Well, you've read the notes, the notes were un, and now it is time for you to post until the un cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: GALENICAL!
-
First after BK!
-
It's going to be a good day.
-
Not great, but good.
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
DR TCB, I was avoiding beginning a book before going to sleep.
I am posting now as I am wide awake.
-
I came to comment on the email I received from my brother whom, I correctly guessed, watched Jeopardy. He said he had been rooting for the winner :)
-
Last night, it snowed here quite a lot. But this morning, most traces of it on the ground are gone. Weird.
I asked folks that have lived here a long time when the latest snow was that they can remember. Definitely in May. :P
-
A local group here is doing an 80th birthday tribute concert to Peter Schickele (aka P.D.Q. Bach). The first half of the program was devoted to his "serious" music, and the second half to comedy. There was a choir, a wind ensemble, and Mr Schickele himself narrating the entire thing. It was quite funny and a great evening.
-
Tonight, I have a dress rehearsal for a concert that I am performing in tomorrow, part of the "Great Northern Voices" choral festival.

Yep, I can remember those mid to late May snows. You go to bed one night after a beautiful day and wake up in the morning with snow on the ground. You want to jump out a window on those days! And this from someone who likes the snow.
-
Good morning. I am back.
-
Good morning, all.
(And a very happy 80th to PDQ, whichever day it may be.)
Coffee!
-
Good morning all!
I got around 10 hours of sleep last night, and I'm feeling pretty good today. I will head down to City Center and check on Joshie. Tonight, I'm having dinner with Rob Berman and Bruce Pomahac, and that's pretty much my day.
-
good morning to all
-
DR Laura, vibes you don't get locked out again.
-
Sounds like a wonderful evening, DR Elmore!
-

Coffee!
I love Peter Schickele! He is such a wonderful man. In the 1990s, when he was still doing his PDQ Bach concerts at Carnegie Hall after Christmas, I saw several of them as one of his guests. His "Oedipus Tex" is one of my favorite PDQ Bach works. A couple of years ago, he sent me a CD of his never-released-on-CD Vanguard recording of his songs for "The Knight of the Burning Pestle," and his orchestrations for Joan Baez' "Noël" album and Buffy Sainte-Marie are fantastic.
Also, his ridiculous comic opera "The Abduction of Figaro" should be performed regularly.
-
Oh my. I have some great Schickele to ketchup on.
-
It's raining in Austin. Indeed, it's supposed to keep raining through the weekend and into the first part of the week.
-
Did anybody watch the debut of THE COMEDIANS last night?
I thought it was funny; had some LOL moments.
Your take?
-
I liked OEDIPUS TEX.
-
DR BEN - that's great. I was also hoping that Chris would win. The passive aggressive champ that had been on for SIX days kept winning because her challengers would make huge bets on Double Jeopardy and Final Jeopardy questions and lose. She never really won because of her own skills.
Chris made a couple of BIG Double Jeopardy wagers that paid off.....and he knew the Final Jeopardy answer as well....she was called some kind of "guardian ad litem" not an actual one.....volunteer or something.....she looked like just the kind of person who would stick her nose into other people's business....so glad she's GONE!
I won't get to watch tonight because of rehearsal.....so please post how Chris does. I hope he is on for a few days at least.
-
I didn't see it DR DRUXY, I was watching Troy Donahue and listening to the thunder storm.

I will post tonight about how he does. I think this may be the end though (or he might go on Monday) because even though you can't speak about a show until it's aired someone here at the office mentioned the Tournament of Champions and he said he would not be eligible (you don't get invited back just because you won 1 game), then he caught himself and said he couldn't talk any more about tonight's show. We spent about 45 minutes diseccting the show with him. It's a great way to spend a Friday morning
-
Good morning, all.
It's raining off and on here, but the rain, when it comes, is heavy.
-
Welcome back, DR Laura.

