Well, you've read the notes, the notes paid tribute to Yma Sumac, and now it is time for you to post until the exotica cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: LISSOM!

Morning all.
That is all.
-
CONGRATULATIONS on your new home, DR Jane!
-
I am not going to read the review of bk's new book because I don't want to know anything about the plot until I read it.
-
Thanks DR Singdaw.
-
Congrats to Jane!!!!
-
Good morning, all! Thirty years ago today was the Wednesday that SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE won the Pulitzer Prize. I'm very proud of that.
So, today is another City Center with Joshie day. I have no idea what work will end up in my hands today, but it will be fun to work with him and catch whatever gossip rolls in about the rehearsals and the actors.
-
No, "thank you."

Happy Friday and excellent vibes (not just good ones) to all!!!
-
Good morning, all.
Slept slightly later than usual, and had the usual crazy dream at the end. In the dream I was just waking up somewhere or other, to hear someone telling someone else what kind of coffee they'd like to have picked up for them at the doughnut shop, and I didn't rise in time to see if I could be included in that order. Also, something about a sister of some woman I know (in the dream) having published a book I really wanted to read, and it seemed that the publishing house had only printed one or two copies. Oy!
As if that wasn't enough, as soon as I was awake (in real life, not in the dream), I had the distinct feeling that today, Friday, is tomorrow, Saturday. Oy!
Well, that's enough Oys for now.
Coffee!
-
Happy 30th anniversary of a wonderful and memorable event, DR Elmore! You deserve to be proud of that.

Great review.

Good morning, all.
I have a lot of catch up on, but it's been a crazy busy few days.
Job interview is this morning. Got the word just after the panel discussion yesterday morning. So much for taking a day off.

TOD:
LITTLE ACCIDENTS
-
So, last night about 10, wife Sandy was feeling dizzy. (She had fallen at about 10:30 that morning.) I called a nurse hotline that we have through AARP, and they suggested that I take her to the emergency room, which I did.
They checked her out and everything was okay. We got home about 1 am.

Late in the afternoon yesterday, I began to feel sick, so I was unable to attend the rehearsal.....I am called again for Monday.
-
Friday morning greetings! After 3 days in a row of having to be up and out for fun morning commitments, I'm enjoying a slow start today.
-
DR Jrand64, this is hardly a shining week when it comes to all of the health issues and medical adventures going on here. (I knock wood as I say that...) Something up with the planets and stars?
-
Feel better vibes for DRs Dan M and JRand and for Mrs. Druxy!
-
Good morning, all! Thirty years ago today was the Wednesday that SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE won the Pulitzer Prize. I'm very proud of that.
As well you should be, dear DR Elmore - Happy Anniversary!
-
Congratulations to DR Jane and Keith on their new home - looking forward to pictures!
-
It still feels like a damned Saturday! No idea why.
Fortunately, I'm not likely to forget to show up for our opening tonight. Even if I do think it's Saturday, my call is the same! :D
(Note to self: Set all kinds of reminders for Sunday's matinee just in case this continues!)

The stage collapse at Westfield High School in Indianapolis last night was actually caused by TOO many people JUMPING on the pit cover.....
Everyone is okay....the video is scary, but I would think the director would know better than to put that many people on the pit cover - let alone let them jump around like idiots. Story and video.....

