATTLE CREEK on CBS and WOLF HALL on PBS (although I found the book a real slog).  But about 9:55, Rob and Mary Linda came downstairs for a visit and that took priority, of course.

I am home from City Center; I proofread new scores for "Life Is" and "The First Time," and brought home some work to do tonight.

Nothng wrked according to schedule this morning: I got off the 104 bus at Lincoln Center to refill my Metrocard and transfer to the No. 7 bus to get to Toyland.  After waiting more than 20 minutes, no 7 bus showed up.  According to the schedule, there should be one every 10 minutes.

So I decided tp go to City Center instead and maybe hit Toyland tomorrow morning, crossed Broadway for the 104 bus, and waited another 20 minutes for that bus! WTF?

Clearly, something was screwed up uptown and no buses could get through.  Perhaps terrorist activity.

Here's my Julie Wilson tale.  I was at a dinner party once - me, Jason Graae, Judy Blazer, Charles Busch and probably a couple of others, at Barry Kohn's in NY.  Julie was at the head of the table - we all had a really funny time and she was just magical.  This was probably around 1996 or so.  It was a wonderful evening.  Flash forward to maybe a decade later - saw her at the Gardenia.  I spoke to her after the show and said, "You probably won't remember" and before I could get another word out she said, "Of course I do - that wonderful dinner party."  And five years after that same thing.  She couldn't remember a lyric by then but she sure remembered who I was, which I thought was amazing.

I once carried Julie Wilson's luggage for her.  I knew her accompanist William Roy, who died far too early.  I ran into her on the 14th Street subway stop and she was heading home from a workshop/reading she'd done. I rode with her to 72nd Street, and we chatted about friends and work.  At 72nd Street I carried her luggage up to the street for her. This must have been 25 years ago or more

Speaking of Easter cards,  I received one it today's mail.  Only problem--nothing written inside the card.  No postmark since it was a Hallmark card with prepaid postage.  No return address.  I thought it was my friend Mike's writing.  I texted him. He said that he hadn't sent it.  I talked to him later and he remembered that he had.

Funny.

I had a nice walk with Keith and now I'm trying something different.  I'm soaking my foot in epsom salt to see if that will reduce the swelling.

Good afternoon. We had a disappointing day at the river; there was so much trash left by yesterday's partiers. The birds left, too.

I had a crazy afternoon.  I ordered a nice try of small sandwiches on rolls to take to the service today for my friend.  I did this with two other people and pre-paid for it so one of those people could pick it up.  I needed to collect the other person who uses a walker.

About 20 minutes before I was leaving I received a call from the person picking up the tray to tell me she was sick.  I was out of here in 5 minutes and rushed over to hurry along the friend I was picking up.  While driving to the market to collect the food tray she called and asked for it to be ready.  It was ready, however, they apparently hadn't charged it.  By the time we were heading to the service it I was very concerned I would not find parking near by.  Between the walker and my limping....I was extremely relieved to get the last parking spot.  Still it took 10 minutes to walk across the street to the church.

I love the Julie Wilson stories. I never got to see her perform, but I do have a few of her CDs. The last two that I bought were used, and Wilson had autographed the booklets.

Thanks Laura & Singdaw.  Knowing how packed the church would be we had planned to be early, thank goodness.

I did have another friend meet us outside the church to take over escorting the one in the walker into the church.  I had to take the food and drop it off in the back.  We were lucky to get seats.

I have not been adding new books to my library queue since I don't know if I will be switching libraries or not.  DR George, if I move away from Ashland do you know if my library will know?

Probably only if you notify them.

That is what I am hoping for.  Imagine if I had 4 library accounts to work from ;)

What I am concerned about is having the account shut down while I'm in the middle of reading a book.

Don't turn your wifi on.  I am pretty sure that if you move they still wouldn't delete your account unless 1) they know you moved 2) your card expired.

Well don't you have to renew your library card every year?  That is when if you move they will know that you know longer have a card.

That would be annoying.

What would be annoying having to renew your library card every year?  How else will they know that people still live in the area?  We have to show proof of residence.