I, too, love Schickele's music, with the exception of his "O! Calcutta!" score.
He was one of the first celebrities I ever interviewed, and I remember him being as funny as his work, but also serious about the musical integrity of it.
-
That's what was always so amazing about his stuff -- how good the music, and the performances themselves, were.
-
Two!
-
And to get things moving on our second new page of the day, I just paid a couple of nasty bills.
-
Friday morning greetings! Well, last night I took 2 Tylenol with dinner and fell asleep watching TV. After sleeping for more than an hour, my foot felt much better. This morning it's even better, so I'm proceeding with the planning for our belated Easter dinner with Rob and Mary Linda for Sunday.
-
Good news from DR GINNY.
Thanks DR BEN....I look forward to the report on tonight's episode.
-
Glad to see that Larry had a great night's sleep.
He is now back to being Larry Moore or Elmo.
Still, I miss La Moo!
-
Tonight at ANTIGONE, we are rehearsing our 90 minute school version that we will be performing for the 4 county high schools on Tuesday morning.
Tiresias lost a lot of lines for this version.....it's Tiresias Light.....I am also interested to see what else has been cut.
-
I hope DR VIXMOM is having a better work day today.
DR ELMORE thanks for the ON THE TOWN report!

Sunday will be Orthodox Easter. Serve something Greek.

I'm up, I'm up. Didn't get to sleep until four and woke up at ten-thirty but refused to get out of bed till a little while ago. Terrible violent dreams that I do not comprehend, having to do with an overseas country and torture - and I'm not even there - just like a movie or something. The prior dream was nice, though, and had to do with the theater where we did Inside Out. I also had a very violent "gangster" type dream the night before - again, not present in the dream, so weird.
-
Covers approved and book is on its way to the printer. I should have them in a week or so and then I can place my order and get everything shipped out.

I forgot about this. I wanted to record it but with being in a show, it totally slipped my mind. Spoo!
-
The Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that MR BK's dreams about gangsters indicates with a lack of trust and feelings of paranoia about a particular situation. So if you feel you are in a situation where you cannot trust anyone and you are starting to feel paranoid this is what gangster would represent. Gangsters are also known to be ruthless, so perhaps a situation looms wherein you have to express yourself strongly to those around you to make the situation better....do so.
-
So I am off to rehearse the 90 minute Antigone in which I only get to say half the sooth.
-
Loooooooooooooong day at work.
-
Had a sandwich and a small thing of chili for my meal o' the day.
-
Home now until Sami and mom arrive. Weird to me that there's not one comment on the little poster thing, but alas.
-
It's a delightfully delightful poster, BK!
-
Once the show gets up and going, do you have any plans to record it...either audio or video? That would be cool. :)
-
It's excellent. I especially like the colors, and the way you got the blue highlights.
-
The design is Doug Haverty - Sami's mom took the photo - she's a really good photographer. And yes, we're definitely doing a cast album, no matter what.

Great big blue eyes in the poster. Looks fun.

Fox is remaking the Rocky Horror Picture Show for TV. Really? What besides the Time Warp will get past the censors?

My inner Martha (biblical, not Stewart) is very traditional and our Easter tradition is green eggs (Jello) and ham (Honey Baked). We'll also have green beans and cheesy potatoes. Mary Linda will make a gluten-free dessert.
But maybe we'll go to the Greek place for lunch after church...

It probably shouldn't be a problem. The original movie has been shown on TV before.
-
Nice poster, BK!
-
I'm watching Jeopardy--Chris is really smart!
-
Finishing packing for my quick weekend trip to Buffalo. My flight is at 7:55 am so I'll have to leave home around 5 am for the Baltimore-Washington International Airport.
-
Jeopardy report. My boss lost. He put up a good fight but the guy who won came off as kind of a jerk and he didn't even know the answer to Final Jeopardy. He couldn't be caught. He had more than double the amount of what Chris and the other contestant had so he didn't have to bet anything, which is what he did. He got 2 of the 3 Daily Doubles and he answered one correctly (just barely) and he got the other one wrong. Chris also shouldn't have answered some of the Disco questions. Oh, well. I AM surprised that no one knew that the Sun newspaper that ran Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus was the NY Sun. I was yelling that at the television!
-
I'm watching Jeopardy--Chris is really smart!
Yes, he is. The good thing is he didn't win enough money that he would quit and I'd then have to worry about getting a new boss!

That's a good point, Ben!

A friend of mine, who played Nicely Nicely when I did GUYS AND DOLLS, is appearing in tonight's episode of HAWAII 5-0. He plays one of the Elvis impersonators in the episode. His character is named Taylor.

For some reason, I thought it was the Baltimore Sun, too. I did know that Donna Summer was the Queen of disco, though!

I'll record it!