-
I saw "Mary Poppins" last night in Thousand Oaks (since I live in Thousand Oaks, I sort of had to). I enjoyed seeing Juliana Hansen (as Mary Poppins) again. I've missed seeing her in Kritzerland shows, as she hasn't been in one in quite a while - she was always one of my favorites of the Kritzerland casts. Bruce, I hope you enjoy the show and try to avoid eating at PF Changs, okay?
-
I know this is a stretch, but I can't help but think it, given that stage architecture:
How fortunate that the high school didn't have musicians in the pit, invisible but miked.
-
Yes, indeed, DR CHAS SMITH.......yes indeed.
-
Good morning.
I am glad to hear that Mrs. D is ok.
-
Good morning! My entire news page at Facebook is filled with Elmore comments to his post regarding Sunday in the Park. Congratulations Larry!!
-
Perhaps Mr. Sondheim will post a comment! :D
-
Perhaps Mr. Sondheim will post a comment! :D
Wow, a Mr. S. comment appearing on my news page! That would be sweet.
-
Now that I am not going to lunch today, I had a whole bunch of ideas of what I could accomplish. Unfortunately, the clouds of rolled in and it looks like we're going to have a storm. Getting my chair in and out of the trunk during the storm is not fun. So I guess I'll stay home and do nothing again.
-
Today I am trying to complete all of my posts, by using the dictation part of my Dragon speak and spell. If perhaps you see some strange word spellings or grammar, just go with the flow.
-
Actually, I think it takes longer to dictate this than it does to type it.
-
I guess I can consider this dictation to be good practice for when I might write a great American novel. Somehow I doubt that I would try to dictate an entire book on to this little dictation pad; but you never know.
-
I wonder if I can dictate directly to the reply page. I guess not. I'm sure there is a way, but it's beyond my knowledge.
-
I saw "Mary Poppins" last night in Thousand Oaks (since I live in Thousand Oaks, I sort of had to).
I avoid PF Chang's every chance I can get. A restaurant that refuses to offer salt to its patrons isn't worth patronizing. (And by salt, I mean salt, not soy sauce with some smarmy server saying, "It's Chinese salt.")
Needless to say, it's a pet peeve of mine.
-
I wonder if there is a college course that I can take for Dragon? I'm able to do the easiest chores, but not the difficult ones was like transferring dictation.
-
I have never eaten at PF Changs. I don't think Tacoma has one. It can't be worse than Panda Express

Thank you, all. I think the candidate has already been chosen, but it didn't hurt too much to keep on top of things by going through the interview process. And it continues Monday.

That's exactly what I was thinking, too. Good to know that no one was seriously hurt.
-
Good morning! My entire news page at Facebook is filled with Elmore comments to his post regarding Sunday in the Park. Congratulations Larry!!
Than you, DR TCB!
And I am home from Encores! I did get a chance to say howdy to John Turturro at the meet and greet.
-
DR ChasSmith, I did come home half expecting a voice mail from Mr Sondheim, but he may no longer have my phone number. I honestly doubt he even remembers the actual day the award was announced, and that's fine. I wish him well.
-
SUNDAY is a great favorite of mine, and the only recording/show that I enjoy watching that particular leading lady in.
-
IF Mr Jenner had not become involved in that disgusting media circus known as the Kardashian family, I might be interested in what he had to say.
But since it seems like just another opportunity for that clan to stay in the news, it does not interest me.
I have seen so many PROMOS for the program and been bombarded with so many articles and internet links that the interview itself seems almost superfluous.
-
I have never eaten at PF Changs. I don't think Tacoma has one. It can't be worse than Panda Express
I like Panda Express.
There is no P.F. Chang's in the Olympia area, so I have no idea how good they are.
-
So, no DR TCB, I will not be watching the interview....aka a long commercial for Jenner's upcoming E! Network reality show about his changing life.
-
Shocking news on GREY'S ANATOMY last evening!
:o I know, right!?!?!
-
I am curious. Who is planning on watching the Diane Sawyer/ Bruce Jenner interview this evening?
I plan to. I'll record it, also...just in case.
-
continued health vibes to dr dan
Thank you Michael! ;)
-
Continued recovery vibes for DR DAN M.
Thank you, thank you!
-
I doubt seriously that Bruce Jenner would agree to have his privates removed just for the sake of landing a reality show. Since he contemplated doing this back in the 80's, I have to believe this is something that has troubled him for his whole life. I have several friends who went thru the change, and i know that they must go thru months and months oif psychological counseling before any surgery can be performed. Hopefully the American public will learn about a side of life that they might otherwise ignore.
-

They once were good, especially for gluten-free choices, but they changed the menu and it changed for the worse.
Needless to say, it's a pet peeve of mine.
-
Dan, how are you feeling today?
-
Feel better vibes for DRs Dan M and JRand and for Mrs. Druxy!
Thanks Ginny!
-
Dan, how are you feeling today?
I'm feeling a bit tired. My tongue is a bit sore and that makes eating problematic. My throat is not as sore though, depends on what I'm eating or drinking. The anesthesia really hit me hard, and I do have painkillers available, which I will take just before bedtime, like last night. My surgeon's office didn't have the results yet, so I guess no news is good news.
Unless anything spins off from this surgery, I am to have a pre-screening evaluation in May and then the surgeon assisted robotic abdominal surgery in June.
Thank you for everything! :)
-
Continued vibes for Dan M.
Thank you John and hoping for success for you.
-
You are in my prayers.
-
You are in my prayers.
I am very comforted by that and it means a lot to me.
-
I'm taking a creative writing class on Canvas and I finished writing this poem while I was partly zonked out by anesthesia and painkillers. Somehow ideas came to me a bit better. Our assignment was to create a word cloud of words that had similar sounds or cognates or structures or near rhymes. It's only my second "real" poem and maybe it's truly sophomoric, but I've always wanted to get my creative writing mojo going. It was fun, but challenging. Here's what I pulled out of the seemingly random words:
UNFORESEEN REVERIE
Casting out tarantellas
To unique reverberant chords
And clutches of cascading quarter notes
Caught betwixt the coreopsis and cascarilla
Along the copse the ol’ rill washes o’er
Ribbonlike flashes of coral and corundum
Running down obsidian ores and iridescent oysters
Sound ascending as metaphysical cuisine
Morpheus consorting with Freud acquiescent
Evincing corroboration of wordless myths
Spanning generations of seeds conceding
Subtle techniques of Providence unseen

BK, you (and others here, I'm sure) are going to love this YouTube video that a FB friend posted on FB: What if Man of Steel was IN COLOR? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Du-eYiD9OfM) This is exactly what you've been talking about for a long time!

I was surprised to learn that there's still a fair amount of flu going around. In April? It's usually over in March. Also, my acupuncturist commented today on how many of her patients are having allergy problems. She said she doesn't usually have them, but is having some symptoms this year. We've had a bad cold and flu season and I suspect it left many people rather weak and vulnerable.
HEALTH VIBES TO ALL!
-
DR John G, I'm surprised you obtained an interview so quickly. I agree; it's good practice. You also make new contacts, which never hurts.
-
TOD:
BORGEN
I really like this series. I admit I had a little trouble getting into the first episode. Danish politics? Wasn't really on my radar. But the show is so well done. Unlike many shows which get off to a strong first season but can't sustain it, this one holds up very well.
-
There used to be a P.F. Chang's in Alexandria. It was very popular for a while, then they became a take-out only place. It seemed to me that they were never busy after that. DR Kevin might know. It was in Shirlington village, one of my old favorite stomping grounds.
-
Congrats to Larry on his 30th anniversary.
-
Nice poem DR DAN M.
The only shocking thing to me is that GREY'S ANATOMY is still on the air.
-
I'm not feeling too well myself today. I'm going to curl up with a book.
TTFN.
-
DR TCB I did not mean to infer that Mr. Jenner's decision was FOR a television show.
-
DR TCB I did not mean to infer that Mr. Jenner's decision was FOR a television show.
Oh I know that, Jack. I didn't mean to sound like I was chastising you. I was reacting more to what I have heard from some friends locally.

It's amazing that about 40 years ago Jenner was on a Wheaties box and now he'll be more suited to be on Modern Bride.

Me too!

I didn't really know so I looked it up. There's one on N. Glebe Rd in Arlington.
-
DR Jeanne--The P.F. Chang's in Shirlington must have closed. There was a nice Italian restaurant that closed there too. By the way, I don't know when you were in Shirlington last, but it's quite different now, with the new Signature Theatre and the Arlington County Library and lots more shops and restaraunts.
-
Even though Entertainment Tonight was talking about the Bruce Jenner interview I didn't pay attention as to when it was going to be on, TCB. So I'm recording it. I might want to skip over some of it, especially interviews with the Kardashians.