Correct me if I'm wrong but in the old days, wasn't it true that only the winner on Jeopardy got cash?

That's too bad about your boss' loss, Ben, but good news that you won't have to get a new boss. :)
And did you (or anyone else) know that the great-grandson of Virginia herself was on Antiques Roadshow with the actual letter and response?? Here's a link from www.pbs.org about the original segment:

Well, it is Northwest night on network television. In addition to my friend's apprearance on HAWAII 5-0, Mary Kay Letourneau and Vili Fualaau will be interviewed by Barbara Walters tonight on 20/20. Mary Kay was the teacher who slept with and got pregnant by her 12-year old student. They have now been married for ten years, and have two children together.
-
Yes, Kevin, I think you're right. In the old days 2nd and 3rd place got "parting gifts" or something of that sort.

Maybe the "San Francisco treat?!"
-
Well, I'll say goodnight! Have a good weekend, everyone!
-
9 more days until I see the new doctor. I cannot wait until I see him. I am hoping that I won't have to wait long for a surgery date. It's getting more difficult every day to remain on my feet

Should I

do

short postings

get to

or should they be "quality" postings?

DR Ben, yesterday the young woman who grew up in this house posted on Facebook that her "good friend and former neighbor Christopher Hurt" would be on JEOPARDY last night. Small world, huh? Tell Chris I found that guy who won tonight very annoying and CONGRATULATIONS on last night's big win!
-
Home from a great dinner with Bruce Pomahac, Rob Berman, and Joshie. We had a good time, and I am happy to be gome from a long day out.
-
Had a very good work session with Sami - she's begun vocal lessons again with her good teacher and the difference is palpable.

Wow! I'm sure he has gotten Facebook posts and e-mails from all over from 2 days on television. Glad you found the winner annoying too. Anthony and I were both groaning at his way of playing. Oh, well. Chris said all he wanted when he got on Jeopardy was to win at least one game so he came through! I think if the winner hadn't been on tonight Chris probably would have won a second game.
I'll tell him about the neighbor and what you said when I see him on Monday.
-
Off to the theater!
Be back later!
-
I broke a molar today
-
I have not yet seen a dentist
-
4OUR

I'm at the theater, in my first costume, just waiting for the show to start.

I am watching for Johnny.

-
I have a couple of P.D.Q. Bach albums, a couple of CDs and some sheet music.
-
I'm on my tablet here at the theater and my battery power is down to 30%.
-
He is one of the suspects in the murder of an Elvis impersonator.
-
I don't know how long it'll last.
-
I gave his stage manager a ride to the grocery store in my car and wasn't supposed to do that....rules about liability or something, so I almost got fired from my stage hand job. To make it up to me (he asked for a ride) they bought me dinner and drinks. it was fun
-
IT'S PAGE FIVE!!
-
I don't know how long it'll last.
Turn it off during the second act.
-
I'm watching the Frank Sinatra documentary on HBO
-
Are you still here TCB?
-
I don't know how long it'll last.
Turn it off during the second act.
I will. I don't have as much down time in the second act until the next to the last scene I'm in...then I have 12 pages or so before the last scene.
-
I just noticed there is a group called "Amish Women of Facebook" LOL! How do you do that without electricity?
-
Well, it's time for act two!
-
So, I gotta go and act!
-
Be back later...probably not until I get home.
-
Are you still here TCB?
Sorry, I was watching Jonny's big scene.
-
He was pretty funny.
-
And then I got busy watching the episode.
-
Well, we are on page five.
-
But miles to go before I sleep.
-
My apologies to the poet.
-
I'm watching Mia Farrow talk about Frank Sinatra
-
Break a leg, George!!

I'm watching Mia Farrow talk about Frank Sinatra
Really, that must be interesting.

I guess this is why my brother didn't like her. He also seemed impressed Chris knew the final answer.

I am sorry Chris lost.

I'm sorry. Vibes the surgery will soon follow!
-
Fun small world story with Ginny & Chris :)
-
Back from the play - a somewhat dreary thing with a couple of nice performances.
-
Since I'd only had a sandwich and a small cup of chili, I stopped at Popeye's on the way home and got two chicken breasts - it was so bloody crowded I couldn't believe it. And I got the last two breasts, one of which I had to accept as spicy - wish I hadn't.
